* Another day passed, another day came to replace it came. We see ruby knocking on the door of team IWBY's apartment. She and Weiss had an opera date. She's been dying to finally go. The door opened, and Ruby saw the smiling yellow dragon*

Yang:Hey! Rubes! Weiss is just finishing getting dressed. Come inside, How the hell are yah?

Ruby: Better. Now that your complex owner finally fixed that elevator

*Ruby said with a smile, as yang moved aside. Letting ruby wheeled herself inside. Yang smirked smugly, since she was there that day*

Yang: Yeah. I should thank you for that. The second blake told him that you were in a wheelchair. He was so scared of a lawsuit. That he paid for it to be repaired in a day

Ruby: I'm so glad. My lack of legs made his lazy ass actually do some work. So, plan on doing anything this evening?

*Ruby said drily with a smirk herself, though she did have mixed feelings for Blake using her name to fix the elevator. Even if her intentions were pure. They made it to the living room, where yang crashed on the sofa*

Yang: Hm...not really, It's kinda a slow night for me. I might just stay home and play some video games

Ruby: Really? Well, I just so happen to have an extra ticket

*Ruby said with an excited smile. As her tail started to wag, she's always up, for more people joining her in the beauty that is the opera. But the haunting look on Yang's face. Told her everything she needed to know*

Yang: Rubes. Come on. Do I look like the kind of girl who likes the opera?

Ruby: Have you ever gone?

*Ruby asked, and then snorted, when yang's haunting look became worse. She looked at Ruby with a raised eyebrow, not believing she just said that. Giving the one person they both know*

Yang: My teammate is Weiss schnee. What do you think

Ruby: That she blackmailed you into going with her

*Ruby said with a small smirk. It was Yang's time to snort, as she noted, thinking of all the time she was tortured by Weiss, all because she had dirt on her, that would've ruined her relationship with Blake*

Yang: Bingo. Trust me, it's not for me. What about penny?

Ruby: In atlas, for a few days. My dad assured me that it'll be a quick and easy mission this time

*Ruby said, as her smile became a little smaller. Not because she was scared for her daughter. No, not course not. She knows Penny can handle herself. She was just a little jealous, and that penny gets to have adventures like that. Yang's expression went back to normal as she looked at her with a curious expression*

Yang: Cool. So what are you gonna do with the ticket?

Ruby: I'll probably resell it. I can make 2 grand with the seat. This is on

*Ruby said casually. Yang's eyes go a little wide, at how casually ruby said 2 thousand, as if that wasn't a lot of money, as if it was pocket change, to her, she couldn't help but chuckle*

Yang: Damn. Rich kid syndrome right there. You said it as if a thousand dollars means nothing to you

Ruby: Well, to be fair. My business is doing fantastic, and I regularly invest my money in the stock market.

*Ruby said with a shrug, yang rolled her eyes, since like her father before her. She didn't trust the market since, like he said, " Only soulless creatures can actually win in the market," but seeing ruby was one of them. It made her question that theory*

Yang: Isn't that risky?

Ruby: Not when your daughter is a super intelligent self-aware artificial intelligence, who can predict where to buy with 95% accuracy

*Ruby said with an evil smirk. And Yang wasn't questioning that theory anymore. She knew her father was right, yang sat up straight and looked at ruby straight in the eyes*

Yang:.... Isn't that illegal?

Ruby: Show me the law, where it said that my specific case is illegal.

*Ruby said with a snicker. Yang thought about it for a moment. But then she realized that she didn't care. So she let it go and smirked at her*

Yang: Touche. But we are getting sidetracked. You know who would love it? You know her, you tolerate her. It's the kitty that's in her room right now

Ruby: Ah. Yeah. Blake..... To be honest, I'm pretty sure that she'll be glad to spend time with me, and not the opera. How is she doing, by the way?

*Ruby asked. After that little yelling match, both of them have been keeping quiet with the other. Just until they cooled off a little, Yang gave a genuine smile to this question: "

Yang: Better. Far, far better than before, she actually came with us to hang out with our other friends. You really should meet them. I bet you would love Nora

Ruby: I'm sure I will one day. But I just don't have the time. Like I said, business is good. I'm currently working on fixing and upgrading some hammer for a new client

*Ruby said absent-mindedly, both of them didn't realize that they were talking about the same person. Yang looked at ruby surprised, she didn't know that there was another hunter that used a hammer*

Yang: What a coincidence. My friend Nora also uses a hammer.

Ruby: Small world. Hey, uh. Blake and I screamed pretty loudly, last time we saw each other. So I know you and the rest heard us.

*Ruby said with an awkward crooked smile, yang scratched the back of her neck as she chuckled awkwardly. All of the team heard them, and they tried to pretend that they didn't, but seeing Ruby look at her. With those big eyes, it made it impossible for yang to lie to her*

Yang: We did. Again, thanks for that. That was really the kick in the pants r
Blake needed

Ruby: Yup, all it cost me was my mental energy for that day and the next. But that's not the point, I was going with this. I actually have a question about Blake

*Ruby said with a sigh. She pursed her lips a little when she finished talking. This wasn't really something she wanted to ask. But it was something she needed to know. Yang, for her part, looked rather confused by that*

Yang: Shoot.

Ruby: Has Blake....dated a lot of people after Adam?

*Ruby questioned, instantly. Ruby saw yang winced at the question. The once relaxed personality just left. As if it didn't exist. It was replaced with a more reserved one. Who looked kinda guilty*

Yang: Well.... She's dated a lot of people, but her only real serious relationship was with me

Ruby: I see. And how did that go?

*Ruby asked. Yang pursed her lips a bit as she thought of her relationship as a whole. And how it ended. With her in the arms of winter schnee. She coughed and decided to just bite the bullet. And say the truth*

Yang:.... With me cheating on her

Ruby: Damn.

*Ruby said, surprised, that yang could say something as horrible as infidelity, so casually. It was nothing that big. Yang just nodded before she kept talking, remembering more and more. Of her old  relationship with Blake*

Yang: Yeah. I want to say that I was drunk. But I wasn't. We had problems, and I needed a stress relief

Ruby: What type of problems?

*Ruby asked, curious, of the situation that made the relationship crash and burn. Yang rubbed the back of her neck in thought. It wasn't often that she felt uncomfortable. But right now? Ruby was kinda making her uncomfortable. Making yang open old wounds*

Yang: A lot, we were just not the right match for each other. But we were too stubborn to admit it, so we just doubled down on our relationship

Ruby: I take it, that It did not work

*Ruby asked, and Yang nodded. She admits that she wasn't the best partner for Blake, romantically. As she gave an awkward crooked grin to the puppy girl*

Yang: Not even a little. With her always hiding things from me and me being.... Well, me. That relationship crashed and burned

Ruby: That's not really fair. You said one reason from Blake : why couldn't she make it work. But you kept yourself vague

* Ruby said with her eyes squinting a little. Really showing that she's ironwood's daughter. Yang. Chuckled a little, her mood becoming better, by Ruby's funny reaction*

Yang: Heh. You know, now I'm seeing the resemblance to your father. Fine, for me. Is that I never really took our relationship seriously. I would always flake out on the mushy emotional stuff. And only wanted the physical aspect of a relationship

Ruby: And when did she stop giving it to you?

*Ruby said, implying when Blake stopped having sex with yang. Yang just shrugged and looked out at the window in thought of the girl she used to be. And she doesn't like it, she likes even less, that she feels, she hasn't changed all that much from her. But that was something to keep in the back of her mind for now.

Yang: I was just stupid. That's what happened. I thought I could get away with it without getting caught. But I didn't. She caught me with Weiss's sister. And then we had a really messy break up. Almost destroyed the team

Ruby: That's... That's pretty shitty I'm not gonna lie

*Ruby said awkwardly. Yang nodded in complete agreement, and she shrugged again for a response. She even chuckled softly*

Yang: I was a teenager, what do you want from me? I was stupid. And I thought I was hot shit. Can you name me a single person who wasn't an asshole when they were young

Ruby: Fair. Hm....  Excuse me

*Ruby said as she turned her chair around. And started wheeling herself to the hallway of the penthouse. Yang got up and followed her. For a bit, to see what she was gonna do*

Yang: Where are you heading?

Ruby: Eh, reselling the ticket is gonna be a pain. So I'm just gonna ask Blake if she wants to go. At least I won't be alone, while Weiss is busy with her girlfriend

* Ruby said with a small smirk, hearing yang stop walking. She snickered when the time of the yellow dragon's voice changed*

Yang: They are not dating! Why does everyone say that they are?!

Ruby: Because they would make a fantastic couple. But that's really none of my business. It was nice talking to you, Yang

*Ruby said, trying to control her snickering. Yang sighed softly and nodded. She turned around and started going back to the living room to crash on the couch again and play some games*

Yang: Likewise. But I am serious. Of you meeting our friends one day!

Ruby: I'll have to check when I'm available. Later

*Ruby said as she walked herself to Blake's room. Their penthouse really is enormous. As for yang, once she crashed on the couch, the thought of somebody came into her mind. Someone she also hurt, not as much as blake. But she still did, lying to her, saying that she was single*

Yang" Hm....wonder what winter is doing right about now, anyways"

With Blake

*We see her taking some deep breaths. She was currently doing some meditation to help her mind calm down and not overthink everything. She took another smell of the starlit skies candles she got from Walmart. Before she heard the knock on her door, she sighed, annoyed *

Blake: For the last time, yang. I don't want to play some games with you!

Ruby: What about going to the opera with me?

*Ruby asked on the other side of the room, and she chuckled when she heard Blake scramble to get up*

Blake: R... Ruby!

*Ruby heard Blake Yelp as she quickly opened the door, where Ruby could see what she was wearing. Which was a sports bra and a pair of yoga pants. Ruby could admit that Blake looked hot in that outfit. But she just smiled at her*

Ruby: Um. Hi.

Blake: H...Hi. W..what are you doing here? It's not Friday

*Blake said nervously. It was a happy nervousness, seeing ruby there. She was all dolled up, she knows it's impossible. That ruby would never do it. But a small part of her hopes that Ruby is dressed like that, had her make-up done, and her hair done,just for her. But reality quickly set in as Ruby spoke*

Ruby: As surprising as this might seem Blake, I don't come here just for you. Me and Weiss are going to the opera. She's taking ilia, and I was supposed to bring penny, but she's busy. So I was wondering if you would like to come with me

Blake:.... Would this count as us. Spending time together. To be more specific, if I say yes. Are we still gonna hang out on Friday?

*Blake said in a soft tone as she held her doorframe. She wanted to spend time with ruby, always, without question. But she had things planned for Friday. The small smile and nod that Ruby gave her made Blake feel relieved*

Ruby: Yes. But I would calm down, I can tell you are already overthinking things.

Blake: I..I'll try. And yes. I would love to go with you, just let me take a shower, and put on something appropriate for the event. I have the perfect outfit for it.

*Blake muttered. As she walked inside and started blowing out the candles, Ruby was not proud of this. But Blake had to bend down to blow on a candle. And Ruby got a perfect image of Blake's sweaty....backside*

* Ruby didn't notice that Blake was glancing at her, Blake blushed and looked back at the candles, feeling her heart rate going faster and faster. By the action of ruby, checking her out, and if she dares hope, the idea that ruby still finds her attractive. Ruby looked another direction and coughed, with a light blush on her face*

Ruby: Great, well I'll be in the living room while I wait for you, ilia and Weiss to be ready. Might as well play with yang

Blake: I should warn you. She's a sore looser and a lousy winner. Whenever she loses, she makes up excuses and demands. Not asks, but demands another game

*Blake said, having Vietnam flashbacks, of when she plays games....with yang. She finished with the candles and started looking for a towel. She missed the raised eyebrow that Ruby gave her*

Ruby: And if she wins?

Blake: she gets smug and starts talking shit about how she's better than the rest, and if she can give you some pointers

*Blake said with a sigh. As she found everything she needed, she left her room. She walked next to Ruby as the bathroom was close to the hallway. Ruby thought about her options for a second before she shrugged*

Ruby: hm....better than the alternative, of being bored. I'll leave you to get ready

Blake: Right. And uh...t.. thanks for inviting me.

*Blake said softly with a smile on her blushing face. Ruby just nodded and gave her a small smile back as she wheeled away. Once she was away, Blake walked inside the bathroom and closed the door. She leaned against it, holding her hands in her chest and letting a small squeal escape her lips*

Scene change

*We see Ruby, Blake, ilia, and Weiss enjoying the opera. They were both in different box seats, though enjoyment might be a bit of a stretch for 2 members of the outing. Ilia felt as if she was being tortured. The only reason she hasn't cracked yet is because Weiss promised a make-out session in the intermission. As for Blake, she was holding better than ilia, but not by much, and she didn't have the luxury of kissing bribes to keep her from breaking. But she did get the best next thing. When she felt some weight on her lap. She looked down and imagined her surprise when she saw a book on her lap. With a little note attached to it. She looked at Ruby. Whose eyes were glued to the show, and then read the note*

Note: I figured the opera wouldn't be for you. But as a thank you for keeping me company, I brought this for you to read

*Blake smiled, feeling touched that ruby thought of her, and relief that she had something to entertain herself. So  with a smile, she opened the book, while Ruby enjoyed the opera*

Opera: The time is right, your perfume fills my head The stars get red, and, oh, the night's so blue And then I go and spoil it all By saying somethin' stupid like, "I love you"

Blake" I love you..."
