Hala lead Layla into the huge palace. Layal's heart beat vibrated with the beats of the drum she was nervous and too much observant of her surroundings. The way Hala walked infront of her with grace leading her deeper into hallway it made Layla's stomach churned with nausea. She liked her lips, wetting it with doubt covering her thoughts.
Just then footsteps neared her as Baraq caught upto her.
"Layla," he hissed at her calling for her attention.
"Barq," she said and whirled around with her wide eyes.
"I can't stay here, it's too much I need to go. I can't be here, she, she is dangerous." Her chest heaved up and down with each heavy breath and Hala turned around with sudden force scaring Layla, making her push herself into Barq's arms.
"Jaffar, will show you your rooms." Saying Hala vanished into the deep end of the hallway making Barq heave a sigh.
Behind them they could see Hafsa and Nazreena nearing them.
"Layla, whatever she says to you just remember why you are here?" Nazreena hissed making Layla realize for what they were here.
"I don't think so we will see each other tomorrow." Nazreena voiced out her thoughts to Barq who nodded back at her. Layla's eyes widened on her words and she denied with her head, but couldn't quite voice out her thoughts.
"I don't feel anything right." Hafsa muttered and Jaffar walked towards them with his eyes glaring at them.
"Quite of a rule breakers you all are." He commented and led them to different rooms.
He glared at Barq and Barq glared back at him with an intensity that Jaffar almost cowered back in fear, but then he remembered who was his queen; Hala. Hala won't let him hurt Jaffar. Jaffar was sure about, but he forgot about the curse that Barq wasn't just a man, but their death.
He was an eagle with death coating it's wings.
As they walked, Layla couldn't help but stick to Barq more and more. Fear made her cold and think about everything and nothing at the same time.
"You will finish them all." It wasn't a question but a statement from Layla as she looked at him, her voice was a whisper.
"All of them." He promised with his whisper into the quiet night and sensed a flame of power burning in his chest.
"This is your room," Jaffar said and bound his hands behind his back.
"I want same room as Barq." Layla said, when Jaffar showed Layla's room and lead away Barq, Nazreena and Hafsa to the other hallway.
Layla breathed deeply on Barq's blinking eyes, he was telling her to belive him and stay. But Layla couldn't stay she didn't wanted to, she was tired of staying.
"You are not in some cheap world out there, you are in a palace and you are being ruled." Jaffar hissed at her with his eyes squinting.
"Jaffar, it would be best if you will just do your work." Barq said with a finality in his tone and gestured Jaffar to walk.
"I will come to meet you." Barq said and walked away leaving a tense Layla behind.
Layla didn't know why but she wasn't feeling it right, nope nothing was right. It was the dead end of the night and she was alone in a huge spacious room of some unknown castle. What a fate?
Hot, frustrated tears sprang into her eyes as she stared at them walking away and closed the doors of her room. There wasn't much left to do and she didn't know what to do. So, she just paced back and forth with her stomach churning into a nasty feeling.
On the other hand, Barq sighed entering his room and closed the doors of his room. He was too fat away from Layla and also there was guards on every pillar, so it wasn't a chance of Barq roaming out free. No, they have to be careful about, more careful about it.
Barq shook his head and started pacing back and forth. Heaving a heavy sigh, he thought to teleport himself through his magic but when he tried nothing worked. His magic stopped working.
His eyes widened with shock and panic, he again tried. Thinking if his village, Nazreena's palace, Layla's house but nothing worked. He couldn't teleport himself. A deep breath puffed out of his lungs and he heard soft footsteps walking out of the room. His eyebrows frowned and he walked towards the door, and opened it. The sight was clear there was no one but then he sensed it.
Someone was behind him. The nasty feeling of being watched crawled on his spine and made him shiver with fear. It was second time Barq sensed fear. It was the same fear he felt in the cage. His breaths ceased.
"Trying to use magic in my my castle, huh." The thin whisper of his mother, Hala's voice hit his ear and his fingers tightened around the door knobs. How the heck she was behind him.
"You and Layla, a very good couple. But, tut, you don't deserve her. You are too much important to me to be with her." Her words lingered in his ears and he turned around to push her but instead was met no one. Hala wasn't behind him.
"I am here, my child." Hala smiled from the window then staredvat him with her blank eyes.
"Jaffar, take Barq to meet his father." He announced to Jaffar who instead of guiding, hit him with a rid.
The piercing pain in the back of his head made him let out a painful hiss. His sight blurred and he stumbled on his knees, his hands clutched the back of his head as he groaned with pain.
Black dots began to cover his vision, as he tried to clear away his eyes by blinking them, but couldn't.
The last face he saw before fainting on the cold ground of the room, was of Layla's.
"You won't kill me Barq." He heard Hala's voice ringing in his ears.
"I will kill you and you father together." The rage dripped from Hala's voice. It was filled with so much of disgust and hate that the voice didn't even fell like Hala's. It felt like, of a person who was nothing but layers of lies and fake purity.
Barq realised his mother was anything but pure.
Pure darkness lead him to sleep, sleep of fear, love, rage and revenge.
