Bakugou awoke to the sound of coughing. His vision was blurry and disoriented. It took him a second, but he finally became aware of his surroundings and the situation. He tilted his head to look beside him. He saw the blurry image of Deku, his green hair shaking as he held out his hands in front of his mouth, coughing violently.
Bakugou's vision corrected itself, becoming clear to see the blood in Deku's hands. The blood escaping his mouth and falling onto his white gloves, staining them with dark maroon.
"Deku?" Bakugou snapped back to reality and became concerned for his smaller friend. Holding his shoulders, looking around frantically, checking for enemies. Deku continued to cough. Bakugou looked to his left, seeing Todoroki still out cold. He looked back to Deku, taking in his visible condition.
His head was bleeding, the bright red blood falling from his hairline down to his chin, caving to his neck. He was littered with scratches from the impact, his costume slightly ripped and torn from debris, and his arm looked better, but did not look top shape condition for sure.
"Hey, are you okay?" Bakugou's voice was rushed and filled with worry.
"Y-Yeah," Deku coughed out words but finally getting a chance to breathe. He breathed in and out heavily as he trembled. "I-I think it's my head."
Deku pointed to the wound on his forehead. "Yeah, you lost quite a bit of blood there." he agreed.
"Is Todoroki awake?" Deku asked, his voice raspy.
Bakugou looked over to Todoroki, still unconscious. He shook his head solemnly. "Sorry..."
"Can we get him awake?" Deku's voice was now firm and direct.
"Maybe, why?"
"We need to get going. We can't stay for too long, we will encounter someone soon enough," he explained.
"We're going to encounter someone either way," Bakugou remarked.
"I know, but we can't stay here. It's too dangerous. I know there's a base somewhere."
"And how do you know that? Are you sure of it?"
Deku hesitated. "Well... no. But-!"
"Ah," Bakugou put a finger to Deku's lips. "I don't wanna hear it. You have a gut feeling, don't you?" Deku nodded slowly. "That's not enough. We need proof. And we don't have that. We don't have hope. You know that."
Bakugou's hand left Deku's mouth. "But we can still try! Maybe instead of finding a safe place, we can look for the villain base! Defeat them!"
Bakugou tucked his head into his knees. "With three people?" he scoffed. "Yeah, no."
"We're the strongest in the class Kacchan. We can take em'!"
"Listen to yourself!" Bakugou snapped. "They started a war! They defeated the heroes! They took their chance after All Might's retirement before a new hero could rise. They planned far more ahead than we knew. Do you think three trainee students could defeat them all? You're dumb to think that."
Deku sighed. Bakugou was right. He looked at Deku. "You're still right. We should move. There could be people and maybe we could create a team of some sort?" he said it more as a suggestion than a statement.
Deku nodded with a small hum, a warm smile appearing on his face.
"Now we just gotta wake up Todoroki," Deku said.
"I got it," Bakugou looked over and held Todoroki's nose, stopping his ability to breathe.
"Uhhh-" Deku was stopped as Todoroki started to cough, gasping slightly for air.
"There we go," Bakugou chuckled to himself, it was amusing.
Todoroki woke up, looking around frantically. His eyes focused and he saw Bakugou and Deku, his muscles relaxed. He took this time to look and let his surroundings sink in. The crushed building, the half-broken wall that they were leaning on. The dim skies and distant sounds of explosions and screams. He furrowed his brows. He was becoming mad. Frustrated. Stressed. Helpless. Only miles away from them, people were dying. Villains were attacking relentlessly. And what were they doing? Sitting on a wall, useless to society.
"Hey, you good?" Bakugou asked, catching the boy's attention.
"Oh, yeah."
"We should start moving then. It'll become too dangerous to stay in one place."
"Yeah," the three stood up. Inhaling and exhaling, mentally preparing themselves for what they might face. Preparing for the war. No one to give them directions on what to do, no one to keep them from making reckless decisions, nothing. They weren't prepared.
No one was.

"TODOROKI! 3'OCLOCK!!" Deku screamed at the boy as he jumped to dodge a knife.
Todoroki turned and used his fire, burning the jumping villain harshly.
"JESUS. HOW MANY ARE THERE!?" Bakugou grunted as he set off a particularly large explosion at a villain. Deku kicking the one he was fighting in the face. Only for more to approach.
"I don't know!" Todoroki shouted. "But it doesn't seem they're going away any time soon!"
"Then we need to get out of here!" Bakugou suggested.
"That seems to be our only hope at the moment!" Deku agreed.
They were currently being bombarded by villains. Not real people, but what seemed to be monsters they created. The League of Villains had some secret weapons. But how many? Bakugou swiftly picked both of the boys up, using his explosions to propel themselves into the air. Bakugou watched the grounds like a hawk, hoping to see a temporary shelter, but nothing was in sight but crushed buildings and villains that were occupied with other battles, or just roaming, looking for a fight.
Bakugou spotted safe grounds, not in the general area of any villains, so they landed, the impact softened by his quirk.
"What the hell were those things?!" Deku panted.
"I don't know. But it doesn't seem there's an end to them," Todoroki replied.
The three have been walking for hours now. And they would soon have to find a place to sleep for the night, which would not be easy.
At. All.
They all looked down, thinking of ideas. "Maybe we could hide out in a building?" Todoroki suggested.
"Too out in the open," Bakugou shut the idea down.
"I don't think anywhere is a good idea," Deku spoke up. "our best option is to keep going, avoid villains, and find supplies. Find a shelter, get a stable supply to keep up healthy and alive. Then we can just hideout. Help will be here. Soon. Maybe America will send help soon enough?"
Bakugou and Todoroki looked at each other. "I think that's our best option," Bakugou said, Todoroki nodding in agreement.
"Well," Todoroki shrugged.
"Now we have something to keep us occupied for the time being."
