The Magic Garment Girl
Morgan POV:
It's been over a month since I met Eu. And then I made a new friend. His name is Ayumu and aside from his quirkiness, he's a pretty cool guy to hang out with. An incident from 4 weeks ago had led him to be murdered by a serial killer. Eu brought him back as an undead and she told Ayumu she'd watch over him. When Ayumu found out that Eu was staying at my home he visited pretty often.
Luckily it was only a mile from his house, so it's not too much of a hassle. He stops by and usually hangs out with me and Eu. We take turns cooking since we both seem to be good at it. We talk about movies and video games when we're not doing that. He also has a routine of coming and going to school. I bet it's cool to be a high school student. All the clubs you can join and the people you could meet.
I was currently making beignets while Eu was sitting on the floor with the TV on.
Morgan: You can sit on the couch if you want.
Eu doesn't say anything and I bring the plates of beignets to the table. Eu takes a seat and starts eating. I hear the doorbell ring and go to see who it is. A quick look through the peephole shows that it's Ayumu. I open the door and let him in.
Morgan: Morning, Ayumu.
Ayumu: Morning, Morgan. How's Eu doing?
Morgan: Same as always. Eat, drink, sleep. Kinda like me when I have free time.
Ayumu: Got it. Nice to see you again Eu.
Eu continues eating her beignets as Ayumu has a wierd smile on his face.
Morgan: Should you be heading to school?
Ayumu: Oh, right. See you both later.
Ayumu left and it was only me and Eu. I grab some books and read them. They were about a man with a desire to unify multiple worlds and bring peace to them. Eu appears next to me and looks at the book. I didn't want to assume she was interested, but I also didn't want to rule out the possibility. So I hand it to her and watch her flip through a few pages. Soon she closes the book and puts it on the table before going to her room.
My phone rings and I get a call from Dad. I answer it and talk to him
Gabriel: Hey, Son. It's been a while since I last contacted you.
Morgan: It's been a whole freaking month. Of course it's been long. Well, how have you been doing?
Gabriel: Well as can be. Gotta make sure Monarch Solutions stays in order. We must be productive and efficient.
Morgan: So, you still won't be visiting for a while?
Gabriel: You know how it is. I wish I could, but with all the projects and deadlines I need to make sure nothing goes wrong.
Morgan: Maybe stretch them a bit the next time you announce something.
Gabriel: You might be right. Well, just take care of yourself. Just keep studying and prepare yourself for when you enter college. Monarch University will have a prized student once that will inherit this company.
Morgan: I know.
Gabriel: Good. One more thing. I promised an old friend that I would repay a favor and a precautionary heir would be greatly appreciated. So I offered you to be engage to my old friend Nene. Talk to you later.
Morgan: What!? No! You prostituted me! How could you - -
Dad hung up before I could say anything else. He then sends me a text with a number that I assume belongs to his old friend.
Morgan: Damnit, Dad! I don't even know her. Unbelievable.
I put my phone away and go to make more beignets. I spend 15 minutes making them until they are perfect. I neatly place and stack them on the plates as I eat more with chocolate dip. Suddenly, my phone rings again.
Morgan: What now Dad? I'd prefer another month to process everything.
I look at my phone and see that it's the number my dad texted me. I was surprised and decided to answer it, but was uncertain of who was at the other end
Morgan: Hello?
???: Hello. Is this Morgan?
Morgan: Yes?
???: Amazing. I've been wanting to see you for a long time. My name is Nene. I'm an old friend fo your dad's.
Morgan: Nene?
Nene: Yes. When your dad showed me your picture, I couldn't believe how cute you were.
Morgan: So he owed you?
Nene: Pretty much, but he's now too busy to repay it and it wasn't something he could just throw money at. So he offered to have you engaged to me.
Morgan: And you're okay with that?
Nene: Well, he said you never had a mother. So I didn't think this was a bad idea.
Morgan: Mother? I never knew what having one was like.
Nene: Well let's meet someday. I want to see you face to face.
Morgan: Sure. I-I'll think about it.
Nene: Great. Oh, and to answer your question. Yes, they are real.
I was confused at what she meant before she sent me a picture of what appears to be her well developed chest. I was blushing and didn't know how to take this, so I just exit out of my contacts list. I shouldn't show Ayumu this. I like the guy, but he gives a very strange vibe.
After a few hours, Eu came down and was sitting next to me. I'm kinda lucky that the armor she is wearing doesn't cause the couch to collapse. I don't mean to be rude, but it looks heavy as hell. Although, I wonder what caused her to not want to show any emotion. My phone goes off and it says that the was someone on the front door. I go there and see Ayumu on the steps and looking like he had a rough day.
Morgan: Hey Ayumu.
Ayumu: Hey.
Morgan: What happened? You look like you had a run in with a speeding truck.
Ayumu: That's literally what happened.
Morgan: Oh... At least you can't die twice by what we currently know. Cause you're an undead right?
Ayumu: Yeah, if I wasn't a zombie, they would've had to scrape me off the road.
Morgan: Want me to help you get inside a little?
Ayumu: I would appreciate that.
I grab Ayumu's arm and helped him inside. There he saw Eu sitting on the floor this time and watching TV as she was drinking tea.
Ayumu: Hi Eu. I'm back.
Eu doesn't say anything and just keeps watching the TV.
Morgan: Want dinner?
Eu nods before writting on her notepad.
Eu: "Yes please. Ayumu make it this time"
Ayumu looks in confusion as if it was something he didn't expect her to say. Eu then taps her notepad severla times to repeat a word.
Eu: "Diner".
Ayumu: Sorry. I got hit by a truck on the way home.
Eu: "That's Alright". "Make dinner".
Ayumu: This must be what they call "Tsundere". I think what you mean to say was--
Ayumu gets lost in some kind of fantasy and it was disturbing.
Ayumu: Really? Such a shy girl.
I got weirded out by him so I released him and let him fall.
Ayumu: Oof! Did I say that out loud?
Morgan: Yes.
Eu nods. Ayumu gets up before going into the kitchen and making dinner. I sat on the couch reading a romance novel. I know some people might find those ridiculous, but I really enjoy them.
Ayumu: Morgan, I still can't get used to the fact that you have a sweet-as-hell kitchen.
Morgan: That's my dad for ya. He's kind of a big shot of a company. Has a lot of brands under their name.
Ayumu: Any chance we could trade lives?
Morgan: A normal person would immediately say yes. I would put a pin in it.
Ayumu: Okay.
Eu then gets up and walks to Ayumu to watch him. She looks at her hands as if she wanted to help but was uncertain of her abilities. I wouldn't dissuade her, but I think I could start teaching her to make basic things.
Ayumu: You don't need to worry about helping me with those hands.
Ayumu eventually finished and we all sat at the table and ate dinner. He just kept looking at Eu who was eating a good amount of the food.
Morgan: This is pretty delicious Ayumu.
Ayumu: Well the food you make is pretty good too. So Eu, what'd you do today?
Morgan: Sleep.
Eu: "Slept"
Ayumu then closes his eyes and I can tell he's having another fantasy.
Ayumu: I see, I see.
I just ignored him and kept eating. Soon I looked at Eu and she kept eating and didn't know about the rice grain on her cheek. Ayumu then tries to reach out and grab it.
Ayumu: Look, there's some rice on--
Eu then hits Ayumu's arm and the density of her armor was enough to crack it. Ayumu writhes in pain.
Morgan: I think I felt that in my arm just looking at it.
Ayumu: You think just because I'm a zombie--
Morgan: Okay, do you have to keep letting that be known?
Ayumu: It's a force of habit.
Eu then pulls up her notepad.
Eu: "If you weren't a zombie, you wouldn't be here".
I look at Eu in wonder and look back at how she stopped Ayumu from crossing over to death.
Eu: "Am I troubling you?"
Ayumu: No. If you hadn't brought me back to life, I'd be dead.
The three of us finish eating our food and began watching TV. I still can't get over the fact that Eu is a necromancer from a place called the Underworld. Ayumu than gets up and walks outside the house. It's that time when he decides to leave. And I know for what: To search for the one who killed him. Maybe I should help him, increase his odds of finding the damn guy. Or girl. Whoever they are.
Morgan: Eu, I'm going out for a bit. Think you can be okay on your own for a bit?.
Eu nods and I leave the house. I turn on the "Home" mode for the security system. I know it might not do much against threats, but it's better than nothing. I to the neighborhood that was on the news and look at the social media sites on my phone to get a clue of what's happening. But I've got nothing, except talk about them being part of a cult ritual or something. I suddenly sense something coming from my right and I follow it. I soon come across a graveyard where I hear explosions and go to it.
I got closer and saw a girl in some kind of frilly cheerleader outfit wielding a chainsaw as if she was a video game character. And Ayumu was standing in front of her accusing her to being the Serial Killer. Now I might be stupid saying this, but his wounds were not caused by a chainsaw. I then noticed a massive bear-like creature behind him. Thinking fast, I grabbed a pistol and charge a shot before firing it.
The shot blasts the monster's arm of and Ayumu looks in surprised.
Ayumu: What the--
The girl revs up her chainsaw and jumps up. The bear the claws Ayumu and tries to use him as a shield.
???: Secret Technique! Mystletainn Kick!
At first, I thought she was going to do some kind of a drop kick on the monster. But instead she uses her chainsaw for the attack. She ends up sawing through Ayumu first before she gets the bear. The monster suddenly disintigrates after the girl kills it.
Morgan: You Idiot! You sawed my friend in half
???" Sacrifices are necessary in battle. What can you do?
Ayumu: Until now, I haven't been able to agree with anything you said.
The girl looks at Ayumu and shocked that he's still alive.
???: Why aren't you dead?
Ayumu: 'cause I'm a zombie.
???: You're not human?
Morgan: Not anymore at least.
Ayumu: Yep. It's a long story. Thanks for trying to help at least, Morgan.
Morgan: No problem. Now I think it's time for Ms. Whoever-the-hell-she's-supposed-to-be explains herself.
???: Rude: I'm Virie's genius Masou-Shoujou, Haruna. The thing I just killed was a B-class Megalo, Kumacchi. My graded depended on it. At least understand that much
Morgan: I'd give you a straight up F for not caring about civilians.
Ayumu: Same. And I don't believe in anyone who refers to themselves as a genius.
Morgan: Yeah, it's pretty egotistical.
Haruna: Shut up.
Haruna: Normal people can't understand the feelings of a genius. Ah, whatever. I gotta erase both your memories. I'll start with you on the ground..
Morgan/Ayumu: Huh? Hey, Wait.
Haruna attempts to use her magic, but suddenly her clothes vanish and I look away. She get suprised and ends up kicking Ayumu who also has no clue about what's going on. After I realize my power includes storing objects in a storage dimension, I pull out shorts and a T-shirt to give to Haruna. After all that, I help Ayumu put himself back together and we leave. Ayumu decides to head home and Haruna follows him since for some reason, she blames Ayumu for taking her clothes. I meanwhile head to my home and go to my room. I lay on my bed and still can't believe what I saw.
Morgan: That was crazy. I bet more are still to come. I can't wait.
