Blake:let's...let's skip a few years when I'm 10 and Ruby's 6 I remember this one time....

Now

Flashback

*We see Blake walking to the orphanage, she had a basket filled with Ruby's favorite treats, cookies, tuna melts, tropical punch, that kind of thing. She opened the door to the orphanage, and smiled at the old lady receptionist*

Mari:oh, Blake dear hello. Coming to see ruby again I see

Blake:yes miss Mari. Can I head in now? This is very heavy

*Blake said, her arms trembling a little. Mari gave a soft chuckle and nodded her head, Blake walked passed her inside deeper to the orphanages, also knowed in Blake's personal opinion, the most depressing place in the island. As Blake walked to Ruby's room, she had to walk passed orphaned children, mutilated faunus, some missing tails, ears, eyes, a whole lower jaw, you name it. Blake made it to Ruby's room, seeing the little rose and cat drawing on the door, she opened it and saw ruby there on the floor, her fist holding a crayon while she drew on the paper. Her room was small compared to Blake's room, it was smaller then Blake's closet. But at least ruby didn't have to share it with anybody*

Blake:hey ruby

Ruby:MH...

*ruby hummed to concentrate on her drawing to acknowledge Blake, ruby sniffed the air and stopped what she was doing, looking up with a bright smile*

Ruby:Blake!

Blake:heh, yes it me. Hi again

*Blake said with a crooked smile, finding it just adorable that Ruby's tail was wagging so fast seeing her. Ruby got up and. Started almost jumping up and down, seeing her friend again.*

Ruby;hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! I missed you! It's been soooooo long since you last visited!

Blake:ruby, I was here yesterday. Now stay....

*Blake said with a soft chuckle, seeing the ball of energy that was her friend, she petted the girl's hair, making ruby vibrate more, looking like she was gonna explode*

Ruby:i know, but yesterday was an eternity ago! So much can happen in a single day. Please....

Blake:not yet, stay...

*Blake said, finding enjoyment in teasing ruby, treating her a little bit like her own pet. Blake walked passed ruby, finding it adorable how ruby would whine. She placed the picnic basket on the nightstand, and sat down on the old uncomfortable bed, with opened arms, Ruby's tail looked as if it was gonna cause a small tornado, with how fast it was wagging*

Blake:ok, hug, uff!

*Blake said, as ruby crashed into her, with all her weight. Both of them fell on the bed, ruby was giggling, while Blake had a soft chuckle petting Ruby's head, as she rubbed it on Blake's chest*

Blake:god your so clingy

Ruby:I'm a canine, what do you expect?

*Ruby said, Blake blushed a little when Ruby's face pulled up, and started rubbing it on the crook of her neck.*

Blake as narrator

*Of course in hindsight I now understand that, that's when my feelings for ruby started to change, to a more...romantic feeling. But 9 year old me, didn't know the first thing about love, so I just ignored it, and gave a nervous smile at her*

Blake:o..ok, that's enough. T..the food is gonna get cold, and my mom made you some cookies

Ruby:cookies!!

*Ruby said in that excited voice that she always has, she lets go of me and goes straight to the basket. I felt a little sad, that she let go of me so quickly, I sat up and smile, looking at me, and then at basket. She was waiting for me to give her permission*

Blake:you can have the cookies, after you eat the tuna melt

Ruby:aw, but tuna sucks! It's so fishy!

*Ruby said with a whine, those butterflies in my stomach, changed into petty anger, since ruby just said the most offensive thing ever. Shut up yang, it is completely offensive*

Blake:tuna is delicious! Way better then your cookies!

Ruby:nuh uh!

Blake:yeah huh!

Ruby:nuh uh!

Blake:yeah huh!

*Yeah...this goes on for a while. So after another 5 minutes of such an intellectual conversation. Ruby and myself ended eating everything*

Blake:so, what were you drawing?

Ruby:oh! I was drawing your weapon!

*Ruby said excitedly, I looked at her confused, as she jumped off the bed and grabbed the piece of paper. She showed the crudely drawned weapon*

Blake:my weapon?

Ruby:yeah! Yeah! i call it Gambol Shroud!

Back to the present

Yang:wait....so your telling me, that your gambol shroud, was made by a 6 year old?

Blake;of course not, when we were older ruby build me gambol shroud, the drawing was just the first idea of it

*Blake said with a soft smile, remembering how excited ruby was when she gave Blake the weapon, she went to grab it, and then paled, looking absolutely horrified*

Blake:oh no, oh nonononono......

Yang:what's wrong?

*Yang asked, seeing Blake get up and look around for something. Blake's heart was beating so fast, she could hear it, as tears of frustration started to fall*

Blake:oh God... I left the gambol shroud at her counter.....

Yang:hey hey, it's gonna be fine. Look at me Blake, breath with me

* Yang said, as she grabbed blake by her shoulders, and did breathing exercises with her, Blake did a few breaths, calming down a little*

Blake:how....how am I gonna get it back? I can't just go back there...

Yang: we'll just get Weiss to get it for you.

*Yang said, and that just made things worse, Blake started to freak out again, borderline hyperventilating,

Blake:no!

*Blake yelled, and then did some calming breaths again, to calm herself, she forced herself to remain calm*

Blake:N...no. I don't want her to know about this....i don't want anyone to know about this

Yang:ok, ok, I'll go tomorrow and get it for you alright? No one has to know

*Yang said, as she guided Blake back do the table, but Blake shook her head, and walked do the door*

Blake:I'm sorry yang I.... I just need some fresh air

Yang:hey no problem, I'll come with you, you can keep telling me the story while we take a walk

*Yang said with that same smile she always has, Blake gave her a soft smile and gave a nod. Both of them left the Blake, with no real destination, Blake just needed to walk her feeling out of her system*

Back to the past

*We see ruby explaining all the cool gadgets, the Gambol shroud is gonna have, Blake couldn't help but find Ruby's excitement endearing. Their moment was interrupted, when the door was opened*

???:yo rose, wanna hang out?

Ruby:oh hey! Blake this is my new friend, say hi

*Ruby said, walking to the boy and grabbing his hand, dragging him inside. Blake looked at this boy with bright red hair, piercing blue eyes, well piercing blue eye singular, and two bull horns. Just like everyone else in the orphanage, he had an injury. One of his eyes was covered in bandages. *

Adam:uh, hi. I'm Adam Taurus

Blake:Blake belladonna. Are you new?

*Blake asked, and she saw Adam scowl, his hands were made into fist, as she saw his face change. There was darkness behind his eyes, and Blake found that attractive, seeing as this boy was clearly older than her*

Adam:yup, got rescued from a Schnee Dust camp the bastards

Ruby:what's a bastard?

*Ruby the youngest of the 3 asked looking at the two of them, the darkness in Adam's face left, and was replaced with an awkward look, as he scratched his cheek, trying to find a way to explain it to ruby*

Adam:......a word that I shouldn't have said in front of you. So never repeat it

Ruby:hm....ok!

*Ruby said smiling brightly as she realized something, both Adam and Blake finding it cute, seeing Ruby's tail wag extremely fast*

Ruby:Oh! Adam, look what I made, I drew you a weapon! Two of them actually!

Adam:really now? Let's see them

*Adam said with a soft chuckle, ruby walked to her nightstand, and took out two drawings showing them to Adam*

Ruby:ok! I call them Wilt and Blush. Wilt is like this super cool red sword that glows! And the scabbard is also a secret rifle, so that you can take your enemies by surprise! I promise, once I'm older I'm gonna make them for the two of you!

Time skip years

*Ruby was running for her life in the forest, she was getting cuts and bruises from all the branches that would hit her body. Ruby could see the harbor, she was almost free, all she needed to do is hide on one of the boats and...*

*Birds, and other animals ran away from the gunshot, as ruby fell on the ground, she held her side as she screamed in pain, blood quickly coming out of the wound. Ruby screamed even louder when someone stepped on her back, at the entrance hole. Ruby was crying as she felt a sword close to her neck*

Adam: there's no room for leaks in our organization rose. For what it's worth...I'm sorry about this. But you brought it to yourself

Back to the past

Adam:heh, I'll hold you do that. I would love to use them on some Schnee scu...on some bad people

*Adam said with a small chuckle, he sat down next to Blake, both just watching ruby explain all the aspects of what Adam's weapon will have. They couldn't have known that this was the start of a friendship that would last years, even if sadly the end of said friendship, will be a painful one for the youngest in the group*
