"Tell me what?" she picked up the glass

"Hmm, will start the training soon" he murmured

"Aarti, where are you?"

Aarti gave a broad smile "Sheetal"

"Veer, I will just be back"

Aarti rushed out of the room....

"I am so happy to see everyone here" She tightly hugged Sheetal and Kavita.

Sameer kept the bag on the table "Where's Veer"

"He's in that room" Aarti smiled at her sister who still looked angry

Sameer, Uday, Arjun and Nakul slightly opened the door...

"Veer"

A small smile crept across his lips... "Sameer....Uday" he hugged them

"Arjun, Nakul"

"You have forgotten us Veer" Uday sadly looked at him

Arjun saw the injuries on Veer's body "you have become the country's hero. Every other newspaper talks about you"

Feeling wistful after meeting his friends after years Veer didn't knew how to react "glad you all came"

"Veer, you should have at least contacted us once" Sameer frowned at him

"It was Aarti, who told us everything. At least she is better than you" Nakul crossed his arms.

"Ok, fine" Veer raised his voice a little... "Feel like beating Aarti" he whispered

Arjun laughed "you haven't changed"

All five laughed and talked about their college days.

After few minutes

"Enjoying" Kavita sauntered in the room with some nibbles.

Everyone went silent. She wondered what must have happened.

She quietly left the things on the table... the moment she closed the door Arjun laughed "silly as usual"

"Come on Arjun, she has more brains than you" Nakul added

"Really, how do you know?"

"Cause she hasn't married you yet" Nakul teased him

Sameer watched Veer "when are you getting married?"

"Haven't decided yet, tell me about you Sameer"

"I am engaged, getting married next month"

"Congratulations"

"Thanks Veer"

"Hi Veer" Vikram slide the door with a broad smile "never thought we would meet again"

"How are you Vikram" Veer hugged him

"I was perfect before marriage" Vikram winked

Everyone laughed

Next day

Mr Oberoi made sure all the things were ready, he was waiting for this day eagerly, when Veer and Aarti will get engaged.

Kirti was still upset with her sister "you know Aarti, you are making a mistake"

Aarti kept all the plates nicely on the table "you should be helping me but instead you are saying all this"

"Because I know what will happen"

Sheetal signed at Kirti not to talk about this anymore

Kirti walked away "fine, do what you want"

Aarti was waiting for her parents to come. The last decision was her parents. She knew her Mother already knows she loves Veer and wouldn't have any reason to say no.

"You know Sheetal, I am so happy today. Finally I will get engaged to Veer"

Sheetal smiled at her friend "I am very happy for you Aarti, I have never seen you so happy before"

Veer slowly walked towards the couch and greeted Aarti's parents.

Aarti blushingly looked at Veer. He smiled a little at the beautiful girl standing in front of him.

"So we must get a date for the marriage" Mr Oberoi asked Aarti's parents.

"Mr Oberoi, we have no problem in this marriage. But we have one condition"

Aarti looked at Veer who frowned instantly "what is your condition?"

Rama looked at Aarti "we worry about her, and you as well. So our only condition is that if you quit your job."

"That's it" Veer stood up angrily... "In that case, I will advise you to get your Daughter marry someone else"

"Veer, wait" Sameer called from behind but Veer didn't listen.

Aarti shockingly looked at him leaving the lounge. With moist eyes she glanced around her parents and Mr Oberoi who seemed helpless.

"Aarti, pack your bags. You are going back home with us" Rama shouted at her angrily

Aarti looked at her Mother with tears in her eyes, she knew Veer will never leave the job. But she was upset over Veer's reply. She was stuck between her Mother and Veer. Both would not understand her emotional state.

"I told you before, this is going to happen" Kirti raised her voice at Aarti who was stunned at everyone.

"Kirti, stop shouting at her" Vikram pulled her outside.

Sheetal hugged Aarti who was still not able to comprehend the whole situation.

"Veer, you shouldn't have left..." Sameer tried to talk to him while Veer frowned angrily

"How dare she asked me to leave me job" he yelled

Uday assured Veer "she's Aarti Mother, and any Mother would be concerned about their Daughter's wellbeing."

"So do you think I am not capable of her?"

"Of course you are. But she's just scared about her future. That's it"

"Then she can get her Daughter marry someone else. I didn't invite her to come here"

Sameer shook his head, he knew it's not easy to convince Veer.... "Ok, I think you need rest Veer"

Sheetal looked at Aarti who didn't speak a word and was sitting on the bed with tears in her eyes.... "Aarti...are you listening?"

Sameer watched Aarti putting her clothes in the bag "Sheetal, did you talk to her"

"I did Sameer, but she hasn't even spoken a word."

"Veer is so adamant, I don't know how to explain him" Sameer shook his head

Arjun went to drink some water "you know Arjun, even our story is simple"

"I know Kavita...but I don't understand why Aarti's mother has kept this condition"

"What do you mean Arjun, kept condition? Aunty wants her welfare, that's all"

"So is Veer not capable for her?"

"Well she means he keeps fighting and it's not good for their future" Kavita annoyingly kept the glass on the table

"You are mad Kavita, he doesn't fight. He's a commando damn it" Arjun furiously threw the glass away.

"Whatever"

"It's not whatever, stop behaving like an illiterate woman"

"Just stop it Arjun, I don't want to talk about this. You men are stupid" Kavita banged the door behind her

"O God, why did you create women, and specially this Kavita"

Arjun kept his hand on his head

"Did you hear what Veer said to Mom" Kirti walked towards the car

"I know Kirti, but understand Veer's situation" Vikram held her hand

She pulled away angrily "no, what situation are you talking about Vikram?"

"You know he's our country's hero, pride"

"Nonsense Vikram, his life is in a big risk and so will be Aarti's if she gets married to him"

Vikram nodded his head "it's so difficult to convince you Kirti, you won't understand"

"Let's go home now" She raised her voice angrily

"But Veer is..."

She cut him in between "Veer, what? We cannot keep on waiting for him to change his decision"

"As far as I know Veer, he will never change his decision" Vikram said softly
