Planning
After leaving Avni's room, Neil's face changed from a smile to a furious expression. He was really angry because Ashish had deceived him. Ashish falsely blamed Avni for their marriage, and Neil couldn't understand how a father could do that. Doesn't Ashish truly love Avni? Is he so blind? Neil was lost in his thoughts, feeling heartbroken for Avni. He knew that Avni would be devastated if she found out the truth. Despite his anger towards Ashish, Neil didn't want Avni to suffer because of her so-called father. He promised to keep this truth hidden from Avni and protect her from the pain.
Unable to contain his anger, Neil couldn't resist confronting Ashish. He stormed into Ashish's room, startling both Ashish and Neela with his furious expression.
Neela: Neil, beta, is everything okay?
Neil glared at Ashish, then turned to Neela and said,
Neil: Nothing is fine, Aunty. Nothing is fine because of your husband. All of this is happening because of him.
Ashish and Neela were shocked.
Ashish: What happened, Neil? What are you saying?
Neil, still furious, questioned Ashish,
Neil: How can you be so cruel to your own daughter, Uncle? Don't you love her?
Neil: You told me that Avni troubled you and blackmailed you into getting me married to her.
Ashish turned pale and struggled to find words.
Ashish: Neil, I... I didn't know what to say anymore. I'm ashamed.
Ashish, feeling guilty, stammered,
Ashish: Neil, I... I...,
Neil: Do you think that your apology will fix everything? How could you do this, Uncle, to your own daughter? Or is Avni not your daughter?
Ashish was shocked and quickly responded,
Ashish: No, no, I am sorry for everything, Neil. She is my daughter, my blood. I love her a lot. I regret whatever I have done to her. I am sorry, sorry.
Overwhelmed with guilt, he fell to his knees and cried harder. Neela, understanding that he had done something she was unaware of, remained silent with tears in her eyes. She chose not to question him about the matter, as she didn't even want to talk to him at that moment.
Ashish, still on his knees and tearful, opened up,
Ashish: I am sorry. Juhi didn't want to come to her own home because of Avni. I thought marrying Avni into a good family was the only option. In that way, both Avni and Juhi would be happy. I know I committed many sins, but trust me when I say this, Neil, that if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have married Avni to just anyone without knowing anything. I love my daughter, and I would never want her to be unloved. I was angry, very angry at that time, so I did this, but I know you and your family will always keep her happy. I am sorry for everything I did.
Neil, without uttering a word, left the room.
Ashish, still in tears, expressed his remorse,
Ashish: I am sorry, Neela. I always failed you. I failed at everything—being a good husband, being a good father. In everything, I have failed.
Neela, looking at him with anger, couldn't hold back her emotions. She dropped down and embraced her husband, breaking into sobs. They both cried, holding each other.
Neela: We have committed so many mistakes, but now we will mend everything.
Ashish nodded his head, still crying,
Ashish: We will win our daughter back.
Neela nodded in agreement.
It had been a week, and Neil was consumed by his work. He would come home late at night and leave early in the morning. Despite his busy schedule, he couldn't stop thinking about how to make things right with Avni. He longed for her to talk to him, even if it was just a conversation. However, Avni continued to give him the silent treatment.
Taking a bold step, Neil decided to take a five-day leave excluding weekends. His plan was to take Avni out of the country, far away from everyone, and spend quality time together. He wasn't sure if Avni would agree to come with him, but he was determined to give it a try and ask her.
Neil came home early from the office, but what he saw angered him. Avni was sitting close to Ananth, laughing at his flirting and looking at something on his phone.
Jealous, Neil couldn't hold back his emotions and asked,
Neil: What's happening?
Avni and Ananth looked at Neil, who was glaring at Ananth, making him gulp nervously, while Avni just rolled her eyes.
Ananth (Stammering): We ar-e working on a college project.
Neil raised one eyebrow.
Neil: So what's there to laugh at?
Avni ignored Neil.
Avni: Ananth, we will go there tomorrow. I will come along with you.
She said this with a smile, further fueling Neil's fury.
Neil: I asked something.
Avni, seemingly annoyed, responded,
Avni: We are talking, and do not disturb us. You can go now.
Neil was both shocked and amused at her dismissive replies.
Neil: Where are you going tomorrow?
Avni turned completely towards Neil.
Avni: It is none of your concern, Neil. I can go anywhere I want to.
Neil sighed in frustration.
Ananth, fearing Neil's anger, added,
Ananth: We are going on a college trip, it's kind of an educational tour. We have to go, research, and document it to complete our projects.
Neil felt disheartened upon hearing this information. He had wanted to take her out of the country, but here she was making other plans.
Neil's inner thoughts: See, you are very late. Now she will be going with this Ananth.
Ananth: We will be back after a week.
Neil was shocked to hear that.
Neil: No way, Avni. You are not allowed to go anywhere.
Avni retorted defiantly,
Avni: What? I am going, Neil, and dare you try to stop me. I have to go, and I will go.
Neil, anger evident in his tone, spoke up,
Neil: Avni, I am being quiet, but that doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. You know you cannot go. You're not a—
Avni interrupted sarcastically,
Avni: I know I am not any normal citizen. I am the great Prime Minister's wife, and it will be dangerous for me to go out, right? But that will not stop me from going out this time, Neil. All this while, I have lived for others, but now I want to live for myself. No one can stop me now. I don't care if there is any danger. I will go, and don't you dare come in my way.
She said angrily and turning to Ananth, she says
Avni: Ananth, I will be ready by 5 am. You come and pick me up.
Ananth nodded fearfully, aware of Neil's anger.
Ananth: Okay, I will leave now. See you tomorrow.
Avni nodded, and Ananth left. Neil, holding Avni's hand, dragged her to their room, despite her protests.
Neil: I will see how you will be going there, Avni.
Saying that, he threw her onto the bed and hovered over her. She struggled to get out of his arms, but he held her tightly.
Avni: Neil, you asshole, leave me!
Neil: Shout as loud as you want, but I am not sending you there.
Avni: I will go, and you cannot stop me, Neil.
Neil responded sternly,
Neil: Stop acting childish, Avni. You know you cannot go anywhere. How many times do I have to repeat?
Avni tried to find an alternative,
Avni: Okay, then I will take Ali with me. I will ask him to come with me.
Neil, angered by the suggestion, hugged her tightly in frustration and sadness, not willing to hear Ali's name as a traveling partner.
Neil: I will come with you. We both will go together. I am not sending you alone and that too with Ananth (he whispers near her ear)
Avni, breathing heavily from shouting and moving around and also she found herself close to Neil after many days. They looked at each other intently. Neil leaned down to kiss her on the lips, but Avni turned her head, causing him to kiss her cheek. Neil sighed loudly, and Avni pushed him away, leaving the room without saying a word.
As she was about to leave, Neil called out,
Neil: Be ready by 5 am. We will go there and ask Ananth not to pick you up.
