Chapter 16;

Fauna:

 I rode out of the country towards the battlefield, an arrow flew past me missing me slightly, majesty neighed sensing danger, I got down from majesty and setting my arrow on my bow, another arrow flew past again only I caught it and looked at it, it was the Japanese

‘show yourself, I’m not afraid’

‘I hoped you wouldn’t, so you are the girl with the purple hair I heard of, it is wonderful to meet you finally’ I pointed my sword at her

‘it is a lovely sword you got there and I like your hair’

‘state your business’ I growled

‘you’re feisty’ she drew out her sword ‘if I kill you now, one loss to your empire which won’t be fair because your people have killed quite a lot of my people’

‘we never wanted to fight you, you threatened my kingdom and I have no choice but to stop it’

‘I like your bravery, you are royalty aren’t you?’

‘no’

‘so your death won’t be a big loss then’ she said and launched at me and began crossing swords, she was good, very good, where did she learn and who taught her, I held her hand and kicked her stomach which sent her to the ground.

‘not bad’ she said getting up and throwing her sword away, I dropped mine also and we began throwing punches, I punched her face and blood began oozing from her lip and nose, she cleaned her lip with the back of her palm, her face reddened with anger and she launched at me again and we tumbled on the floor with her above me

‘is this brown I see in your hair’ she said getting up ‘who are you?’

‘I am Aurelia Montez of Scotland and my hair, it is none of your business’ she smiled

‘I ask you again, who are you, loyal, brave and true, three virtues which you don’t have, I’ll give you that you are brave indeed and maybe loyal but true, no, you are not. You are a liar; I can see it’

‘I am not a liar’

‘I won’t judge you because we are alike, my parents don’t know I’m here fighting you neither do my army know who I truly am and I’m guessing the same applies to you’

‘you know nothing about me’

‘if you don’t stop lying about yourself, no one would remember the real you, you would be lost forever’

‘I am true to myself’

‘then you will die a worthless liar’ she said and threw a small knife at me, it didn’t hit me, I missed it and fell, the purple wig pulled from my hair, looking up she was gone, I sat on the floor, I should have listened to mother, this wasn’t my thing, tears flowed down my cheeks, I had two options, it was either I go back home and be the coward I was choosing to be or I go and join the warriors and be the warrior I always wanted to be, Bethany was waiting for me, liz, Claudia, Stephanie and Louisa, they were all waiting for me and I couldn’t let them down, I picked up my sword and put on the wig and mounted majesty and rode off, I am no coward, I am brave.

 I spotted my sister beside Mereleona, Andrew and Caleb too then prince Zac and his sister and luke fighting, looking up, the Japanese were preparing bombs to throw down at us just as I had suspected, they were willing to sacrifice the lives of their warriors just to kill us, we had to get rid of them before they could start throwing their bombs.

Bethany:

‘they are too many, they are going to start throwing bombs anytime soon’

‘I can see them’ someone fell above me and a sword flew past our heads, I looked up to see my brother Andrew

‘watch out little sister, I can’t lose you’ I nodded and got up picking my sword

‘you okay’ stella said

‘yeah, I’m good’ just then arrows fired into the battle, it was like history repeated itself once more. It wasn’t an enemy’s arrow, it shot our enemies, I picked up one of the arrows, it said “H”, I remembered giving fauna arrows that had H on them, H was for Hildegard and Hildegard was my sister fauna, she was here

‘you guys, Aurelia is here’ I heard Elizabeth shout, thank God the triplets were okay, I looked up to see her

‘is she riding Majesty, how did she get Majesty’ that was Caleb. She came with the purple hair, mother let her or did she run away again, as she rode to where we were she suddenly removed the purple hair letting her brown locks free, it was mother’s doing

‘Aurelia changed her hair’ Penelope said

‘that is not Aurelia, that is my sister’ she got down from majesty fighting off the remaining Japanese who escaped her arrows

‘don’t just stand there gawking, move’ I shouted at them and we went to help her, I went towards where she fought and hugged her ‘you came back’

‘a royal never runs from battle, someone asked me as I came who I was, I couldn’t answer well but now I know who I am’

‘I am so proud of you fauna’ she smiled at me

‘guys, I’m sure you want to know who I truly am but now isn’t the time, they are preparing bombs to throw at us and with my plans earlier, our armors shield is resistant to such and so it would rebounce it, we have to come together to form a shield’

‘why should we trust you, you lied to us all’ stella said, anger all over her face

‘I know I have no excuse for lying to you all but I beg you to trust me, if we want to come out here alive and victorious you have to trust me. This is just a distraction, they have entered the empire, I fought with one of them on my way here’

‘how do we know you are not working with them’

‘how dare you speak about my sister that way’ Andrew said

‘I am princess Fauna of Scotland, this is my home, this is my kingdom, if you want me out of the academy I will gladly leave but we have to win this first’

‘enough with the buts I’m getting tired, if her highness was still Aurelia we would have listened once, but now she has come as a princess of our empire and we will listen to her and her plans, if we are successful, we will recall this issue, anyone has something to say contradicting my decision?’ prince Zachary said, no one spoke ‘Good, now make the shield and stall them’

‘my sister will lead us back into the empire to stop those already inside, Zachary, Lucas, you will come with us’ Andrew said and got on his horse, I got on mine giving fauna a smile and we rode into the city.

‘they are here for something that I know’

‘they want the royalty’s alliance so that they can take over our empire. If our parents grant them that we can kiss our crowns goodbye’ fauna replied  

‘Fauna I am going to kill you when we are done with all these’ Andrew said

‘come on Andrew, she is your baby sister, you can’t hold a grudge’

‘can you hear yourself Bethany, does she know what she caused me’

‘don’t tell me you’re starting to care about me now your highness’ fauna said and rode past him

‘I told you to let it go’ I replied and also rode past him. We entered Ireland’s castle and came down from our horses.

‘the castle is quiet, this isn’t how it is supposed to be, spread out’

Fauna;

As Bethany said spread out, I entered the castle, going into the throne room to see the same girl I fought sitting on the throne.

‘brown looks good on you Aurelia or no, I should bow, your majesty, princess Fauna, gosh I’ve heard so much about you’

‘now I recognize you, princess yuki and you should address me as your highness weren’t you taught that in japan’

‘no I wasn’t, thank you for enlightening me’ I flipped my sword

‘get up, that seat isn’t for you’

‘I’m just warming it for my father’

‘your father will never sit on that throne’

‘your parents won’t either, it is either you pledge your alliance to us or you and your people die’

‘you’ll be the one dying I can feel it’ she smiled

‘once I destroy you and your people and get your alliance, my father will have no choice than to make me his heir, after all I have done what my siblings could not do’

‘yuki, you cannot go and destroy a full empire just because you want to be queen’

‘oh I can, and I’m going to be starting with you’ she said a threw small knives at me, I dodged them and ran she followed me and continued throwing knives, I looked around, there was nowhere to jump to, we ran into the castle hall and I stopped.

‘tired so easily’ I turned around and shot arrows at her which she dodged all but one which pierced her shoulder and she fell, she removed the arrow and threw it away, her face reddened, she was angry but so was I ‘enough with the games, I am going to kill you’

‘I’ll kill you first’ I said and launched at her giving her punches, she kicked my side and I fell landing on a wooden table breaking it, I got up and she kicked me down again, drawing up her sword, she placed it on my neck

‘now you see who is superior, I was born to be a queen and I will make it so even if it is by force’

‘you don’t have what it takes to be a queen’

‘why do you care; you’d be dead before I’m crowned’ she said laughing

‘no, you would be dead before you are crowned’ and with that I kicked her off me and threw her sword to a corner, pressing my boot on her chest, I drew up my own sword and placed it on her neck, her eyes showed fear, just the way I liked it, she suddenly pushed me and began running, Zac entered the hall and she pushed him down and ran, I brought out my arrow and shot at her, she couldn’t miss this one, it struck her back, she stopped running and turned around to face me, the arrow passed through her heart and came out, she fell on her knees before taking her last breath, I fell on my knees with a sigh, I did it, with her down the battle was over.

‘are you okay’ I looked up to see Zac covered in blood

‘I’m better than you are’ he smiled

‘you don’t look like you fought, you only sustained a few scratches’ I laughed

‘at least my mother would let me fight next time’

‘you did it, I always believed in you Aurelia, or should I call you fauna’

‘fauna would be nice’

‘fauna it is then, we should start over, I am prince Zachary of England’ he said with a bow

‘and I am princess Fauna of Scotland, it is a pleasure you meet you your highness’ I replied with a curtsy

‘the pleasure is all mine’

‘Fauna, you’re alright, you did it darling’ Bethany said hugging me so did Andrew and Caleb

‘I missed you so much fauna, I suppose I owe you an apology, I’m sorry I wasn’t the best big brother to you’ Caleb said

‘and I’m sorry I ignored you and promised to kill you after, you deserve to be angry at me not the other way’

‘I’m sure this was so hard for you to say prince Andrew’

‘can you be quiet Leona’ I looked at stella, she glared at me and walked away

‘what is her problem?’

‘she’s angry, don’t worry she’ll get over it soon’ Leona said and I hoped it was true. I was wrong to lie to them but I couldn’t tell them the truth, stella had all the rights to be angry I wouldn’t blame her but still she should understand.

‘if stella was truly your friend, she should understand any reason you chose, because whatever reason you have, I respect your decisions’ Leona said
