~Prologue~
"Imma kill that cheating bitch." Mizuki shouted, her hair and spit flying everywhere while the girl beside her barely resisted face-palming herself.
"Dude! It doesn't matter anymore. Let it be." She said.
"It maybe doesn't to you but I ain't gonna rest until I knee him in his non-existent nuts hard enough to make him sterile."
If you're surprised at Mizuki's speech, get used to it. She speaks that way and in an even weirder.
"I really don't care anymore." The girl sighed, genuinely wanting to get over all this romantic mess.
"Sarang, seriously! Nothing matters to you. I set you up in this one and thanks to that self-centered ass-hole, you're going through all this."
The girl, now awesomely sporting the name Sarang, ran a hand through her blood-red hair.
"Honestly? I knew this was bound to happen. I and Jongin are polar opposites. You and Luhan thought that being his boo-thang would reduce my social allergy by drastic measures. But, I ain't gonna change Miz. I'm just gonna stick to my anti-social self."
Sarang was too much anti-social to be human.
Her life was centered around her job in Starbucks, her apartment that was more of a den than a home and her friendship with Mizuki. It was all thanks to Mizuki's efforts that Sarang had developed a strong brother-sister relationship with her boyfriend, Luhan.
Other than that, Sarang's social life was poorer than a old ahjussi.
"He could've called it quits nicely if he wasn't going to continue. Why cheat?" Mizuki, obviously wasn't going to shut up that easily.
"Can we talk about this later? We have a shift to handle." Sarang gathered her blood-red hair in a loose pony-tail and walked out to stand behind the cash register.
Mizuki, reluctantly, stood at her ready behind the streamer. Sarang sighed. All though she hid it well from Mizuki, she couldn't help but feel a little bit sad.
Jongin was, after all, her first boyfriend. And the first break up always hurts.
Amidst her own imagination shop bell tinkled. And, entered a guy that would change Shin Sarang's world into a whole mess.
A mess of chaos, danger and of course, Love.
The guy was roughly 5'10. He had purple hair that was well-hidden under his black hood except for a few strands escaping from the confines of it. His facial features were shadowed by the black hood. The only thing clearly visible was his perfectly bow-shaped lips, that were sinfully plump. He stood in front of counter, parallel to Sarang, who on the other hand, was perfectly oblivious about his presence.
All thanks to the fact, her back was turned to the guy.
The guy cleared his throat and that made Sarang turn around from whatever she was doing.
"May I help you?" Sarang asked immediately, embarrassed of making her customer wait.
Meanwhile, the guy was looking at her with unblinking eyes. His onyx eyes shot up to stare at Sarang's dark brown eyes.
"Can I have a Iced Americano?" His voice was deep.
"Sure!" Sarang smiled as she turned around to ring up the stranger's order.
It was solely due to Sarang's oblivious nature that she didn't notice, otherwise the whole counter noticed the pair of onyx eyes, distinctly hidden by the strands of purple hair, fixated on the red-haired barista, as though she was the only thing present in the shop.
A certain blaze of curiosity shone at his eyes as they trailed along Y/N's frame like a hawk. As she turned around to deliver the order and he took it without a word.
"That would be $3, please," Sarang said. The stranger fished out a $5 dollar note from his hoodie pockets and held it towards the girl in question.
"Keep the change." That was what he had uttered, before swiftly turning on his heel and exiting the premises.
"IMMA GONNA ASK YOU THIS ONE MORE TIME. DO YOU KNOW THAT GUY?"
Who was shouting?
Who do you think?
It's Mizuki, of course! Who else do you expect to have such a loud outburst?
"For the 10th and final time; NO!"
Sarang said her patience at the edge of finishing.
"Well, then! Explain this! He walked into the shop. Stood at the counter.
You looked at him and went off with your classic 'What can I get you' greeting and then, the whole time you're getting his order ready, he stares at you like he's contemplating on whether fling you on his shoulder and carry you god knows where and gives you a $2 dollar tip?
What is he? Mother Teresa's son?"
For a moment, Sarang just blankly stared at her best friend, slowly registering her words.
"Miz, seriously! I don't know him. Can we please drop this conversation and get back to working? We still have 3 hours before our shift ends." Mizuki knew Sarang's tone.
She knew that if she pestered the girl anymore, she would end up earning a cold shoulder from her and let's just say that Sarang is a very hard person to pacify.
With that said, Sarang wordlessly led Mizuki out to the front desk to continue with their shifts.
Much to their ignorance, a pair of dark eyes stared at the red-haired barista like his life depended on it.
2nd April
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARANGIE!!!" Luhan shouted handing the girl a bouquet of purple and white Carnations.
"Aww thank you Oppa!" Sarang smiled.
"Congrats girl! You turn 22 today." He said while Sarang rang up his usual Latte.
"You two have an hour more, right?" Mizuki nodded as she passed Sarang Luhan's latte.
"Listen, I'm gonna take you two out so be prepared after work."
Sarang and Mizuki nodded before going back to their work.
It was a tradition almost.
That every year at their birthdays Sarang, Mizuki and Luhan went for an outing.
But, this year, this particular outing would be different.
And, honestly, no one got the slightest hint of it.
Prologue out!
Let's get started!
It's gonna be a hell of a ride.
