Now

*After Emerald said that, Blake looked as if she was slapped again for a second time this moment. She took several steps back and sat down on the waiting couch. She looked as if she was gonna throw up. Ruby was completely calm about this, since well. She wasn't the one who was hurt by the revelation*

Ruby: Man. Ain't that something? That girl really has some trust issues if she kept that from her team for years

Emerald: Tell me about it. I didn't even know that she kept it a secret from them. That's fucked up

*Emerald and ruby whispered towards themselves, meanwhile in the background. Blake eyes were trembling, after everything they been through, everything that happened in that event. The fact that one of her closest friends kept her sister, almost girlfriend and herself in the dark, made her feel sick*

Ruby: Hm. Well, you should get going. You two started this mess. Now I'm the one stuck with a mop to clean it up

* Ruby said with a bit of a sigh. Emerald took that as her cue, grabbed the case, and gave a goodbye wave to ruby*

Emerald: Alright. I'll get out of your hair. Good luck with all of... that

Ruby: Thanks. Don't be a stranger, though

*Ruby said kindly, emerald gave a polite nod and left the shop. Ruby sighed, knowing that she won't get to go to the museum today. She wheeled to Blake and sat down next to her. Blake was having an internal panic attack, as she could barely register that she was pulled to her side, into something soft, something that smelled nice*

Ruby: Wandering child of the earth
Do you know just how much you're worth?

*Ruby started to sing softly as she petted Blake's hair on her lap. Ruby closed her eyes and kept singing softly*

Ruby:You have walked this path since your birth. You were destined for more

*Ruby sang softly. There was a bit of pain in her voice as she sang. since this song meant more to her than anyone would ever know*

Ruby:  There are those who'll tell you you're wrong. They will try to silence your song, but right here is where you belong. So don't search anymore...

*Blake started to calm down a little from her panic attack and realized what was happening. She wanted to get up and apologize to Ruby, but she couldn't.  It felt too good to be pampered like this, and she didn't want it to stop*

Blake" God, I'm pathetic..."

Meanwhile

*We are inside a dirty looking shack. Where a mother was holding her daughter tightly, both had fresh tears in their eyes for very different reasons, as the mother sang*

Mother: You are the dawn of a new day that's waking a masterpiece still in the making The blue in an ocean of grey

*The mother sang softly as she tried to console the crying little girl. The girl whimpered softly as she cuddled closer to her mother's warmth

Mother: You are right where you need to be Poised to inspire and to succeed
You'll look back, and you'll realize one day

*The mother sang softly, she cleaned the Little girl's tears, not doing a lot of good, since it would be replaced by her own, falling down on her*

Mother: In your eyes, there is doubt
As you try to figure it out, but that's not what life is about. So have faith. There's a way

* The mother sang, as she couldn't stop silently crying as she sang. Seeing what those men took from her daughter, seeing the bandages on her daughter's head. It was sickening*

Mother: Though the world may try to define you It can't take the light that's inside you. So don't you dare try to hide. Let your fears fade away

*The mother sang, as the little girl stopped to whimper and started to fall asleep. All the mother could do is hope and pray that the wounds don't get infected. She did her best sewing the wounds shut*

Mother: You are the dawn of a new day that's waking a masterpiece still in the making The blue in an ocean of grey

*but she honestly didn't know what was worse, wanting her daughter to survive so that she could continue to live in this hell, or that she dies and is finally free from the suffering*

Mother: You are right where you need to be Poised to inspire and to succeed
You'll look back, and you'll realize one day...

*The mother sang softly as she carried the little girl into their dirty shared bed. And laid here there, the mother laid down next to her, and kept singing, to make sure her daughter's dreams were peaceful at least*

Mother: You are the dawn of a new day that's waking a masterpiece still in the making The blue in an ocean of grey

*The mother sang softly. As she rubbed the little girl's cheek ever so softly to not wake her up, the mother felt a deep unending sadness since she could do nothing to protect her child*

Mother: You are right where you need to be Poised to inspire and to succeed
Soon, you'll finally find your own way

*Summer said softly, as she kissed little Ruby's temple, and went to sleep with her, knowing that both will be worked to the bone, when they wake up*

Summer: Don't worry. I'll figure a way for us to be free...

Back to the present

*Ruby looked down at Blake, just like her tiny self, Blake fell asleep from the song and the gentle tone of Ruby's voice. Once Ruby knew Blake was asleep, she allowed herself to give out a shaky, sad breath. As she cleaned a tear that was falling from her face*

Ruby, " I miss you, mom. You would've loved Penny or dad heh. I think you would've really liked dad, "

*Ruby thought with a breathless chuckle, wondering what summer would say about all of this. What would she say about her? All thoughts that Ruby doesn't want to get into. So she got comfortable and took a nap with Blake*

Later, after Chibi Ruby and Chibi Blake had their nap and even cuddled a little

*Blake squirmed as she opened her eyes. She saw Ruby looking down at her. She was still petting her hair. Ruby gave Blake a crooked smile, as she spoke*

Ruby: Hey, feeling better?

Blake: a little. I'm...I'm sorry. You shouldn't have to deal with this crap

*Blake said softly as she pushed herself away from ruby and sat up straight. Ruby shrugged and stretched a bit, giving a rather big dog style yawn that blake found cute.*

Ruby: I'm not gonna blame you for getting emotional. After what emerald told you. What happened before, yes? But not what happened after

Blake: But I made you sing that song...

* Blake said softly. She shook her head a little as she hugged herself as she spoke. Since she knew about that song. She knew where Ruby heard it. She knew who sang it to her. She knew how much it meant to her. Blake stopped her mental panic when she felt Ruby's hand on her shoulder*

Ruby: Blake. Calm down and listen to me. Make sure these words get trapped in your mind, and use it to shield yourself from those negative thoughts you are no doubt having. It. Is. Ok. Now breathe with me

*Ruby said in a soft but firm voice, Blake nodded and breathed in and out with ruby till she was calm down enough to hold a conversation*

Blake: t.. thanks.

Ruby: You're welcome. And, no more "I'm sorry" for now, ok?

*Ruby said with a bit of a chuckle as she placed herself back on her wheelchair. Blake just nodded as she watched Ruby, so that. She looked at the clock and winced*

Blake: we won't make it to the museum before it closes.

Ruby: No, we really won't. We'll go next Friday. It won't be as much fun since the weapons will be gone. But there's still so many beautiful paintings and sculptures available for us to watch

* Ruby said with a polite smile that looked so much like a smile Weiss would have. Blake was really seeing how much of an atlas girl ruby has become. She bit down on her lower lip before she spoke again*

Blake: I'm so... I...I don't know what to say, since it's my fault that you missed it

Ruby: it's not the end of the world. There's still the weapon's expo in a couple of months. Ruby rose

*Ruby said with a dismissive wave, as she started to close up her shop and put on the security system. Blake didn't see it, but she had multiple red dots. Ruby glanced at her and then back at the monitor*

Ruby: and guest

*Ruby said, as all the weapons disappeared back into their hiding spots, Blake being none the wiser of what almost happened*

Blake: Oh. Uh. I can take you there. I..if you want

Ruby: That's cute. But I'm a keynote speaker. And I've got an all expenses paid pass for the weekend event

* Ruby said with a sigh, not at Blake mind you, it's simply that going to the expo is more of an obligation, as the creator of penny. Then something fun, it was fun at first, but that was a long time ago.

Blake: Oh. Can I uh, can I still go with you?

Ruby: Sure, you can be my plus 1, but you'll have to be my spokesperson. Aka, my robots will fight you

*Ruby said as she wheeled herself to the door and moved her head at Blake to come with her. Blake flinched and quickly got up, walking next to her*

Blake: sounds like something yang would like. But if I can spend time with you, I would like that. I would like that very much

Ruby: That's nice to hear. Well. Since the day is still young. How about we just go for a walk to the park? My favorite one is not far from here.

*Ruby said, as the automatic doors opened and both ruby and Blake walked out, with ruby closing with lock and key. With a nod, they were off, with Blake following behind ruby nervously*

Blake: s.. sure, s..so, how was your day?

Ruby: same as always. The same as yesterday, but something did happen in the morning, while I was leaving my gated community

Flashback

*She put on her headphones and turned on her music, as she wheeled to her cafe to start her day right. Or she almost made it out*

Karen: Ah! Mrs. Ironwood! A moment of your time!

Ruby" goddamn it, not her"

*Ruby thought, not even her golden retriever heart wanted to deal with this woman. She sighed and turned her chair around with a very plastic fake smile, seeing the woman and former president of the HOA, Karen Smith*

Ruby: Hello Mrs. Smith, how can I help you today?

Karen: Well, I am glad you asked. You see, I have a petition here for you to sign!

*Karen said a little too loudly, Ruby grabbed the paper in question. It was a petition to bring Karen back to the presidency. What Karen doesn't know, it was that Ruby was unintentionally responsible for Karen having to step down. Ruby gave Karen a strained smile*

Ruby: Mrs. Smith, this is the 5th time you've tried this. Nothing is going to change. Why keep trying?

Karen: Absolutely not! I was robbed of that position! And since I've left, this gated community has been on a deep decline!

*Karen said a bit too loudly, showing the reason why she lost her position. Since she screamed at Ruby, till she made the mistake of making Ruby cry, when her father was around. And ironwood didn't take too kindly do that*

Ruby: ..... And what do you mean by that?

Karen: Well... It's just obvious! This place used to be for only people of atlas! A home away from home! But now? I've heard that a few people from vacuo are coming to live here, vacuo!

*Karen, the wolf faunus yelled, no longer talking too loudly, now she was yelling. Ruby wrote a fake name on the paper, knowing that she won't look at it. And gave it back to Karen, just so she'll leave her alone*

Ruby: Hmm. And I'm sure it has nothing to do, with them being fox faunus, right?

Karen: Why, of course not. Why would I care about a bunch of sorry looking
skeletons with a tail that forever says
with a despairing expression of misery. Of course, I don't think that they're so disgusting that even fleas would ignore them, nothing more than a lowly coward with teeth so jacked up that the rest of its face is constantly apologizing for it

*Karen said in a low growl, ruby glanced behind the wolf faunus, and saw her Raven faunus husband, walking up to her*

Ruby: That certainly is something. Well, I need to get going. Got work to do, and all of that

Karen: Oh yes, yes. Have a nice day

*Karen said dismissively, ruby wheeled herself as fast as she could out of the gated community, but she could still hear Karen scream, at what ruby wrote*

Karen: GO SUCK A LEMON?!!!!!

Back to the present

*By the time Ruby finished telling the story, they made it to the park. Blake's mood was significantly better as she was laughing softly, at what Ruby wrote. Blake looked around, and her eyes widened a little. She's been to the park before, but never this side of it. It looks absolutely beautiful. *

* Ruby took her to a little pond in the park, and the pond was surrounded by flowers, mushrooms, trees, bushes, and even small wildlife.*

Blake: God, this place is beautiful.

Ruby: it is. You can thank ozpin and my father for it. Both of them push for conservation efforts on parks all over remnant, and this is one of the results. Hey, little buddy

*Ruby said with a smile. As a little frog jumped into her lap, both girls looked at it with wonder. For a moment, both felt as if they were little kids again, and Ruby dragged Blake to another super secret. "Super awesome adventure," as she would call it. "Little" Blake looked at "little" ruby. She may be more of an Atlas girl, but parts of the menagerie girl were still there inside of her.
