Chapter Three.

The urges to kill are slowly starting to take me over. I can't hold out much longer but I will try as hard as I can to stop myself. I don't want to hurt people but....at the same time I do....it feels...good. But I felt so much remorse when I killed Sarah...but she deserved it. Maybe giving in isn't all bad......no, I can't think like that....I can't let her win. I'm so lost. I feel like a child that is lost in the woods with no-one there to save them from the wild animals. Recently more voices have been joining my demon in my head.
Each have different personalities, it's making me crazy....more crazy that I already am....I need help....this is so hard. I don't have much more strength....so hard....to keep in control...

" What did you find?" Catherine whispered to Abbie who gave a sad smile. It was after class and the girls were standing outside the school, in the alley where they wouldn't be seen.

" Evidence that Sarah wasn't crazy." Abbie said as she held up the photo making everyone stare in slight shock.

" Could be photo shop." Catherine suddenly said.

" I ran in through the system....it's not photo shopped." Abbie said in a serious tone.

The girls exchanged worried glances.

" So...what she said was true? There......really is a....demon in our group?" Jessica whispered, her hands nervously drumming her leg.

" Yes, I think there is." Abbie said flatly which made everyone glance at each other with new suspicion.

" This is ridiculous....I mean we're talking about demons here, what next? Freaking vampires?" Catherine threw her hands up in exasperation.

Leah shuffled her feet and let out a low breath.

" It's not that unbelievable.....I mean look at all of the things that we've seen on the internet that can't be explained....like bigfoot and aliens and stuff......either way...we should talk to Ella's dad." Abbie said turning to the short girl who fixed her glasses awkwardly.

You see, Ella's dad is something like a monster hunter. His job is to find stuff that can't be explained and to name and study them, he also had a TV show about it. If you needed information on anything strange or anything supernatural...Ella's dad was the guy to talk to.

" And what exactly would we tell him? Oh hello Mister Wang, say one of our schoolmates was murdered by a demon and we need information to find out who it is. Oh and did we mention the demon was in our group?" Catherine said sarcastically as she crossed her arms over her chest.

" Sort of...." Abbie said as she picked up her hot pink backpack and slung it over her shoulder, she then began walking towards her car with the others following with confused looks.

"A demon (from Koine Greek δαιμόνιονdaimónion) is a supernatural and often malevolent being prevalent in religion, occultism, literature, fiction, mythology and folklore.
The original Greek word daimon does not carry the negative connotation initially understood by implementation of the Koine δαιμόνιον (daimonion),and later ascribed to any cognate words sharing the root.
In Ancient Near Eastern religions as well as in the Abrahamic traditions, including ancient and medieval Christian demonology, a demon is considered an unclean spirit, a fallen angel, or a spirit of unknown type which may cause demonic possession, calling for an exorcism. In Western occultism and Renaissance magic, which grew out of an amalgamation of Greco-Roman magic, Jewish Aggadah and Christian demonology, a demon is believed to be a spiritual entity that may be conjured and controlled
The Ancient Greek word δαίμων daimōn denotes a spirit or divine power, much like the Latin genius or numen. Daimōn most likely came from the Greek verb daiesthai (to divide, distribute). The Greek conception of a daimōns notably appears in the works of Plato, where it describes the divine inspiration of Socrates. To distinguish the classical Greek concept from its later Christian interpretation, the former is anglicized as either daemon or daimon rather than demon.

Mister George Wang was a rather tall man with clean cut silky black hair and almond eyes. He had round owl glasses not unlike his daughter and always wore a demon trap necklace.

" Wait so you can control a demon?" Jessica questioned as she stared at Mister Wang.

" Yes....according to my research you can...but I've never had the opportunity to test out what works and what doesn't..." Mister Wang said a little sadly.

" Can you tell us how?" Abbie asked a little too quickly.

" Of course....um what kind of paper did you say you were writing?" Mister Wang questioned suspiciously.

" Supernatural lore, for history." Catherine answered quickly.

" Hm....alright well......What I'm interested in are the specifics that have to do with controlling demons. Apparently, it can be learned by just about anybody, as Jesus's disciples themselves complain in the Bible that other sorcerer's are cutting in on their business and doing their own exorcisms. There are a few hints left in the Bible about this activity.
There are apparently special spoken words used, although these are not specified in the Bible. The incantation includes a name, possibly a "power name," such as the true name of God.
Once a demon has been cast out, it apparently searches for a "wet" place to go, and if it doesn't find one it and seven more demons will re-enter the same body. Jesus was described as "guiding" the cast out demons into pigs and then running them off a cliff to kill the demons.
There are not many clues. I assume there is a lost book where he learned these demon chasing skills. The Book of Tobit offers some insight about using burned fish entrails to expel demons, but even that information is fragmentary. The heart and liver are burned on the ashes of the perfume used in a wedding chamber, and the smoke drives out the demon, and fish gall is used to anoint the eyes of the victim. But it's not specific about what kind of fish is used, although it would appear to be a big river fish of some sort, like a catfish or carp, perhaps.
It's not clear that Jesus used these same methods to control demons, although fragments of the Book of Tobit were among the Dead Sea Scrolls, so the knowledge was available at the time. Interesting, though that Jesus's sign of the fish might also be in symbolic reference to his activities as an exorcist." Mister Wang paused and chuckled lightly before continuing.

" Also using a demons real name...Use of their name forces them to be aware of the one truth they can never know. If demons seek permanent power but trust no one, they put themselves in a strange position where mathematical truisms paint them into a corner which leaves their soul small and frail holding all the strings. Use of their name suggests you might know how to tug at those strings and unravel them wholesale, from the inside out......." Mister Wang said.

" And how can you tell if someone is a demon?" Jessica asked.

"Often under possession the human begins speaking and acting like the demon would. The possessed humans gain the powers of whichever demon is possessing them. Unlike angels, whose possession of a human vessel has to be with the vessel's consent, demons forcibly possess humans. People suffering from stress, fear or panic can be vulnerable to demonic possession. Demons abhor the name of God...which is Christo." Mister Wang paused as if to think before continuing. The girls shifted uncomfortably to exchange glances before turning their attention to Mr. Wang again as he spoke.

" Look for changes in personality. This is usually seen when the person is affable and suddenly becomes extremely quiet. Someone who is normally very active becomes isolative. Look for changes in sleep patterns. Look for changes in attitude and behavior, usually becoming hostile.
Someone who begins cursing a lot when that is out of character for them.
Notice if they suddenly have an aversion to religious objects. They may be a person who normally goes to Church but suddenly despises the thought.
Look for evidence of self mutilation.
Look for changes in the way the person dresses.
Look for evidence of occult items in their room or locker.
They become abusive and threatening for no reason.
The person may experience night terrors, severe nightmares or both.
The person may have blackouts from time to time as well.
Animals may be frightened and or frightened around the person.
Voice changes are a sign too, usually getting very low or changing altogether.
This person may have almost inhuman strength.
This person may go long periods of time without blinking.
This person from time to time will probably mutter something in a language that they shouldn't know." Mr. Wang said seriously.

" Interesting...okay. How do you stop them?" Addie questioned.

" Holy water, salt....but the most potent solution is an exorcism." Mister Wang said.

" Thank you Mister Wang. We'll definitely get an A on this paper. See you later." Catherine smiled and the girls quickly ran outside.

" Now what?" Jessica asked as she followed her friends.

" Now? We catch ourselves a demon." Abbie smirked.

" Hold on, tomorrow is Prom and honestly I still want to go, despite the situation....." Catherine said as she suddenly stopped.

" Seriously? After everything that's happened? After everything that we've discovered? You're still worried about Prom?" Abbie whipped around to glare at her friend which was kind of scary seeing how Abbie was usually such a sweet and calm girl.

" It's just....prom is something that I've been wanting to go ever since I was little and my sister went. Sorry if I come off as selfish but I am going, I've already got the dress. Look it's almost seven and curfew is at eight so I'm going home. See you tomorrow." Catherine said as she began walking away.

" I have to go home too.....mom wants me to babysit Grant....bye." Jessica said while turning and walking away.

" I have to go too...bye." Leah mumbled as she walked in the opposite direction.

" You can come in and we can talk, this is too important to put off." Ella whispered to Abbie who nodded and the two walked into Ella's house, quickly shutting the door behind themselves.

The killers pov.

They knew.

This could potentially be a problem.

" You idiot! This is all your fault! If you had just let me kill those friends of yours, we wouldn't be in this mess." My demon, May shouted in my head which made me flinch.

" Tick tock goes the clock. You're running out of time, little one. When the clock stops, so do you. " That voice? Is the voice I like to call Time. He always uses clock metaphors when trying to get a point across...and frankly...it's terrifying.

" I'm not going to let you hurt my friends." I growled quietly, the growl was low and not quite human. I was slowly beginning to lose my humanity, he was right...I was running out of time...and very quickly.

" You won't have a choice." May growled in return.

" Yes I will. They're my friends and this is my body. What's stopping me from going back and revealing myself to them so that they can help me?" I snapped.

" They'll hate you, you killed Sarah. They'll turn on you." May hissed.

" They're my friends...they wouldn't do that." I said, uncertainty lacing my voice.

" Are you sure about that? Are you willing to bet your life?" May smirked, already knowing my answer.

I slumped my shoulders in defeat and looked down with a sigh.

" No." Said under my breath.

" That's that I thought, now go home and get some rest. You'll need it for Prom tomorrow." May teased as I began to make my way home.
