Last time

Naruto: Well. Let's head off. I sent a letter to Miss takeda by butterfly mail. She's expecting us, with warm clothes and hot chocolate

Now

Mid-day

*We see Naruto looking at the sun and then at the public sundial with a tired sigh. He was currently inside his beautiful village once more. He was waiting for the 3 girls to get out of the office for visitor passes. He felt so tired, and the day wasn't close to over*

Naruto: God. Konoha really drained me emotionally..... Hey Anakin?

Anakin: No. I'm not gonna be there  guide, while you take a nap. I've got my own shit to worry about

*Anakin said inside the mind of the boy. He was currently looking at the demon he's got trapped in a cage. Naruto groaned softly. As he waved his hand dismissively, he spoke in a soft tone so no one could hear him since he was technically having a conversation with himself*

Naruto: That fox isn't going anywhere. Come on, you saw what I had to deal with. I'm emotionally tired, I could use the break

Anakin: I fail to see how that's my problem. Unless you are in immediate danger, I won't be helping you. You wanted my power, not my partnership

*Anakin said in a professional manner that would make his old council proud. But Naruto could see the bullshit a mile away. He crossed his arms and smirked*

Naruto:..... You just don't want to deal with the cold, do you?

Anakin: I was inside a warm cave for thousands of years, I forgot how cold our country was. So no. I don't want to deal with it

*Anakin admitted, which made Naruto snort in amusement. It also didn't help that Naruto was wearing the bare minimum of protection for the elements, that is to say. He was just wearing his bottom half of his brown kimono, nothing else.

Naruto: Still though, even if today was an important chapter of my life. It was still a footnote, kinda sucks that it feels so long. It's really one of those days, where you just wanna go back to bed

Anakin: I know that feeling. Also, your mother figure, love interest, and little sister figure are coming this way, so you better stop talking to me since from the outside, you look like you're talking to yourself

*Anakin said. As he stopped talking, Naruto gave a short nod and turned around smiling, seeing the 3, woman walk up to him. Hinata was looking around in wonder. All the snow did give the village a bit of a magical look, do it*

Naruto: I assume that there wasn't any problem?

Anko: None, just a bunch of pencils pushing from those guys. I was bored out of my mind. So! Let's get going so that orphanage of yours. I wanna see where my little butterfly grew up

*Anko said with a bright smile, hugging Naruto's shoulder. Naruto smiled kindly and started walking with the other two next to them*

Sakura: gotta admit. This place really is clean.

Naruto: Of course it is. The punishment for vandalism or littering is that an authority figure can hit you with a club until they feel you learned the lesson. So make sure to throw everything in a trash can

*Naruto said casually, Sakura gulped a little at that. But nodded, as she and Hinata kept looking around at the new village. This being the first time they've been to another village, not as Shinobi, but as tourists. Naruto was walking calmly till he got the slightest hint of cheap sake in the air. He put his leg to the side, making the running boy fall flat on his face*

Mugen: Ow! What's the big... Oh, you magnificent bastard

Naruto: Nice to see you out of jail, Mugen. Let's try to keep you out of there, yes?

*Naruto said with a kind, "try me" smile. Since more often than not, Naruto would beat Mugen in a fight. Mugen sighed and got up, turning around and instantly bowing to the merchant following him*

Ando: There you are! You bastard you'll pay for what you did!

Naruto: ok. How much does he owe

*Naruto said walking in front of Mugen, as always Naruto was too good a friend for the boy, as he spoke with the merchant, and paid for Mugen, even paid him extra so he wouldn't report this. Ando huffed, shooting Mugen a glare before he turned around and walked back to his shop*

Mugen: Thanks, man. What would I do without you?

Naruto: be executed, probably. But that's not important, meet some friends of mine that I've made in my travels. And of course, the snake

*Naruto said as he helped Mugen up, Mugen gave a short nod to the two girls before concentrating his gaze on anko. The woman almost managed to make Naruto leave the road of vengeance. Almost, but not quite*

Anko: So, you're the snake? You know Naruto talks non-stop about you. He speaks very highly about you

Anko: he does? Well, ain't that just precious!

*Anko said with a bright smile. Naruto rolled his eyes a little. When Mugen hugged his shoulder, looking at the two girls, he licked his lips a little, something that Sakura didn't appreciate.

Mugen: So....

Naruto: off limits. No touching

*Naruto said sternly, the type of tone that Mugen knew better than to try and cross. He's seen the type of demon Naruto becomes, when he's pissed. So he sighed with a shrug*

Mugen: Aw. Fine, anyways, nice to meet you ladies. Naruto, how's your back, by the way?

Naruto: it's healing. The cold air does feel nice on it. Wanna come with me to see Miss takeda ?

* Naruto asked, but Mugen shook his head, he took out his pouch filled with ryo, tossing it in the air with a small smirk, and a sparkle in his eyes, over what he was planned for today*

Mugen: I would love to. But can't. Heard about this new casino opening up for your little spectacle. You know I can't stay away from the pachinko machines. And if I get lucky, maybe a trip to the red light district

Naruto: god, your gambling gonna be the death of you.

*Naruto said with a chuckle, Mugen pushed him playfully as he started to walk away. He kept tossing the pouch in the air with a calm expression on his face*

Mugen: Probably, but that cursed kunai will be the death of you.

Naruto: Probably. But it's the road I chose to follow. Besides, it's not how long you lived. But what you did with the time you had. And I would say I've done pretty well for myself. See you around, you lazy ass

*Naruto said with a nod. Mugen just waved his hand dismissively as he took a corner and disappeared. Sakura looked at Naruto with a raised eyebrow*

Sakura: Your friends with him?

Naruto: he's an asshole. But still good people. He's as loyal as they come, i assure you. Well, we should hurry home. I can't wait to see the little munchkins

*Naruto said with a deep breath, enjoying the cold air hitting his lungs, as they kept walking. Hinata was bitting down on her lip before she opened her mouth, but anko beat her to it. Thankfully, I asked something similar to what Hinata was gonna ask*

Anko: So. What did he mean by that?

Naruto: the path I choose to walk on. Is a path of revenge. I will not rest till I find the Shinobi who took emiko from me.

*Naruto said in a calm manner, as he smiled and waved at everyone he walked past by. Said people would smile and wave right back to him. Anko was walking next to him. As she spoke, she knew what path he's walking on. She is on the same one with orochimaru, and she doesn't want Naruto to lose his life because of it*

Anko: And what will you do after that?

Naruto: At the moment? There is no after that for me. It's just a fact

*Naruto said with a shrug. He stopped taking with anko for a second to talk to a lovely old couple who wanted to talk to him. They even ended up giving him some candy, which in no way made hinata jealous. Nope. Absolutely not. Once, the old couple went a separate way, and Naruto said goodbye to them. he looks at anko to continue*

Anko: But don't you want more?

Naruto: No. I'm content with the path I'm on and am satisfied with what I've achieved. Hell, I've done things most people take a lifetime to achieve. But all of that is nothing more than a side quest for me. But we can talk about this another time. We're here

*Naruto said with a warm smile seeing his home. Anko, Hinata, and Sakura looked at the orphanage, or should I say orphanages, since it was actually two big houses across from each other*

*Naruto took a deep breath, just happy. Genuinely, fully, completely happy to back home after months of being away on his journey. He took the first step, and then the next, soon enough, he made it to the door and opened it*

Naruto: Guess who's back!!

Little kids: brother Naruto!!!

*The 3 residents of Konoha saw just an ocean of small little children, all crush Naruto, making him fall to the ground. Naruto laughs as he hugged as many as he could. It warmed their hearts seeing the scene unfold. They saw a much older woman walking up to them*

Takeda: Hello, I'm Miss takeda. You must be the visitors Naruto told me about. Unless you two are looking to adopt

Sakura: What?! No! No, no, we're not together. We're not a couple. We're definitely not a couple

*Sakura said loudly with a blush of embarrassment on her face. Hinata slowly turned her head to look at Sakura with a raised eyebrow and an insulted/annoyed smile on her face*

Hinata:...... Wow, you uh, you seem pretty insulted by that. What?  I'm not good enough for you?

Sakura: we're not gonna have this conversation again

*Sakura said with a sigh, pinching the bridge or her nose. Hinata huffed insulted, muttering something about "ino being better anyways" and walking further inside, smiling at all the children*

Sakura: Hello. I'm Sakura Haruno, and that's my best friend, Hinata hyuga. And this is anko Mitarashi. Or, as you probably know her as snake

Miss takeda: Oh yes! Come in, come in. You must be freezing

*Miss takeda said, letting the other two pass. Naruto got up, smiling brightly at his brother and sisters of the orphanage. He took a sealing scroll out of his pocket, and they knew that that meant they started to get excited*

Naruto: Now.....who wants new toys?!

The children: toys, toys, toys, toys!!!

*The children cheered as Naruto opened the seal, and a small mountain of toys appeared in front of him. The 3 Shinobi resident of Konoha saw in horror as the children became nothing short of animals, as they fought for the new toys, miss takeda guided the 3 konoha residents to the kitchen, as they were walking. Naruto stopped by someone calling his name*

Saki: n...Naruto

Naruto: ah, saki.

*Naruto said with a soft smile as he looked at the woman he helped in wave country (chapter 7). She looks so much better than the last time he saw her. Saki looked surprised seeing the boy who was the first to show her a bit of kindness in front of her again*

*Saki walked quickly to the boy and instantly gave him a hug. Naruto closed his eyes with a warm smile still on his face as he hugged her back*

Naruto: It warms my heart to see you in such high spirits, my friend. Or should I call you big sister, like the other helpers of the orphanage

Saki: You can call me however you like. It's... it's wonderful to see you again.

*Saki said, sniffling a little, Naruto chuckled and kissed her cheek before they let go of each other. Saki cleaned her tears a little with a small smile on her face*

Naruto: The feeling is mutual sister saki. Tell me, how is little Natsumi Yoshida doing?

Saki: Oh, she's doing wonderfully. Growing bigger and bigger every day. When she grows up, I'll make sure she knows of the kind man who saved her and her mama

*Saki said with more emotions in her tone that she could even express. Naruto just gave a polite smile and a small bow*

Naruto: Now that does warm my heart even more. We must set up a tea or some sort for us to spend time together, Sister saki

Saki: I...I would enjoy that. I would enjoy that very much. Oh dear. I should probably help the little ones

*Saki said as she went to try and calm down the animals in the toy mountain. Naruto watched her for a bit, a soft smile never leaving his face, seeing what a small moment of kindness can do to a person. He was taken out of his thoughts by the soft voice of Miss takeda*

Takeda: Naruto? Are you coming?

Naruto: Yes. Sorry miss takeda

*Naruto said as he turned around and walked to the kitchen with the rest. Saki looked at her savior leave and couldn't help but smile as he left. She opened her mouth to speak, but only a whisper came out*

Saki: Thank you....

With Naruto

Sakura: Who was that?

Naruto: saki Yoshida. Someone I helped before I made it to konoha. That's quite the story. You see, I made it to wave country

*And so Naruto spoke, retelling the whole first arc of this story. By the end of it, anko and takeda were smiling proud, Hinata just looked at Naruto as more of a hero than before. And Sakura? She was filled with guilt. Since her team was the one that abandoned that mission. They were the ones that let people like saki to suffer, for not having enough money to afford their services. Takeda and Naruto's conversation didn't make the guilt any easier.

Takeda: Honestly, Shinobi scums don't have any compassion left in their souls. They traded it for greed

Naruto: I know your anger. Believe me, I do, since I feel the same anger. To let people suffer simply because of ryo is nothing short of disgusting. But let us not let that event taint our day. Remember that I come with visitors

*Naruto said with a smile, takeda nodded with a smile as she started talking with Hinata and anko. While Sakura looked out the kitchen door, she could just catch a glance of saki playing with the children. It almost made her sick to imagine all she had to go through. Just like saki, Sakura opened her mouth, but only a whisper came out*

Sakura: I'm sorry....
