The new game Walking Dead Our World just came out! It's awesome! It's like Pokemon Go but with zombies! If you are looking for a team to join, join mine! "Senoia TWD" is still looking for members!

I went on my first date last night in two years!  Him and I had a blast and I can't wait to do it again!

My date also gave me major inspiration for my story!

Then

"And he hasn't replied at all?" Vanessa asked me. I shook my head. "No, it's been almost a week," I said. Vanessa pulled a confused look. "That doesn't make any sense. If he left his number on the bottom of his receipt that means he should've been expecting a call or text from you," I shrugged to her response.

"Who knows," I said while leaning against the counter. It was a slow Tuesday night in the bar. I usually didn't work on Tuesdays, but I needed the money and my boss needed the help. After showing off my skills that one busy Friday night, my boss decided to promote me to a waitress telling me it would do me some good to break out of my shell a little bit.

There were a few people having drinks and dinner, but other than that it was quiet. The door chimed up knowing whoever it was would seat themselves. After a few minutes wondering if Vanessa was going to get them I looked up to find her nowhere in sight.

I looked over at the table who had just sat down. Just my luck, it was Jeffrey and one of his buddies who was in here regularly with him. I grabbed my pen and pad of paper while making my way to the table. "Gentlemen, what can I get for you?" I asked.

Jeffrey's friend looked up with a smile. "I'll have a burger and a beer," he said. I smiled and wrote it down. "And you?" I asked while turning to Jeffrey. "Oh, the club sandwich with fries and a beer also, please." He said. I nodded and took off to fill their order.

"Is that who I think it is?" Vanessa asked as she saddled up beside me. I grabbed a couple beers and popped the caps off. "Yeah, they're having dinner," I said while walking to their table. "Here's your beers, boys. Food will be out soon," I said before walking back to the bar.

I was trying to avoid Jeffrey. I was embarrassed. Maybe the phone number wasn't meant for me. Jeffrey never texted me back even though he told me to get ahold of him because he wanted to get to know me. "Are you going to ask him why he hasn't texted you back?" Vanessa asked me.

I shook my head while discreetly staring at Jeffrey's table. "Why not?" she asked me. I shrugged. "What's the point? He wrote a note saying he wanted to get to know me and hasn't responded. Maybe he changed his mind," I said. Vanessa glared at his table.

"Jeez, Ness, way to be discreet," I said with a laugh. The bell dinged and I turned around to grab the food. "I'm sorry, but that just pisses me off for you," she said as she broke off from me to check on her tables. "Here we are, gentlemen. Be careful those fries are hot," I said before turning.

A hand latched onto my wrist stopping me. I turned to see it was Jeffrey. I cocked an eyebrow at him. "Can I get some ketchup, Sweetheart?" he asked. My heart rate sped up at his voice. Especially calling me sweetheart. I only hoped he didn't feel it under his hand.

"Sure," I whispered while slowly taking my wrist out of his grasp. I quickly grabbed the ketchup and plopped it beside Jeffrey before scurrying off hoping he wouldn't grab me again. I ducked through the double doors and leaned against the wall letting out a deep breath.

"Where's the fire?" Vanessa asked as she walked through the double doors to check on me. I shook my head. "Sorry, I just wasn't expecting him to reach out and grab me," I said. Vanessa smiled. You should talk to him," I shook my head. I looked up at the clock to see it was time to leave.

"I'm gonna check on them one more time before heading out," I said. Vanessa smiled as I walked back out the door. I walked back to their table with confidence deciding to not let Jeffrey get to me. "Alright, boys. It's the end of my shift. Is there anything else I can get y'all?" I asked.

They both shook their heads. "Just the check, please," Jeffrey's friend answered. I nodded and went to grab it for them. "Just take your time, but I hope you guys have a good night!" I said before heading to the back to take off my apron and end my shift.

*Jeffrey's POV*

"Dude!" Paul said as we paid our bill. I looked up at him as I laid some cash on the table. "What?" I asked. He motioned towards the back of the restaurant. I looked to see Ronnie coming out of the bathroom with different clothes on. "She's leaving," Paul said.

I shrugged and Paul rolled his eyes. "I swear to God I'm going to beat your ass," Paul said. I chuckled and watched Ronnie walk to the door, waving to a few people as she went. I looked over at Paul who cocked an eyebrow at me. I chugged the rest of my beer and stood up.

Paul smiled. "That's my boy!" he called out as I followed Ronnie who was already out the door. I looked in both directions before I spotted her putting her things in a car. "Ronnie!" I called out. Her head shot up and looked around before her eyes connected with mine.

I made my way through the small crowd before it to her car. "Hi," I said. She smiled slightly. "Hey, is something wrong?" she asked, her eyes darting back to the bar. I shook my head. "No, the food was perfect. The waitress was even better," her smile grew.

Things grew silent and Ronnie was looking at me with a confused look. "Right," she said before turning back to her car about to get into it. "Hey Ronnie, wait a minute," I said grabbing her arm. She looked down at her arm before looking up at me.

"I was wondering if you wanted to grab a bite to eat sometime or maybe a coffee?" I asked her. My confidence was finally growing. She bit her lip slightly. Her eyes locked with mine, The nerves were slowing settling back in waiting on her to answer.

"No thanks," she said. My smile faltered slightly. "I'm sorry, what?" I asked a little shocked. I thought her and I had something silently going on. She smiled sweetly. "Maybe if you would've texted me back, I might be saying yes right now," my eyebrows pulled together in confusion.

"Texted you back? Sweetheart, you don't even have my number. How could you have texted me in the first place?" I asked. She dug through her pocket before holding out a piece of paper. I saw that it was a receipt to the bar with a little note to Ronnie at the bottom with my number.

The date on the receipt was almost a week ago. My smile fell. "Sweetheart, I'm sorry, but that's not my writing," I said. Her face pulled into a frown. "Great, so I'm being played by someone pretending to be you? And to think I really thought you did like me," she said as she shook her arm loose from my grip.

She walked to the driver's side of her car. "Ronnie! Wait!" I said as she got in. She didn't listen to me and drove off. I sighed and walked back into the restaurant. Paul was waiting with a smile on his face. "So?" he asked. "What did you do?" I asked him.

His eyebrows pulled together in confusion. "I don't get what you mean, man," he said. I smacked the receipt on the table. "I know that's your handwriting! I never texted her back because I didn't know who it was! I thought my number had gotten into the wrong hands and I was contemplating on changing it!" I said.

Paul frowned slightly. "Man, we thought it would help," he said. I ran a hand through my hair and shook my head. "Well it didn't. She drove off before I could even explain," I said. Paul stood up and grabbed his jacket. "I'm sorry man. The next time I see her I'll talk to her," I shook my head as we walked out of the bar together.

"Don't worry about it. But, hey, listen, the next time I tell you that I don't need your help, I mean it. I could've handled that myself and probably would've scored a date with her," I said. Paul nodded and smiled as we continued down the street in silence.

Well this one is going to be strictly a Then chapter because we are about to head into all kinds of craziness! Kind of a filler but it will help tell the story further!
