Description: This is somewhat of an AU where, Rick & Glenn live during season 9 & 10. We all probably guess Rick is somewhere else alive. In this Glenn only lost his left eye & scarring on his head. Now as for the one-shot, Glenn & Rick find out about Daryl's crush on Connie. So they decide, especially Glenn since Daryl teased a couple of years ago in the prison about him & Maggie, to tease Daryl on his crush. Especially, when they see Daryl doing something they didn't expect from him.

     Keeping things calm in Alexandria was somewhat easy, even with the Whisperers. Sometimes Rick missed fighting The Saviors, because at least they had some humanity left, unlike the Whisperers. Rick was absolutely sick of these guys, & he was especially mad & sad when he discovered some new people, & some of his closest friends dead.
     Rick wasn't there when his friends & one of the new comers, but he could only imagine the horror & pain that they saw the border.
     For the time being, half of the Hilltop community, half of Alexandria, & most of Oceanside we're on the beach training & fishing for food. They knew one day that the Whisperers would come after them someday, so nothing like being prepared.

     "Hey Rick!" a familiar voice shouted, in the distance of the beach that broke Rick out of his trance.
     Rick recognized that voice immediately. He turned & shouted back, with a wave; "Hey Glenn!"

     Rick wasn't used to seeing Glenn with still just one eye & scars on his forehead, even though it's been years since what happened.

     "How've you been? I haven't seen you for a long time now. How's Maggie & little Hershel been?" Rick said, as he hugged Glenn.
     "Well Maggie & Hershel are fine, they've kept me busy. I'm just glad to see & everyone again. Also, speaking of kids, how have Judith & R.J. been?" Glenn asked, breaking the hug.
     "They're ok. Especially everything that's happened." Rick said, with a sort of sadness at the end.
     "Yeah. I agree, so much-..." Glenn shortly started, but stopped, while looking behind Rick.
     "Uh, Glenn..?" Rick said with a bit of confusion & worry seeing Glenn had stopped talking.

     Glenn wouldn't speak, but Rick saw a smirk growing on his face. But, it wasn't a usual smirk he'd seen on Glenn, it almost looked like a teasing one. The only time he uses it was when-

     "Rick, he's doing it again~" Glenn said, with a teasing voice that matched his teasing smirk.

     Rick was about to ask, what he meant, but then he stopped himself realizing who he was talking about. Rick slowly turned around with a grin to see his brother, Daryl staring at Connie.
     It was no secret that Daryl had a somewhat connection with Connie. It wasn't only hard, to see that Daryl had a crush on the deaf girl. RIck & Glenn, mostly Glenn would sometimes tease Daryl whenever he would stare at Connie for a long period of time.
     Glenn looked at Rick with a knowing look & Rick gave the same, they then walked over to where Dary was at, who did not notice them, until it was too late.

     "Hey, loverboy~" Glenn said with a familiar teasing voice that broke Daryl out of his staring at Connie.

     Daryl sighed heavily & turned to Glenn & Rick with a glare, with the tiniest hint of blush on his cheeks. He knew that Glenn came to him, because Glenn caught him staring at Connie, again. He knew Glenn would take any opportunity to tease him on his feelings for Connie.
     "If you are just going to tease me more, than get it over with." Daryl said, but with an unusually tired voice.

     Rick & Glenn noticed it & curious, yet concerned. Daryl usually never sounded like that. Sure, he sometimes has a graveling voice, but this time, it sounded different. They looked at Daryl with questionable express, as Daryl knew that they noticed something wrong with how he sounded.

     Daryl didn't say anything at first, which got Rick & Glenn a bit more concerned. They were trying to get something out of Daryl, until Glenn said something that made Daryl tense.

     "Did..something happened between you & Connie, after you went to help her look for her sister, Kelly?" Glenn said with a voice of sureness,

     Rick looked at his brother, to see him rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly & looked at anywhere, but them. Rick & Glenn both stared at Daryl for a couple more minutes, until he finally told them.
     "Ok, um..back at Hilltop, when I was heading back to Alexandria. Before I went, Connie said, in sign language, that me & her were um...family. So I, um..just left without a bye & just drive off, just saying nothing." Daryl said, with a bit of shyness.
     Glenn unexpectedly bobbed the back of Daryl's head & Daryl yelped, with Rick looking at Glenn with surprise.
     "You idiot! That's her way of telling you that she likes you!! How could you just leave her, without a reply?" Glenn said, with a bit of a loud voice.
     Daryl quickly put his hand over Glenn's mouth, to make sure no one heard him. He sighed a quick of relief, thankful that no one heard Glenn. Daryl then quickly explained to Glenn that he felt that Connie was only saying that they were friends/family, & that she didn't think of him in any other way.

     Rick & Glenn glanced at each other, then looked at Daryl with a bit of sadness in their eyes. They could clearly see that Daryl thinks that, Connie only acknowledging him as a friend/family & nothing more.
     "Brother..*sighs*..maybe you should just talk to her & possible..tell her how you feel." Rick said, trying to reassure his brother.
     Daryl knew that his brother was trying to help him, but he couldn't really believe him. He knew that it would be impossible for Connie to ever consider him more than a friend.
     "Thanks for saying that, but...it just ain't gonna happen." Daryl said, with a bit of sadness in his voice.
     Daryl then walked off with his dog, by his side. He ignored the concern looks on his friends faces. The last thing he needed was concern & pity.

     Later in the day, most of the people on the beach stayed at Hilltop, because it was the closest place near the beach. Daryl was one of those people in Hilltop & volunteered to keep watch on the new small watchtower that was built to keep an eye on things.

     Daryl was quietly watching the night, with a small lantern, when he heard the latch to the watchtower open. He turned to see someone he'd been looking at today, Connie. When she got inside, she smiled at him & gestured her hands to sign something to him.

     'Can I sit here?' Connie signed.

     Daryl looked at her for a second & nodded his head. Seeing this, Connie happily sat next to him. She & Daryl were watching & enjoying the silence around them, until Connie broke the silence by tapping Daryl shoulder. He turned to her, & saw that she had her notebook out which said; 'Did I do something to upset you? You've barely talked to me.'
    Daryl was a bit taken back by her statement & quickly signed, while taking back to her.

     Connie looked at him, waiting for him to finish what he was saying. Seeing that she wasn't going to drop it Daryl finally said what he wanted to say.
     "The truth is..that after I left Hilltop a couple of days ago, I've been thinking about what you told me. How you, thought that me & you as family...I thought that me & you were something...closer.." Daryl signed & talked, finishing with a look away from Connie.

     Daryl didn't hear anything of movement, though he did hear the sound of Connie writing in her notebook & he was starting to worry about Connie's reaction. Then unexpectedly, he tensed a bit when he felt her wrap around him tightly. He then felt her hand moved upward, he looked to see her notebook in her hand & giving it to him. He hesitantly took it & opened it see it say;

'I said that, we were family, because I value you as an important person in my life & someone I could depend on in a tough situation.

     Daryl then turned the page and continued reading on what she was writing.

I probably should have made it more clearer, but I don't just consider your family. I also considered you as someone I'd..want to spend my life with, because ..I love you.'

     Daryl stared at the last page for a couple of minutes, shocked at what she was saying to him. Connie..actually liked him, no...she loves him!!
     Seeing him not responding, Connie unwrapped her arms around him, to all be brought back by a kiss, from Daryl. To say she was shocked was an understatement, but nevertheless she gladly kissed him. Both broke off the kiss, needing air, before Daryl grabbed Connie's face & looked into her eyes, before kissing her again. Connie signed with content, as Daryl leaned forward that made her back hit the floor with him on top.

     In the morning, Rick got out of the house that he & a few people from Alexandria were sleeping, to see if he could help around before he went back home. As he was walking outside, he noticed Connie's sister, Kelly, & her friends were looking a bit panicked. Being the helper that he is, he immediately went to them & asked what was wrong to which Kelly responded;
     "My sister wasn't in the house this morning & I haven't seen her since last night. Do you know where she is?" Kelly said, in a panicked voice.

     Rick was about to answer, when he saw Glenn waving over to him with a smirk on his face. Rick looked at Glenn questionable, before he did anything Magna's group followed Glenn to where he was going. Rick quickly catched up, before he could say anything, Glenn put a finger to his mouth & pointed to the watchtower with his smirk widening.
     Rick looked at the watchtower, he then saw Glenn pick up a rock & throw it at the watchtower. Before Rick could ask why he did that, he saw something that he didn't ever think he'd see.

     Rick saw Daryl emerge from from the watchtower's door & saw that Daryl was only in his pants, but it was unbuckled. Daryl also didn't have a shirt on & Connie coming out in nothing, but Daryl's black long-sleeved shirt. Daryl looked down to see them & quickly stumbled to fix his pants, while Glenn was laughing, Rick slightly chuckling, & Magna's group looking shocked with their jaws open.
     Connie looked at Daryl questionably, but she then looked down to see her friends & sister looking at them. She then looked at herself up & down before heading back into the watchtower, very embarrassed.    
     After a couple of more minutes, Daryl & Connie headed down & walked towards Rick, Glenn, & Magna's group. When they got to them, no one said a thing, until Glenn broke by saying;
     "So...you had a fun time with Connie, Daryl?~" Glenn said with a teasing voice.
     Daryl glared at Glenn harshly, with a very noticeable red on his cheeks. But, still Glenn continued to smirk & laugh now & then.

     Daryl knew that he would get teased with this forever.

Bonus:

     After answering all of her friends & sisters embarrassing questions on what happened, Connie decided to walk around to clear her head. As she was turning a corner, she came across Daryl & his dog. She then step closer to him, with a faint blush on her cheeks & signed to him;

     'Hey...you dont regret, you know...right..?' Connie signed with a shy look on her face & pink cheeks.

     Daryl looked at with the same expression & smiled lightly at her, & quickly answered her.
     "No. I don't regret , the only regret was where it was at." Daryl said & signed, with a small smile plastered on his face.
     Connie smiled at him & grabbed his hand in a stronghold. Daryl saw this & did the same thing, then he pulled her into a kiss.

     Daryl knew that Glenn & his family will definitely tease & make fun of him for this, but it was definitely worth it for Connie.
