Chapter 15. Control
(guys im so stupid. earlier i mentioned that grian had gold markings/streaks on his body, and would go to his arms when he used his 'magic'. Here so let me explain: grian has to be using his powers to its full extent, like, to the point where it might burn him up. there, it works with the story now bye!)
(oh yeah, we hit 1k earlier. Thank you for reading this story! Idk if i mentioned earlier, so...)
POV: Grian
Location: Watcher's Lair
At this point, I'd estimate I have one more hour left to go until I die from lack of magic use. I was in a bad shape now. My breathing was shallow, and my heart beated weakly. I couldn't move a muscle at all, so I just laid on the floor. My eyelids were fluttering, trying to stay open. I was on my left side with my arms out in front of me. My wings were limp on the floor, becoming colder as the minutes pass.
Xisuma was still unconscious. He woke up a few times, but was only for a couple minutes. Sometimes, he would fall asleep while he was saying something. He usually doesn't remember the last time he woke up, so I couldn't ask him about what he was saying.
I softly breathed out, closing my eyes in exhaustion.
The door to the cell opened. I didn't move because I couldn't. Someone grabbed me again, pulling me up. I didn't fight or protest because I didn't have enough energy to do so. I let them pull me by the black shirt Mumbo gave me. I sliced holes in the back earlier so my wings could come out and move around. They dragged on the floor, ripping and dirtying.
They dragged me towards the main room again. The only difference from before was that Xisuma wasn't with me. I was all alone.
Once we were in the main room, they threw me to the ground, uncaring if I was hurt. I fell to the ground with a crash. I stayed there, not moving. The magic dampening ropes were removed from my wrists. There were angry red marks around them, slowly bleeding and bruising from being so tight.
My body glowed with the energy that was left in me. It quickly built itself back up, but not quick enough. The Head Watcher was already standing over me. I tried to stand up, but he put his jet black boot on my neck, suffocating me. He was crushing my wings too. I tried to push it off, but to no avail. He smirked. I kept trying to push him off, but he just put more of his weight on me. I then made a stupid mistake.
I accidently looked him straight in the eye.
I froze as I felt the Head Watcher in my mind again. I tried my best to expel from from my mind. We both fought for control, making my body twitch every other second. Since I didn't have full energy, he had the upper hand. I rolled to the side, getting pinned down by the Head Watcher and other Watchers. They held my legs and arms down, not allowing me to move. The Head Watcher locked me in the back of my mind, a dark area that I never visit because it's where I keep my unhappy memories. I felt my face relax, and stared at the ceiling with my eyes glazed.
Last time the Watcher didn't take 'full' control, as he was just flaunting his powers. I would describe 'full control' as having an alt account. You can control both at the same time while having your consciousness in one body. The person who's being controlled can't do anything accept watch what they're doing. If the victim is strong enough, they maybe could gain control for a couple moments, and full control after defeating the controller. RIght now, I couldn't do anything since I was drained from all magic. This was probably their plan all along.
I could only spectate as I stood up against my will. My wings fell to the floor limply. I looked at the Head Watcher, who was slightly sweating and taking a couple deep breaths. He still grinned, knowing he was the final victor. He stood in front of me, looking at me with arrogance.
"Dear God. Finally, that took forever." Head Watcher said. I stood there, still as a statue. I was currently staring at him with emotionless, dead looking eyes. I tried to break free, but my body and brain wouldn't cooperate. He finally looked at me, triumph clear in his expression.
"Well well, Grian. I finally did it." I internally roll my eyes. Clearly.
"You know, for how powerful you are, you really are pathetic." He taunted, knowing I couldn't do anything.
"Yeah, well, see, it did take you almost two months to finally pull this off, but alright." Head Watcher frowned. Did I mention that because he was in my head that he could hear my thoughts if I want to speak to him?
"And you had time to fight me off, but you didn't."
"I bet if you had magic dampening ropes around your wrists you'd be crying for someone to take them off... in the first minute of having them on."
"Hey, I-"
"And I had them on for about ten hours. Three being unconscious when you brought us here, the other seven rotting in that cell."
Head Watcher slapped me across the face. Just because I wasn't in control, I could still feel the pain. I felt the blood rush to where he slapped me, but I couldn't do anything about it.
"Watch your thoughts." He scowled. He started walking away, and I followed him. Not by choice, I will add. He stopped near his throne, making me stand in front of him.
"Everyone else, get out. Now." He commanded. The other Watcher's quickly filed out of the room. Head Watcher turned to me.
"So, what to do, what to do." He paused, grinning. "I could do many things with you, you know."
"If you're thinking that, no. Just, no." He turned red, knowing what I was referring to.
"No, not that. To my advantage, Grian. Physically. Not that." He sneered. He crossed his legs, tapping a small diamond dagger on the arm of his chair. He sat there silently.
"Oh, but I can make you do whatever I want." He finally said, breaking the silence.
"Really?" I ask. He nodded. My knees buckle as he stood. I fell to my knees, looking up at the Head Watcher.
"I could make you kneel to me." He kneed me in the side, making my lose my breath. I fell to all fours.
"I could kick you, and you can't do anything about it." He dragged me upwards and pushed me against a wall. My wings were crushed again, making me wince internally. He put his forearm against my neck, choking me.
"Whatever I want, Grian. You're basically stuck here." He took out a mirror, and showed me my face. There were scars, blood, and dirt on my face and in my hair, but I didn't pay attention to that. What caught my attention was my eyes. My usually blue colored eyes (sometimes dim, sometimes bright), were a broken, dull, and faded purple color.
"Purple suites you." He commented. I was about to say something when a person dressed in green armor pulled the Head Watcher off of me, holding him in a choke lock. He held the blade of an iron dagger under his chin. He looked at me in horror, seeing me not fighting back or saying any insults.
"What did you do to him?" Xisuma growled. The Head Watcher smirked.
"Nothing. Well, nothing bad, per se."
"I don't believe you. What. Did. You. Do?" He he pressed the dagger into his skin more, somehow not breaking through the skin.
"Hey, relax. He's just under my full control-"
"He looked you directly in the eyes?!" Xisuma screamed in disbelief.
"Yes, I thought you knew this." Xisuma looked at the Head Watcher in absolute hatred.
"We will kill you. No matter how long it takes, we'll get you eventually."
"Idiot, the Watchers will always prevail-"
Xisuma knocked the Head Watcher in the head really hard with the hilt of the dagger he's been using.
He turned to me, unceremoniously shoving the Head Watcher's unconscious body to the side after taking the Watcher's diamond sword.
"You fool, you may have knocked me out, but I can still use Grian. You wouldn't dare hurt the Prime Admin, would you?" I taunted, taking out a diamond sword. Seems like he doesn't know where my obsidian sword is.
Xisuma seemed conflicted. He knew it wasn't me talking, but couldn't stand injuring the Prime Admin...
"Do... it." I gasp out, gaining control for a moment. "I'll... heal even-eventually." I step back, head twitching as the Watcher took control of my body again. I smirked and stepped towards him, readying my sword. I made a few teasing strikes, which he easily parried. After one strike, he threw one back at me. I changed the position of my sword, easily blocking it. I quickly sweep my sword towards him, at about neck level.
He rolled out of the way, blocking as soon as he regained his balance. My blade grinded against his, producing an ugly sound. He pushed my blade away and sliced at my legs. I flipped over the blade, landing and throwing a kick at him. I knocked him off his feet, though he recovered quickly by rolling backwards and onto his feet. As he did that, he also threw my balance off. I tripped backwards over my limp wings. I quickly stan up, seeing Xiusma also had stood up. I slowly strut to him, holding the hilt of the sword I had with both hands. I raise the sword above my head, and struck downwards will all they strength I had.
Xisuma blocked my strike, faltering under the about of strength used. At this time, I tried to take control. I didn't want to hurt Xisuma more, out of fear of doing irreversible damage. My breath hitched as I almost gained control. In that moment, Xisuma disarmed and kneed me in the stomach, knocking the wind out of me. I stumble backwards, falling to the floor on my back. The sword I was using flew out of my hand and skidded towards Xisuma. He picked it up and stored it into his inventory. He quickly approached me as I tried to sit up. He kicked me down again. I rolled onto my back, grunting as he had kicked my in the ribs. No doubt they bruised or fractured. Holding the sword's tip to the back of my neck, he stepped on my back, making it almost impossible for me to breath. He stepped in the middle of my wings, knowing they were sensitive I gasped for breath, as he had put most of his weight on my back.
"Grian, I know you can fight him off..." Xisuma whispered, looking down at me. My lips curled into an evil smirk.
"You may think that, Xisumavoid. But not for long, not for long I promise you." I say, grinning.
"I can still hope."
"Hope is weak." I hiss. "Though you have knocked my main body out, I can still use this." Xisuma pressed the tip of the sword into the back of my neck, drawing a little blood. I laughed, a weird sound coming out of my mouth. Remind me to never attempt an evil laugh.
"Pathetic." I say, before sweep kicking, knocking Xisumavoid to the ground. I kicked his sword away from his hand, grabbing it and sitting on his back, pinning him down. He wheezed from the sudden weight dropped onto his back.
"Even though I don't know how to use his body correctly, I do know the simple techniques." I had his arm in a bar, threatening to break it. He recognized this and didn't move.
"I bet you'd flop into your face if you tried using my wings." I scowled (well, not me, but Head Watcher using me). Speaking of him, his regular body twitched. He was going to wake up soon.
"You know, Grian, I have wings myself." I say, responding to my own taunt.
"I never see you fly, do you even use them?"
"Yes."
"Uh huh, sure. I believe you."
"Are you having a conversation with yourself?" Xisuma interrupted, lifting his head up slightly. I tightened the lock and he put his head back onto the floor.
"Hey, could you tell Xisuma I say hi?"
"No, I'm not saying that."
"Saying what?" The man in question asked.
"Nothing-"
"Say it, or when I get back I'll kick your a-"
"He says hi." I said out loud, sneering.
"O-oh, um... hi?" He stuttered.
"Anyway, before I was so rudely interrupted, you won't make it out of here alive. You're stuck here, forever." I wrinkle my nose. "And not as a Watcher." I lean closer to his ear. "As a prisoner." Xisuma suddenly threw a backwards elbow with his unlocked arm, knocking me in the nose. I flinch back, grasping my nose in pain. I let him go, falling back again. Xisuma scrambled to his feet and ran towards me. I tried kicking him away, but he pushed my leg down and threw a hook at me. It it me square in the side of the face. He side-kicked me in the chest. I double over in pain, gasping loudly from the pain of fractured ribs.
We looked at each other, emotions clashing on the inside. I wanted to hate Xisuma, but that was the Head Watcher influencing me. Xisuma probably hates me because I injured him. I didn't want to hate Xisuma, as it wasn't his fault he has to defend himself. He probably didn't want to hate me because he knew it wasn't Grian hurting him, it was the Head Watcher.
Before either of us could send hate towards each other, the doors slam open. A whole army of admins were behind those doors, battle-ready and prepared to kill the Head Watcher.
