June 24, 1940

Steve hardly slept last night, every time he closed his eyes he heard her screams, they were like nothing he could have ever imagined. It was all cemented in his mind, he didn't know if it would ever leave.

Instead, he decided to draw just to try and clear his mind. He pulled back the curtains to look out the window and was utterly disappointed with the large about of clouds covering the sky. He sighed and started sketching nothing in particular.

His mind began to drift and he couldn't focus on the drawing anymore. He sighed and laid his head against the window. He could very well escape now. But he couldn't leave her, she was in just the same amount of danger as he was. If not worse.

"Well well well, look who is awake," Steve's head turned over to the door that he didn't notice had opened. "I didn't know you were an early riser lover boy, not even six yet."

Steve didn't respond, instead, his eyes wondered her body looking for any indication of injury, and that's when he spotted it. While the rest of her body was covered by her silk robe, her head was completely exposed. On her head near her temples were two light red bruises, almost completely concealed but still visible to a keen eye.

"What happened to your head?" he asked, he knew he probably wouldn't get an answer but he wanted to see her reaction. Steve watched as her hand almost went up to touch her wound but quickly went down, plus a look of confusion not knowing what he was talking about. Somehow, they erased her memory.

"Want to join me for breakfast?" She asked walking over to him, she completely diverted his question, almost as if he never asked it. Steve was facing her sitting down on the bae window as Natasha came and sat down beside him, but facing him. "Heard the chief is making something delightful."

"I am starting to doubt you actually have a chief," he said, knowing full well that the chief was brought by her father and they were the only two in the house. "You cook?"

"Why do you like a woman who cooks?" she teased. "You want a wife who can cook?"

"She can do whatever she wants in life, all I would ask if for her to love me," he responded as she leaned closer to her.

"How romantic lover boy," She smiled and Steve caught a smell of vanilla and strawberries from her. "Will you join me for breakfast?" she asked kindly. Steve knew it was all a tactic, but somewhere deep in her eyes she wanted him to say yes, so he nodded.

As they went into the kitchen she had laid out two meals, of toast and eggs. She laid it out on a nice plate, Steve knew that her father was probably limiting her supplies.

"Full access," She said and Steve raised an eyebrow confused by her words, she gave him a teasing smile in return. "You have exactly five minutes to ask me any question you will like and I will answer them truthfully."

"How can I believe you will actually tell me the full and honest truth?" He let before his mind had a chance to think. Natasha could only smile.

"Better getting an answer then nothing at all," She said, and Steve knew she was right, as long as she said something he could determine if it was a lie or not. "You ten minutes has already started by the way so think quickly lover,"

"Where were you born?" He asked. Steve wanted to use this time to get to know her, which clearly shocked the girl because she probably figured he would be asking questions about his kidnapping.

"Russia," she answered. Steve figured he would probably get the most minimal answer she could muster. "Born and raised"

"Do you have any siblings?" He asked.

"Not that I know of." She said, no emotion could be read on her face.

"What about your mother where is she?" He asked, still nothing could be shown in her emotions. Steve was going to figure something out, he wanted to find something in common with her that way it would be easy to get her to cooperate with him.

"I don't know." She admitted. "My father said she left the minute she could. Said she never wanted anything to do with me or him, my father is all I have," She said. "He is my family, the only person in this world I will allow to love me," she said, but Steve knew better, he knew that her father didn't love her, and if he could do anything it would be to prove it to her.

The more he learned about her the more upset it made him, her father has been telling her lies. Another thing crossed his brain, how could she be his daughter, the two were nothing alike, in looks or in personality. Steve noticed that early on.

"How old are you?" he asked, trying to come up with another question.

"It's rude to ask a woman her age Captain," She said with a smirk.

"Full access," He reminded and Natasha smirked taking a bite of her eggs before looking up at him.

"twenty." She answered, only two years younger than him. "Before you say it, I know I look younger than I actually am," She said with a smirk.

"Why do you agree with everything Ivan does?" He asked Natasha was taken back by the question. She never really had to explain herself for following her father's orders, it always came naturally, he was her father after all. In her mind, he would never do anything to hurt her.

"He's my father," She said. "I have trust in what he does, he does it for a reason."

"Do you know about his so-called 'academy' or group home he is involved in?" he asked and she looked in his eyes and frowned.

"I know of it. It's a dance academy. I have never been but my father is deeply involved." She said and Steve knew she wasn't lying, alas he apparently knew things that she did not. "My friend was supposed to go there, but I pleaded with my father to let her stay,"

"What's her name?"

"Maria Hill, what does it matter to you?" She asked momentarily forgetting about the full access, she quickly hid her mistake with a comment, "You want to make her fall for you? Am I not enough for you captain." Steve shook his head before looking at her again.

"When will you see her again?" he asked.

" I don't know lover boy depends on you I guess," She said with her classic smirk. Steve was running out of filler questions he wanted to know the truth now.

"Has your father ever hurt you?" There was a moment of silence that Steve barely caught and when she spoke he heard a pause of hesitation.

"No... No, my father has never hurt me." She answered, but something in her voice told him something else as if she was lying. He didn't want her to get lost in those thoughts so he moved on, he got the answer he was looking for.

"Do you believe in goodness?" he asked and she gave him a questioning look. She then smirked just a little.

"Goodness is dependent on which side you are on. For example, what I may believe is right, you may think it's bad. It all depends on what side of the line you're standing on." She said and picked up a cup to take a sip. Natasha was watching him intently as he watched her too.

"it's all a matter of circumstance I guess," Steve said. "Do you think what you're doing is right?"

"I think that what I am doing is what I am told to do. That it doesn't matter what I think as long as I get it done." She answered putting her cup down.

"That's a tough way to live."

"But it's a good way not to die." She smiled and then looked down at the watch that was nicely placed on her wrist. "Looks like time is up lover boy." She said. "Figure out what you wanted to know?"

"about so." He said. "Go ahead and ask me now."

"What?" she asked not believing she would have a chance, she was probably planning to use his questions against him.

"Full access, to ask whatever you want. No time limit." He said with a charming smile. "Guess you could say I am nice like that." She looked down and smiled.

"You know I could ask you about Fury's base right? You said full access," she said with a smirk.

"Go ahead." He said. He didn't look scared at all of her askings. "But you and I both know I can't answer that because I do not know where it is. Fury moves place to place, even if I wanted to I couldn't tell you where he was at."

"If I did know that, then why do you think I keep you around?" She asked in a teasing voice.

"I don't know, heard that I can be charming," He said and for the first time since he has been worth Natasha, he had a genuine look of happiness on his face. Not a pity charming smile, but one of pure happiness. This unusual to Natasha, but to Steve he wanted to gain her trust.

"okay lover boy I'll bite." She smiled. "the carters, do you still love them? If so which one, or is it both?" She asked Steve could tell that she was a little bit of a gossip.

"No I do not still love them, I don't think" He stopped for a moment to think. "I don't think that Peggy and I had enough time, and Sharon, unfortunately, I don't think I ever felt romantic feelings toward her."

"So my lover boy never actually loved anyone?" She asked raising an eyebrow.

"Guess you can say I haven't found the right partner." He said softly.

"Well you don't have to worry about that anymore," She smiled, trying to forget about how warm her stomach felt when he looked at her, the way no one else had. "I will take very good care of you here."

"I know you will," He said.

"Now my lover boy, do answer me this." She said and walked behind him slowly dragging his fingers alone his arm up to his shoulder. "what does a girl have to do to get your attention?" She whispered slowly into his ear, her breath on his neck sent a spine chilling feeling.

"I'd say you're doing pretty good so far," he answered placing his hand on top of hers in hopes of stopping her movement. She didn't stop, however.

"I don't know, you don't seem to be noticing me Captain, and I have given you many hints. Do I not attract you?" She purred.

"Are we still in full access?" he asked, his voice almost caught in his throat.

"I wouldn't expect anything but honesty coming from you." She said her hand that he did not have drew circles on his back.

"Well I can not say that I don't find you beautiful, but anyone who looks at you can say that." He spoke trying to ignore how she painfully breathed down his neck.

"I must say out of everyone I have been forced to interrogate, you are by far the most handsome, such a gentleman" She smiled. It was quiet as she continued to seduce him, it, however, was not working on Steve, he was too focused on her wrist.

As he held her hand her sleeve went up and her red skin was revealed, it looked burnt and it did not look like a cooking accident. He saw that her hands were dry, almost as if she suffered a fall and they were covered in calluses.

"Natasha are you happy?" he asked and then all her movements stopped. There was a brief silence as if his question made it's way into her soul and trying to break free.

"I thought it was my time for full access Steve," She said. "Why do you care?"

"If I told you something, would you believe me?" He asked.

"Depends on what you have to tell me." She answered.

"Natasha I know something, something that you apparently don't." He said and Natasha let out a chuckle in amusement.

"What could you possibly know that I don't?" She asked the amusement was clear in her voice. "Clearly it is I who has the upper hand. I mean nothing you say can affect me."

"You and I both know that's not true. " He said. "I have been watching you this entire time we have been talking if I say the right words you get all anxious."

"Maybe," She purred, "You just can't read me correctly," she tried to get her hand from his grip so she could move away but he held it, using his other hand to move her sleeve down.

"Do you know what happened to your arm?" he asked and Natasha's eyes glazed over her arm before pulling it away, as if his gaze was burning her.

"It's none of your business," She answered. "I think you have ruined the mood," She and was beginning to leave the room. "and to think I was going to let you have some fun,"

"Deflecting won't take away from the fact that you're scared and confused." He spoke softly. "Natasha I can help you," She stopped dead in her tracks.

"You can't help me because I don't need helping. Even if I did I most certainly wouldn't get it from you." She spoke, her voice was full of venom. This didn't stop Steve though.

"Natasha, you're father is a horrible man." He said.

"As I said before Steve, it all depends on the side of the line in which you stand." She turned her head to look over her shoulder just a tad. "You don't know a thing about him."

"Neither do you. Natasha, he isn't who you think he is he is messing with your mind." He said standing up to walk toward her. "I heard it all last night, he did something to you, I don't know what but he messed with your memories."

"That's impossible," She laughed. "No one on earth has that type of technology, we don't even have a portable telephone, much less a memory eraser. You have been reading too many fantasy novels, it's a good thing you won't be doing any of that here,"

"Don't you want to know the truth about who you are? You don't have to live in fear! He can't control you for the rest of your life." He said sternly. "I can help you escape."

"I am not the one in prison here Captain, by the looks of it you have nothing to give me, so stop with you childish words and come to bed with me," She said with a pout on her lips. Steve, no matter his ideals, was still a man, but he couldn't do that to Natasha, he had a mission he needed to complete. "Why must you make this so difficult for yourself?" She groaned in annoyance.

"I am not going to be your toy, Natasha," he claimed. "You need to know who you are, I can help you with that if you just give me a chance to tell you what I heard."

"Must be the effects of your food strike." She said rolling her eyes. "Pathetic really, this just proves you should stop ignoring my advice," Steve knew those screams were real, they were too heart-clenching to be from his own mind.

"It's like you don't listen. I can set you free!" He said in frustration. "I know what I heard Natasha,"

"You know nothing. You don't know a thing about me, or what I believe in. You are now just wasting my time. " She groaned walking away, Steve following close behind. "you obviously have no information for my father or me, and he will not be back for two weeks I was hoping we could have some fun but alas-"

"I have information, the kind that will help you," He repeated.

"tell me about Fury's group," she said. "Who is in the group?" She asked. "This is the only information you can give me that will help me." Steve didn't see why it would help, even giving up the groups names wouldn't do a thing.

"Fury only wants to stop your father. Believe it or not, he doesn't have a plan just yet." He claimed. "If I tell you this will you let me talk?" He asked.

"Again, it depends on the information you give me." He sighed weighing his options. There was a chance that this couldn't work, that he couldn't change Natasha's heart no matter how much he wanted to.

"Fury doesn't have a plan." He said, he'd rather risk it and save her life. He needed her to see that he trusts her, even if he didn't know all of the information. "he sent me and the howling commandos in to get information and he didn't tell us a thing. Believe it or not, Fury doesn't share his plans very often."

"the group Steve, who is in the group?"

"I don't know."

"What?" she asked raising an eyebrow as if she didn't believe him.

"We haven't had a mission together, I don't know who is actually in the group, but I know one!"He said remembering one person.

"His name?" she asked. "And how can he help me?"

"Tony Stark," She smirked, she knew stark was apart of the group. "he is an old friend, I know he is apart of the group, he is the mechanic he creates our suits." Steve knew everyone in the group, but he figured giving up Tony would do her no good, everyone knows about Tony Stark, he was a rich, playboy, billionaire, he wasn't exactly a secret. He was practically untouchable.  Bruce and Thor, however, had more of a need to be kept a secret.

"See now was that so hard?" She smirked taking his hand back in her own. "Now lover boy, what is it you so badly needed to tell me?"

Tony was laying against a tree whistling away as Thor scouted out the area. Bruce was going over the plan to him, but he had no real interest in it. What was there to know? It was a pretty simple plan in his mind. "Tony, are you even listening?"

"No Bruce I am not listening, You should know that by now." Tony laughed. "You know if you do your super cool party trick this mission would have already been done! What is the point of having that ability if you won't use it!"

"The point is so we are undercover Tony." bruce said shaking his head.

"Thor is a freaking God!" Tony said. "That we are the only ones who know about by the way! This is the longest I have ever kept a secret."

"You are no help to us," Bruce muttered.

"Excuse me but who made our car? And who exactly made sure we were hidden from all surveillance camera? Oh right me!" Tony said using his arms to make grand jesters. Bruce stood and pointed beyond the bushes.

"That is where Steve is, less than a fourth of a mile away, so would you mind keeping your voice down!" He said in a stern voice.

"Relax! No one is here! it's only the girl and Steve! There are no guards around us for-" Tony's voice was cut off by an arrow flying by him, barely missing his face. Both men followed the arrows line of impact and saw it almost go completely into the tree.

"Stark!" A deep voice yelled just passed the tree, "We have company!"

"Yeah, Thor I can see that!" He yelled back. All three men were looking around for any sight of the man who fired the arrow but no one could be seen. "Maybe someone was playing archery and it flew this way by accident."

"You don't really believe that do you?" Bruce asked raising an eyebrow.

"No, but I hoping for the best," Tony responded.

"You three are complete idiots coming here," Someone spoke, the voice seemed as if it's coming from all around them.

"Maybe we should have brought the howling commandos," Tony whispered to bruce.

"If your here to rescue the captain I can assure you that won't happen. My friend isn't done with him just yet." Suddenly behind them, a man jumped down, a bow in hand aiming at the Tony, who was in the middle. The men turned around and there was an automobile gasp from Thor.

"Sir Clinton!"

"I am sorry Thor but do you know the man who is currently trying to kill us?" Tony asked raising an eyebrow.

"Ay! We met when I arrived on this Earth." Thor said and they noticed Clint has put down his bow.

"Thor! What are you doing here!" He asked Bruce and Tony confused why this man was no longer trying to kill them.

"We are here to rescue our friend," he said.

"Steve Rogers? Of course, he is your friend." he rolled his eyes. "Why is Fury getting involved with this again! I told him I would handle this mission."

"Hold up, can someone explain to me why this guy, who is dressed head to toe with Ivan's gang sign!" He asked. "We tried to kill us two minutes ago!"

"Do you guys not know?" He asked, "Fury really doesn't tell you guys anything, does he? I have been in an undercover mission for a few years now. I was sent in to protect Natasha Romanoff, Fury's adoptive daughter. "
