The Bleeding of Wings

It began with the thundering of the skies ahead.

Then the sun, whose veil gets stronger and stronger, blocks out her light. Now the land of Tiressea was plunged into darkness, and no one knew when it would clear up again. The army of white dragons, along with their new companions, were approaching the tall, once-happy mountain of Moomark Hills, giving the whole area a spooky look. Outside the doors of that mountain were one single dragon with red scales glowing and a complex, deadly look in his golden eyes.

The army office wings landed down and studied their opponent "what is this?" scoffed the NightWing princess, her sharp gaze amused. Toothless was also confused. Dragons weren't known to abandon their own. But maybe these dragons were different. "sate your business, her Dark Dragon," Smaug growled out, his head held high. Princess Greatness scoffed and puffed smoke from her nares. "where is the rest of your accursed tribe? Where is your One?" Smaug tensed up at the mention of his soulmate but kept calm.

"They are not here," he rumbled "they have fled like wind on the mountains. I am the only one left" that sent Toothless into a spiral of empathy, anger, and pity. "who would be so heartless to leave their kin behind?" he muttered. Stormfly, who was beside him, heard him, and she sighed but said nothing. "so you're saying that the Champion of the Skies is not here?" Princess Greatness asked, her anger spiking.

She could not fail this. Her mother would defiantly not like this and would either punish her or the whole tribe. Like they weren't being punished enough by just being here. The princess took a breath and stepped up, looking at Smaug with so little sympathy it sickened him "you will tell us where they fled, or I will not let you live for any more seconds than I have," she growled, and her army was stunned by the ferocity of her tone. Smaug, on the other talon, was not. He had heard angry dragons before and won.

He looked at her with a changing look. "I have not been defeated all my life. And I had worse enemies than you will dream to live up to Night Scum. I am a king, and you do well to remember nobody crosses a dragon" before she could blink, the NightWing princess was pinned under the wyren's three-clawed talon.

He was heavier and stronger than her, she knew that now and his claws were pushing her armor against her scales, making it hard for her to breathe. "your highness!" barked an IceWing and rushed forward, but Toothless stopped him "wait" he said. The IceWing hissed, feeling his ice breath bubble up "are you mad?! he will kill her!" he roared. Still, Toothless shook his head "no, I fear he will not. but they will" he pointed up to the top of the mountain where the IceWings looked, and one after another, they started to see something that made their blue blood run cold.

On the mothan were thousands of dragons sitting, their eyes opening as if my robotic ade. Hisses and snarls started to fill the air, and the IceWings soon found themselves outnumbered and surrounded as the dragons climbed down and sruopuind them.

One of the dragons, though, stood out from teh others. A beautiful (s/c) dragonness with (e/c) eyes glared at princess Greatness as she slithered towards Smaug and the princess. "you come armed into my kingdom demanding that my One shall speak of our whereabouts. This kingdom is locked to outsiders, and any who dare tread our soil declare war. You wanted me, and here you have me. Kill me, and you will not live to see daylight again. I give you one chance to leave peacefully without our blood being shed and spilled on the ground. If you refuse, I will not hesitate to let my tribe do what we can," I said as I glared into the golden eyes of the night dragon.

Her eyes were wide and fear-filled. Her armor was denting inwards, and I saw by the rapid heaving of her chest that she was losing breath. "what do you say?" Smaug growled at her, his head sinking lower to her; his teeth bared to show one wrong answer, one bad move, and she would bleed out on this ground like a stuck pig.

"I-I refuse" her words were weak before they broke into a growl and then a roar as she suddenly pushed Smaug off her slinging him to the ground with brute force. The dragons behind them erupted into a flurry of wings and claws attacking the opposing army. I jumped to help my One tackle the night Princess, but before I could even strike a blow at her, I was tackled away.

I grunted as I hit the ground, my vision blurring. I soon shook it off and tried to stand but felt a talon placed at my chest, claws till in my scales to let me know that the dragon would let them dig into my heart some. "I am sorry," the dragon sobbed, and I whipped my eyes to see Darkstalker standing there, his bright eyes dulled with tears. my winded. "you?" I asked, my voice breaking "y-you... why?" Darkstalker sighed, his grip losing a bit. "I have to. she is my princess. The one I followed all those years ago. She took me in, or to put it right, her mother did. I swore to follow her if she let me live. I knew this would happen, and I-i hated myself every moment leading to here. I never wanted this! B-but I have to."

My eyes teared up, and my wings slumped against the ground "do it then," I choked out. Darkstalker stared at my eyes wide. "do it and end the pain for us both. I am happy to die for the kingdom I dearly love. Tell Smaug that I loved him. A-and Darkstalker?" he hummed, making me smile. "I loved you too," and I let my head fall to the ground, a mark of submission. Submission to teh fate I knew I had to go through for the sake of my kingdom.

I felt tears fall at my chin and felt an excreting pain, and before I knew it, darkness came bringing me away, and I was no longer conscious.
