A few days later, Sparkle's dad had Shad take Sparkle to get a new dress for the party.

Electro tagged along, so it was pretty funny.

They found a skintight emerald green strapless dress that came to her knees.

She also got new emerald green flats and her father bought her a headband with silver paint and emeralds, a silver necklace with emeralds, a silver bracelet that matched, and a ring to finish the set.

"Why are you buying me all this stuff?"

"To make up for all the time you were worried about us while you were gone, and you can't even tell me you weren't because I spoke to King Thorin. " her father replied.

"Yeah, but why do I need a dress of all things?"

"Because King Thorin is having a party."

"For what? His return?"

"No, yours. A lot more people missed you than they did him, and if he would have sent his special tasks man Dwalin, you can just add one more person to that list."

"Of course there is a party. There always has to be a party. I'm just glad we escaped the one in Rivendell. " she muttered.

Her father laughed.

"I was looking through your notebook last night by the way, and there is on particular picture I want to talk to you about. Acutally  I want to talk about them all."

"Ok, which one?"

"One that is a drawing of a camp, more specifically,  one with you and the king. You were drawing and he was looking over your shoulder,  holding some firewood. How much firewood do you think one man can carry?"

"I dunno. I'm not a man, so how would I know."

He just laughed, and went on.

"There was another. One of you and Thorin on a balcony, I am assuming at Rivendell."

"Really?"

"You didn't know about it?"

"Now, I don't always pay attention."

He showed her the picture he was talking about.

It was a picture of her and Thorin, and Thorin had his arms around her waist and his chin on her shoulder while she was reading.

"Did this actually happen?"

"Multiple times. Only when he wanted me to go on a walk with him."

"What were you reading?"

Thorin suddenly came up behind her, setting a hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump ten feet.

"Lord Elrond's entire library, more than even he has ever read."

She blushed badly.

"Oh hello King Thorin." he father asked.

"Are you all coming? Electro and everyone?"

"Yes, Electro won't shut up about it."

"Electro knew?! And I didn't?!" Sparkle exclaimed.

That night, she was in her room getting ready for the party. She was having issues with the necklace, bracelet, and her hair.

"Shad!"

"Yes Sparkle?"

"I am having issues."

"Of course I will help. Anything for my Lil' Spark."

He braided her hair in to three separate braids before braiding them together and putting the headband in.

"Thank you Shad." she said, hugging him tightly.

He set his hands on her shoulders and observed her at arms length.

"You are beautiful,  and don't let anyone tell you otherwise." he whispered.

"I won't."

When they walked to the party, Electro caught up to them.

"Hey Electro,  where's Flame?"

"She's sick, but I'm going anyway."

"Ok."

When they got there, Thorin immediately came over.

"Sparkle, you look amazing as ever."

"Th-thanks." she replied, blushing.

"Would you like to dance?"

"I don't know how."

"Then I'll show you. "

"Maybe not yet, I think I should talk to people first, considering how long I have been gone."

"Ok, have fun."

She talked to many different people, most of which sought her out.

Eventually, Dis came over.

"Hello Sparkle."

"Have I meat you before? I feel like I should know you."

"Well, you know my brother and sons."

"Oh! You're Thorin's sister Dis!"

"Yes, all three of them have told me much about you."

"Really?"

"Oh yes, especially Fili and Kili. The speak highly of your cooking and singing."

"Oh..."

She trailed off, blushing,  and not knowing what to say.

"Well, since Thorin has been waiting patiently, I will just go and talk to my sons."

"Bye."

Soon after Dis walked away, Thorin came over.

"Can we dance now?"

"You are sooo stubborn!" she giggled, allowing herself to be led onto the dance floor.

Thorin set a hand on her side, and she shivered slightly at his touch, causing him to smirk.

She laid her head on his chest, and he was slightly surprised.

Eventually, they stopped dancing about an hour before the end of the party.

Suddenly, no one was dancing, but that wasn't what was strange.

Thorin was staring at her, that was strange.

She looked around the room for her father, and when she turned back to Thorin to continue their conversation, she gasped in shock.

"Oh... My... God..."

"Sparkle, will you marry me?"

"Of course!!!"

He stood, and kissed her, and she kissed him back.

Everyone cheered, and then continued the party, while Thorin and Sparkle went for a walk.

She went home, picked up some spare clothes, and left a note for her father saying she was staying in Erebor for the night.

They went to Thorin's quarters, and stood on the balcony, after she changed into her shorts, and stole one of Thorin's shirts.

"I am so glad you finally said yes."

He slipped his arms around her waist, resting his forehead on hers.

"So am I."

She wrapped her arms around his neck,  and they locked eyes.

They were silent before she spoke again.

"I think Shad and Dis were a little drunk tonight,  don't you? Normally, Shad would never have the guts to ask her to dance."

"And she normally would've been too shy to say yes. By the way, close to the beginning of the party, you said something about him not being your actual brother, and your father not being your father?"

"Shad wasn't s'posed to tell me, but he was drunk. Thranduil, King of Mirkwood,  whoever that is. Thranduil doesn't even know I exist. I guess I don't have a brother. "

"Yes you do, and you met him in Rivendell. "

"I did?"

"Legolas is prince of Mirkwood."

"Oh."

"Enough talk about that. You're beautiful."

"People keep telling me that."

"Because you are."

He picked her up bridal style whether she liked it or not, and carried her inside.

When she layed back, Thorin was still sitting up and taking off his shirt.

He noticed an odd expression on her face.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Well, I don't know. Life is confusing."

"What part of it?" he asked, leaning over her to where he could look into her eyes and grinning.

"I don't know." she smiled mischievously. He saw a new glint in her eyes.

Suddenly, she wrapped arms around his neck, and pulled him down, kissing him.

He smirked against her lips, and kissed her back.

she had one hand on his chest and the other on the back of his shoulder.

He moved his hand to her thigh, squeezing gently, and he pressed his lip against her neck, working his way back to her lips.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

She jumped up to open it,  with Thorin right behind her.

"Hi Shad!"

"Hey Sparkle. I just came to make sure you were here in case that the note was some dimwit's idea of a joke, and that's not my shirt."

"No it's not. Night night."

She hugged him, then shut the door in his face.

She sang for a little while as she was sitting on the balcony railing.

She fell asleep a few minutes later with her head on his chest, for he had been standing behind her with his arms around her waist. He just carried her back inside.
