A cave that never ends. The upper levels are the hottest, while the bottom levels are the coldest. And yet, past the lowest bedrock, is a black void that looms. If the highest layer is broken, it leads to the Thunderworld. Fires are common on the hotter sections, some even burning for eternity. Many creatures and plants have adapted to live in these conditions, often becoming blind as a result.

Mollusks that had evolved to eat minerals and vegetables, and took on quadruped, horned, mammal-like forms with a pair of slender arms on their backs. Their eyesight was poor and so they developed long whiskers and floppy ears. They are known as Elden Demons in this frame of time.
They are highly resistant to the extreme temperatures of the Netherworld. Some may say their enduring of their realm is supernatural, and this is a clear fact. The Demons learned how to channel their own emotions into a magic-like state, thus leading to a revolution of inventions. Their main style has always been industrial with a dash of pleasure, however. They would rather bask in front of lava pools than fight each other to the death. Interestingly, their bodies adapted to survive for millions of years as a result of this.
Then, once they were attacked by their neighbors, the Angels, the Demons were forced to go to war. Some fought back, some fled using the pentagram system by drawing sigils on the ground in blood. Ultimately, 500,000,000 years of war raged before it ended, and the Demons were forced to evolve. They became upright, their arms became wings, and they looked much more simplified than their past iterations. They would now be known as Brimstone Demons.
Of course, those that fled had evolved as well, becoming subspecies that would eventually return home. While there are many, here are some of interest:
Typh Demons, descendents of Darkling and Demon hybrids. Most have grown strong tails in place of legs, and their back arms became several tendrils. Capable of hiding and manipulating shadows, and consuming emotions.
Shadow Demons, descendents of Volfar and Demon hybrids. Unlike their Typh cousins, they are perpetually semi-liquid, and extremely sensitive to light. They are capable of living without sustenance the longest.
Lost Demons, descendents of Glib and Demon hybrids. They're short, fluffy, and always on fire with magical flames that never spread from their bodies. While weak, they are the most common of the subspecies.
Snow Demons, evolved forms of Demons that survived on the frigid surfaces of ice worlds in the Sporeal Reality. Completely covered in thick fur. Capable of manipulating snow and ice.
Steel Demons, who evolved similarly to Snow Demons, now wear suits of mechanized metal to protect their soft and weak bodies. Lost their flame powers in preference of survival. May transition into fully-mechanized bodies.
Crevice Demons, evolved forms of Demons that hide in the deepest and most forgotten caverns of the Netherworld. Thin, completely blind, almost serpentine.
Rush Demons, evolved forms of Demons that live on worlds of water, and pools in the Netherworld. Often resembling sea slugs, snails, and shrimps. Most can freely live a dual submerged-terrestrial life.
Haunting Demons, descendents of Radio and Demon hybrids. Somehow, they did it. Cannot be perceived by most living organisms, unless a special spectrum of light is used. Very small, covered in eyes, but just resemble miniature, wingless Brimstone Demons. Can control other creatures, and are expelled through a variety of different means.
Accusers, descendents of Human and Demon hybrids. Often misunderstood, resemble Humans with Demon traits, such as hooved feet, horns, and a pointed arrow at the ends of their tails. Some even have wings. Sensitive to light.
