* We see her drinking a cup of water while she waits for her date. She was humming softly as she looked out the window. It was a rainy day today, raindrops falling softly against the window, as she watched the word drive past her*

???: Hey, sorry I'm late. Blake was being a clingy bitch

Ruby: I don't love that you called her that.

*Ruby said gently as she looked at her date, it was ilia, team leader of team IWBY, and hater of cats. Of course this was just a friend date. So for those who thought otherwise, shame on you. Ilia sat on the chair and shrugged*

Ilia: I'm just calling it like I see it, she was whining that she wanted to go with me, after I told her, I would be coming to see you

Ruby:....Where you smug when you said that to her?

*Ruby said with a small smirk she shook her head, when she saw the smirk on ilia's head. A smirk so big that her own smirk paled in comparison to ilia's big smug smirk

Ilia:.... I might've been a little smug. Yes, I admit that.

Ruby:Then, it sounds like this is more on you than on her

*Ruby said with a shrug. As the waitress came with a plate of food. A huge plate of Texas style BBQ. beef ribs, pork ribs, briskets, sausages, smoked turkey. Basically, a plate filled with meat.*

* Ruby didn't even wait. She started eating it aggressively, while Ilia ignored the food and shrugged, as she kept the conversation going*

Ilia: Yeah. Look, I get this crap from my sister. Can I not get it with you?

Ruby: Yeah, fine. So how have you been?

*Ruby said as juices of the meat fell from her chin. Ilia took out a napkin and cleaned Ruby's chin, making the younger girl whine*

Ilia: Stressed. Ever since... I learned the truth, I've been less than happy with Blake

Ruby: I can imagine that. I wasn't too happy with her for a long time

*Ruby said with a nod. As she kept eating, he left nothing on the bone. Quite literally kicking it dry. Ilia did raise her eyebrow at her in curiosity*

Ilia: How did you get over it? She's my teammate, I need to get over it. Before it starts affecting our team

Ruby: There is no fast solution. But what I did was a mix of meditation, yoga, and sightseeing

*Ruby said as she remembered all the places her dad took her too. She was quick to stuff her face with as much meat as possible before ilia asked her another question: "

Ilia: Sightseeing?

Ruby: Mhm.

*Ruby said with a nod. As she swallowed all the food in her mouth, ilia looked at her with concern. Since she looked like she was gonna choke. Ruby grabbed her glass of water and washed it all down*

Ruby: Ah. There we go. And yeah. Sight seeing. My dad took me to see the world, It really did help me put things into perspective

Ilia: Yeah, well. I'm a hunter. I do enough sight seeing as it is.

*Ilia said dismissively as she took a piece of sausage. Or tried to, she pulled her hand back when Ruby started to growl at her. Once the hand was away from Ruby's precious, she smiled again like nothing happened, but she did give a quick glare*

Ruby: My meat. and no, you don't.

Ilia: I'm sorry?

*Ilia asked surprised, she was a world-class hunter. She has been everywhere in the globe, and one time on the shattered moon, one wild night when yang convinced her and the rest to go to this party. But Ruby just shook her head*

Ruby: That's no you don't. You work, you don't go sightseeing. Since that's supposed to be relaxing. When was the last time you were relaxed while working?

Ilia:.....ok fair. So what? Are you saying that I should take a solo vacation? Since that doesn't sound that bad, if I'm honest.

*Ilia said with a hum. Her eyes widened as she looked down, ruby already finished the food, they hadn't been talking for even 10 minutes, and all that was left was the bone. And had was licking one of the bones. Ilia looked at had, with her eyes as wide as saucers*

Ruby: What? I'm a canine faunus. Most of my exercise is weight lifting, I need the protine, and I refuse to get it with pills or with protein shakes. I go the all natural way

Ilia: Fair enough.... But still, though

*Ilia said with a chuckle. Ruby just smiled brightly at her. As she waved her hand. The waitress came and took the tray away, refilling Ruby's water*

Ruby: Anyways, I wouldn't say solo. I'm sure Weiss would just love to come with you~

Ilia: Cheeky little puppy, aren't you?

*Ilia said with a giggle, as a small blush starts to grow on her face, thinking of what she and Weiss could do, alone on a tropical island*

Ruby: Thank you~ but now let's change the subject. You will not believe how overprotective my father is being

Ilia: What did he do? And isn't he in atlas?

*Ilia asked in a more relaxed tone while at the back of her mind. An image of Weiss having a bikini trouble pop up, making the chameleon girl have a goofy smile*

Ruby: he's here on a mission. But ever since Blake took me to the library, he's always been keeping an eye out for me. He thinks that 1 I can't take care of myself. And that 2 I shouldn't be giving Blake the time of day, let alone hang out with her

Ilia: I can't say I disagree on the second point

*Ilia said, as the mention of Blake. Ruined her mood instantly. Ruby ignored her mood. And kept talking, since all of this casual small talk, was to get somebody to drop his guard*

Ruby: Agrees to disagree then. But honestly, all that's left is for him to be following me, with a big ridiculous black mustache, but he would never do that

Ilia: he wouldn't, huh?

*Ilia said with a small smirk. Since she saw what Ruby was doing. More specifically, she saw a man with a fake black mustache and a rain coat flinch*

Ruby: Nope. Because I'm sure he remembers that I'm a dog faunus, and I can smell him and that cologne I bought him, for his birthday a mile away

*Ruby said as she turned her head around and smiled at her father, waving at him. James gave an awkward wave back, and he walked towards them*

James:.....I'm just gonna pay for your meals and go

Ruby: thanks daddy, I love you

*Ruby said, smiling brightly as James kneeled down a little, to let Ruby kiss his cheek. She did, and he left to pay. Not before he got up and smiled at his daughter, saying something he doesn't say often enough, but is true every single time he says it*

James: I love you too

*James said as he turned around and walked away. Ruby smiled brightly, so brightly that she infected ilia with the same disease that winter and glynda have*

Ilia" I want to keep her as my pet"

Ruby: ok. He's gone. Now we can talk about the drunk incident

*Ruby said, as her smile returned to a smaller, more default smile, while Ilia just winced rubbing the back of her neck*

Ilia: Yeah. I owe you an apology. You shouldn't have seen me like that

Ruby: I think you owe one to Blake more than you do me, and that look on your face tells me that you don't want to do it

*Ruby said as when those words came out, of apologizing to Blake, ilia's face turned more and more sour, like she ate a sour lemon. Still, though, it didn't last. And ilia sighed a bit sadly*

Ilia: I do not. But I know I have to. I was already reprimanded by Yang, Weiss, and my mom. My mom! Do you have any idea how embarrassing that is?

Ruby: I'm gonna say yes to keep the conversation going. But you know you crossed a line. Tell me the truth, and think before you speak. Why are you so angry?

*Ruby said, taking a drink of her water. She waved at the waiter and ordered a desert. So they wouldn't get kicked out. While ilia took her thoughts in order. And it took a while. Ruby was halfway through her none dairy strawberry ice cream before ilia spoke again*

Ilia: I know that I crossed a line. I know that it's just....frustrating. The last person responsible for the scariest day of my life is my teammate

Ruby: I mean, I wouldn't say last. I was the one who built it

*Ruby said with a shrug, ilia snorted a little, and grabbed a spoon, taking a bite of her half melted non dairy strawberry ice cream*

Ilia: You know what I mean. Blake and me, we've been through a lot together in the last 7 years. She's one of my best friends. She's like a sister to me.... What do you do when you can't look at your sister without feeling angry at her?

*Ilia said softly, with a sad look in her eyes. She didn't want to feel this way. She knew she should forgive Blake, but something inside of her stops her from doing it. Ruby gave a small sigh with a nod. Since she knew how that felt,

Ruby:....I don't know. But I do know the first step. Therapy. I have this amazing therapist, I can give you her number if you want

Ilia: I would like that, thank you. Still, though. Why do you want to keep her a chance? Honestly.

*Ilia said, looking at ruby, she wanted to see her reaction. Ruby pursed her lips a little, thinking about it for a few seconds, before she spoke up*

Ruby: Honestly? I don't know. Maybe part of me missed her. Maybe I was just bored with my life. Maybe I still have romantic feelings for her. All I know is that despite the hurt she caused me before. I still can't seem to say goodbye

Ilia:....God that was bad

*Ilia said with a snort that turned into laughter, ruby laughed with her since she made it sound extra cheesy on purpose*

Ruby: Fuck you, like you don't talk like that about Weiss? Oh she's my snow white, oh how her skin is so smooth and perfect, oh her lips. Her lips are like a taste of heaven on earth

Ilia: Ok. Ok. I get it. But the real answer?

*Ilia said, calming down with a blush on her face, since Ruby's fake romantic things about Weiss, wasn't that far from the truth, of what she says about her. Ruby just took a deep sigh, and shrugged*

Ruby: The real answer probably cause I'm too nice to say no. And I really am kinda bored with my life. Don't get me wrong I'm happy with my life, I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

Ilia: But?

*Ilia asked, making ruby frown deeply, as she played with her fingers. She took a breath before she spoke what she felt*

Ruby: It's just... the same thing every day. I know some people would call that security. But I want to have more in my life. Maybe Blake will be a bad choice, but it's something. It's new. It's different.... Besides, she really did change. So not like I'm in any danger, of her betraying me like that again.

Ilia: I guess. Still, the reason sounds like something out of a bad romance fanfic

*Ilia said with a snicker. Ruby gave a dramatic gasp and gave a fake insulted look on her face, she even raised her head up like a snooty rich woman, which made ilia snicker even louder*

Ruby: Hey, my life is at least a decent trashy romance fanfic

Ilia: Ha, oh. I just remember, here's your shirt you left in our apartment a while back

*Ilia said, giving ruby a bag that had her shirt on it. Ruby's eyes widen in surprised, she completely forget shit that, she took it and looked inside of it. Sure enough, the shirt was there*

Ruby: Oh. Right. I gotta return Yang's sweater

Ilia: Eh, keep it. She already bought a replacement.

*Ilia said dismissively. She started to drum her fingers on the table, and Ruby looked at her with a raised eyebrow. Since the look ilia was giving her wasn't good*

Ruby: What's wrong?

Ilia: It's just....the shirt wasn't in Yang's room or in our dirty laundry

*Ilia said carefully. Ruby pursed her lips and nodded. She didn't have to think about where her shirt was last.

Ruby:.... I know where you're going with this. But I'm gonna pretend that I don't. Where was it?

Ilia: In Blake's room. Do you think

*Ilia started, but Ruby raised her hand to stop her from finishing those words.*

Ruby: Nope. We are not going there.

Ilia: But you think that she did?

*Ilia asked, in her mind. She already knows the answer. She knows that Blake is a closet pervert and wouldn't think twice about doing that. But ruby. Sighed, and put her hand down*

Ruby: I'm gonna put my trust that she didn't. Just like I'm putting my trust in Penny, that she isn't looking at us, through the Camaras, on the van that's parked outside or else I would be very disappointed

Meanwhile, with penny

Penny: Crap, she's on to us floor it!!

*Penny screamed as winter scrambled to put the keys on the ignition and quickly left as fast as possible, fast enough that they got a ticket because of it*

Later in team IWBY's apartment

*Ilia opened the door to her place and walked inside. See Blake there with red puffy eyes*

Ilia: Are you ok?

Blake: Do you even care?

*Blake said, not even having the energy to sound bitter and resentful. Angry nothing. She just sounded tired. Ilia opened and closed her mouth for a few seconds before she spoke. Her voice comes out in a soft tone*

Ilia:....I want to care

Blake: I...I lost something. Something that I know it wasn't mine, and now I don't know what to do. Had a panic attack a bit ago. Now that the high emotions are over. I'm just...blah

*Blake admitted as she ran her hand through her hair. She was so close to start yanking it out. She was terrified, thinking of which of the 3 other girls has the shirt. She honestly doesn't know why one is worse. Well, no, that's a lie. Ilia. Ilia would be the worst-case scenario.

Ilia:.... This wouldn't be Ruby's shirt, would it?

Blake:.... What did you do?

*Blake said in a cold tone. As she felt herself get a new sense of energy, mostly hatred. All of it was hatred  actually, but ilia remained firm and shrugged*

Ilia: I returned it to her.

Blake: Bullshit. I know you're angry at me, I know you put some crap inside her head. Now, what did you do?!

*Blake said loudly. As she got up, he walked towards ilia. Ilia took a step back, not scared. But definitely concerned, over Blake's behavior*

Ilia: I...I might've suggested that you used the shirt to masturbate

Blake: You WHAT!?

*Blake full-on yelled. She was absolutely livid, and there was no hiding it. Ilia wasn't about to take that tone and crossed her hands with a stern look on her face*

Ilia: Oh, come of it. We both know you did

Blake: That's not what I'm pissed about!

*Blake said loudly. Ilia raised an eyebrow, wondering if Blake realized what she unintentionally admitted.

Ilia: So you did use it for masturbation

Blake: Ilia, I swear I'm this close to slapping you

*Blake said with a growl. As she raises her hand, she shows how close her fingers are. They were one step away from touching, and ilia chuckled and started walking away*

Ilia: You're lucky you know

Blake: And why is that?!

*Blake yelled, angry that ilia wasn't taking her feelings seriously. But ilia shut her up real good, with what she said next.

Ilia: She said that you didn't

Blake:..... What?

*Blake said softly, as all the anger in her body just disappeared. Ilia nodded, not knowing if she should feel happy that she was right. Or feel bad for ruby, since her trust was misplaced*

Ilia: Yup. She's trusting that you didn't do something so creepy as sniffing her shirt to get off. A mistake on her part if you ask me

Blake: She... she trusts me?

*Blake repeated. She wasn't even listening to ilia anymore. She was just in her own little world, happy that she got Ruby's trust. But ilia brought her back to earth real quick*

Ilia: she does. I wonder how long you'll be able to live with that guilt. Well, whatever, I'm going to my room to watch some illegal movies on the Internet later

Blake: Wait!

*Blake said as she grabbed ilia's wrist.  Ilia looked at her rather annoyed, that she just grabbed her like that, and pulled her arm free from Blake*

Ilia: I'm not gonna tell her. That's not my business, and she's not a close enough friend for that. So calm down. And let me leave

Blake:... OK. I'm sorry.

*Blake said, as she let go of ilia. Ilia gave a small huff and left to her room, while Blake just sat back down, thinking on what she should do*

Blake:I.... She can never know what I did with that shirt....
