yourstrulytrina's Special Chapter

To be honest, this is the first time I even heard that the Wattpad Philippines Ambassadors made their own version of Wattpad Block Party. I used to be consistently part of the line-up of the original Block Party so I was so excited when they asked me to join in this one. Besides, it gave me an excuse to write about my favorite characters again.

No matter which version of Falling For The Opposite you've read, whether it was the Wattpad version or the published version, there was brief mention of a summer road trip that they planned during their summer before college. And true to the themes of all my books, it's going to be as lightheartedly funny and will make you fall in love with my characters all over again. Well, I surely did because I missed writing these people.

So enjoy!

Humming a gleeful tune behind my lips, my eyes were glued to my phone, waiting for it to ring. Drew? Well, he was busily entertaining himself in the kitchen while Jazzy, the wonderful maid and strict person she was, tried and failed, to stop him from eating all the snacks she packed for us.

The moment my device started vibrating, I bolted up from my position on the couch and grabbed it from its spot on the coffee table, racing towards where my supposed boyfriend was happier with seeing food than he was seeing me. Still, nothing ripped off the smile from my face when I picked up the call and pressed the phone against my ear, "Are we ready?"

My best friend's laughter and happiness was completely evident in her voice when she giggled a breathless, "Yes, c'mon down this instant, we're not waiting another second."

"Drew!" I yelled before I could even place the phone down, "Let's go."

He was still chewing the sandwich Jazzy must have given him to hush down his demands. I blinked at him and even though my mind was already floating with excitement, my heart calmed down at the sight of him. I reached out a hand and I slowly watched the small smile crept to his face. Dusting off his palms, he grasped my hand and intertwined our hands together.

"Take care," Jazzy said warmly, giving a small bag of all the snacks, "I'll see you two in a month or so."

We got into the elevator and into the side door towards the parking lot where I asked the whole group to wait so they wouldn't be jamming the front of the building. Some of the staff already went ahead and placed our bags into one of the jeeps so it was just us who were missing.

Drew opened the door for me and helped me up, considering it was still a big elevation from the ground. He followed right after and sat beside me just as Jessica turned from her position in the passenger seat, "What took you so long?"

"Calm down, it hasn't even been five minutes so you ended the call," I told her, accompanied by a teasing eyeroll.

Blake chuckled from behind the wheel, pressing down on the horn to signal his twin, who was driving the other jeep, that we were about to head out. Jessica placed her shades back down and tapped on her phone that was connected by the aux cord, "Ready for the summer of your lifetime?"

"Not of my lifetime," I shrugged, stealing a glance towards Drew. He was still observing me and if I haven't slowly trained myself to be at ease even under his blazing gaze, I would have blushed. I gripped on the two front chairs and thrusted my body forward so I was peeking from the gap between my friends' seats, "But our lifetime."

"So what exactly was Lillian's plan for us?" Drew questioned.

Jessica and I traded looks before I leaned back against my seat, "It's like you don't know us."

He was silent for a moment and I knew dread was already dawning upon him. No matter how chaotic and unpredictable his life has been, he have always craved for order. However, he found himself with a group of teenagers who had lived with nothing but a bunch of other people having control of their lives for them. So he must be aware that by now, whenever we get to be free from the restraints of responsibilities and expectations, we were going to let loose.

The plan? Well, "We're going to march into this blindly."

We had no maps, we had no destination. Our single goal was to go through this summer alive and manage to get home before we have to leave for college. It was simple, but then again, anything uttered without complications is easier said than done.

The jeeps were even a surprise to us all. The twins mentioned the road trip to their parents and you best believe that Mr. and Mrs. Smith weren't going to let their boys roam around the country in some beat up rented vehicle. They surprised them with not one, but two very expensive jeeps.

We stopped a few miles away from the city in a decent looking gas station to fill up. The boys handled with the vehicles while us girls headed to the small store to refill our supplies of drinks. As we set them all on the counter, we noticed the thin girl behind the cashier with her uniform obviously a size too large for her body.

"Road trip?" she asked, ringing up the items one by one.

"That obvious?" Annabelle laughed and she nodded.

"A lot of people pass by here," she said, placing all of our purchases into a paper bag, "So where you guys heading?"

We paused for a moment to share a sort-of inside joke a between us before turning back to her, "We have no idea."

She lifted a brow before an impressed smile placed itself on her face, "Well, if I may suggest, skip to the last exit on the highway. It's really far so you better give your cars a full-tank, but it's a hidden gem worth finding."

"What's in it?"

"Completely old-fashioned and small town so it feels like you're living in the past. Drop the phones and just enjoy for a day."

The boys entered the store, catching the attention of the girl who unconsciously straightened up her posture and started flattening up her hair. I had to internally laugh – while I've heard Drew grumble so many times that even though he trusts me, he still doesn't like it when other men stared. I love reminding him that many girls find him attractive as well.

Lucas took the paper bag from Lillian's arms and Blake swung an arm around Jessica's shoulders, who proceeded to tell him about the cashier's advice. I turned back to her with a nod of appreciation, "Thank you."

She only managed to open her mouth as I possessively clung onto Drew's arm, before merely nodding in response, watching as we all piled out of the store.

"She was staring at you," I stated as we headed back to the jeep.

He looked down at me with the most unamused expression and I bit my lip to hold back my laughter. I rested my head on his shoulder and sighed, "Why can't you believe me when I say that people do genuinely want to vie for your attention?"

"Because sometimes, I still have a problem believing that I have you," he scoffed in such a fashion that only he can pull off.

My Drew Everett, you are so nonchalant, sarcastic, playfully rude, and yet so insecure under all of that hard exterior. I chose you because you make me the happiest I could possibly be, because I see how you try to give me the world, because you saw me as a person beyond all the wealth and popularity. And that fateful evening when we got locked inside the school together, I was instantly drawn into you because of your eyes, of your face that held every emotion in them even though you try to hide it.

It is unthinkable for me not to love you so I know other people will think the same.

When the lady said that it would be far, she meant it. We left the gas station a little bit after noon and it was way past sunset when we got close to it. The bright sun was replaced by the blanket of the night sky.

Maybe she exaggerated when she said that this was a completely old-fashioned town since we saw a few popular fast food chains while driving around and the clothes people wore were completely in-style. The houses and buildings however, did show how dated this place was.

Our arrival did catch some attention since we actively saw the shock in people's faces as we drove by. With eyes wide open, we tried to find a place where we could stay for the night.

We saw a single police strolling along the sidewalk, alert and on patrol. We stopped right beside him and Blake rolled down his window, "Excuse me."

He was startled but remained calm when he approached the vehicle, "Yes sir?"

"We're travelers and were just wondering where we can stay the night? A hotel or anything?"

He examined him for a brief moment, probably contemplating if we were safe and harmless. He then lifted a hand and started laying out directions, "There's a motel right down by that corner, just before the town park."

The town obviously doesn't get much visitors since there were only five rooms in the motel and from the looks of it, the furniture haven't been changed since it was built. The mattress felt like I was laying down on a rock but we had to make do with what we had.

Lillian and Annabelle paired up in one room, Jess and I shared the next one, while the twins predictably were together, and Drew decided to go solo.

Of course, the rooming was just for formalities since all the girls ended up in the same room while the twins went out and attempted to buy us all some beers. As Lillian attempted to braid Annabelle's crazy wild hair, she paused when she saw all of our reflections on the strategically placed dusty mirror, "Don't you think it's a little crazy that it used to be just us girls and then during senior year, Blake and Lucas comes back and Drew seemingly appears from nowhere?"

"Oh yes, because I just produced my boyfriend from thin air," I muttered sarcastically, taking a chip from the bag.

She rolled her eyes before continuing down the braid, "You know what I mean, Cel."

"I think it's nice that they came to our lives at the right moment," Jessica piped in, "If they never left, Blake and Lucas might have still been the same immature boys that we used to know."

I nodded in agreement because the time apart from the twins did get rid of this barrier known as their misplaced playfulness. They've matured and maybe if their nagging presence stayed since the beginning of high school, we might have found it unbearable.

But because of their absence, our minds became open to the changes they exhibited when they came back.

"And besides, I've known Cel since we barely knew what was left and right, you've always been insecure and quite a pushover," Jessica continued on before smiling gently at me to signal that there was no ill will, "But it took her years to develop her sense of authority and if it wasn't senior year, she would never had the confidence to stick with Drew until he let her in."

I blinked at her and she crawled over to where I was sitting, grabbing my wrist and looking over my shoulder to see Lillian tying up the end of Annabelle's red hair. Hopping off the bed, she grinned mischievously while tugging me along, "Come on."

"And where are we going this time?" I asked with a raised brow, scooting over to the edge of my bed to put on my shoes.

"You heard what the gas station lady said," she spoke, grabbing her windbreaker that she haphazardly threw on the floor when we arrived, "Drop the phones and enjoy."

The door opened with Blake and Lucas smirking with plastic bags that I was sure were filled with beer. Drew was right behind them, grumbling under his breath how he was in the middle of his sleep.

Jessica jumped right up to her boyfriend to dig into the bag he was holding and started tossing cans at each of us to catch. We all watched as she pulled the tab open and chugged down all the contents as fast as she could, "Hurry up because we have a whole night to go through and just see what this tiny town has in store."

We finished all of the drinks they bought, which was an amazing feat since they admitted that they bought a lot purposefully because they thought we would be drinking all night. However, Jessica had other plans and got us downing every single can that ended up in our hands.

Soon we were all giggling and chuckling as we went out of the motel. We covered our mouths with our hands in a futile attempts to stay quiet because we didn't want to cause alarm to anybody.

But if you have seven very tipsy teenagers, a disaster was already bound to happen.

From the police's directions earlier on, we knew that there was a park near us. So we stumbled through the streets and thankfully, there were no cars around to run us over. There was a minimum amount of street lights so the task of walking in the night was ten times more difficult in our state.

In the end, we were successful at our short journey to the park. The gates, we've learned, never closes so we managed to get easy access. We squinted our eyes to see as much as we can but even for a town that is tiny, they have a large park that you could easily get lost in if you want to.

There was a small pond that had a creaky wooden bridge over it. Lillian almost fell over, if it wasn't for Lucas' miraculous fast reflexes. He caught her just as he tipped over the edge and she started laughing loudly when she twisted around in his arms, holding onto his muscular biceps.

Yup, we're goners.

I glanced at Drew and pouted slightly when I saw him staring down at the water. It reflected the sky, how the moon was smiling down on us with its crescent shape and how this area was so clear of light pollution that the stars shone brightly – brighter than I have ever seen them.

There was a part of me that was well aware that he still fell left out in our group, no matter how much we tried to involve him. He said it himself, he doesn't like big crowds or the usual way of hanging out with friends.

So I took his hand, catching him off-guard that even he, almost leaned forward too much. But he didn't fall because I pulled him with as much strength I had in my body. I looked into his eyes, silently telling him to trust me before I took a few steps forward then breaking into a sprint.

We heard our friends' yells but I kept running as I pulled him along, and he followed my every step. I didn't know where we were going or where we were heading, but I didn't care. He was with me and that was enough for me.

"I want to get lost," I sighed wistfully, twirling around and looking up at the sky, "What if we don't ever return home?"

"Celeste..." he trailed off and I turned back to him, seeing the uncertainty in his eyes.

"That won't happen," I swore, plopping down on the grass with little to no grace or poise, "But if I did decide to run, will you go with me?"

He bent down so we were at the same level, my eyes glued to those green ones that I will never ever get tired of looking at. The same features that I first noticed and the storm of decisions within them. He placed a hand on my face and sighed, "You're drunk."

Thank you, Captain Obvious.

"I know," I whispered, leaning in to his touch, "But I still want to hear your answer."

He was avoiding it because I already knew what he was going to reply. Drew, although a little wayward at times, always had his head on his shoulders so something as reckless like that would never cross his mind. Still, he won't say it out loud because he knew my melodramatic self would shine through if he seemingly rejects me.

"I won't be angry though, whether it's a yes or no," I murmured, pushing him so that he would sit on the grass, before I maneuvered my body so I was situated between his legs. I felt him wrap his arms around my waist to pull me closer to him, burying his face into my hair, "I love you, Drew. I meant it unconditionally, so I don't care if you won't run with me, I will still love you."

"And that's the reason why I won't run with you," came his muffled voice, "Because I love you unconditionally as well, and that stupid decision of yours will be the end of you. I don't want that to happen to you."

I felt his hands feel their way to mine, his long fingers encasing my palms, "I won't run away because there's this girl who has taught me to love myself before I could go on to take care of others."

I laughed lightly, looking down at our joined hands. No matter what, he was still Drew and dependency was not in his dictionary. I appreciated it though since all the shows and movies I've watched, the girl and guy can't live without each other. Like if one was gone, there was an automatic urge to go looking for the other.

It was unhealthy.

For me, the relationship I've always wanted was one filled with assurance. Assurance that no matter how far apart you two may be, there will always be something between you two that nothing can break. You have to understand that before you are in a relationship, you have to establish who you are first.

Don't go off on me that unconditional love is about following somebody till the end of the earth.

"I won't got with you, but I will do my damn hardest to bring you back."

"And if I don't want to go back?" I fired back, too quietly like it was a secret to the world around us.

"Then I'll let you go," he told me, pain evident in his voice at just the mere thought, "But if it's what you want, then who am I to hold you back?"

Unconditional love is no matter what the person's flaws are or even when you're not together, you still love them. Your heart still looks for them, even if you told it to stop.

I kicked off my shoes and stood up, feeling the grass beneath the soles of my feet, "You know, the day I came to accept that I like you was when you arrived at my penthouse during winter formal, with me in nothing but a complete ugly mess because I was sick and yet, you made me feel like I was the most beautiful person."

Reaching out my hand, I waited for him to push himself back up to his feet. He placed his in mine and grinned, "And when we danced, something in me just knew that everything clicked and that I wanted to picture us dancing ourselves away even when there's no music or when we're too old and frail."

"Wanted," he repeated one word from the whole speech, "That was the song."

He then lifted our joined hands to spin me around, his other hand securing its position on my waist as he slowly swayed us to an nonexistent beat. Drew have always been to embarrassed to hum or sing, something he claimed was unfit for his image. I love his voice though, but it was a faraway dream that he would sing to me as we danced in this park that was essentially in the middle of nowhere.

But although he didn't sing, he recited the lyrics in the soothing manner that has never failed to relax me, "I just want to wrap you up..."

"Want to kiss your lips," I whispered, resting my forehead against his, "I want to call you mine."

He then wrapped his arm that was just gripping my waist before and he lifted me up, resting my bare feet on his shoes, "Want to hold your hand forever."

On cue, his hold on my hand tightened and I found it almost ridiculous. It was a song originally sung with such a gorgeous voice with a tune so beautifully composed and yet we were reciting it to the night, like a quiet poetry.

"And never let you forget," we said almost the same time. I started laughing and I saw that gorgeous grin of his bloom on his face. He had been sour since we got into that jeep earlier this morning but now, I felt like I could rest easy knowing that I've seen him in this happy state.

"I want to make you feel wanted," I told him, "You'll always be wanted."

And if it was up to me, I would have washed away all of his insecurities. My Drew, you think that you're still that guy who deserves to sit near the garbage can every lunch hour. But I see you as someone who deserves the world so don't think for a second that you don't.

"It's alright even if you don't run with me," I muttered, inching my face closer to his, "I promise you, right here and right now, that I won't go off anywhere, because there's this guy who taught me that no matter how trapped I am, there will always be someone who would bear the pain with me and for me."

Then we kissed, the sparks and excitement of it all were still there, but it was gentle and sweet. Our lives weren't filled of drama where one of us would go on and cheat or something, but it was calm and grounded with a bit of extra pressure thrown in just to keep it fun.

My hand from his shoulder found his cheek and I ran smooth circles on his skin with my thumb, breaking the kiss with a contented sigh, "I don't care if college tries to pull us apart, I'll come back to you."

"You better because like I said, I see my future and I see you in it. You know me, I hate being wrong," he chuckled joyfully, resuming our silent dance as my laughter was blown away by the summer evening breeze.

Please tell me I still have it. No, but in all seriousness, I tried to teach you guys that it's okay to be in love, but please, make smart decisions. Be sensible enough to follow both your heart and your mind, although it's not always possible, find a person who won't make it difficult for you.

So guess niyo kung sinopatiditonagcram? Moi. Super busy ako with college to the point nahindikonaalamano ang ganapsa Wattpad. Pero, this place would always have a special place in my heart. Let me just finish my third year and I'll be back with the writing and super constant updates. Sorry kung medyokonyona, awkward sa akin namagtagalogsa writing.

Now if you're deciding what other story to read aside from my baby Falling For The Opposite, I suggest the Hollywood's Princess (though the Wattpad version is a bit cringe, but it's going to be published soon so bear with it!). But to be honest, for all my other writers who just want love in their lives, go on and read Writing's Second Taste. It's the spin-off of Hollywood's Princess and still on-going but the main character is a writer so relating to her can be quite easy.

Well, that's all from me. Bye guys, I hope I brought just a little bit of kilig and happiness to your summer vibes.
