"I would never do anything like that to you." Thorin whispered,  embracing her tightly.

"Yeah, Glinar said that to. I just don't trust anyone, really."

"You have to belive me."

"I'll never get that close to anyone ever again. It was a mistake, and I should've known better. My parents had warned me about getting that close to someone before actually learning what they are like first."

"You've seen what I'm like."

"I don't want to talk about this right now."

They were both silent.

"Thorin, can you teach me how to use a sword properly?"

"You're the Weaponsmith's daughter and you don't know how to fight?"

"He never had the time to teach me. His job always came first."

"Ok, let's go."

He showed her how to fight, and she was a natural.

The rest of the day, they took many walks, and talked about many things.

Around sunset, Thorin received a letter.

King Thorin,

The orc situation has been taken care of and you are free to return anytime with the girl. No one was hurt, and your nephews killed the most. You should be proud of them.

                                 Head of the Elvish Guard

"No one was hurt!" Sparkle exclaimed.

"We can go home any time you want." Thorin told her.

"Can we leave tomorrow? I miss my brother and my father and my restaurant and Electro and all my other friends."

"Sure," he replied, slipping his arms around her waist and kissing her forehead.

He walked her to her room, but before leaving her for the night, kissed her again.

The next morning,  they were getting ready to leave, and Elrond came to speak with Thorin.

"She read my entire library while she was here. I haven't even read it all!!!"

"I warned you."

When they set off, she seemed sad to leave, but happy to go home.

That night when they set up camp, she, again, cooked.

"You know, this trip has made me realize why your restaurant is so popular." he grinned, causing her to blush.

"You know, my dad was worried that I would get hurt on this trip." she commented a few minutes later.

"I already lost Flair. I'm not about to lose you too." he replied.

"You knew Flair?"

"Knew her since I was three and a half. She was two years younger. I proposed to her a few times, but she rejected me every time."

"Oh."

"I had problems deciding whether I liked you or her better, and she told me to pick you. She knew she would die. It was her, Dis, or everyone."

"Oh wow."

"One of her powers."
