In 1999 the vampires stopped hiding amongst us. It was two weeks before my sixteenth birthday and six months before the Coming Out that I met him, Dominik Rian. Little did I know he would change my life, my entire world more than anything else.

I was eighteen when he shattered that teenage dream, breaking my heart and leaving me 'marked'. He was a vampire and he fooled us all until that night of the blood moon when he was going to change me into one of them.

But things didn't go his way. Instead, I drove a wooden stake through his heart but I was young, uneducated and didn't know that didn't kill vampires and despite escaping with my life - three years later on the next blood moon, he came back to finish what he started.

I was twenty one when Dominik left me for dead but he didn't win for that night I was turned into one them - a vampire.
