Nighttime

*Hinata, Sakura, and anko were in the backyard of Hinata and Sakura's home. After hours of grilling Sakura about the date, the three of them ended up just hanging out for a bit. Anko, seeing the sun set, fully stood up and stretched*

Anko: Well, as fun as this was. I should get going. Tell Naruto to come look for me whenever he comes back

Sakura: Of course. Have a good night, anko

*Sakura said with a polite nod, anko just gave the girl a 2, finger salute and was on her way out, when she heard hinata speak up*

Hinata: Um. G.. guys. I don't think you'll need to wait a whole lot

Anko: What do you mean by that?

*Anko asked. She looked and saw Hinata pointing. Sure enough, there was Naruto. Or well, a huge ball of butterflies. Once the butterflies landed in the backyard, from the migration, they made a little hurricane as they disappeared, where there once was a butterfly, now there was a tired looking Naruto, Naruto saw the girls and gave them all a small wave, with a very tired smile*

Naruto: Ladies. Lovely night we have at this fine time, don't you agree?

Hinata: I... It's fine. But Naruto, how are you? The punishment? What was it?

*Hinata asked with so much concern. But Naruto just waved his hand dismissively as he walked towards them. They were slightly concerned. When Naruto stumbled on his steps, he put it in the back of their mind. As he stood next to anko*

Naruto: The punishment was something appropriate to my crimes, in the eyes of iron country. You don't need to concern yourself with them.

Anko: Well, you look fine. I'm glad for it

*Anko said with a bright smile. As she slapped Naruto's back.*

Naruto:gah!

*Naruto let out as he winced and fell to his knees with his body trembling. He got such a jolt of pain that he couldn't even scream. His eyes trembled while he grinded his teeth in pain. The 3 of them were taken by surprise and were quickly horrified by the blood slowly covering the kimono. Anko didn't waste time and took off his kimono, only to be horrified, seeing the mangled back of her boy*

Anko: NARUTO WHAT IN KAMI NAME HAPPENED TO YOU?!!!

Naruto: I was punished for my crimes.  There's nothing more than that. I'll be fine, I just need to rest.

*Naruto said weakly, as he took some very deep breath to calm down. He got up slowly, with anko helping him up, she made absolutely sure that her hands were nowhere near his back. Sakura looked at him with a mix of shock and anger*

Sakura: What you need is to go to the hospital!

Naruto: I appreciate the concern. But that won't be happening. This is also part of my punishment. I must let my wounds heal naturally. To heal it by chakra, or by my butterflies, spits in the face of the lesson

*Naruto said calmly. As he looked at his bandaged chest, he'll need to swap the pair with some clean ones after this conversation was over. Sakura raised her hands in the air, absolutely outraged, that Naruto is somehow fine with this*

Sakura: What lesson is that?! Do as I say or I'll hurt you?!

Naruto: No. Discipline. These wounds on my back are the price I must pay in order to help those who are Shinobi. And Hinata. I see that look on your face

*Naruto said with a small smirk as he looked at her. Hinata, for her part, looked so guilty. Since in her mind, Naruto only got like this because of her.*

Hinata: How can I not have a look? Look what happened to you. All because of me.

Naruto: Then sleep well, knowing that this isn't the first time I've been punished like this. And It won't be the last. I am a ronin who can't stop his bleeding heart from helping those who are in need of help. Be it Samurai, Shinobi, civilian, oni. What have you. If I can help, I will. 

*Naruto said with a fire that couldn't be burned out behind his eyes. This was who Naruto was. No matter the universe, no matter the past. Naruto will always help those in need. Anko looked at Naruto with a raised eyebrow*

Anko: Oni?

Naruto: A tale for another time. Of my travels outside the elemental nations, I believe they prefer calling themselves mutants. Most of them were green in color. But they were very few that were blue in color, and unlike the tales we've been told. They were kind creatures. Just want to be left alone. But for now? I must change my bandages and rest

*Naruto said, now they were really worried, since Naruto stopped himself from one of his long tales. with a small bow as a goodbye, and he left to his room or tried to. He took one step before Sakura grabbed his wrist*

Sakura: Let me help you. I have some knowledge in putting bandages on, and I even have some ointment that'll numb the pain

Naruto: That won't be necessary

*Naruto assured with a kind smile. But the look Sakura was giving told him. That it wasn't an option. She had a deep feeling to hit some sense into him, but in the end. She just sighed frustratedly. As she tried to remain kind, Naruto noticed how she softly rubbed his wrist with a thumb*

Sakura: Just...let me help you. Please

Naruto: Hm... very well. You may help me, as for the both of you. We shall talk later

*Naruto assured them. And where Sakura chickened out, anko didn't. And slapped him behind the head. Naruto winced a little and looked at anko, with a crooked smile. Anko, for her part, had an annoyed smile on her face as she placed her hands on her hip*

Anko: Boy. If you think I'm leaving before, I see that you are patched up. You've got another thing coming

Naruto: Very well. Sakura shall patch me up in the living room, Hinata. What about you?

*Naruto asked, looking at the girl, as always he gave her a kind smile, to calm her. Hinata rubbed her arm before she spoke. As she thought about what to do, to help Naruto*

Hinata: I...I would also like to stay, and make sure you are ok. I...I can make you some orange peel tea, of that's ok?

Naruto: That's more than ok. Thank you. But make a pot for everyone to share. I couldn't possibly finish one for myself

*Naruto said with a small chuckle, as they all walked inside, they went to different directions, Hinata to the kitchen, Sakura to the main bathroom, and anko helping Naruto walk to the table*

Hinata: R... Right, I'll go get that started

Sakura: I'll go get the ointment and the clean bandages

*Naruto heard them say, as he sat down on the table, he took off his under shirt with help from anko, as she as slowly as she could. Took off the bloodied bandages*

Anko: I'll help you, take these one off your body.

Naruto: I thank the 3 of you. I'll be sure to make it up to you all for worrying you 3. I forgot that you are not of iron country, so seeing this must've been, quite the culture shock

*Naruto said with a soft chuckle. He winced a little making anko flinch, and then continued taking off the bandages, this time even slower*

Anko: I'll say. Why didn't you ever tell me?

Naruto: I did. When I was in the civil war. I told you I was punished for joining

*Naruto said. Anko thought about it for a second before remembering that specific letter that Naruto sent her. It never came into her mind that the leader of iron would punish someone so young.*

Anko: How the hell was I supposed to know? That punishment meant you being whipped

Naruto: Hm. I suppose I could've explained myself better. And for that, I apologize. Sometimes, I forget how different the country of iron is, from the rest of the nations

*Naruto said with a smile, that really freaked anko and Hinata. Since Naruto didn't see this as something bad. That idea wasn't even a thought in his brain*

Hinata: I suppose every nation has its... Negative aspects

Naruto: negative? I wouldn't call this negative. The closest word I can come up with at the moment. Without going on a rant would be.... Educational

*Naruto corrected, in a gentle voice. Not wanting Hinata to think, he was insulted by referring to something from iron country, as negative*

Hinata: Let's... Agree to disagree on this one

Naruto: Very well

*Naruto said calmly, as they stayed quiet, for about 10 minutes, until anko finished taking the bandages out. And what she saw made her want to puke. Naruto's back was bloodied, it was raw, and there was barely any skin left to speak off. She's seen this all the time in the torture department. But seeing it, in the boy she sees as her son. It makes her feel sick. *

Anko: My God. It's worse than I thought. How long did he whip... Did he discipline you?

Naruto: from morning till nightfall. A lesser being would've broken under such a discipline. But I knew my reasons for breaking the rules were righteous, and that righteousness kept me my spirit from breaking

*Naruto said, as always, when he spoke something along those lines. There was a determination behind his tone. Sakura made it back and almost dropped the bucket she had on when she saw the back of the ronin. She composed herself before walking to them*

Sakura: Sorry I took so long. I forgot where I put them, and then I decided to bring a bucket with water. And a couple of rags to clean the blood

Anko: It's not a bad idea. I'll help. Naruto. We're gonna need you to stay as still as possible. We don't want these wounds to get even worse

*Anko said as soon as she saw Naruto nod. She and Sakura grabbed the rags from the water. And started cleaning the back of Naruto. The 3 of them got a little more understanding, on how things work in iron country that night*

Meanwhile, with Itachi

*We see him in a council meeting. Everyone was screaming with each other, in disagreement. As Itachi just informed them on the situation with kushina. Itachi took a sip of his juice and waited for them to settle down. A member of the civilian council's voice spoke louder than the rest*

Isa: we can not allow this! This is high treason!!

Inoichi: We don't have much of a choice. We can't lose the head of the uzumaki clan. Without her, konoha will become weaker. Since last, I checked civilian. She's the only level 9 seal master in all of the fire nation!

*Inoichi yamanaka yelled back. This really came down to a fight, a political fight, and the civilian side of the council wasn't going down easily, as another voice could be heard. This one is the head of the agricultural department*

Yoshino: So what?! Just because of that, we should make an exception to the laws of our nation?! Orochimaru is one of the main enemies of the leaf!

Uyeda: he's right. If we're indebted to him, it'll look bad against the other nations

*Screamed another civilian council member. Shikaku, having finished his smoke, stood up and spoke up, Itachi glanced at the head of the Nara clan, seeing as they were the most intelligent clan, his word held value*

Shikaku: And if we don't, we'll lose the secret arts of the uzumaki clan. Arts that help protect this nation, more than you can possibly understand

Uyeda: Try me. And to add to the civilian council concerns. Are we really just gonna trust the word of a foreigner? He can not be trusted!

*Uyeda said, not afraid to speak her mind. Itachi heard the civilian council questioning the integrity of someone who he considered a friend, stood up, and raised his hand. Instantly, everyone stood quiet since 1. He was the hokage, and 3. He was Itachi of the Sharingan. That title was so important that it skipped reason number 2 all together*

Itachi: Now, I have to put my 2 ryo in.

*Itachi said, finally speaking up. All eyes were on him. As he spoke, no one dared speak up even a single word. Not wanting to end up in the man's bad side*

Itachi: I can assure you of one thing. If you can trust anyone, it's N. If he says that orochimaru is the only one who can heal kushina uzumaki, you can trust that he's telling the truth

Danzo: I agree with the hokage.

*Danzo said, now that caused gasps to be heard from all over the council. Since not only did Danzo agree with a hokage. Something he hasn't done since the 3rd hokage was in his prime. But he agreed with an Uchiha, a clan that he made no secret of hiding his hate for. So when he spoke, people listened*

Danzo: I've fought against N. The boy is naive, but he's trustworthy. I vote we make an exception to the laws in order to protect konoha in order for it to remain strong. It needs Kushina Uzumaki to do so.

Itachi: I also vote on making an exception. We can not lose such a valuable asset as kushina uzumaki. Also the fact that when she wakes up, she'll have a word or two to say for those who voted against this decision.

*Itachi said, with a ghost of a smirk. That little threat caused almost everyone who knew better to raise their hands. You also had the side that were nothing more than danzo's lackies who also raised their hands. Itachi looked around, making a quick count*

Itachi: The majority have it. I will personally speak with N about this decision, senju, I trust you to tell the uzumaki children about this development.

Tsunade: Yes, hokage

*Tsunade said with a paper thin smile. She wanted to help kushina. That wasn't even a question. But asking for help from orochimaru and that child from iron country, just screamed bad ideas from Tsunade's gut. Itachi nodded as he started to walk away*

Itachi: I'll speak with him tomorrow morning. See what he'll need for this trip. Dismissed
