Friday

*It was Friday, and we see ruby still in her shop, she hasn't left since Tuesday. Since fixing Penny's body took longer than she was expecting. We see her with her head on the table sleeping. Once the clock hit 8 a clock. Penny's voice could be heard through the speakers*

Penny: momma, wake up!!

Ruby:mh....noooooooo.

*Ruby bemoaned, as she keeps her head on the table, and continued to sleep. Penny huffed and turned on the emergency alarms*

Ruby: I can sleep through this!

*Ruby complained, and she tried, Good Lord did she tried. She got about 30 seconds before she gave up, and sat up straight groaning. Penny smiled and turned the alarms off, putting a gif of Robin Williams on the screen of the laptop*

Penny: like robin Williams once said, gooooood morning Vietnam!!

Ruby:morning baby girl. God I slept awful, this chair is really not made for sleeping

*Ruby said as she stretched and twisted her back, until she heard the air bubbles from her back pop. Ruby took a deep breath, before she turned her chair around to see the screen of her daughter*

Ruby:so. Ready to get your body today? I'm almost done, just gonna fix the flights stabilizers and it'll be done

Penny:yup! But first you gotta go eat

Ruby: oh, I'll eat when I finish. It won't take long

*Ruby said dismissively, she tried to open the drawer where she keeps her tools, but it was locked. Ruby looked at penny annoyed, since it has an electronic lock, meaning penny was locking out*

Penny:momma. I mean it. Go eat, get some fresh air. Me and the body will still be here when you get back

Ruby: come on baby, don't do me like this is just an hour, hour and a half max

*Ruby said as she pulled on the drawer, trying to open it by force. But it wouldn't budge. Penny looked at her mother with a raised eyebrow*

Penny: you said that when you started. Now go eat, or I'll call grandpa

Ruby:.....fffffffffffiiiiiiiiiineeeee

*Ruby whined, she took off all her clothes, and wheeled herself to the emergency shower of her shop, that she built for cases just like this where she pulls an all nighter*

Ruby: penpen, put on my playlist while I shower

Penny:yes momma

*Penny said as she hit shuffle and the song started to play on the speakers. Ruby took a breath enjoying the hot water, hit her body as the music plays*

Speakers: Desde el cielo todo es más bonito Déjame llevarte a las estrellas otra vez Como la noche de ayer

(From the sky everything is more beautiful Let me take you to the stars again Like last night)

Ruby: Spanish music it is then

*Ruby said out loud, as he took her loofa and started to clean herself, while penny just listened to the music with enjoyment, what once started as confusion over why people enjoyed music, now was an obsession, since he now gets the appeal of it*

Speakers: Vámonos a Marte donde nadie vaya a buscarte Ni a ti ni a mí
Donde todo es más callado y solitario pa los dos Donde no hay nadie más que tú y yo

Scene change

*We see ruby pressing the button that automatically opened the doors to the cafe, and wheeled herself inside*

Velvet:oh! Hello ruby, haven't seen you in a few days

Ruby:yeah, I've been busy with a big project. It's almost done, my... Family, all but forced me to eat something first.

*Ruby said with a crooked smile, since she can't say her daughter made her eat, that would bring way to many questions. Velvet nodded, giving ruby a peanut butter cookie, making ruby gasp and smile brightly, with her tail wagging as she ate it*

Velvet: well, have a cookie while you wait, what will it be today?

Ruby:hm. I'll have the special, but triple it, I'm starving. Kinda got to into my work, and forgot to eay yesterday.

*Ruby said with a shy smile. Glad that Coco isn't here today, since the fashionista would be scolding her right about now, just for saying that*

Velvet: you got it. Just head to your usual table, and I'll bring it to you

Ruby: thanks vel. Your a doll as always

*Ruby said with a smile, as she took another bite of her cookie. Since it wasn't a small one. No, it was a jumbo cookie. Ruby wheeled herself to her table and waited. She took a breath, and spoke to the booth behind her*

Ruby:you can stop hiding Blake. I know you're there. I don't know why you keep hiding, when you know I can smell you

Blake:.....

*Blake slowly sat back up straight, as the other member of her team put down the menus from there faces. Yang was the first one to get up and sit on Ruby's table*

Yang:hey rubes, been a while. How've you been?

Ruby: can't complain. Been busy with this penny project. I'm sure you all know about it

*Ruby said calmly, Weiss was the next to sit with ruby, much to Blake's jealousy. She took the seat next to her. Ruby smiled, since it's been a long while, since she's seen Weiss*

Weiss:yes. How's it fairing?

Ruby: almost complete. Just need to fix one more thing and I'm done. What are you girls up to?

*Ruby asked, as the other two swapped seats, and sat at Ruby's table, Blake was filled with more jealousy, since ilia took the sit in front of ruby*

Yang:oh. We're gonna hang out with some friends of us. Your welcomed to come, I'm sure they would love to meet you. Especially Nora

Ruby:mh....maybe another time, I really need to finish the project.

*Ruby said with a crooked smile, the canine part of her wanted to go, to meet new people. But penny came first, and she's almost done anyways. Ilia had an idea*

Ilia: well, how about after your done?

Ruby: oh, I wouldn't want to be a bother

*Ruby said, with a nervous chuckle, but ilia was persistent, and did something that made Blake want to scratch her eyes out. She grabbed Ruby's hand*

Ilia: no, no, think about it. Blake can go with you to your shop. But after that, you'll be in a group, and won't have to be alone with her

Blake: I'm right here

*Blake said with a sigh, ilia looked at her with an angry expression on her face. She then flipped her head, and looked back at ruby with a huff*

Ilia: yeah, and does it look like I care? If I did, I would've whispered it

Ruby:..... Bad blood between you two?

*Ruby asked, looking between Blake and ilia. Blake sighed and shrugged, being the first to speak*

Blake: she was in patch when.... The you know what was dropped on it

Ruby:ah. I can see that, wait yang your her sister, which means you were also there. Why aren't you, like that?

*Ruby asked the million dollar question, since even Blake asked herself that multiple times. But she was too scared for the real answer. Yang for her part, Just shrugged*

Yang: because it happened a long time ago? I don't care nearly enough. That's Just not my style

Blake: honestly, I'm fine with it. She's right to hate me... You are right to hate me....

*Blake said softly looking down on the table and feeling guilty, ruby sighed a little, and looked at Blake with a small smile, the canine in her wanting to make Blake feel better*

Ruby: I don't hate you Blake

Ilia: after what she and the rest did to you how could you not?

*Ilia asked, since ever since she learned the truth, she hasn't been able to see Blake the same way again. Not that Blake blamed her for it either. Ruby just shrugged*

Ruby: because I don't like hating people.

Blake: honestly ruby, you don't have to force yourself, to

*Blake tried to say, but ruby interrupted her, looking at Blake annoyed. As she spoke, even her tone was annoyed*

Ruby:Blake enough. I'm neutral, sometimes I lean on hating you, and sometimes I lean on liking you, you know what that makes me? A normal human being. I'm not some 1 sided book character whose only purpose is to be angry at you, so that you can have some sort of redemption, to make yourself feel better. This is real life. And I don't hate you, but that doesn't mean I have to like you. And right now? Your not making it easy to like you, with all that self hate your spewing

Blake: I'm... I'm sorry.

*Blake said, ruby sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. Since she hates the words "I'm sorry"*

Ruby: look it's fine. It is Friday, but I still have to work and finish the penny project

Blake: I can come with you if you're ok with that, I can read a book on my phone or something, while I wait for you to finish

*Blake said, ruby thought about for a few seconds before she nodded in Agreement*

Ruby:ok.

Blake:ok.

*They both said and just stared at each other. They didn't know what else to say, after that. Thankfully yang did*

Yang:so..... I'm a little lost, are you gonna hang out with us or not? After you finish working and all that

Ruby:I....I guess. I always like meeting new people, who knows, maybe I'll make some new friends

*Ruby said, and did something that made Blake sad. She gave yang a sincere smile, there was no fear or insecurities behind it. It was completely pure, but not directed to her. Yang smiled almost as brightly and slammed her fist at the table*

Yang: that's the spirit!

Velvet: sorry it took so long! Here's the food

*Velvet said, taking them all out of the conversation. Velvet places the food down and smiles at her friends/customers*

Ruby:thanks velvet

Velvet:oh! Do you all know ruby?

*Velvet asked curiously, since ruby never mentioned it, even when there friend group would come together. Yang nodded her head*

Yang: she's a new friend. Didn't know, you guys were also friends

Velvet:oh yeah. Ruby was even my first customer! Coco kept saying that we didn't need an automatic door, but I kept saying that we did, in case someone in a wheelchair wanted to eat here. You can imagine how smug I felt when ruby came in, proving me right, on the first try

* Velvet said, the more she talked, the more smug she looked, which was a surprise for team IWBY. Seeing the shy bunny actually being smug. Ruby is used do it, she's seen this side of velvet when she's drunk, in the club*

Ruby:and I've been loyal ever since. No one makes cookies as good as you

Velvet: oh stop it you'll make me blush

*Velvet said with a giggle, she petted Ruby's hair, which the dog faunus enjoyed immensely, by how her tail was wagging*

Ruby: a bit too late for that

Velvet: oh you, go on and enjoy your meal

*Velvet said taking her hand off Ruby's head, much to the disappointment of both faunus. And relief from Blake. Since she was so jealous of how close velvet was to ruby*

Ruby:thanks bunny

Weiss:well all of us are already finished, so we'll leave you to eat. Though I'm sure if I know Blake, she wants to sit there and wait for you to finish

*Weiss surmised, Blake perked up at that, and actually got a smile on her face of the notion of being alone with ruby. Ruby sighed a little but nodded*

Blake:....I mean....

Ruby: it's fine. It was nice seeing you again Weiss, we really need to hang out more

*Ruby said with a sincere smile, that ate Blake on the inside. Since it wasn't directed at her. Weiss smiled at ruby and nodded in Agreement, though her smile was a lot smaller and reserved*

Weiss: I was thinking the same thing. You know, I've got this tickets for the opera if your interested

Ruby:sure. I love the opera!

*Ruby said excited. Weiss felt like crying right now, since it's been so long, since she had someone who has her same love interest in the opera, as herself*

Weiss: sigh, I think I'm gonna cry, you have no idea how long I've yerned to hear to words. To finally have someone else, who understands the beauty of the opera

Yang: don't you look at me like that, who thinks that a 3 hour opera is a good idea?!

*Weiss and ruby raised their hands making yang groaned softly. Ruby snickered a little and shrugged*

Ruby: you do realize that you asked that to two atlas girls right? One born and raised, and the other mostly raised there. Of course we love the finer things in life

Weiss: actually there's this opera  playing in a few weeks

*Weiss said looking at her phone, the look ruby was giving her, told her that she didn't need to ask, she bought two tickets for them out right*

Ruby: it's a date. Can't wait

Blake/ilia:......

*Now both Blake and ilia were jealous. Weiss and ruby chose to ignore it. Weiss and yang started walking away*

Weiss: that makes two of us. So glad to finally have someone to share it with

Ilia: h..hey wait Weiss! I just realized that I want to give opera another shot!

*That was the last thing ruby and Blake heard before the door closed. Blake turned her head to ruby who was already eating, and she raised her hand*

Blake: hey velvet, mind if I order another tuna melt? Feel kinda awkward if she's the only one eating

Velvet:sure. Coming right up!

*Velvet said going to the kitchen. Blake took out her phone and just read a virtual book, though a smile couldn't help but stay on her face. Since after months of interruptions, she's finally gonna spend time with ruby*
