Pajama Fighting

"No, it's become a challenge now." Nico cracked his fingers. "He's gonna regret this."
Chills ran up my spine and I almost left his dreams immediately. "Okay then. Good luck."
"I won't need luck. Sam will."
Alright, I'm out. Let Sam deal with that.
"Jackson, get up, we've got to make up for lost time!" Tony's voice came over the speaker in my room. "No time for sleep or dilly dallying. You going to school has set the testing back for too long!"
"I don't sleep, Tony." I said calmly, not moving from my very comfy position laying down on my bed. "I meditate."
"Right." Tony's voice was very unbelieving.
"It's true, I don't need to sleep."
"Okay, kid, let's get a move on, we're burning daylight."
"You do know I'm over 200 years old, right?"
"You know what—"
"Yes?"
..."Just get down here, Jackson."
"Is someone finding it hard to make a nickname for me?" I asked with an amused smile. "You could always call me what my cousins call me."
"What's that?"
I suddenly decided that continuing this conversation through the speaker was annoying so I flashed to Tony's location. "Kelphead."
Tony let out a very manly screech (it was actually similar to a little girl's but don't tell him that). "How did you do that?"
"I did this when the hydra was attacking, did you not notice?" I asked skeptically.
"No." He said, put off. "How are you doing it?"
"Part of the powers every being of power has in my family." I answered, shrugging. "It comes naturally, I'm not sure exactly how it works. I'm sure Athena has done a full analysis though."
"Enough with the chit-chat, I wanna see some action!"
I looked over to see that Luke had found a lawn chair and was sitting in it sideways with the biggest bowl of popcorn I've ever seen. Peter, his friends, and the rest of the Avengers were sitting with him in various places themselves. On work out benches, the floor, Clint had also found another camping chair.
"You should pull Luke in too," I suggested to Tony. "Just to see a difference."
"Between what? A mortal vs a god?" Tony chuckled. "Aren't I already doing that with the Avengers?"
I eyed the billionaire as if he were a few screws loose. "Luke's not a mortal."
"What?"
"He's a demigod," I said. "Who has partial immortality. He can die in battle but not from disease or old age. He's older than I am."
"Only by about seven years!" Luke called over before anyone could get crazy ideas. "Sam's the ancient one."
"When are we going to meet everyone you keep talking about?" Peter asked curiously.
I saw several heads pop up and look at me expectantly. Shrugging, I said, "They're very busy doing my jobs right now."
"And mine." Luke threw in. "Now get fighting! Who's first?"
"I'll go first." Steve volunteered. He was the only one standing in the back of the group.
"Alright, Capsicle, test Percy here primarily on strength and endurance." Tony said, looking at the clipboard Penny was holding. "I already tested some on his style and tolerance in my suit when Peter and co. came on their field trip."
Steve looked resigned. "You already know he exceeds my endurance, Tony."
"Yeah, not possible. He looked like he had just gotten out of bed." Tony protested. "Now, get going!"
The fight between Steve and I was only long because I decided to show Tony what Steve was talking about. It started off fast, as if Steve were trying to see if he could tire me down with a sudden onslaught of attacks. He had no luck because not only can I sprint without problems, I can keep it up for a good amount of time. I trained my first few months as a new god with that specifically in mind. Eventually, Steve slowed down once he saw that he wasn't getting anywhere and went for more strategic punches.
"Woah, that was a good one, Cap!" Luke called front he sidelines. "Go for his left leg!"
Thud
"Ha ha! Serves you right for listening to me! Now try judo flipping him!"
"Do you even know how to do that?" I questioned curiously.
"No." Steve grunted as he landed on his back.
"Suggest something else, Luke! Natasha hasn't gotten around to teaching him that."
"For shame, Natasha." Luke scolded. "He can't survive on a '40's fighting style in this day and age, I'm surprised he made it this far!"
"Would you stop yapping?" Tony exclaimed. He was eyeing us carefully. "Percy, stop dodging and actually fight! You're gonna wear yourself out!"
"He's not the one getting tired, Stark." Natasha pointed out, sounding as if she were amused. Most people probably wouldn't have noticed the inflection in her voice but I've lived too long not to notice things like that.
"What?"
I smirked as I dodged another punch that came a tad slower than the others. "Getting tired, Rogers?"
"Stop...moving..." Steve panted.
It's been a while since we'd started and since it looks as if Steve was back where he was when we went on a run my first day, I decided to end the fight. I pulled a familiar judo flip on him—that he didn't see coming—and he ended up on...his face?
Luke burst out laughing.
"How'd you do that, soldier?" I asked, leaning down to look at his face, which was smushed in the mat.
All Steve did was groan tiredly.
I looked up to see Tony's stunned face and laughed along with Luke. Who, by the way, started choking on a kernel.
With Clint pounding Luke's back, I turned to the other Avengers. "Who's next?"
Bruce eyed me closely. "I think Nat should go. I would suggest a five minute break at least, but Tony's right, you look like you just got out of bed."
"And it's not the pjs that's doing it." Tony added. "It's probably a good thing you didn't put on your armor this time, you might have broken Steve's hands."
"Did you figure out what my armor is made of?" I asked Tony curiously. I knew that one of the first things he would have made his AI do (after I'd said it was stronger than vibranium) would be to analyze it. I was curious to see if his AI knew some of the metals.
"All Friday could tell was that it was a combination of a few metals in some parts and a metal similar to gold in the rest." Tony said in frustration. "I had her run all the tests I could think of."
I just smiled, turning back to Natasha, who was now eyeing me calculatingly from the other end of the mat. "Ready when you are, Widow."
Without another word, she ran at me and jumped. Her legs wrapped around my neck, using gravity and her body weight to pull me down but I quickly recovered and popped back up to my feet. She hadn't even a chance to completely get to her feet by the time I was running at her.
"Have you tried slapping him?" Luke called a little later in the fight. At this point, Natasha had tried so many moves, I'm sure Luke learned a few. He'd run out of ideas a while ago and Natasha resorted to using some of the gadgets she had on her person but none stuck. Eventually, I managed to wrestle her short stick things (I'm sure someone else can tell you the names, I'm the god of battle, not weapons) from her and knocked her out.
So that was a match won. Three for Percy, zero for the Avengers.
"Who's next?" I asked cheerfully as I effortlessly carried her to lay next to Clint. He was staring at me in shock.
Peter and his friends have been silent the entire time and were now staring at Natasha in awe. Steve still had his face smushed in the floor. So I looked to Bruce who had suggested her in the first place.
"Thor?" Bruce asked nervously.
Thor grinned excitedly. "I would be honored if you would spar with me, Lord Percy."
"Sure, Thor, get over here."
"Oh, this is about to get good." Luke settled in his chair happily. His hand reached for more popcorn but came up empty. "Wait! I need more popcorn! Don't start 'til I get back!"
"Powers?" I asked Thor.
He grinned and held out his empty hand. Mjölnir crashed through the ceiling and into his hand.
From the hole in the ceiling, everyone heard Luke, "I said don't start yet!"
