I heard a knock at my door. "Mo-" I cut myself off, I guess I'll get it. She's done a lot for me so it's the least I could do.

I walked down the stairs, moving my head side to side from the beat I had been working on.

I opened the door and it was Gary, he had a grin on his face.

"Sup, Ashy boy" He walked in my house without permission, "So you're not grounded?" I asked him while putting my hand on my hips.

"Pft, no." He chuckled.

He walked upstairs and went into my room.

I shut the door and locked it.

My Mom walked into the lobby.

"Who was it?" She looked at me concerned.

"NO WAY!" We heard Gary scream.

She shrugged and sighed, "Dinner will be ready in half an hour" She smiled and walked back into the kitchen.

I walked back up the stairs to see Gary double fist pumping, looking at my room.

"You like it?" I chuckled.

"ASH!" He snapped his head towards me and put his hands on my shoulders.

"I'm moving in with you!" He looked at me with stars in his eyes.

"Urm, yeah sure" I laughed it off.

I went and sat back down on the chair.

"Gary are you any good at c-"

"Creating beats?" He walked over and sat at on the chair by my computer.

"How did you know wh-"

"Because I'm cool, okay?" He raised his eyebrows at me.

I thought of an idea.

"Hey, so since we're suspended, do you want to stay at my house?" I fist pumped.

He looked at me with a huge smile "YOU BET I DO!" He shouted almost making my hat fly off.

"Text your Mom then and ask her to prepare your stuff." I chuckled.

Gary quickly pulled his phone out and started texting his Mom.

Should I tell him that I want to pursue my dream as a singer? Wait a minute, do I even want to be a Musician? I thought to myself.

"She said yeah, dude" He snapped me out of deep thought.

"O-Oh" I stuttered.

I do want to become a Musician.

"Gary, I want to become a Musician" I smiled at him, he nodded.

"Ash, I know for a fact I'll see your name on the billboards one day" He gave me the thumbs up.

I smiled at him.

"Right so....do you have any lyrics that you could sing while I create a beat?" He questioned me.

I did spend the last 4 hours writing songs, one was about...Serena. 

I felt my cheeks warm up.

"What, is one about a girl?" Gary laughed but then noticed that it actually was.

"Who is the special girl, Ashy boy?" He rolled his chair over to me and nudge me with his elbow.

"Dawn?" He tried guessing.

"No" I chuckled.

"M....Serena?" He smirked.

I felt my face shoot bright red.

"Aww it is!" He laughed.

"Gary! Don't tell her!" I grabbed his shirt.

"I won't" He chuckled.

I leaned over to my desk and passed him the paper.

I watched him read it, he nodded a few times while reading it.

"So, I can kind of get a sense of the beat" He looked up from the paper.

I was surprised that he did.

"You do?" I looked at him in shock.

"Yeah, now go on. Go record yourself singing it!" Gary rolled back over to the computer and opened up Audacity.

I walked over to the microphone and took a deep breath.

"Ready?" He looked over the monitor.

"Yeah!" I fist pumped.

"So did Gary help you get to where you are today?" He continued to write on the notepad.

I sighed, "Yeah, but we're not friends anymore" I tensed my fist. I was such an idiot to push my best friend away.

"What's Gary doing today then?" He looked up from the pad and pushed his glasses up.

"N-No clue, probably focusing on grades, it is our last year so he wants to do the best he can" I sighed again.

"Don't you need to pass?" He sat back in his chair, putting one leg over the other.

"Yeah, I'm due to go back to the school and do the exams later this month" I rubbed my eye.

I turned my attention back to the clock.

"Bro! That was totally dope!" Gary did a gangster hand shake with me.

"Wait, how do we get this out to the people of the world?" I looked at him.

He looked at me as if I was retarded.

"Youtube, what are you adapt, RETARD!" he laughed

"Blaziken, fuck off" I replied

We both laughed, it was a scene from FaZe Apex's Vlog.

"Ash, do you have a youtube channel?" Gary looked at me.

"Pokeamour" (Pls sub to me pls)

He sat up from the computer and I sat down. I logged in and clicked the upload button.

"What did you name the file, Gary?" I turned my attention towards him.

"Ashy boy's dope song" He smirked.

I sighed.

I give up with this dumbass.

I looked for the file and after 50 years of searching for it, I finally found it. I clicked it and it started to upload.

"Alrighty, what do we call it?" I looked at him again.

"CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!" He laughed, he was referencing the FaZe Clan's Youtube titles.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE I FOUND THIS!" I responded.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE I FELL!" He laughed even more.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!" I started to laugh.

"WHO CAN'T BELI-"

"Boys!" I heard my Mom shout from the bottom of the stairs, "Dinner is ready!" She shouted again.

Me and Gary both looked at each other and licked our lips.

"I'M STARVING!" We both shouted in union.

I guess I'll just put the title as 'Boyfriend' 

I clicked the publish button and watched it process. Gary grabbed me and pulled me away from the computer.

We both ran down stairs and sat down in the kitchen, the smell of spaghetti made me even more hungry, "I can't wait to eat" I rubbed my stomach.

"Me too" Gary chuckled.

"Here you go" She placed two portions of spaghetti in front of us, we both started to eat our food. My Mom watched me eat. I love my Mom.

"Ah, so Miss Yvonne was the reason of your first song?" He cracked his knuckles.

"I thought about her when I was making the song" I put my arms behind my head, like a headrest.

I miss Serena.

"What about the other songs?" He looked at me, what does he mean?

"What do you mean? Are they about her? Some of them are, yeah" I sniffed.

He continued to look at me.

"Is the song 'Confident', 'All around the world' and 'Beauty and a Beat' about her?" He pulled his note pad back out.

"Y-Yeah, I didn't write Nicki's part though." I continued to look at the roof.

I sighed, I hate my life.

"Yes, I was about to ask about that line 'Gotta keep an eye out for Serena' " He sighed.

"Do you think I can ever come back from my mistakes?" I sat up and questioned him.

He smiled, "Anyone can"

A moment of silence passed by.

"Want me to continue telling you about my past, or do you want to ask me more questions?" I looked at him.

"I'd like to ask a few more questions, then you can continue"

"Alright" I replied.

He pulled out a few sheets from his desk, "From these reports, you c.....never mind" He put them back in his desk, I'd rather not know what he was going to ask.

I looked back at the clock.

After we finished dinner me and Gary went upstairs and started to write some songs, Gary's ideas weren't actually that bad.

A knock was heard at the door.

"Who's that?" Me and Gary looked at each other.

"You get it" He pointed to me.

"No you get it!" I pointed back at him.

"I'm sleeping over so I shouldn't have to!" He argued.

"My Mom fed you, it's a nice way to say thanks" I argued back.

"N-"

"Hey you two" A soft gentle voice came from the door frame.

Gary looked over my shoulder and smiled.

I turned around and it was Serena and Dawn.

"Hey" I smiled at them.

Dawn stood there in amazement, "Geez, Ash" She observed my room and then dived onto my double bed.

"It's almost like a studio?" Serena too observed the room.

"That's because Ashy boy is going to become a mus-"

I put my hand over Gary's mouth, I could feel the smirk through my hand.

"Musician?" Serena guessed, she got it first time.

I sighed and closed my eyes, "Yeah" 

"His first song is about a certain girl who he likes!" Gary grabbed my hand and moved it away from his mouth.

"He has a crush?" Dawn and Serena said in union.

I felt my cheeks go bright red, I'll kill Gary.

"N-No!" I sweatdropped.

"Aw! He does who is it, Ash?" Dawn slid over and nudged me with her elbow.

She was teasing me, I think she knew who it was.

I looked at Serena, she looked a bit down.

"What's wrong, Serena" I changed the subject and walked over to her.

"Can I talk to you in private?" She blurted out, every was confused.

"Sure" I scratched my nose.

We both walked out of my room and I shut the door behind me.

"What's wr-"

"I-I want to break up with Calem" She played with her thumbs.

It felt like Christmas, wait! Perfect! I'll buy her a really expensive present for Christmas! It's a start.

I'm actually proud of her though, she's finally gained the courage to break up with that dumbass.

I completely forgot that she was there, I stood there looking at her with a smile. 

"W-Why are you smiling?" She looked at me.

"You've finally gained the courage to break up with him" I pulled her into a hug.

Her body was tense for a moment, but it slowly relaxed.

My heart was beating so fast, I just wanted to kiss her right here.

"Thanks, Ash" She broke away from the hug, she looked like she wanted to c-continue the hug? I'm probably over thinking it.

Serena pulled out her phone and started to text someone.

I looked over and it was Calem.

'Hey, Calem

I think we should break up, it's been a fun ride, we've had our moments, but it's time for that to end. I no longer like you, I wish you the best for your next girlfriend' 

Her thumbs hovered over the send button.

I put my hand on her shoulder, "It's how you feel deep down, if you want to break up then do it!" I fist pumped with my other hand.

She pressed the button then smiled, "I feel like a bunch of weight just fell off my shoulders" She giggled.

"Yeah" I chuckled.

I went to open the door to my room, but she grabbed my arm, "Huh?" I looked back at her

"You'll always be you, right?" She had a small pink tint on her cheeks.

"Yeah, of course" I smiled brightly at her.

"You'll always be you, right?" He repeated what I said to Serena back then.

"I-I don't know, I'm lost, I don't know who I am" I lay back down.

"You're Ash Ketchum." He responded plainly.

"But, I feel so lost" I sighed.

He stood up from his chair and walked back over to the window.

"Don't be someone you're not, Ash" He took his glasses off.
