Multiple thoughts run through my head when I return to my hotel room. While searching for the keycard, the door surprisingly opens from the inside, and my eyes meet Liam's. It seems like he's on his way out, holding his cellphone, and my corrupted mind begins to wander unnecessarily.

"Where are you going?" I ask him immediately.

"Shouldn't the normal question be, when did I come back?" Liam replies, his tone casual.

"I'm not in the mood, Liam. Where are you going?" All I think of is that woman.

"To get my woman, I can't sleep without her," Liam answers and lifts his phone that has my caller ID on the display. "I was about to call you, since I couldn't find you here. I knew you'd be with Sam, so I was heading over there."

Oh! I mutter inwardly. I need to talk to him before I lose my mind.

"Okay, let's go in," I suggest calmly, but my voice betrays the attempt to sound unbothered. "I didn't know you'd be back so soon given the company you had." And here we go, turning on the bitchy mode.

I can't help it!

"Your sarcasm is quite strange today; you hardly talk this way. Is there any problem?" asks Liam as we both dive inside the room, and he shuts the door afterwards.

"What do you mean?" I head straight towards the bedroom so that I can finally undress and take a shower.

"Your tone of voice is rather disturbing, Kira," Liam states matter-of-factly, stalking me. "Is this about the earlier incident? Are you still bothered that you found me with them?"

You bet. I sit heavily on the bed.

A short silence prevails as I take off my ankle boots. He keeps calm until I finally say, "You have every right to hang out with the people you consider friends, so I don't really have any reason to be mad about that." I rise up from the bed.

"So then?" Liam insists.

"So then I—" I pause, staring undecidedly at him.

Should I just blurt it out?

"What, Kira?" Liam urges.

"Nothing. I need a shower. I'll be quick." I grab my shoes and place them near the closet.

"Have you had dinner?" Liam asks, not knowing what else to say regarding my dark mood.

"Yeah," I answer while tugging my top off. "And you?" I gaze at him over my shoulder.

"I had a very late lunch, I'm still full." He takes a seat on the bed, his mood less bright than he was this morning.

"A late lunch? What is that?" I manage to smile, and for once he chuckles at the sight.

"I ate around five, so I'm not really hungry. Unless we're going to have dinner together, I'm not thinking of going out again."

"Seriously, Liam? Don't you know there's a room service?" I look him in the eyes while unzipping my latex miniskirt. He's lying lazily on the bed, arms crossed behind his head. "You can order some food and eat later." I shrug off my skirt, his eyes are intent on my half-naked body.

"I know, but I was hoping we would eat together. Just the two of us." He smiles.

"But I'm full." I pick the skirt and toss it on the couch.

"Okay." He sighs, looking tired and disappointed.

"You're not hungry," I conclude, slowly unhooking my bra. "If you were, no excuse would stop you from eating." I tug it off and throw it towards him.

He catches it with a playful grin and I walk toward the bathroom, smiling.

"You're surely looking for trouble," he mutters under his breath.

My smile disappears the minute I step into the bathroom. I quickly run the shower, letting my tense body relax at the warmth of warm water cascading down my skin. And to think I had an expensive massage earlier today; only to feel stressed right now.

Thinking of my future husband and the new mystery, I release a soft sigh. But suddenly the door flings open and I knew Liam wouldn't sit still. I inhale sharply, feeling his presence approaching the shower stall. I shudder with anticipation, waiting for him to hold me.

In a second I feel a pair of familiar hands taking possession of my body from behind. It's ethereal—as always—making my breath hitch and eyes shut right away. Liam's bare chest collides with my back, skin to skin, water running gently onto us from the shower head.

"You didn't want to invite me, did you?" he asks in a husky voice, cupping my breasts with either of his palms.

"No, I didn't," I utter hoarsely, my head laid back onto his shoulder. He's wearing nothing, I feel every part of his body through my skin.

"Why?" Liam kisses my neck. He still affects me despite being very far emotionally—this beautiful jerk who turns my world around. "Are you okay, Kira?" he suddenly inquires.

"I'm not okay," I confess and it's a cue for us to interrupt the pleasure. "I'm not going to keep this to myself," I say while turning around. Liam frees me as I ask, "We promised to be honest with each other, right?"

Liam nods, confused. "What's the matter, my love? I can tell something is not okay, and yes, I would like to know what's happening," he says.

"Yeah. But let's finish the shower and I'll tell you," I suggest calmly, and we agree to do as much.

I'm no longer going to keep things to herself. I make a mental reminder, recalling all the bad outcomes of each time I kept things locked up inside. It's a toxic situation that's always harmful even to me.

We finally step out of the bathroom, all refreshed and cool. It takes not much time until we settle comfortably on the bed, unable to lie down as of yet; not until everything is settled.

"What is it, Kira?" Liam urges, staring intently at me.

"Those women," I start, clearing my throat. "I mean, why are they here? I understand they're from London, right?"

"Yes, they are," Liam replies.

"Okay, but why are they here, Liam? Is it . . . to celebrate with you as a bachelor? I don't really get it." I fail to compose myself when I think of Scarlet as the woman who is not—I can feel it with all my guts—just any woman to him.

"Kira, I'm not sure what you're imagining, but it's not that way." Liam moves closer to me. "Those two women are best friends, just like you and Samantha, so they love going places together. Monique is involved with Malik, although I choose not to say she's his girlfriend.. None of us knew they would come here, it was unplanned."

"I see," I remark. "I understand about Monique, but what about Scarlet, Liam?" I'm determined to read his reaction, and when I do, my heart beats faster. His lips harden. "Is there anything I should know about her?" I ask calmly despite feeling utterly disturbed.

"What do you mean?" Liam squints his blue eyes, and I keep my brown ones still.

"I don't want us to play mind games, Liam!" I bolt out of bed, my mood frantic. "Scarlet Aston is the ballerina who got into an accident about two months ago. The same moment you left Los Angeles after our argument!"

Surprised, Liam releases an audible sigh, wiping his face. "Kira, how—"

"How do I know?" I finish it for him. "It doesn't matter, Liam. I just want to know what's your relationship with her; because I think there's something more. I may not be perfectly smart, but I can tell that she's the reason why you left me during that time. You went to New York to see her! You technically lied to me!" Without intending, I find myself snapping at him and I hate it.

In spite of my hysteria, however, Liam's composure is still intact. A little hint of surprise washes over him, only momentarily, but it's not enough to make his eyes go wide, nor his lips part.

"I did not lie to you," he says softly, other claims undenied.

"Oh?" My eyes blaze, holding my waist restlessly as I watch him.

Sighing, Liam says, "You're right, she's not just someone I know, neither a real friend as I mentioned earlier. However, everything I told you about my trip to New York was true, except that I didn't mention her."

"Okay," I breathe, trying hard to take everything in without a fuss. I sit beside him, exhaling the bad air from my system. "I'm listening," I state.

"I went there for business," Liam continues, "and by pure coincidence I learned that Scarlet was hospitalized there after the accident. She had no one over there other than her manager, so I had to be there for a day, until her relatives arrived."

So that's why he didn't have time to call me and even lost his phone, I hold myself but it only teleports me back in time.

"Who is she to you?" I ask dryly, and for once Liam's jaw tightens. "Just tell me the truth, Liam. I promise I'll try to understand whatever it is."

"She's my ex-girlfriend," Liam answers.

There! I feel a heavy pang on the chest.

"So I was right all along. She's your ex, who's now in your last bachelor moment." I laugh incredulously.

"Kira, I told you that's not—"

"I don't know what to think or feel about this." I shake my head, staring at him in a strange way as he takes a deep breath. "Were you still with her while we started our relationship back in Montana? I mean, you were together in New York and . . ." I fail to go on.

"Kira, I had to be there. It's something I could've done to anyone I know, because it's only human. I'm sorry that I couldn't tell you all the details, because frankly, I didn't see the reason to. Scarlet and I are over since several months ago, and you're my everything, Kira. After seeing how devastated you were, mainly because of my own negligence, I didn't have the heart to tell you that I met my ex while I was in New York; at the same time you were having a hard time because of me," Liam tells me sincerely.

"Swear to me that there's nothing between you two," I plead, hungry for an assurance.

"I swear to you, my love, there's nothing more between that woman and I. We're not even close friends as you're imagining, so you don't need to worry about a thing." Liam pulls me to his side.

"Okay, I understand," I say in a low voice. "I'm sorry if I sounded reproachful earlier. I was only surprised to know that, and it makes me feel bad."

"I love you, Kira." He kisses my temple. "I don't want you to doubt that even for a second. The minute I had you in my life, I lost the reason to look back, nor to search any further, for I felt complete right away. I have it all when I'm with you, so I don't need another woman if it's not you. I didn't think my past relationship would matter to you, and that's why I kept it to myself."

"Liam . . ." My heartbeat accelerates at the sound of his sweet and promising words. "I love you, too." I hug him tight, my eyes shut at the overwhelming joy that he's right here with me.

And all mine.

"I'm glad you talked to me about it," he whispers. "I know how hard it is for you to let out the things that trouble you."

"I'm trying to change. I've learned my lesson that hiding things doesn't conceal the problem," I answer, and he smiles. "Now I can sleep." I chuckle as we pull apart.

"Hmm, sleeping?" Liam raises an eyebrow at me.

"Yes, sleeping. It's ten, Liam and I had a long day."

"So . . . we're not . . . you know?" Liam pretends to be thinking hard.

"What are you up to, Liam?"

"Catching up with what I wanted to do in the bathroom?"

"Liam!" I scream when he suddenly drags into the apex of our bed. Giggling, he jumps on top of me. Woah! "What are you doing?" I laugh uncontrollably, my body trapped by his.

"I miss my wife," he whispers, smiling boyishly down at me.

"Your wife? Are you amnesiac, Mr. Darcy? We're not married yet, remember?"

"We're not? I thought we are married already," he teases.

"Really now?"

"Yes. Did I dream about it last night?" He's now thoughtful.

"And you're my husband?" I chuckle.

"Of course, Kira! Unless you have another man that I'm definitely going to kill."

"You're crazy," I say and the room is filled with laughter. "Actually, you are really—" The cellphone buzz replaces our voices.

"It's yours," says Liam, eyeing the bag on the bedside table. "I'll get it." He swiftly jumps from the bed and fishes the phone from the bag.

"Who is it?" I ask, wondering who could possibly call me at this hour when I hardly have anyone else for that matter.

"It's Sam," replies Liam, frowning.

"Let's see." I casually take the phone from Liam and sit straight. Picking up, I utter, "Hey, Sam—"

"Kira, something's wrong with me!" Sam sobs though the phone, sounding frantic.

"What?" I get up immediately, making Liam frown with confusion. "What's wrong, Sam? Please, calm down, huh?"

"I'm bleeding. I'm so scared, Kira, I don't want to lose my baby."

"No, Sam, you won't. Hold on, okay? Don't move; I'll be there soon." I hang up.

"What's wrong?" Liam queries.

"Get dressed up. I think we need to take Sam to the hospital," I answer.
