~Chapter 4~
The Duke Augustus Louie de Vicar's POV:
Every move she made seemed to be full of dignity and grace. Even when she...was being frivolous, but it still felt like there was an invisible wall between us. Like she was putting her guard up.
I tuned my attention back onto what she was saying, "my Zora is that I have complete control over fire and heat." She sat up straight in the seat across from me. "Of course, I'm not immune to fire. Actually, I've burned myself on numerous occasions and I've been sick with fevers often."
I've seen a lot of witches but being about to control one of the most unstable elements without a proper incantation is definitely worthy of the demon king.
"Fevers? Why fevers?" It doesn't seem like she would get sick from using her powers.
"Ah, I can raise the heat of an item or take it away. This includes body temperatures. Add that with the exhaustion of using magic and boom, sickness." She paused for a second and then smiled. "Of course, I know how to raise body temperatures in other ways. Would you like me to show you?"
She moved out from her chair and started making her way towards me. I could feel my face heat up as I looked at her once again.
She was elegant. Her features were more refined and beautiful, not to mention her black hair framed her face perfectly.
Her body...wasn't lacking either. She has quite the long legs and it accompanied rather well to her curvaceous torso. Her chest was rather plump too, and she knew it.
I hate to admit it but she is rather beautiful.
"No, no.. There's no need for that." I quietly mumbled out.
She went quiet for a second then suddenly burst out laughing. "Your face..." Venus took a second to laugh some more before continuing her sentence. "It's priceless. Anyways, I'll show you my powers."
A orange-red magic circle surrounded the entirety of her hand as she laid it on my shoulder.
All of a sudden I became very cold. My body almost shivering by itself before it became normal temperature again.
"What- What was that? I thought you only dealt with heat?"
"There's no such thing as cold. Just the absence of heat. I didn't make you colder... Just took away the heat from your body." She smiled sweetly at me and practically skipped back to her chair.
"Okay... then why didn't you just summon fire?" I leaned my head against my hand, tired of this conversation and scared of what she'll do next.
"I didn't want to burn myself or light your pretty castle on fire. That would be a real shame. Now, are we done with our little showcase? I would like to see what room I will be staying at."
I sighed and rubbed the pressure points on my head to calm my oncoming headache. "Please follow Mary to your room."
Venus turned her head to see a maid standing in the corner. "Oh my! I didn't even notice her. How scary." She jumped up out of her chair and approached Mary. "Nice to meet you. I'm Venus Vastroth."
Mary didn't say anything and just motioned for Venus to follow her. Venus shrugged and complied with Mary.
I was soon left by myself. Her teasing was too much to handle.
My life is definitely not going to be the same with her around.
