*another chapter, another day passed.
We see yang and Blake together shopping, yang was helping Blake replace everything that she broke, she was also being a good friend by not asking what happened, and just instantly grabbed her keys and told Blake to go to the mall with her, so they can replace her stuff. Yang looked at Blake and gave a crooked smile*

Yang:I see something that will be perfect for you, stay here with the cart

Blake:K.

*Blake simply said, yang left and Blake leaned into the cart, she looked down at her lightly bandaged left arm, since if you break things, chances are your gonna hurt yourself, and Blake hurt her arm while she was cleaning up, she rubbed her wrist softly, her eyes got a glazed to them, as if she was in another world, more specifically in another time*

Flashback

*We see the team IWBY in their door room back at beacon, everybody was asleep, everybody but Blake who was in the bathroom. The sink was running as Blake looked down at the water that was mixed with her blood.*

Blake" you don't deserve this. You're a terrorist, you don't deserve this happiness, you don't deserve these friends, you don't deserve this life."

*Blake thought to herself, with nothing but hatred and guilt in her tone, 19 year old Blake was currently suffering through imposter syndrome*

Blake" you've killed so many people, you've done so many horrible things, so many people hate you, they want you to suffer. this is all you deserve "

*Blake thought to herself as she placed the razor on her wrist, took a sharp breath and slashed through, creating another cut, it was a deep cut, Blake felt the pain of it, and just looked as the blood fell down to the water*

Blake" people hate you, your friends will hate you, it's just a matter of time Blake. Soon I'll have to run away again"

Blake: Heh, the only thing I'm good for, running away like the coward I am.

*Blake finally spoke instead of thinking, as she gave herself a pathetic chuckle, that almost turned into a sob. Blake took a small breath and washed up, bandages her arm and covered the bloodied razor in a ball of toilet paper, so no one would find it, she took a few calming breaths, and went to bed*

Back to the present

*Blake stopped rubbing the old scars that no longer existed but inside her mind, and took a deep breath she still looked sad, but it was a determined type of sadness.*

Blake: I'm not running away anymore.

*Blake muttered to herself, as she saw what yang was carrying and it just made her laugh, her partner always knew how to cheer her up. Since yang was carrying a big golden retriever plushie, yang just gave Blake the biggest grin*

Blake:seriously?

Yang: just a place holder until you get the real thing on your bed

*Yang said with a pervy grin, just trying to cheer Blake up, and it was working to an extent*

Blake:just put it in the cart you bimbo

Yang:you got it, Mrs. My chemical romance fan

*Yang said with a chuckle, putting the dog plushie in the cart, Blake gave a fake Scoffed, so big that would make Weiss proud*

Blake:don't insult me, I'm a black veil brides girl till I die

Meanwhile with ruby

We see ruby waking up with the feeling that someone was cuddling her. She sighed with a soft smile*

Ruby:penny. Baby. You have your own room. You know this right?

Penny:I do. But I get lonely mama

*Penny said with a yawn and a fake smile since the real reason she was there was a lot more to do with ruby, than with penny*

Flashback

*Penny finished getting ready for bed. When she heard soft whimpering, she quickly and as quietly as possible went to her mother's room, she was moving around the bed, tears falling down her face. Penny analyzed her mother's heart rate. And it was increasing. Her mother was having another nightmare, a bad one by the look of it. Penny quickly laid down next to her mother and spooned her, keeping the shorter girl close to her chest*

Penny:it's ok, it's ok. I won't let anyone hurt you mama, I promise

*Penny said softly, singing softly to ruby the same song ruby used to hum, while she was building Penny's body*

Penny:I am my mother's savage daughter The one who runs barefoot
Cursing sharp stones

*Penny sang softly, as she petted Ruby's hair, frowning slightly, she could feel the big scars where her mother's dog ears should be*,

Penny"this world is too cruel for someone like my momma"

Penny:I am my mother's savage daughter I will not cut my hair
I will not lower my voice...

*Penny sang softly, as she kept rubbing the dent in her mother's head, since the ears weren't cut, they weren't ripped off, no. Those horrible monsters, scooped Ruby's dog ears*

Penny:My mother's child is a savage
She looks for her omens in the colors of stones

*Penny's eyes flashed red for a second in anger, thinking of what she'll do if she ever finds the people responsible for doing this to her mother.*

Penny:In the faces of cats, in the falling of feathers In the dancing of fire In the curve of old bones...

*Penny sang softly, she scanned her mother again, this time her heart rate was much lower, almost back to normal, she smiled softly as she got comfortable herself, and rubbed Ruby's belly softly*

Penny: I am my mother's savage daughter The one who runs barefoot
Cursing sharp stones....

Back to the present

Ruby:mh. Fine, but this is the last time. You're a big girl, you can sleep by yourself

Penny: of course momma

*Penny said with a smile, since she knew no matter how many times ruby said this, she always lets penny sleep in her bed. As ruby sat up straight on the corner of the bed and stretched, she missed the concern that penny was showing on her expression*

Penny" I need to send, momma's therapist goodwitch an email on momma's nightmares"

Ruby:penny? Are you coming? It's my turn to make breakfast

Penny: mhmm! I'm breakfast ready!

*Penny said with a bright smile, walking behind her mother, while in the back of her mind. She was already sending the email to the therapist. Being a robot has its advantages. Penny sat down on her chair and waited, while her mother made breakfast for both of them*

Ruby:so, honey. How was your last mission?

Penny:it was boring! Grampa ironwood didn't let me blow anything up! Not even after the people were being mean to us!

*Penny said with a huff of her cheeks, ruby chuckled softly, as she started making herself some pancakes, bacon and eggs*

Ruby: now penpen, we can't blow people up just because they were mean

Penny:they insulted you! They said that I was an abomination of creation, and that you should rot in hell for creating me

*Penny said frustrated, ruby just sighed, knowing how close minded the world still is as she whisked together the milk, egg and pancake batter.*

Ruby: now penny.

Penny:I know momma, I know, they just say that because they're afraid. I have to be better than to lower myself like that, I have to show them that I want to help, and blah blah blah

Ruby:sigh, I shouldn't have built you in your teen years, so sassy and sarcastic

*Ruby said in a amused tone, making penny grin, and blow her a raspberry.  Ruby rolled her eyes, as she started cooking the pancakes*

Penny: even if you built me an adult body. I would refuse it momma, this is the body I like, and the one I want to live in, since it's the one that you worked so hard on making for me

Ruby: hm. How did I make you so sentimental, I'll never know

*Ruby said with a soft chuckled, her mind wondering back to when penny was nothing more then a program on her laptop. She grabbed the gift of the gods and put the pig bacon on the pan to cook it. Penny just smiled softly*

Penny: you made me in your image

Ruby: now that can't be true. You can walk I can't

*Ruby said with a weak chuckle, as in pan number 3 she cracked a few eggs and scrambled them, mixing some cheese and salami in there. Penny rolled her eyes at her mother*

Penny: as amusing as your morbid joke is momma, you know what I meant. My original program, was to be the you, who you thought you could one day become, if it wasn't for that fucking cat, ow!

*Penny winced and rubbed her head, when her mother threw a wooden spoon at her, like any mother with a deadly weapon, ruby had perfect pitch*

Ruby: hm. First of all no swearing young lady. Secondly Adam and sienna share as much blame as Blake

Penny: yes, but Blake is the only one left alive, ow! Why?!

*Penny winced again, since this time ruby threw a cook book at her, and like the spoon, Ruby's aim with the book was perfect*

Ruby:you interrupted me. And lastly, you are incorrect. I didn't make you to be the me I thought I would become. I build you to become better than me, better than what this world deserves. You my dear are the living definition of the song starman by David Bowie

Penny: so. You want me to be this world's superman

*Penny said, making ruby grin as she continued to cook her breakfast, the smell filling the nose of both girls*

Ruby:I love that I didn't even have to spell it out for you

Penny: well I am your daughter after all

*Penny said with a bright smile, ruby hummed and shared the same smile penny had right now*

Ruby: true. The daughter that I love with all my heart.

*Ruby said, after that they didn't really have much conversation until ruby finished cooking, penny helped her mother set the table, and noticed something that made her look at her mother with an unamused expression*

Ruby:Alrighty then, breakfast is done. Pancakes, eggs, and bacon for me.

Penny:mom, I thought we agreed that we switched you to Turkey bacon

*Penny said sternly, but ruby looked another way, almost as if she didn't hear her daughter. Ruby smiled the entire time as she spoke*

Ruby: we did. But you never said it had to be forever, nothing beats pig bacon. Anyhow, that's my breakfast, while for you, nuts and bolts with your favorite motor oil on top

*Ruby said passing penny her bowl, penny looked at her food with want, since she can smell it really is her favorite oil she then looked at her mother, with a miffed smile*

Penny: nice try momma, don't think this is gonna butter me up. Next time I'm doing the groceries and we are getting turkey bacon

Ruby:oh come on, I'm a canine, pig is healthy for me

*Ruby complained as she started to eat her bacon with gusto, just to stick it to penny. Penny snorted, picked up her spoon and pointed it to ruby*

Penny:that's a stretch and you know it. Other parts of the pig is healthy for you, but the part you eat the most is bacon. And that's not good for you

Ruby: you sound just like your grandpa

*Ruby complained, as she kept eating, penny just snickered, and started eating. She activated her food sensors. Making the nuts, bolts, and oil. All taste just like what ruby was eating right now*

Penny: and yet you keep ignoring our opinion and doing what you want

Ruby:.... We're not talking about bacon anymore, are we pudding pop?

*Ruby asked with a crooked grin, as she kept eating, penny nodded and looked at her mother with so much concern*

Penny:I know it's your mistake to make, but why even make It in the first place? Why even give her the time of day?

Ruby: hm. Because I'm too nice to tell Blake to go away, because I believe in giving people second chances, and so are you

*Ruby said, putting the fork down and grabbing her cup of milk, taking a sip. Penny grumbled in reluctant agreement*

Penny:yes, I believe in second chances, but not to people who hurt my momma!

Ruby:and I love you for that honey bun, really I do. But, I want to give Blake another chance, and you need to learn to accept that

*Ruby said gently, honestly she didn't even know why she wanted to do that, she just had a gut feeling to do it, and more often than not, her gut was always right. But penny looked even more confused*

Penny:but I don't get it, why give her that chance in the first place? It's not logical

Ruby:no. It's completely human, hopefully one day you'll come to understand that emotion.

*Ruby said with a small grin. Seeing that sparkle in her daughter's eye, if there was something penny loved, It was knowledge, she graved to learn new things*

Penny:still so much to learn

Ruby:true. But not like your lacking in time. For now, let's change the subject. Tell me more about your mission. I could tell, that you wanted to keep talking about that, before we got distracted

Penny:oh! Well, after those mean people left, winter, grandpa and myself had to Fight against this giant sea Grimm serpent. It was oddly a beautiful creature.

*And so penny went on describing her mission to ruby, ruby smiled at penny, nodding every now and then, as they both ate and had a nice breakfast together. Even if at the back of her mind, ruby was feeling a little envious that she couldn't be part of that adventure with the rest of her family*
