Chapter 12 - Utilitarianism!

Lucas's mother stepped out into the cold, dark night.

Wait.

Pause.

We don't have any females except Jenny residing in the kingdom.

Correction:

Lucas's femboy dad stepped out into the cold, dark night. He temporarily looked up at the starry sky as he reflected back on life.

A few years ago, his family had lost their younger son, Cadence.

Now, their older son, Lucas, was also gone. Except, unlike with Cadence, Lucas's father had no idea where Lucas's body was.

He still held onto the hope that Lucas was just lost somewhere, but that seemed extremely unlikely.

Lucas's dad sighed.

Virgil was a shitty leader. Lucas's dad wished there was something he could do, but there was nothing. Virgil's army was the most brainwashed of all, and they would defend him with their lives. Now, there was no denying Virgil had saved them. He really had. Most, if not all of the human population would be gone if Virgil hadn't established his empire.

However, things had changed. Virgil had changed for the worse, and Lucas's dad had managed to lose both his children to Virgil.

But there was one thing Lucas's dad could do. He had overheard his neighbors whispering about something...

A revolution.

Lucas's dad had heard his neighbors discussing a revolution.

He knew what had sparked it. Mox. He had come in, killed tens of people, and left without a trace. And Virgil's government hadn't even said anything about it. And now, the people had had enough. They were going to start a protest, which could lead to a revolution if Virgil didn't supply their wants.

Lucas's dad gritted his teeth.

Virgil had taken his children. It was time to get revenge.

"Dad."

Lucas's father spun around.

"That was...Lucas's voice!" he realized.

"Son, are you here!?"

Lucas stepped out of the shadows. His shorts had holes and his shirt was completely ripped, but other than that, he looked fine.

Oh, and he was also barefoot because...y'know, plot, obviously.

"Dad," Lucas stretched out his hand, revealing a bottled beverage. "Drink this."

"Son!" Lucas's dad exclaimed. "Why do you smell like..."

Lucas's dad's eyes widened.

"Weed?"

Lucas grinned.

"I'm sure you thought weed had gone extinct, but my friend Eric Jarvis here has created a new mixture that uses weed. He calls it Maho."

"E-Eric Jarvis? You mean the guy that caused World War 4.20?!"

"Kind of. All Jarvis did was discover weed. He never caused World War 4.20. World War 4.20 was the result of everyone fighting over the weed. However,"

Lucas spread his arms.

"Now, there is no more need to ever worry about that again. There is enough Maho to last us years, and it is constantly being produced. Here, my father, try it."

Lucas stretched out his hand, offering his dad the drink.

Lucas's dad shook his head.

"Lucas, are you sure? If Jarvis created this, it could have side effects. You can't just trust everything a stranger gives you!"

Lucas smiled warmly.

"Dad, don't worry. I have tried Maho, and within a mere week, it has completely overturned my life. All of the negative emotions, thoughts, and memories are gone. I have transcended beyond pain and negativity. And that is why I want you, mom, and Cadence to try this as well. We will all transcend."

Lucas's dad froze.

"C-Cadence? You mean your brother??"

"Obviously. Who else?"

"L-Lucas. Your brother... is dead."

Lucas blinked rapidly a few times, trying to understand his father.

At that moment, Jarvis walked out of the shadows.

"J-Jarvis!" Lucas's dad squealed.

"Mr. Jarvis," Lucas turned to him. "Is it true that my brother is dead?"

Jarvis nodded.

"It is. But Lucas, that is a negative memory, correct?"

"Y-yes..."

"It brings you pain when you remember it, right?"

"Yes..."

"And that is why," Jarvis put his hand on Lucas's shoulder, "You have forgotten that he died. Maho has eliminated a memory that caused you pain from your mind."

Lucas didn't reply instantly. Instead, he stood there processing the information.

"Mr. Jarvis," Lucas looked up. "You are completely correct. His death is a negative memory."

Lucas smiled.

"Thank you for letting me forget it."

A small evil grin appeared on Jarvis's face.

"Don't thank me, Lucas. Thank Maho. About Maho, it seems that your father doesn't believe in the wonders of it."

Jarvis turned to Lucas's dad, who was staring at them in shock, his face pale, pupils dilated, and mouth hanging open.

"Lucas, you want to free your father from his pain, correct?"

Lucas nodded.

"I do."

"In that case, if he is too foolish to take the drink by himself, would you be willing to force Maho into him?"

Lucas nodded again.

"Yes, I would. I'm sorry, dad, but if you won't take this the easy way, I will be forced to separate you from your pain the hard way. Mr. Jarvis, grab him. I will pour the liquid into his throat."

Lucas's dad took a step back, terrified.

"Lucas...no...please..."

Within thirty seconds, Lucas's dad was sitting on the ground, sputtering as the Maho drink quickly entered his bloodstream and spread through his body.

"Splendid," Jarvis smiled. "Maho will go into effect within a minute or two."

"That is perfect," Lucas responded. "In that case, let us continue. My mother is inside. And once we have both of them, we can move on to our neighbors, and then to our friends, and soon enough, the whole kingdom will be freed from pain through Maho."

Jarvis's eyes sparkled.

"Indeed, Lucas. Soon, Maho will be inside everyone."

.

Leon leaned toward the microphone.

"In exchange for Jenny, would you be willing to give me your younger brother, Oliver?"

There was a short pause.

"Let me think about that offer," Virgil responded. "I'll call you back soon."

He hung up. The moment he did, Neon jumped up from her seat.

"Leon! Are you insane?! They'll kill her, you idiot!!"

Leon stood up as well.

"I realize that, Neon. But before you chew me out for being a horrible person, how about you turn on your brain for a couple of seconds. If we exchange her for Oliver, I will be able to kill him. Once I do, the Virgilian Kingdom will be in our control. Using the laptop, I will be able to control Virgil's mind and body. We will, by sacrificing one person, be saving the whole human race. Additionally, we will be avoiding a war and killing your step brother James Virgil."

"But Jenny is our friend. She trusted us when she joined the Dark Knights. By doing this, we are not only sending her off to her death, but also betraying her in the worst way. Imagine how she will die - thinking that everyone hates her and that everyone is evil. If we do this, do we, as a human race, deserve to survive?"

Neon took a deep breath as she made eye contact with Leon and Mox.

"These five years that we haven't seen you Leon, they have been tough. Me and Mox have very contrasting opinions, and when we clashed, it was often hard to decide on the right course of action."

"Deciding the right course of action wasn't the only thing that was hard when we clashed," Mox commented.

"Shut up, Mox," Neon shot him an annoyed look. "However, I never backed down from my beliefs. I always thought we could save our people without a war. Without killing. Without sacrifices. And, after all this time, I still believe that is possible. I believe that we can negotiate peace. Leon, Virgil saved so many people. There IS good inside him. He is willing to kill Jenny to save everyone, after all."

It was Mox's time to stand up.

"Neon," Mox grunted, "He's saving everyone in order to enslave them. The power, the dominance...it brings him joy. Enjoyment. Happiness. Pleasure. Without the human race, he would have none of that. You of all people should know about the pleasure of dominance."

"Stop kink-shaming me!"

"Bruh, can we stay serious for the one damn important conversation in the whole story?"

"Sorry," Mox apologized. "But Neon, there are two ways that we can win this. The first is a full on war. We attack, and we hopefully win, although the chances seem slim. The second is this. We make the trade, Leon kills Oliver, and unlocks the ability to kill - or manipulate Virgil in any way he wants. Which option is better? On a side note, now that I know Virgil is your step brother, I appreciate our earlier roleplay significantly less."

Neon squeezed her eyes shut.

"No. There is another way. There is always another way. Leon, let me talk to Virgil. Please."

"Very well," Leon sighed, sitting back down. He quickly glanced up at the clock. It was already 9 in the morning, and he hadn't slept a single second since last night. "When Virgil calls back, I will let you speak to him. However, if it doesn't work, we proceed with the Jenny plan, deal?"

Neon swallowed uncomfortably.

"Deal. If I can't break through to him, we go with the Jenny plan."

The phone rang.

Leon grinned.

"It's all yours, Neon."

Neon nodded and picked up the phone. "James."

"Neon. Is that what you call yourself now? Nice to talk to you after so long, sis."

Neon shook her head.

"I'm not your sister, James."

Neon looked down. It had been over five years since Neon had talked to her step brother. Both of them had changed over the years, and she wondered if she would be able to break through to him. To make him understand that there were things more important than power. To understand that his people shouldn't be forced to merely survive, they should be able to live.

"James, I want to talk to you about your leadership. I don't want a war. I don't want more deaths. I want you to change. I don't want the Dark Knights to take over, I want you to overcome yourself."

"Neon," Virgil sighed over the phone. "I'm afraid we were just informed of a small problem."

"What is it?" Neon inquired, curious.

"For the first time since its establishment, I am afraid that the Virgil Empire is experiencing a revolution. There's about a hundred people at the palace gates, and they're all demanding the same thing."

"What are they demanding?" Neon looked over at Leon and Mox, who were as confused as her.

"Not what. Who. Mox. He led an unannounced attack into the kingdom which resulted in the death of over fifty people. There was no benefit to the attack, only harm. Many families had people in the army, and those were killed. Mox has single handedly pissed off half the kingdom."

Virgil sighed.

"Neon, I am willing to change. I really am. And I will change, but I cannot afford to risk losing it all."

Virgil looked over to Curtis, who nodded in response.

"Neon, the way I see it, we're down to two options. The first: a war. As I'm sure you've realized, this will indeed be extremely destructive to both sides. The second: peace."

"Yes!" Neon exclaimed. "Peace! James, we choose the second option!"

"I'm not done yet. My sister, if you believe that my people will just forgive me and Mox, you are greatly mistaken. Additionally, in case you've forgotten, Jenny was the last female in the kingdom. Neon, peace takes sacrifices too. I am willing to change, but I will need you to give me both Jenny and Mox. Otherwise, there can never be peace."

No one spoke for a few seconds.

Neon made eye contact with Mox, who was suddenly burning with rage.

He jumped up and grabbed the phone.

"Hey, Virgil! Listen up, I ain't going anywhere!" Mox spat into the phone. "Or, if I'm going somewhere, then I promise you, there's an army following me, and surrender is the opposite of what they will be planning!"

"That's a shame," Virgil sighed. "In that case, I'll give you twenty four hours to decide. After that, we will call again, and you will give me an answer. If you choose the trade, there will be peace. But if you choose to not take the deal, then expect an attack by the whole Virgil army, as well as its citizens. It's your choice, Dark Knights."

Virgil ended the call.

"Well, shit," Neon exclaimed.

"Fuck." Leon cursed.

"I fuck shit sometimes too," Mox confirmed.

"Damn it," Ethan, who had been hiding behind the door this whole time and had overheard the whole conversation, cursed. "What do I do now?"

.

Meanwhile, Virgil was having a tiny crisis.

"Virgil, are you willing to give up your brother for peace?"

Virgil nodded.

"Yes, Curtis, I am. If it means peace, we have to do this. It signifies change. It signifies a sacrifice. We need Jenny, and we need peace."

"And what about the protestors?" Derek asked. "The crowd outside the palace is growing. The guards are holding them back, but the moment someone throws the first punch, we will collapse. Shall I summon the army?"

"No," Virgil replied, looking over to Curtis. "Curtis, you said you wanted change. Well, this is change. We are saving the human race. I need you to announce the news: I am going to give a speech. I am going to face my people."

"With all due respect, sir," Curtis replied, "Your change of heart is wonderful but irrational. How will you explain it to the people?"

"I'll tell them the truth, Curtis."

"Which is?"

"You'll find out when I give the speech. Now, hurry up, before the protest really does turn into a revolution."

"Yes, my king."

"Also," Virgil coughed. "Restrain Oliver."

.

While the leaders of the kingdom were running around getting ready for the speech, a certain controversial character was eyeing the protest with a curious attitude.

"They're interesting, aren't they?" Dane Porter asked, laughing.

"Who are?" Kodak, one of Dane's gang mates, inquired.

"People." Dane replied. "They've sat still for five years, and now that an outside force, aka Mox, has ruined their lives, they're suddenly accusing Virgil for everything."

"But Dane, you said you were the first to realize that Virgil is a horrible king?" Proto asked.

"Of course, he really is a terrible leader," Dane took out his gun and twirled it around in his hand. The shiny black weapon reflected the light of the rising sun into Dane's eyes.

"However, in this case, I don't believe that Virgil is the one to blame. Mox is. And yet the people are taking it out on Virgil. I find that oddly fascinating. The bomb has been inside them for a long time, and this single spark has ignited it. Unless Virgil pulls off something legendary, we may just see the collapse of the Virgilian Empire."

At that moment, the doors of the balcony on the second floor of the mansion flew open, and King Virgil walked out.

The crowd of about 200 people quieted down. They lowered their signs and quieted their cries. They may have been protesting five seconds ago, but the king's presence instantly overpowered their emotions.

After a few seconds of silence, the king cleared his throat and took the microphone out of Curtis's hands.

"Hello, my people."

There wasn't booing, but there wasn't the usual response of cheering and clapping either.

Virgil swallowed hard.

"I know there is a lot you expect me to say, but let me first tell you a story my father told me when I was young. It goes like this."

Virgil took a deep breath.

"There was once a small boy, and the boy had a boner. Now, the boy never knew why he had a boner, until one day he realized that he liked seeing people tied up. He had a BDSM fetish, he learned. Now, one day the boy met a girl, and they fell in love, and they had sex.

And the boy really wanted to BDSM, so they agreed that he would tie her up and then set her on fire."

He paused to make sure everyone understood.

No one understood, so Virgil continued.

"They went through all the steps, got her tied up, and then set the ropes on fire. Unfortunately, as soon as the flames touched the girl's skin, she realized that she was very much not aroused. And so, she started screaming their safe word, 'pineapples,' but the boy did not untie her. Why? Because he enjoyed the power too much. And, unfortunately for him, he was hit with karma. The girl got out of her ropes, set his penis on fire, and made him develop erectile dysfunction."

"My king, I highly doubt your people got the message," Curtis admitted.

"You think so?" Virgil whispered back. "Oh, ok. WELL THEN, EVERYONE. What I am trying to say here is that although I saved you, I got too carried away with the power and turned my empire into a dictatorship. I am genuinely sorry for what I have done."

"And why did you suddenly become the good guy again!?" someone in the crowd yelled.

"That is an excellent question," Virgil responded. "The first reason is that it was needed for the plot. Since a sequel has been announced, it becomes necessary to avoid killing off all the main characters. However, there is a second, more personal reason. I have been, for a long time, considering my actions. I knew that the abuse of power was a bad thing, but it just felt so good. It's like playing a video game when you're supposed to be doing homework, or masturbating at work when you're supposed to be selling vacuums. However, the past few days have been rough. I lost two of my senior advisors Neil Chambers and Kira Cummings, as well as potentially my Inspector Ethan Clarke. And so, when Curtis Cress threatened to withdraw from his role, I knew I couldn't lose my last friend. I realized that my friends were being taken away by forces I couldn't control - and that was when it clicked that you all felt the same way. Therefore, I am going to change."

Virgil straightened up.

"I am going to change. It won't be instant, but our world will change. We, as an empire, as a people, will change. We will get better. We won't just survive. We will thrive. In my BDSM analogy, we will grow a second penis. And so, right here, and right now, I announce a new age. An age of prosperity. And I mark it with announcing what I know all of you, my people, desire right now...Mox."

Virgil looked at Curtis, who nodded his approval.

Virgil turned back to the people. "Mox. He has cum, and he has gone. But with him he has taken many, many lives. We will not tolerate this. My friends," Virgil spread his arms.

"I have offered the terrorist organization known as the Dark Knights a deal. Either they surrender him over to us willingly, or we will wage war and kill him ourselves. In either case, I promise that I will not rest until Mox is dead. I know you have suffered the worst of it, but I can promise you that he has hurt me too. He has hurt all of us. And now is the time that we unite... and we kill him."

"Ayo," Curtis whispered. "That was a pretty sudden plot twist."

"Yep, I know," Virgil whispered back. "So, my people,"

Virgil raised his sword and pointed it at the sky.

"What do you say? I say this marks a new beginning. My people, do you agree?!"

For a few seconds, there was silence. No one spoke. Virgil remained on his balcony, facing the people, waiting for their reaction.

Then, one person began clapping. Then another. Then another. Someone started cheering, and soon, the whole plaza was clapping and cheering Virgil on.

Virgil lowered his sword and smiled at his people.

"Good job," Curtis said. "They're on your side again. Now, let's go get that son of a bitch."

.

"Did you feel that?" Leon inquired, pointing his finger into the air.

"F-feel what?" Neon asked.

Leon closed his eyes in concentration.

"Someone, somewhere, just made a really shitty reference."

"Damn it, Leon, can we please get back to the subject?"

"Right, right. Mox, what is your opinion on the matter?"

"I would genuinely prefer not to die."

"Interesting viewpoint. Thank you for your input. Neon, how about you?"

"I would also prefer if Mox doesn't die."

"Ah," Leon mused. "In that case, it seems all three of us have the same opinion on Mox. How boring. Let's get back to something we disagree on, then. Jenny. What do we do about her?"

"I think we should sacrifice her," Mox replied. "One life to preserve peace is a good trade."

"Careful Mox," Neon hissed. "The same argument can be made for you. In any case, I honestly don't want her to die, but do we really have a choice here?"

"I don't think we do," Leon responded. "And if we do, then I'm not gonna be the character to figure it out. That's the job of the smart characters like Ethan. About him, good job letting the Inspector escape, Neon."

"Gah," Neon exclaimed. "He only got away because you made me try to kill him."

"Okay, hold," Mox waved his arms. "Now is not the time for that argument. Can we please get back to saving me?"

While the three of them tried to figure out a way to save Mox, Ethan had already sped away to find Jenny and Daniel.

Why? It wasn't because of emotions - sure Daniel and Jenny had saved him, but risking his life to save them was too irrational.

No, there was another problem.

This sacrifice wouldn't lead to peace. The Dark Knights would still be outcasts, the citizens of the Virgil Empire would be stuck having sex with a robot that might malfunction to reproduce, and people like Daniel wouldn't rest until they got revenge on everyone involved in the killing of Jenny. And, of course, the tension between the Dark Knights and the Virgil Empire would remain, and likely lead to another war.

Plus, the whole reason Jenny was so needed was because she was the only female in the Virgil kingdom - but there were plenty of girls in the Dark Knights. Enough to repopulate the Earth.

But that meant that the Virgil Empire and the Dark Knights had to UNITE, not negotiate a temporary peace.

No, this Jenny plan was terrible. And he needed to warn Daniel and Jenny about it before they were caught and things went astray.

Oh, also, Ethan didn't exactly know where his energy saber was, and that was a small inconvenience.

As Ethan ran down a corridor on the negative second floor, he wondered where Daniel and Jenny had gone. He realized that they must have decided to start searching for Ethan, so in order to find them, Ethan had to go where Daniel and Jenny thought Ethan had gone.

Which was...where?

Ethan stopped to think.

"If I were Daniel/Jenny, where would I think Ethan would have gone? Damn it, this is impossible to answer. Hmmm..."

*Click*

Ethan froze as the barrel of the gun touched the back of his head.

"Ethan, where exactly do you think you're going?"

It took Ethan a few seconds to register the voice.

"Chandler," Ethan replied. "Long time no see."

"Indeed. Now then, slowly raise your hands so that I can see them."

Ethan nervously raised both his hands as he took a deep breath.

It was time to remember his old teacher Rico's training.

"Chandler, you won't kill me, will you?"

"I'd prefer not to. So, step forwa-"

He never finished his sentence. Before Chandler could even blink, Ethan swung around clockwise and slammed his right palm into Chandler's hand, sending the gun flying out of his hands. Unfortunately for Chandler, that wasn't where Ethan's attack ended. Using his other hand, Ethan struck Chandler with a left hook.

The force of the blow made Chandler lose his balance, and he collided with the wall.

As Ethan advanced toward Chandler, Rico Jacobson's words flashed through his mind.

"You must learn to kill the parts of your psyche that tell you to spare your enemy, for if you don't, your enemy will kill you."

Ethan threw a jab, but this time, Chandler was prepared. Chandler was, after all, a Dark Knight warrior.

One of the best ones, too.

He ducked, avoiding the blow. Nearly instantly, he counterattacked with an uppercut to the stomach, pushing all the air out of Ethan's lungs and forcing him back.

The two of them stepped a few feet away, and began circling each other.

"Chandler, I know we have a history, but now is not the time for that. There is someone I need to save."

"And who would that be, Ethan?"

"Jenny. I know it sounds insane, but she is about to be captured and killed. I need to warn her, or we may just stumble into a very unwelcoming sequel."

"Mmmm," Chandler mused. "You expect me to believe that?"

Ethan stopped circling and straightened his body.

"Chandler, please. This is not a fight that needs to happen. I want to show you that hurting someone is not my goal. I need to get to Jenny."

Then, he raised his hands into the air.

"Chandler, I surrender to you. Trust me, please."

That was a mistake.

As soon as Chandler saw Ethan lowering his defenses, he lurched off his spot and jumped toward Ethan. Before Ethan could react, Chandler slammed into him with a bear hug, flinging Ethan off his feet.

They sailed through the air for half a second until Ethan collided with the floor.

"Ouch," Ethan cursed, realizing that he just probably broke a rib or two.

Chandler landed on top of Ethan and immediately pulled his arm back to deliver a blow to Ethan's face.

Ethan's face briefly flashed with terror.

But it wasn't because of the upcoming punch.

"Chandler, are you..."

"A-am I what?" Chandler blushed.

"Chandler," Ethan looked down in horror. He was on the floor, and Chandler was sitting on his chest, getting ready to punch him.

However, that wasn't the problem.

"I feel your... Chandler, are you... hard?"

Chandler lowered his hand awkwardly.

"I, uh," he scratched his head, "hehe."

"Chandler, get the fuck off me right now."

Chandler bit his lip.

"Ethan, you have very strong chest muscles."

"Chandler, I will rip out your windpipe."

"MMmmm," Chandler moaned. "I would love for your masculine hands to wrap around my neck-"

I would like to take a moment here to pause.

Ethan Clarke, our wonderful Inspector, has been through a lot. He has seen and done a lot. He has been presented with situations where he had to fight for his life more than once.

However, the power that his next punch carried dwarfed anything Ethan had ever done in his life.

Ethan swung his right arm, commanding all of his blood and energy to retract from all other parts of his body and into his fist, and slammed it into Chandler's jaw with the force of a train traveling at a hundred miles per hour.

Needless to say, Chandler's horizontal position relative to the Earth changed significantly.

According to current estimates, Chandler flew around the Earth approximately 31984984329813320959309293949483 times, possibly more.

When he finally landed a few feet away from Ethan, he was flaccid and unconscious.

"Gah, perverted asshole," Ethan wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Clap clap clap

Ethan spun around.

Standing before him was Daniel, Jenny, STD, and Ryan the Rock.

"Congrats, Ethan!" Daniel exclaimed. "You did well!"

Daniel thumbed up with both hands.

Ethan sighed.

"Good, you two are here. There's something I need to tell you, but we should go discuss it in private."

They maneuvered the tunnels of the PENIS until they reached Daniel's dorm.

Daniel plopped down on the bed, Jenny sat down in a chair, STD climbed into Jenny's lap, and Ryan became hard as soon as he entered Daniel's bedroom and stopped moving.

"I have bad news," Ethan announced once they were alone. "To make things very short, Virgil realizes that Jenny is the last remaining girl in the Virgilian kingdom, but instead of also realizing that the Dark Knights have plenty of females capable of giving birth, he has instead decided to exchange his younger brother Oliver for Jenny. He will kill her, and using advanced technology, create a machine capable of producing children. A machine that has never been tested and may very well be faulty. Unfortunately, it gets worse. Due to reasons you won't understand anyway, this will not bring us peace. I have thought over it, and the only way for peace is to unite the Virgil Empire and the Dark Knights. This trade won't bring peace, it will only delay a war."

"Dang," Daniel stiffened up. "That means..."

"Jenny will indeed die," Ethan confirmed. "And as of right now, I see no way to escape. The exits of the compound are defended by guards, and given that Neon has probably already given the command to capture her, we have nowhere to run. We can hide, but we can't escape. That is why I am here - Daniel, do you have any inside knowledge as to how we could use an alternate exit?"

Daniel looked down.

"N-no. There are no secret exits."

"Well, shit," Ethan sighed.

Daniel and Jenny made eye contact, both of their expressions displaying their fear.

"Jenny," Daniel shivered, "this means that...you will die."

She nodded, tears appearing in her eyes.

"Does that...does that mean that this is the last time we will ever see each other?"

Daniel shook his head.

"No. No! This can't be true."

"I...I think it is," Jenny sighed. "Daniel, I'm afraid that this is goodbye."

Daniel appeared close to tears.

"I-If this is goodbye...then there is one more thing we must do. Ethan," Daniel turned to him. "Guard the door."

"No."

"What?"

Ethan put on a disappointed expression.

"I'm sorry, but if we can't save Jenny and prevent this war, then I'll at least save myself. Good luck to you two." Ethan turned toward the door to leave.

"No, Ethan, wait! We saved you - return the favor!"

Ethan turned back around.

"You saved me. Thank you. But I can't kill myself over nothing."

"We just need five minutes, please."

"Five minutes could be too - wait, five minutes for what exactly?"

Daniel blushed.

"I was, uh, thinking, that if we're seeing each other for the last time, then, uh, uh," he looked at Jenny, who knew exactly what Daniel was talking about.

"Daniel," Ethan whispered, "what the hell do you want to do?"

Daniel looked down.

"Ethan, there is something I have learned. Life is short. And this might very well be my last chance to...to..."

"Spit it out!"

"Commit toe suck."

There was silence in the room for a few seconds.

"Daniel. No."

Daniel took a deep breath.

"Ethan, Jenny will die tomorrow. This is her last chance. Let me quote Bon Jovi-"

"No! No quoting anyone!" Ethan exclaimed. "I'm leaving! If you want to try to survive, then try to escape! But don't waste your final minutes engaged in this disgusting impure act!"

"Ethan!!!" Daniel yelled, getting up. "This is our last chance. It's my life. It's now or never. I ain't gonna live foreverrrrrrrr."

"Stop singing, Daniel."

"I JUST WANNA LIVE WHILE IM ALIVEEE"

"Shut up Daniel."

"Fine! Leave! Disregard the fact that we saved you, and go save yourself. I guess I was mistaken about you, you really are a selfish bastard."

Ethan narrowed his eyes at Daniel.

"Screw you, Daniel. I'm giving you two minutes, and then I'm going."

"Yay, thanks, Ethan! Jenny, take off your shoes!"

My dear readers

After much debating

It appears I am unable to write a toe sucking scene

I know it's only for humor and all

But sadly my morals are getting in the way of doing it

Maybe I'll write it later ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sorry~~~

Instead of the Daniel-Jenny toe sucking scene, we'll focus on Ethan's reactions to it.

Once again.

Ethan had seen many things.

Ethan had done many things.

But Ethan had never seen anything quite like this.

As soon as the act started, his eyes widened.

His pulse quickened.

Ethan watched in horror as the atrocious act took place. He wanted to look away, but couldn't. He was paralyzed. It was horrible, and yes fascinating - in a bad way.

The very things they were doing in front of him...it was too much. Too much.

Ethan had always been anti-romance, but this was beyond what his body could handle.

It was beyond what his mind could handle.

He found the sheer energy and emotion of the act too overpowering.

And so, Ethan, our dear inspector, went into shock and collapsed on the floor.

He hit the floor with a loud bonk.

"A-oh," Daniel puckered his lips at Ethan. "Come on, I haven't even put the foot in my mouth, and he's already lost consciousness.

"Awh," Jenny sighed, "it seems the imagination is strong with this one. What do we do?"

"Hmph," Daniel hmphed.

Hmphed

Lol

New word

I invented a word guys

Hmphed

Daniel hmphed. "Well, we can't do the deed without a guard...I guess we'll have to wait until the sequel."

"But I don't think I'm living until the sequel..."

"Ok, good point," Daniel sighed. "Time to plan a heroic escape."

"And...what do we do with the Inspector?"

"We'll take him with us! Hoi, Ethan," Daniel nudged Ethan with his foot. "You okay, Inspector?"

The nudge brought our favorite inspector back to life and he jumped up, swinging his arms around.

"Sheesh!" Daniel exclaimed. "Calm down!"

Ethan blinked rapidly like seven hundred times.

"What the hell did I miss."

"We never got to do anything because of you :("

"Thank goodness. Anyway, two minutes are up, time to flee."

Ethan turned around and opened the door to the dorm.

"And, hey, Daniel." Ethan turned around. "I really am thankful that you saved me. I wish I could help, but I don't see any practical way I can. And right now is not my time to die. So, as my farewell, please take my advice and get out of here. Escape, or die trying. Good luck."

Daniel nodded.

"Okay, Ethan. Good luck to you too. Until we meet again."

"I doubt we will ever meet again, Daniel. Farewell."

Ethan checked for guards, and slipped out of the room.

Daniel and Jenny made eye contact.

"What do you say, Jenny?"

"I say we die trying. Let's get the hell out of here."

Daniel grinned.

"Indeed, let's go!"

As soon as Jenny put her shoes back on and Daniel redirected his blood flow back into his head, they opened the door and crept out slowly.

They jogged through a corridor until they came to an elevator.

Daniel clicked the button, and they began to wait anxiously.

The elevator dinged, and the door opened.

Jenny and Daniel's smiles quickly left their faces as thirty guards, led by Neon, stepped out of the elevator.

"Jenny, I'm really sorry. Guards, seize them."

.

Meanwhile, Leon and Mox were still in Neon's office.

Mox was in a chair facing the table, and Leon was standing up, facing away from Mox.

A couple of minutes ago, Leon had seen Ethan meetup with Daniel and Jenny on his laptop, so he had told Neon to hurry up and capture Jenny.

And now, he and Mox were alone.

"Mox..."

"Leon. Please think of a way to avoid my death."

"I can't. I'm sorry, Mox. The people demand justice. It's simple. In order to avoid a war, we need peace. In order to have peace, we need Virgil to agree to peace. But with a potential revolution brewing, Virgil won't accept peace unless we save him from his own people- that is, by giving him you."

"But, Leon...I don't want to die."

Leon turned around.

"Mox, I don't want you to die either. You've made mistakes, but you're still my friend. There's just no other way. We need peace, and I need Oliver. And both of those things require you to die."

Leon stole a glance at Mox. He looked flustered. His forehead was covered in precipitation, and he was visibly shaking.

"C-can't you use your laptop to avoid it somehow?" Mox looked up at Leon. "Please??"

Leon sighed.

"That's the problem. Without Oliver dead, I can't-"

Leon stopped.

No, there was something he could do.

Kind of.

Leon walked over to the laptop.

He took another look at Mox, who was trembling,

"Understandable," Leon thought. "He is afraid of dying."

Leon began typing something into the laptop.

"W-what are you typing?" Mox inquired.

Leon didn't respond. Instead, he just finished his sentence, and hit enter.

Mox blinked a couple times.

Then he shook his head.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Mox stood up. "Let's go wage war on Virgil!!"

Leon nodded, smiling sadly.

"You go ahead, Mox, I'll be right behind you."

Mox grinned, stood up, and left the room.

Leon gave his laptop one last look.

He sighed and closed the laptop.

"Mox, I'm sorry," Leon whispered to himself. "There's no avoiding your death. Least I could do was ease your suffering... by making you forget about your inevitable demise.
