In a world where the paranormal is the new normal, Tyra and Blake have never met in person. Tyra knows of the dark prince of the witch kingdom and Blake has heard of the ice daughter of the elves' prime minister. Seventeen year old Tyra learns on the eve of her birthday that an alliance has been formed between the witches and the elves and she is commanded to be betrothed to the prince. Not Blake or Tyra are happy about that agreement. They both have people they are in love with and they don't match. Blake's girlfriend becomes his concubine to the world while Tyra states she will not be disrespected like that. Her feelings for the son of a council man are hidden well inside her heart while trying to maintain her reputation because of Blake's shenanigans.

When the vampires and werewolves begin another war that unlike the others doesn't seem that will last a few days, Tyra and Blake are transferred away from their lands to be protected. Only the plan backfires and they are inside enemy lines. Tyra wanted to face vampires. They were more reasonable. However fate, brought her and her fiance upon the weres and they are not friendly to trespassers. Tyra and Blake learn that putting their differences aside may be the only way they'll live.
