Last time

*Naruto said with a ever growing grin, seeing Sakura's ever growing shocked expression. She gave a slow look at Naruto and that big charming smile"

Sakura:what. The. Fuck.

Now

*After a long, loooong conversation telling the two girls everything that happened. We see Kenshin pouring Naruto, Hinata and himself a cup of Orange peel tea, while Sakura remains frozen in shock, with her mouth opened*

Naruto:thank you for the tea my friend

Kenshin:my pleasure, but you should really expand your tea pallet.

*Kenshin said taking a sip of his tea, Hinata took a sip as well, and regretted it, as she burned her tongue*

Naruto:I do, I drink different types of tea, when I'm wandering, but when I settled in to a place, I like consistency. And what better consistency then orange peel tea?

Kenshin:funny you say consistency, and not favorite

*Naruto stopped his cup from reaching his lips for a moment, then he went back to drinking, with his eyes closed. He understood the words left unsaid quite well*

Naruto:.....yes, I suppose my word play is  quite funny

*Naruto said with conviction on his tone, Hinata was a bit confused looking at the two friends, they were acting like the elders of her old clan, and she didn't know why*

Flashback

*We see Naruto and Kenshin in the new room, both of them being humble people, they chose one of the smaller ones. Kenshin was helping Naruto set up the room, when he accidentally dropped a box, opening it*

Kenshin:sorry Naruto, that was heavier then I thought

Naruto:no harm done

*Naruto said, both started to clean up what fell, when Kenshin stopped, Naruto looked at him, and then at what he was looking at, frowning. In that box, was the kunai that belonged to the Shinobi scum that killed Emiko. Naruto picked it up, and placed it in the nightstand*

Kenshin:I thought we agreed on throwing that away

Naruto:you and the gang agreed. I ignored it, this belongs to me. This is my obsession. Not yours, nor anyone else.

*Naruto said coldly, looking down at the weapon, that still had the dried blood of Emiko*

Kenshin:naruto, the man who seeks revenge digs two graves. If you continue on this path...

Naruto:don't patronize me Kenshin.

*Naruto said shooting his close friend a glare, his piercing blue eyes, gaining an almost toxic color.*

Naruto:I know full well, where this path is taking me. And I do not care, I will get justice for emiko's death

Kenshin:vengeance and justice are not the same thing Naruto

*Kenshin said, sitting down on the bed. Naruto let a low growl escape his lips, that Kenshin wasn't taking him seriously*

Naruto:this coming from the battousai the manslayer? I don't need a lecture from someone who's hands are just as bloody as mines. All of you wanted the same thing as I did once, to see the death of the Shinobi who took emiko away from ME. Away from you, away from all of us...!

Kenshin:yes we did. I'm not gonna deny that. But we all moved on. And understood a lesson, that you refuse to learn. The pain of losing somebody or something is your pain. It's not the pain of that person. It's your pain or losing that person being with you, and you have to overcome that or else you will be suffering your whole life

*Kenshin said, unlike Naruto who was letting his emotions start to take control, Kenshin remained calm*

Kenshin:you know the text of the scrolls of the samurai of old, as well as i do. What are they?

Naruto:.....

*Naruto didn't speak, his cold anger bubbling up inside of him. Kenshin gave Naruto a small glare, but unlike Naruto's who was full of hate, kenshin's glare was a stern one*

Kenshin:ronin Naruto, as your superior I command you to recite it.

Naruto:fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering

*Naruto said it with gritted teeth, his body standing up straight, as his upbringing, stops him from disobeying against someone of a higher rank*

Kenshin:the fear you felt that day, you let it grow into anger, and you didn't just let it grow, you fed it. You made sure it couldn't go away, you keep yourself in that day, so you can't move on. You made that anger into hatred, hatred for a woman doing her duty, no different then when we follow our duty to the emperor

Naruto:don't you dare, don't you fucking dare, try to compare a samurai's orders to a shibobi scum greed for money

*Naruto said venomously. Kenshin sighed, as he saw it. He saw  The doubled sided blade that is Naruto's fire of will, a will that can never be flamed out. Kenshin saw The other side of that blade*

Kenshin:there it is, your greatest flaw. Not being able to let something go. And Naruto my friend can't let emiko's death go. That's your flaw, your selfish inability to let go.

Naruto:selfish? I'm trying to bring emiko's soul peace! I'm trying to bring it justice!

*Naruto yelled, borderline getting on kenshin's face, Kenshin just sighed, shaking his head a little as he stood up*

Kenshin:you still don't understand my friend. You don't understand that things come and go through life, and that you cannot hold on to things. The school taught us to love people, but not get attached to them, since we're a samurai first. You? You let your emotions take control first, and your strongest emotion is love. But love can easily turn into an obsession. That obsession, turns into greed, your greed? that you want to become stronger, not for the good of iron country, but because you want to control things, to keep the things around that you wants. But you've wanted control long before emiko died

Naruto:Kenshin I'm warning you, don't you dare go there

*Naruto said, his patience holding on by a thread, as he grabbed the hilt of his sword, but Kenshin made no move towards his own*

Kenshin: you've wanted control since you were left in the orphanage, because you are scared, that you weren't good enough for your parents to keep you around, and love you

*That did it for Naruto, as he jumped to attack his friend, he took his sword out, and used all his strength and more importantly his anger in to one slash. A slash that was stopped by one hand. *

*The room around them cracked, as the windows shattered, all 4 walls and roof were cracked, the floor under them broke making them both fall into the dirt under the house, and all of Naruto's belongings flew in different directions, it looked like a bomb exploded inside the room, but Kenshin was the only thing not affected by it. He didn't even look like he was putting any effort in holding the sword. Naruto eye's widen as he put his all in that attack, and his arms were trembling trying to break his sword free, from kenshin's hand. But it didn't budge, showing the vast difference in power. Naruto wasn't even on kenshin's radar*

Kenshin:I agree with the emperor my friend.

*Kenshin began with a sigh, and looked down at Naruto with nothing but disappointment. Kenshin moved his arm so fast, that it left an afterimage and punched Naruto in the gut, making him spit out saliva, and send him flying crashing through 3 walls.*

Kenshin: you do have potential to become strong. Stronger then me, stronger there Jin, with that will of fire that can't be flamed out, but....

*Kenshin started walking towards his friend. He touched the wall, and without having to do a hand sign, Kenshin did wood style Jutsu, fixing them And the room behind him, as he walked pass them*

Kenshin:your wasting your potential, in this pursuit of revenge

*Kenshin made it with Naruto, he was on the ground, wood pieces of the previous wall around him, as he coughed heavily, trying to get his air back, as a big purple bruise starts to appear on his stomach. Naruto looked up, and saw the kind smile of his friend, kenshin was giving him his hand*

Naruto:......

*Naruto got up by himself, without kenshin's help, and dusted himself off. He turned around and started walking away*

Naruto: I'm going for a walk to clear my head.

Kenshin:as you wish, I shall continue setting your room up, and finding the objects that flew away

Back to the present

Kenshin:very. But it's best to let sleeping dogs lie, and leave the demon to his demons. Rest your soul, there is nothing else

*Kenshin said, trying to give Naruto the chance to at least think, of a different road to follow. But Naruto didn't, he simply couldn't let go. So he looked at Sakura with a small smirk, and snapped his fingers in front of her*

Naruto:Sakura, you good?

Sakura:....your friend defeated one of the sannin singlehandedly, and not just any sannin, but the strongest of the sannin. So no, I'm not good.

*Sakura said giving Naruto an unamused expression. Naruto chuckled rubbing the back of his head*

Naruto:fair enough, but you have to admit. This is a beautiful home you and Hinata now have

Hinata:w...wait, wait, wait, your giving this place do us?!

*Hinata said, now just as gobsmacked as Sakura. Naruto just shrugged and nodded, with a kind smile*

Naruto:yup, this house is under both your names, all I ask is that you let me stay here for free, whenever I'm around

Sakura:you...your just gonna give us a whole house, borderline mansion, for free, without any strings attach. Why?

*Sakura said confused, but she wasn't the only one. Kenshin and Naruto were confused too, by the question. Since for them it was just common sense*

Naruto:that's just the kindness of iron country. There's no deeper meaning then that

Kenshin:N speaks the truth, they teach and raise us, to always remain humble. And to never take, more than what you need.

*Kenshin said, Kenshin and Naruto have seen first hand, the benefits of being humble, giving they lived in the orphanage, they were blessed with the kindness of so many strangers, even the emperor himself*

Naruto:now, we can keep talking or you both can go set your rooms up. Since me and Kenshin are going back to the library

Hinata:w..we can talk more later, go go. And thank you so much, both of you for this

*Hinata said giving them a small bow, both Naruto and Kenshin smiled as they bowed back to her and walked away*

Later

Night time

*We see the girls sleeping in there new full size beds. Kenshin was in one of the guest room, meditating. And Naruto? He was walking to his room, he stopped and looked in front of him, there was kenshin's room, all the candles he has made the borderline of his room, glow with the light, then There's Naruto's room, that was filled with the darkness of the night. Naruto could go to his room and sleep, preparing himself for tomorrow, or he could go to kenshin's room, and meditate with him. It was a step to the light, or a step to the dark. Naruto made his choice, as he took a breath and*

*The scene fades to black*
