A New Beginning

Tsunami gasped. She was laying face-first in the water. She looked up and saw the Summer Palace before her, the pavilion towering over everything. But this Summer Palace was...different. Instead of a single chain of layers, the pavilion seemed to have grown to twice its side, black and white stone layering walls and new entrances all over. The whole island seemed to have changed. The palace was silent and deserted, not a breath on the air. The waterfalls were the only noise breaking the silence. Tsunami sat up, looking for Anemone. She was already awake, looking at the pavilion, hushed.

"What now, genius?" Tsunami snapped. Anemone turned to glare at her.

"Why do you think I can do something about it?" Anemone flexed her talons.

"Ummm." Tsunami rolled her eyes. "You got us into this mess. You have animus magic." She grabbed one of Anemone's talons and held it up.

"I know, but don't you kind of think this is thrilling?" Anemone sighed dreamily.

"Don't say 'thrilling'." Tsunami suddenly interrupted. Anemone wrinkled her snout, but did't say anything.

"Well, isn't it kind of awesome that we're here?" She gestured to the black-and-white pavilion. "I mean, Tsunami, we're in a different dimension. Think about it!" Anemone was grinning like a new-hatched dragonet. She held out her talons and sighed again. "I love my magic." A surprising look of fury crossed her face, then disappeared. Tsunami turned in a circle.

"I guess it is kind of cool." She said. Anemone clapped her talons together.

"Come on! Let's look around! Maybe we can find Orca!" Tsunami hesitated.

"Okay, but if we do encounter her, don't tell her who we are. That would be...awkward."

"Fine." Anemone said, looking like she was only half-listening. She bounced away towards the royal level of the pavilion.

"ANEMONE!" Tsunami growled. As they flew, Tsunami noted a few changes. The biggest change was that the council pavilion was gone. Looks like she thought it was a bad idea too. Great minds think alike. She shook that thought off, refusing to accept she had anything in common with Orca. Murmuring voices came from the top pavilion as they neared it. Anemone slowed down so Tsunami could catch up. They landed on the pavilion with a muted THUMP. The pavilion looked pretty much the same, except for the black pearls winding through the walls and floor. The dark green dragon that Tsunami saw in the other image whipped around, glaring at them with beady eyes, more black pearls wound around her horns.

"What? Are those peasants complaining again? Tell them that if they don't stop, I'll rip out each of their throats." Orca snapped.

"Are you Orca?" Anemone grinned.

"That's QUEEN Orca to you, pipsqueak. And you would have the right mind to bow." Orca snarled, glaring at them. "Who are you?" Tsunami looked at Anemone, trying to come up with a good lie. But Anemone was faster.

"Were your sisters!" She chirped, smiling goofily. Tsunami stamped on her foot hard.

"Anemone, what did I say?" She hissed. Orca jumped like Anemone had poked her with an electric eel.

"WHAT?" She bellowed, making the pavilion shake. "IS THIS A JOKE? I DON'T HAVE ANY SISTERS!"

"In our dimension you do. Well, also in our dimension, your dead." Anemone said, not absorbing Tsunami's reaction.

"Then...wait...what?" Orca spluttered. "What are you talking about?"

"In our dimension, you challenged Queen Coral, but you lost, and she had us. But you would have had more sisters if your statue hadn't killed them all. And then I brought us here! To this dimension." Anemone smiled the same dazzling smile she gave Darkstalker.

"But, if you are from a different dimension, how are you...here?" Orca smiled suddenly as Anemone held up her talons.

"It looks like animus magic runs in the family." Anemone smiled. Orca grabbed Anemone's and looked at it, flipping it up and down. A slow, sly smiled crossed her face.

"Your an animus? And that's how you got into this dimension?" Tsunami saw Anemone wince as Orca curled her claws tightly around Anemone's talon.

"Yeeeees." Tsunami saw Anemone try to pull away, but Orca kept her grip.

"An animus." Orca mused, smiling slightly. "An animus. My my, how useful you will be." Orca fell silent for a moment, and suddenly, Anemone stopped struggling. Orca let go of Anemone's talon as Anemone turned to face Tsunami. Tsunami's gaze drifted up to Anemone's eyes. They were blank.

"What did you do to her?" Tsunami hissed, her tail lashing. Orca stared back at Tsunami with an innocent expression.

"Tsunami, stop worrying about me!" Anemone suddenly snapped, a harshness in her voice that Tsunami had never heard. "Your always soooo annoying. You think that just because your the older sister, means your infinitely smarter and more capable. I have animus magic. You don't! Your nothing! I'm special." Tsunami sat back, hurt, as Anemone turned away from her.

"The dragonet speaks the truth." Orca said. She tapped her claws. Suddenly, Orca flashed something in Aquatic. Tsunami silently cursed the guardians, especially Webs, for not teaching her Aquatic. Three SeaWing's suddenly appeared, thumping down in a wall to block Tsunami's escape.

"Take this traitor down to the prisons." Orca motioned a claw at Tsunami. Tsunami whipped around to face Orca.

"WHAT, WHY? I'M YOUR SISTER!" She roared at the top of her lungs.

"Exactly." Orca flashed her teeth. "Which means, your in line for the throne. I thought my statue got rid of all the threats, yet here you are, trying to take my throne." Tsunami felt talons yanking her back, but she clawed for Orca.

"I'm not here for the throne. I just want to go home!" Orca shrugged.

"Too late." She flicked her tail at the guards, and they began dragging her down to the prison Tsunami saw below. She struggled, but the guards were bigger, more fierce, and wore armor that reminded her painfully of Whirlpool. She stopped struggling, realizing that it did no good, as she was a prisoner once again.
