Chapter One - Preparing To Leave
A/N: See, I told you I would update this! Sorry it's so late tho 😔 Hopefully tho, I'll get chapter two out MUCH quicker than I did this one.
CONTENT WARNING: Repression of emotions/putting on fake emotions for someone else; mentions of memory loss (not really tho, just like "they have bad memory"); losing someone (not dead (as far as we know), just missing); mentions of dieing (doesn't actually happen, it's just mentioned. And it's talking about Grian in the past, but he's still alive. Basically just Minecraft deaths is what I'm talking about-)
The Prime Watcher paced back and forth, anxious.
"∷ᔑリ has still not come home yet ̇/ᒷꖎᑑ⚍ᔑ. I am starting to get worried about him. They haven't even sent any letters!" She exclaimed frantically, stopping suddenly and turning to Grian. "You send letters! And you visit! You're here right now!"
"I know mum!" The blond in front of her snapped, then looked down at the ground ruefully. He continued in a softer voice "I know...."
Xella gave him a look, but didn't press. This was a stressful situation, as even she herself was stressed. While the Prime Watcher tried her best to keep a calm demeanor, for the sake of not sending her people into even more chaos, she was panicked. Xella only let down her barrier, or faux, you may call it, around a few people, and her son Xelqua, or Grian, was one. This did not help her mental state, this repression of emotions.
"What do we do, what do we do?!" Xella repeated quietly, going back to her pacing.
"Mom." Grian interrupted her. "That's it. I'm going. I'm going to look for Ranboo. I don't care, I have to find them. I'm not letting another day go by of me not knowing what happened to my brother."
Xella stopped dead, turning her head slowly towards her son. "You didn't say what I think you just said, did you? No, you couldn't have possibly just said that..."
"Trust me, you heard me right." Xelqua chuckled, but there wasn't any joy in it. "I am going."
Xella tried to interrupt her son, about to protest this idea. But he continued talking, voicing his reasoning.
"The barrier already has a crack in it, so if I needed to, I could break it entirely." Grian said, almost convincing his mother. Not entirely convincing, though.
"If Ran-" The Prime Watcher started, but was cut off by Xelqua continuing.
"I know what you are going to ask. If Ranboo couldn't, how could I? Well, you know I've always been stronger than them. Even he acknowledged it. Besides, he's never had the best memory, they could have possibly forgotten how to do spells like that." Grian pointed out.
"Hmmm..." Xella hummed, thinking. "I... I guess your right." She sighed. "Ok.. you can go find your sibling. Just promise you'll come back. And... Don't... Don't break this promise... Like Ranboo had with their's..." She trailed off at the end, voice growing quite.
Grian smiled, the first genuine one he had had in a while. "Thank you. And I WILL keep this promise. I'll come back as soon as I sense danger. Even.. even if I don't have Ranboo..."
The woman sighed again. "Alright. I trust you to keep this promise Xelqua."
She continued, seemingly talking to herself, "I'll have to message Kristin about this... Hopefully she'll actually answer this time... She hasn't responded to any of my messages lately..."
"Hm?" Xelqua asked. "Eh, whatever." He muttered, shaking his head. "I'll be setting off in a bit. Need to grab my gear and stuff, you know, just incase."
This snapped Xella out of her state of talking to herself, bringing her back to reality. The Prime nodded with a smile on her face, glad that Grian was more sensible than, *ahem* someone *ahem*, as to actually bring weapons and armor.
Grian walked off towards the weaponry where he kept his gear, just like everyone else. He closed his eyes at some point during his walk, the route familiar enough that he didn't need them open. When he finally opened his eyes, he was already at his destination, standing infront of the door to the weaponry, and the guard that protected it.
Said guard, whose brown hair poked out from behind his helmet, bowed. "Prince Xelqua, what do you need?"
Grian waved him off, chuckling lightly. "No need to bow, I've always said that. And please, drop the formalities! They aren't necessary. Plus, I don't really like 'em!" Even though he said that, he did secretly like the titles. He meant what he said about the bowing and the necessity of the titles though.
The armored Watcher straightened, smiling. "I know. Still, I like to show respect. I'll drop the formalities though, if you don't want them. Now, what would you need?"
Grian smiled. "I just need to get my gear. Armor and weapons, you know."
"Ok! Let me take you." The Watcher guard turned to the door, inserting a key and opening it. He walked into the corridor, Xelqua following close behind.
The silence that followed them down the corridor was sort of awkward, and Grian REALLY wanted to fill it. Luckily for him, the armor-clad one of the two spoke first. "Sooooo, what do you need your gear for? If you don't mind me asking, of course."
"It's fine. I wanted to get my gear, because, well, I'm going to the DreamSMP."
The guard froze abruptly, turning to the Prime Watcher's son. "Wha..... Sir, with all due respect, do you know how dangerous that it!? It's called the Watcherless Land for a reason! We already lost one prince, we can't lose another!" The armor-clad man exclaimed.
A serious look settled across Grian's face. "I know the dangers. But I NEED to get Ranboo back. And I'll be careful. More careful than I have ever been in my life. Besides, if I need to, I can always break the barrier fully. With the crack that they already put in it, I'm sure I could."
There was silence for a moment after.
The armor-clad brunnette sighed, resigned. "I can't stop you, can I?"
Grian laughed, his serious demeanor dropped. "No, no you can't. Even mother couldn't!"
A smile crept it's way onto the guard's face, despite his previous attempts to stop the prince. "Alright. In that case, we should probably go get you your gear, huh? Don't want you going in there unprepared!"
"Alright, let's keep going." The blond agreed, nodding.
They made their way down the hall, passing many doors in the way. Those doors weren't for Grian though, his door, along with his mother and sibling, were at the VERY back. There was silence as they walked but this time, it was a more comfortable one, and neither of them felt the need to fill it.
Finally, they reached the end. Well, not the VERY end, that had the door to Xella's vault. There were only two doors before it, Grian's and Ranboo's, each on one side of the hall. Xella's vault though, was in the very center of the wall, being the literal end of the hall.
Grian's vault door was on the right, and he walked up to it, accompanied by the brown haired guard.
"Well, here we are." The armor-clad man said, "Go ahead and open it."
Grian looked at him, nodding. Turning his attention back towards the vault, he pulled out a key from his inventory. The key was special, it wasn't able to be used by anyone else besides him, unless he gave them permission. It also didn't spill out on the ground when he died in Hermitcraft, unlike at the other miscellaneous items in his inventory.
The blond carefully inserted the key, turning it until there was a satisfying click noise.
Xelqua stepped back as the door swung open, revealing a door filled with his armor and tools, all enchanted of course.
"Alright. After this I'll need to tell Pearl about me leaving, and then I'll go!" He said to himself quietly.
Smiling, Grian walked into the room to grab his gear.
A/N: FINALLY! I FINISHED IT! YAAAAY!
So, how'd ya like it?
Did ya notice anything 👀 Any theories so far??? 👀
Also, I'll be posting an a/n in ANL after this. It'll be on hold for a while. I think it'll be better to put it in hold than to just leave everyone waiting for an update.
