He told me that he loved me by the water fountain..

    John sat on the ledge of the fountain, the mist soaking his shirt.
     He looked around. He was alone....Alex had not came. He threw down the flowers, furious that he actually thought Alex loved him.
    

He told me that he loved me and he didn't love her..

     In the back of his mind, John had always expected Alex to leave him. He never was the most loyal to anyone..but to leave him for Eliza? Their best friend...?
That stung just a little bit more.

And that was really lovely cus it was innocent..

John looked into the water, thinking of all the memories they had. That one time John lost his tooth in the bounce house in 5th grade, when Alex accidentally outted himself to the class in 8th, when Alex asked John to prom in 11th..
All these memories..meant nothing to him?

But now he's got a cup with something else in it...

John remembered the biggest secret Alex had ever told him. He poisoned Peggy...and John covered him. He risked his own freedom and record for Alex...and he threw him away..

Now he's grabbing her hips, pulling her in, kissing her lips, and she's whispering in his ear and he knows that he shouldn't listen-

"You should be with me by the water fountain.."....
