64. Only Together

Visenya sat back in the small council room, listening to all the lords as they spoke and politicked. Aemond has disappeared from the table and hid under her skirts, his face between her thighs.

He spread her legs wide enough for him to nudge his tongue against her clit, fanning his hot breath over her heat. A blush rose on her cheeks as she gripped the edge of the table, tuning out the sound of her council speaking of war.

Aemond had moved to kiss her thighs, sucking and leaving marks that no one would see except them. He ran his finger up the seam of her cunt and collected her arousal just to taste.

He was teasing her, and she was trying not to squirm. Finally, he wrapped his lips around her clit and gave a good suck before sliding his pointer finger in. Her knuckles were turning white as she clenched the wood of the table, closing her eyes as she felt him slip another finger.

Suddenly the table disappeared and it was just her and Aemond without clothes as she watched him devour her. But when she looked down at him, Aemond had both eyes.

What was once his sapphire eye was now a perfectly healthy violet eye. Both eyes were looking right at her as he fought to bring her to orgasm.

"Almost there, sweet girl," He whispered.

Scenes from an unlived life flashed before her eyes. A childhood where Rhaenyra and Alicent got along, living a kind life with her brothers and uncles, all together. Falling in love with Aemond from a young age and happily marrying. Being named heir.

Tears brimmed her eyes as she reached her climax, holding on to Aemond's hair as she screamed out for him.

She caught her breath and suddenly she was clothed again. But when she looked down, she saw she was standing in a field of fire and blood, bodies all around her.

And Aemond's.

He was lying with vultures circling him, and she saw his lifeless body. "NO!" She wailed, falling to her knees. Dark Sister was lodged in his skull right where his sapphire eye was. His violet eye was void of life and she was shaking as she tugged on his arm. "Please, baby, come back. I am sorry. I am so sorry."

"Was it all worth it?"

Visenya looked up and fell back in fear as she saw Laeny standing with a bloody cut across her neck, but her head was still attached.

"L-Laeny, my sweet girl."

"Was all of this worth your throne, Mother? If you knew it all then, would you do it again?"

"Sweet Girl, I only wanted to protect you all. I just wanted to keep you from her grasp."

"You really think she had anything to do with this? Do you truly think Rhaenyra was the danger? You know it was Daemon. All you had to do was let him die and none of this would have happened. You remember it, in the training yard, when he broke your nose. You let Father stop before he could bash his skull in. All you need is him dead. But all you are getting is everyone else dead."

Visenya felt her tears dripping off her cheeks as she looked back down at Aemond, cradling his cheeks. "Please, my love. Bring him back! You are not my daughter, bring him back, please. I will give anything."

Suddenly it was Daemon instead of Laeny. "Would you trade your children's lives for his?"

Her blood chilled and she found herself freezing. She shook Aemond's lifeless body. "Help me, please, Aemond. No one protects me like you do. I can't do this without you."

When Visenya looked back up at Daemon, he had his knife to Maegor's throat. "Choose."

Visenya shook her head. "N-No, please don't make me choose. He's my baby boy."

"Either your son or your husband. Do you feel his cold and dead skin beneath your fingers? You can change that, Visenya. He can hold you and be back in your arms within seconds. So make the choice."

She looked back down at Aemond's lifeless eye as she sobbed, tracing her thumb over his lips that were turning blue.

"Aemond. I chose Aemond."

Visenya bolted up as she gasped for air, Aemond's arms around her already. She must have been screaming again, she must have already woken him up.

Visenya struggled to catch her breath as she shook with panic, turning to look at her very alive husband. She immediately wrapped her arms around him and held him tightly as she cried.

"Shh," He whispered, running his fingers through her loose hair. "You are safe."

"It wasn't the same," She whispered. "This one was about you."

Aemond kissed the crown of her head and buried his chin in the crook of her neck. "You have nothing to fear. I am alive and right here. Maegor is okay, as is Vharra."

"You were dead, Daemon killed you."

"Not happening, Vis."

"But ... he made me choose. And it makes me feel sick."

"Choose what?" Aemond asked softly as she pulled away. She laid back down on the mattress, lying on her side to face him. He copied her movements so he could lie on his side and meet her.

"You were gone, and I could have you back for a price. I would have to sacrifice Maegor."

Aemond's eye widened slightly in shock. "What?"

"He made me choose, Aem."

"And?" He asked, placing a hand on her cheek.

"I chose you."

They sat in silence for a few moments as her choice sunk in. Not even a real choice, it's not like it was anything more than a nightmare.

"Why?" He gently asked.

"Because despite the pain of losing Laeny, the thought of even losing you drove me to madness."

"Losing Laeny almost drove you to madness, Visenya. So let us pray we never see the day where we must choose."

"But I didn't choose lightly, Aemond. What scares me is that even awake, I would make the same decision. I didn't lose myself to madness because I had you. If I lose you, I do not think the children could save me from madness. I could face the loss of a child with you by my side, I know this, we have faced it, but I could never face losing you. It is unfathomable to me."

Aemond used his thumb to wipe away her forming tears. "And you don't like how it made you feel," he spoke plainly. He was being the support she needed, helping her digest this and be her rock.

"I don't. But I do. Because it reminded me of something I'd lost sight of."

"Which is?"

"How much I fucking love you, Aemond. How much my heart burns for you, how much I need you just to breathe. I lost sight of that, and you pulled me from the darkness and I never even showed appreciation."

Aemond let out a laugh. "That's because I didn't. You didn't willingly get out of bed until Laenor showed up. He pulled you out, and I will never thank him enough."

She placed her hand on his cheek, tracing her thumb over his scar. In the aftermath of Laenora, he was usually too preoccupied to wear the eyepatch. She didn't mind, she loved him without it. "Aemond, I would have thrown myself from the balcony had you not been by my side. You're the one who cleaned me. I still can't believe you willingly did that."

"Sometimes I wonder if you'll ever realize the depth of my love, Visenya," he said with a sad frown.  "But I also wondered if you didn't need me anymore."

Her eyes widened and she frowned. "That's complete horseshit, Aemond. I need you more than Laenor."

"Had it not been for the loss of him, I don't think you would have ever fallen in love with me. I don't want you to think I am complaining or -"

"Aemond, your feelings and fears are always valid to me. I want to know when something is wrong. I love you wholely and completely, nothing could replace you. We are supposed to burn together, until the day we die. I do not plan on us dying anytime soon. We have a war to conquer."

"And we can burn the realm together if need be. We can rewrite history, but only together."

She nodded. "Only together."

Visenya walked into the small council with her head held high and she sat down, setting her hands on the table. "After some consideration this past week, I have rethought my approach to this war. From now on, when we dispatch a dragonrider, we send them in groups. What is the status of the blockade of the Gullet?"

Lord Lannister was the one to answer. "Lord Corlys has set sail for here. Word of Laenor's status reached Dragonstone and there have been claims he changed his mind. Daemon barely let him escape with his life, and it caused a scene."

Visenya started to smirk and she nodded. "So we may have gained the Velaryon fleet?"

"Yes, I would like to remain hopeful that is what he plans to do. He would never side against Laenor," Rhaenys said with a smile.

"But this brings on a new conflict," Maester Munkun spoke. "The Triarchy had just agreed to support us to enact their revenge on the Sea Snake, they will not take too kindly to knowing he is on our side."

"But we know they also equally hate Daemon, so maybe they will stay out of the war," Aemond said.

"That's what we would all be made to think, but that would give them a reason to attack us both. We need to be weary of that," Rhaenys advised.

"I would like us to also take an offensive approach. We should show our strength, use our dragons. We have troops scattered as of now, if we aide them, we could be unstoppable."

Rhaenys smiled at Visenya's enthusiasm. "You are ambitious, Visenya. But if you allow our dragons to burn the realm, what will you be queen of when all is said and done? We are in a waiting game now, My Queen. Allow our troops to fight before going in and torching the realm. You will have many opportunities to use your dragons. You must exercise patience."

"I have a kitchenmaid on Dragonstone spying for me, Your Grace, she has been keeping me updated. I suggest we do something about the White Wyrm. We burned her house a fortnight ago, but we believe her to be hiding. With her role in the death of the princess, I believe we should prioritize finding her," Brella said.

Visenya looked at Aemond and he reached for her hand under the table. "I had my way with Blood and Cheese. You get to seal Lady Misery's fate."

"How easy would it be to find her?" Visenya asked.

Brella tilted her head, nervously biting her lip. "You convince people with the right price, they will do anything. I think I know who is working with her, and I will need more than just money to convince them."

"I will give you want you need if you promise it will get me that cunt in shackles."

Brella stood in front of the mirror, her palms flats against her belly.

Daeron walked out of the washroom and she immediately moved her hands. She couldn't believe she told Aemond before the father of her unborn child. But she was terrified.

"Brells?" Daeron asked as she continued to stare at her reflection.

"Yes?" She asked softly.

"You've been standing there since we returned from the meeting. Is something bothering you?" He asked.

She reached for his hands and squeezed them. "It should be good news but I am filled with dread. It is news that should fill one with joy and excitement."

"What sort of news?" He smiled with his crooked grin she loved so.

She placed his hands against her flat belly. "I am with child. And all I feel is fear."

Daeron's eyes widened.
