Lesson One: Transparency
Every element, image, and photo's transparency can be changed, and if done well, it might look like this:
(I know the text isn't good, because the focus is on the wolf and the moon.)
So how do you do this?
Step 1. Open Canva and start a new book cover template.
Step 2. Find a background image.
So I chose a night sky, so it would be clearer. Expand the image so it fits your template.
Step 3. Find an element or text to contrast.
I'm using text and an element to show you both.
Step 4. Click the background image and find the transparency button.
It's the one with the checkered squares that fade from left to right.
Step 5. Adjust the transparency to your liking.
Use your finger or arrow to move the ball at the end of the purple line.
For example, if you move it to 80 it will look like this:
Are the words clear enough? You can adjust it such that the focus is on the words, the element, or the image. For covers, the focus is usually on the words.
