What a Fool She Was
"how are the records going?" a dark-scaled dragon asked as she rose from her lava pit, scaring the poor ice dragon in the room.
"geesh, your highness, you need to stop doing that! My heart is not young anymore," the queen snorted "wimp. anyhow, how are the ichneumons holding up? are lord Geverspike alright? I heard his words were not fatal but hurtful. his son too," said the queen with a wince.
The IceWing sighed and flared his wings "they are doing better. that dragoness buried them; I feel they will not be able to carry out this mission" the queen nodded and sighed as she lowered herself into the lava once more "tell my daughter that it is her turn. that dragoness is really a fool" and then it were silent in the throne room. General Cryofreeze sighed and slunk back into the public space where an army of IceWIng rogues was waiting.
Once they saw their general, they all snapped to attention. "inform princess Greatness that her mother has allowed her to carry this mission further. Lord Geverspike is not in a condition to continue this any longer," he said, and his squad nodded and scattered in search of the Nightwing princess. Meanwhile, general Cryofreeze trudged along the halls of the blasted island. He and his team of rogues had been caught here by some NighWings that if they didnt serve the Nightwing queen, they would be slaughtered just like Morrowseer did with the IceWing prisoners in ex-Queen Scarlet's arena.
Cryofreeze shuddered, feeling the familiar cold of ice creeps over his back. He had his quarters in this burning dump of a home, and he had used his frost breath to keep it as cold as possible. The rest of his squad had similar rooms, so they were at least alive and well when he trained them on the usual IceWing fighting measures.
He soon curled up on his bed off lava rocks that were long gone dead, and he huffed, contested that this mission was going as good as it could be.
Well, one man's failure is another man's Greatness. That Sky Dragon is too naive and foolish. So I am trusting one of our own. Well, I hope Greatness will do her part and not fall apart like Lord Geverspike.
And the IceWing soon fell asleep in a happy fighting dream.

Princess Greatness smiled as she got the news about her mother promoting her to take the mission.
It was the first time her mother had made her do anything other than being her voice for the council of NightWings. "We will start at first daylight," she rumbled to the Second in Comand IceWing called Aurora. A pretty IceWing with the eyes of shifting polar lights.
"As you wish, your highness," she said and bowed before slithering out of the room where princess Greatness was upholding herself. A wicked nightmarish grin crossed the princess's face, and she turned to face the bubbling volcano.
The plan was to capture the Sky Dragon known as Dazyn and get information about that Distant kingdom. It had been their goal since the population of Nightwings had heard about them.
Well, for her, it was like discovering a new species. Which it kind of where. she had to tell Starflight about this too. He would definitely like this. Soon enough, the princess entered a comfortable sleep, dreaming about what fantastic things they could learn if they captured Dazyn. But she didnt know what desolation it would cause the land where the dragoness was born. Sometimes, you're not supposed to take things from the forest that you are never supposed to leave unless it is their choice.
The night came to the NightWing island, and all NightWings soon slithered to their caves to sleep. they had to get enough sleep to seem hostile when the newcomer came. After all, they didnt want to scare Dazyn, only study her. But they may have done that in her homeland, where she is comfortable and does not need to walk around in a small cage.
The NightWings might be one of the smartest dragon tribes in Pyrrhia, but sometimes they fail to show it.

It was finally morning, and princess Greatness woke up feeling the bubbly heat of the volcano under her nails.
But it didn't bother her. she was too excited about today's events to even care about the bubbling heat. She soon got up and started doing herself, ready for the day. A knock was heard on her door, and the princess stiffened but growled out, "come in" the slab of stone that worked as the door to the cave was moved, and in came general Cryofreeze, looking as arrogant as always.
"princess," he greeted with a bow. The princess snorted and turned her attention back to attack her thin useless armor. She used it because she didnt know how that sky dragon would react when they took her. And she didnt knows how strong she was either. "state your business," she grunted as she strapped the last piece of armor on her talon.
The IceWing general nodded and opened his maw to speak, "well, your mother requested your presence. It is urgent; she said," Greatness sighed and turned finally to face the general "very well, tell her I'm on my way" the IceWing nodded and slithered out, leaving the princess to follow him.
She rose her wings to a prouder stature than her mother had thought her. Soon the two dragons entered the throne room where the bubbling cauldron of lava was waiting for them. "my daughter," rumbled a voice, and out of the lava rose the Nightwing queen big as always. General Cryofreeze bowed, but Greatness didn't. she did need to either. Queen Battlewinner was her mother, after all.
"you asked from my presence, mother," the princess clicked, and her mother nodded. "leave us," she told Cryofreeze, who nodded before leaving the hot bubbling room. "my daughter, I hope you're ready for the quest I am sending you out on," said Battlewinner. Her daughter nodded, making her mother smile.
"Good, now leave," she said, sinking back into the cauldron, protecting her from freezing to death. The princess sighed and turned back to the stone room, leaving to do her mission.
She had to get it right, or her mother would be disappointed. Very disappointed.
