* As the days became weeks, and the weeks turned into months, we saw a much stronger Naruto than the one who started this training. He was walking behind monk gyatso, into a dark forest*

Naruto: I sense chakra. All around us. But it isn't human anymore. Maybe once upon a time it was, but now? It...changed into something different, something dark.

*Naruto said, looking around, as they went deeper and deeper into the forest, a fog started to engulf them, but gyatso remained calm, and seeing him calm, so did Naruto*

Gyatso:Yes. This is the resting place for a dark creature. But dark doesn't mean evil. It's up to the individual how they'll use what it gives you

Naruto:I see. As you once told me, evil is subjective. What I see as the right thing to do can be totally different from what others may see it as.

*Naruto spoke, as the fog became thicker, it was beginning to be hard to see, but Naruto had no problem following Monk gyatso, he can't mistake his chakra ball with anything else, it's too one of a kind to be mistaken for anything else*

Gyatso:very true, if you take the universe and grind it down to the finest powder, and sieve it through the first sieve, and then show me one Adam of justice, one molecule of mercy. You'll find none, goodness, evilness, those are nothing more than concepts people use to make them feel safe. Tell me, what do you see as goodness?

Naruto:the way of the samurai. The path of protecting the weak, the iron country is in my opinion how the world should be, that's goodness.

*Naruto said, but of course, he only said that because that's what he grew up with, Naruto may be a ronin, but he was still limiting himself with the same views as the rest of iron country*

Gyatso:I see, while you may see it that way. Others see you all as nothing more than fools of a bygone generation. They see your way as useless. In a world that's cruel, you must be cruel back.

Naruto:Yes. I've.... I've met quite a few people in my travels who think like that. And I couldn't disagree more.

Gyatso: Then explain why you don't agree?

Naruto:Hm. When you take life without a reason, you live in fear because deep down, you know that someday your life will be taken as well. The samurai kill for a purpose. To protect the weak, the Shinobi kill only for greed.

*Naruto said, showing where he grew up in his little speech, for Naruto the Shinobi profession is nothing more than a path to greed. Even if he has Shinobi friends, he can't see it any other way than that.

Naruto:And one day? All of us will have to reap what we sow. There's no way of avoiding that. I would rather reap the fruit of protecting the weak, then the fruit of only caring about ryo

Gyatso:hm. When we harm others, we're really only harming ourselves. It's simple, when you insult the profession of those you care about like anko, you're also hurting yourself, my caterpillar

*gyatso explained in a gentle tone, Naruto pursed his lips a little, he nodded in agreement, as the world around them turned from a forest to a swamp*

Naruto:I know. " If you want good things to happen in your life, you have to be good." Such a simple passage to live your life, but unfortunately I just can't see past it, over my travels, I've learned to love the individual, I love anko when she's a civilian, but feel nothing but disgust when she's a Shinobi.

Gyatso:Yes, and I can tell you that she understands that and still loves you as if you were her own.

*Gyatso said, even if he never met her, Naruto knew gyatso was telling the truth. Hell, Naruto never even talked about the snake with gyatso, but he just knew*

Gyatso:But there was another point to your speech wasn't there?

Naruto:Yes. Let the world of Shinobi see the samurai as outdated, as fools from a bygone generation, that won't stop us from doing what we see as the righteous path of protecting the weak, until our last breath, until the last samurai is dead and buried.

*Naruto said with no doubt in his tone, not fear behind his eyes. He knew how he'll live, just how he'll know how he dies, protecting the weak. Naruto looked around. What was once a small feeling surrounded him. All he felt was the darkness gyatso spoke about. It was damn near suffocating*

Naruto:Grand Master gyatso. Is there a reason for discussing something we've already discussed? I haven't forgotten about that lesson, so why speak of it again? What's the reason behind it?

Gyatso: only if you see it as if it has a reason. I could simply be an old man talking nonsense

*Gyatso said with a small chuckle, Naruto snickered with the wise monk and saw a cave at the distance, Naruto could only see a black chakra, all around the cave*

Naruto:Heh, that may work for the rookies. But I know that everything you say is with purpose. Even if I don't know for what right away

Gyatso:If that's what you have learned, then who am I to say you're wrong? Remember my little caterpillar, this is your path, and you walk it well. No one can tell you otherwise.

*Gyatso said, sitting down on a rock near the cave, and going on a meditating position, Naruto didn't need to be told, gyatso wanted him to go inside the cave*

Naruto:I won't allow them to. Thank you, GrandMaster Gyatso. As always, you're the only one who doesn't try to make me see the light

Gyatso:Yes. Light is important for some people they follow the light in order to achieve  peace, but for others? They need the darkness, and they do not desire peace. You, my boy, do not desire peace. What you desire... Oh, it seems we've spoken enough. We're here. I didn't even notice

*Gyatso said in a surprise tone, which caused a snort to escape from Naruto's throat. Gyatso gave the boy a smile*

Naruto:Can you tell me what I'll see in there?

Gyatso:only what you bring with you, my little caterpillar, this next challenge for you is to face what you've been hiding

*Gyatso said, Naruto nodded and placed all his weapons next to the monk, then he got completely naked*

Naruto:I've got nothing to hide.

*Naruto said walking inside the cave, the second he stepped foot in it he felt it, something ancient was watching him, testing him, he turned around, but all he saw was darkness, the entrance disappeared. Naruto remained calm and walked deeper into the cave. After walking for what felt like days, he heard the sound of a waterfall. He walked to the sound and saw someone waiting for him there. What he saw made him frown*

???: Look what has become of you.... A slave to your honor. There is nothing more than a rat in the desert

Naruto:Look what I have risen above. A shadow with nothing but sadness in its heart

*Naruto said, as he sat down in front of the figure, the figure was himself, but his eyes, his pupils were red, and the sclera was pure black, Naruto was looking at a reflection of himself, and this dark personification of himself was smiling*

*he looked at the headband on the other Naruto's forehead and remembered the word of gyatso, what this dark Naruto is wearing, is what Naruto himself brought to the cave, not physically. But spiritually*

Naruto:I see, so I was born of a Shinobi family, that a disgrace. A civilian would've been preferred, but that doesn't change who I am, a ronin of iron country. But I know that symbol, my biological family is from konoha? My. They've been close for so long. Maybe I'll go find their tombs and pay respect for giving me a chance at a good life

Dark Naruto:yes, the people who ABANDONED us, who didn't LOVE us enough to keep us, they were so close, so very close. What will you do when you meet them?

*Dark Naruto said there was a harshness in his tone, a harshness that just made Naruto sigh in pity*

Naruto:I'll speak to their tombs, and then I'll get closure

Dark Naruto: YOU LIE!!!

*Dark Naruto screamed and jumped on top of the real Naruto. Dark Naruto was growling, and his nails were turning into claws that were piercing Naruto's neck. But Naruto remained calm and firm on his conviction*

Dark Naruto: they gave you this, they gave you this sadness, this darkness is here because of THEM, because of them you fell in love, and you had to see the woman you love get killed, while you could nothing. This anger, the root of it. It comes from them. They need to pay. They need to die, so this hole in your soul can be finally filled

Naruto:.... What a sad creature I've let fester inside of me....what a sad human I am, to not want to get rid of it.

*Naruto said with a sigh, looking at the eyes of his dark counter self, all he saw was sadness, anger, resentment, so many negative emotions that Naruto allowed to grow, inside of him*

Naruto: To kill them would bring me no joy, no satisfaction. We both know who we really want dead

Dark Naruto:...the one who took emiko from us

*Dark Naruto said in a cold voice, Naruto nodded in agreement. They both had a goal in mind, something that keeps them on the same page*

Naruto: We desire the same thing, power, the power to take life of those not deserving of having it. The power to dominate, to control, to possess, we really have nothing. And yet. I'm satisfied with it and the path I've walked on. I have no doubt about it, no fear of what I'll lose because of it.

*Naruto said as he slowly sat back up. Dark Naruto sat back down in front of him, his claws covered in the blood of his neck*

Dark Naruto:Why have you come to this place? You have a purpose here, don't you? Perhaps you are...protecting something no..... Protecting someone.

Naruto: Yes. I want power, but not to kill my biological family. I want it to protect the weak, to protect someone who is dear to our heart.

*Naruto said, looking at the jacket the dark Naruto had on, unlike him, who was naked. Dark Naruto stopped smiling and got a serious expression*

Dark Naruto:Hinata.

Naruto:Yes. The reason why you're wearing that jacket. But I'll only be able to protect her if I have power. The power of this cave is radiating. I know the consequences of it. And I'm ready to face them, and whatever trial you may have from me, or you can help a fellow child of iron country like you used to be. So tell me, have I passed your test?

*Naruto asked, looking past dark Naruto, to the being who brought it to existence, Naruto heard what sounded like someone breathing through a mask. As the waterfall disappeared, and dark Naruto was absorbed back into himself. Naruto saw the ancient being come into existence, Naruto could only describe it as a demon, who used to be human, not just a human, but a samurai. His ancient armor surely once it was full of color, now was pure black, melted into the creature's body, forever linked to him. Naruto knew who this samurai was, even if he's only read of him in legends, the sword this demon was wielding, the smell of innocent blood coming off it, told Naruto who this demon was*

Naruto:the samurai who could walk in the sky. The Skywalker.
