Chapter 10
Darkness, a pounding head and a sore face, that's about everything Jungkook could feel and see as soon as he began to regain his conciousness. Literally every single part of his body hurt and his arms and legs felt like they were paralayzed. The brunette felt as if he had been captured in his own body, waiting for the light to finally release him from this nightmare. He couldn't give up this easily.
Slowly the hacker began to gather all the strength his body possesed and slowly tried to open his eyes. As soon as a small ray of light managed to made it's way through the small slit between the brunette's eyelids he quickly shut them again due to the brightness. "Jin come quickly! He's awake." A familiar voice spoke, however Jungkook had no idea who it was that was talking. Sure he had heard that voice before but somehow his brain still wasn't functioning properly.
Soon the hacker began to do a second try at opening his eyes, only for the bright light to immediately infiltrate his sight again as soon as he opened his eyes slightly. However this time the brunette didn't give up this easily. Slowly his body was regaining some of it's strength and thus Jungkook pushed himself to open his eyes completely. The bright light of the room he was laying in was blinding at first, however soon his eyes got used to it and slowly he started to see two faces hanging right above his.
"Is he okay?" One of the males spoke, concern cleary lacing his voice. "You're acting as if I'm a goddamn doctor. I am just as clueless as you are, do I look like a damn surgeon or something? Out of all the jobs in the world that's be the one job I'd never do." Jin answered the other male who only scoffed in response before he leaned a bit closer to Jungkook and started to softly pinch the boy's cheeks in order to get some reaction out of him.
"Last time I checked you were the one who is most skilled in fixing injuries out of all of us." The pink haired male who was hanging right above Jungkook spoke, continuing to try and get the male underneath him to react to whatever it was that he was doing. Back when they all had still been training the whole team had gone through multiple medical trainings in case one of the teammembers needed medical attention. Jin had been the one who had been best at these by far.
"Oww." Jungkook softly managed to bring out as Jimin pinched his face again and immediately the brunette managed to get the full attention of both Jin and Jimin. "Ohh so you can still respond, great! Now we won't get fired!" The pink haired male sprung up happily while a bright smile broke out on his face. "I'll go and tell the good news to the others!" He announched before dashing out of the room, leaving Jin and Jungkook completely alone.
Jin smiled at the behaviour of his friend before he focussed on the male in front of him. "How are you feeling?" The older male asked as he locked eyes with Jungkook. The hacker took a deep breath before he began to push himself up on his elbows. Flashes of what had happened suddenly appeared before his eyes and the male immediately grabbed his head in the process. He could clearly seen the chip he had been holding and Johnny pointing that damn gun at him and Taehyung intervering. Ohh how he needed to thank the other for saving his life.
"Easy, you probably have a concusion." Jin the spoke as he immediately grabbed Jungkook's shoulders in order to steady the boy. The fact that Jungkook was in this state was already bad enough but what was even worse was that they still needed him to find Johnny. Like the injured male would ever agree to help them again. The state he was currently in would definitely not be appreciated by the younger.
"It feels like my head is going to explode." Jungkook spoke as he slowly let go of his head again and opened his eyes once more. Jin smiled at him while an apologetic look was crossing his features before he quickly grabbed some pills and a glass of water from a table beside the bed Jungkook was sitting on. "Here take these. They'll make you feel beter."
Jungkook carefully took the white pills from Jin's hand before inspecting them thoroughly. However he soon came to the conclusion that the pills Jin had given him where in fact just normal pain killers and the hacker quickly put them in his mouth before taken a big gulp of water and swallowing them. Maybe he would feel slightly beter as soon as those damn pills started to do their work. Right now it felt as if he had jumped of a damn building and the hacker didn't like it one bit. This was exactly the reason why he normally didn't do physical jobs.
"Where am I?" The brunette asked as he slowly started to look around himself. The room he had been laying in was dimly lit by a small light hanging from the ceiling. The rose colored wallpaper was hanging loosely on the wall itself and some parts of it were missing. Besides from the bed Jungkook had been laying on a single old wooden chair could be found inside the old looking room and without having to guess Jungkook knew exactly where he was. This must have been the team's lair.
"Were back at the basis. This is one of the rooms upstairs." Jin confirmed the hacker's thoughts before he slowly went and sat down right next to Jungkook on the edge of the bed. A sad yet concerned look was visible on the eldest boy's face and he locked eyes with Jungkook. The hacker could immediately sense that the older meant no harm at all. The other brunette's eyes displayed an honest and friendly look and slowly Jungkook began to lower his guard a bit. "I cooled the wounds on your face with ice when you were unconscious. I must say you look quite badass now though." Jin spoke, clearly trying to lighten the mood a bit.
Jungkook raised one of his eyebrows before he slowly raised one of his hands and began to softly tap on his face with his fingers. The first thing the hacker noticed was that the area around his nose hurts, a lot. The second thing he found out was that he probably had at least three big bruises on his face and another three in his neck. And the thirth and definitely the worst, his hair felt gross and sticky which could only mean one thing, somewhere on his head he had gotten a wound which had bled quite badly.
The hacker's eyes grew big and he quickly retreated his hand, only to find his fingers covered with the red sticky substance that he had felt in his hair too. Ohh how much the brunette regretted ever agreeing to this whole damn mission. Right now he regretted every single life choice he had ever made. He felt like crap, he looked like crap and there certainly was no way he could take care of himself right now. One step
out of bed and his legs would probably already give in which would only result with him colliding with the floor.
Before Jungkook could say anything regarding to the wound on his head suddenly the door to the room he was in opened and revealed none other than Taehyung. The male's blonde locks were messily tangled up with each other and while he tried his best to hide any emotion he might show a slight look of relieve could be found on his face. Taehyung immediately locked eyes with Jungkook and the brunette remained motionless on the bed.
Taehyung took a few steps closer to Jungkook before he kneeled in front of the bed in order to be at eyesight with the younger. "How are you feeling?" The older asked, a hint of curiosity visible in his eyes. Jungkook wasn't crazy, Taehyung didn't come to him for nothing. If the blonde went out of his way to come here as soon as Jimin told him that he was awake then surely he needed something from Jungkook. Sure the male may have saved Jungkook from death twice this day but that didn't mean that they were suddenly besties. Their relationship was purely bussiness related.
"Like shit." Jungkook decided to answer honestly, a hint of pain visible on his face. Eventhough he had taken two pain killers already his head was still pounding like crazy and the bruises on his face were becoming more and more painfull with every minute that passed. Taehyung poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue before he locked eyes with the hacker again. "Figured you'd do. You took quite some hits back in the bank." The blonde spoke before casting his gaze away from Jungkook.
"Yeah I can still remember the shoe coming my way." Jungkook answered while scoffing, a hint of sarcasm lacing his voice. He figured already he'd taken a lot of damage if he looked as shitty as Jin had said. However he somehow instantly regretted the tone he had used towards Taehyung. The blonde surely didn't owe him anything and without him Jungkook would either be dead or behind bars right now.
The hacker's facial features dropped before he looked up again with an apologetic look on his face. "Sorry...I just...." Jungkook began but got cut off when Taehyung stood up and waved him off. "Don't worry about it. Can you walk?" The blonde then spoke while looking at both Jungkook and Jin for an answer. A confused look began to form onto Jungkook's face and he raised both his eyebrows before he slowly began to stand up from the bed. His legs were shaky and it definitely took him a lot of effort to not fall over. The hacker's whole world was spinning and his head began to pound even more than it already did. Jungkook began to blink multiple times before dark spots once again began to infiltrate his sight.
Fuck, he definitely didn't want to pass out again.
However before he could pass out suddenly someone pushed him back on the bed. "Close your eyes and only open them again when you feel less dizzy. There is no way you will make it down the stairs in this condition." The deep voice of Taehyung spoke and for once the hacker decided to listen. If the blonde did want something from him then he definitely wanted what was best for Jungkook right now. In a way he trusted Taehyung to guide him right now.
It's not like he had another choice anyway...
Soon Jungkook opened his eyes again, the pounding in his head a lot less than five minutes ago and his world not spinning anymore. Meanwhile Taehyung and Jin both had waited patiently for Jungkook to recover from his attempt at standing and Jin smiled happily as soon as he noticed the younger's eyes wide open again. Taehyung then kneeled next to the bed once more before he began talking to Jungkook. "Listen Kook. We gotta leave this place as soon as possible. Johnny knows about this hideout and it will only be a matter of time before police will be searching this area for us."
Jungkook nodded understandingly. It would be logical for them all to leave and not return and Jungkook surely wouldn't miss this place at all. He destested the long creepy hallways and the rags hanging from the ceiling. Suddenly however Taehyung leaned closer before he wrapped to arms around Jungkooks body and lifted him off the bed effortlessly. Immediately a feeling of embarrassement began to fill Jungkook's chest and he looked away from Taehyung's face while a red blush began to decorate his cheeks
The hacker hated being this dependant.
"The others are packing up all our stuff. They're supposed to be almost done by now." Taehyung informed both Jin and Jungkook. The oldest of them all had immediately taken the task of taking care of the younger, seeing as he was the most skilled in that area out of all of them. Jungkook only nodded in response before slowly looking at his surroundings. Taehyung was slowly carrying him down the stairs now into the creepy hallway. "Taemin hurry up will you!" The familiar voice of Hoseok suddenly sounded close and before they knew it the trio saw Taemin run towards his boyfriend who was trying to carry a heavy set of equipment all by himself. "Sorry, got a little distracted."
"Less talking and more walking!" Namjoon's booming voice suddenly sounded through the long narrow hallway and immediately Jungkook looked up, only to be met with the male he was looking for. Namjoon was holding multiple guns in his hands and as soon as he saw Taehyung he quickly gave them to Jin. "Babe please bring these to the van okay?" The grey haired male asked and Jin smiled before nodding and walking towards the exit of the building. Jungkook looked at the whole exchange of words with raised eyebrows and he sighed softly before deciding to let it go. He had no idea what kind of team this was and why everyone seemed to be together with everyone. It surely was normal for relationships to form when you spent a lot of time together but right now the brunette didn't want to think about that seeing as his head was still hurting. He'd figure out all this shit later.
"Is everything almost ready?" Taehyung asked the older who was now standing right next to him. Namjoon smirked and nodded. "Of course my friend. All we have to do now is get the hell out of here and track that fucker down." The grey haired male answered before casting his gaze upon the male in Taehyung's arms. "How's he doing?" The leader of the group asked Taehyung, which caused Jungkook to scoff almost immediately. He may be quite dependant on the blonde at the moment but that didn't mean that his fire had died out completely. As long as the brunette still had a little spark left he'd use it.
"I can talk you know." Jungkook spoke annoyed, a hint of arrogance lacing his tone. Namjoon immediately smirked again before shaking his head slighlty. "Feisty as always I see." The grey haired male spoke before he focussed on Taehyung again. "We're as good as done here, let's go."
Taehyung immediately nodded before following Namjoon outside. Jungkook looked at the dark wallpaper and big clock one last time before focussing his gaze on Taehyung. The older didn't even seem a little stressed about the fact that the police could arrive at their hideout at all. Apart from that, Jungkook had no idea where this team would take him now and that did concern the brunette a bit. What if they took him out of Seoul? The hacker surely wasn't planning on spending the rest of his life with these guys, he just wanted to go home. However obviously that wouldn't be possible if they went far away from where he lived.
"Where exactly are we going?" Jungkook decided to ask, wanting to know what was happening exactly. The idea of leaving Seoul scared him to death and he surely wasn't planning on coorporating if that was the case. The brunette just couldn't go that far away from his home. Taehyung looked down swiftly before focussing on getting himself and Jungkook to the van. "An old apartment of mine." The blonde answered, his face and voice both completely blank.
Jungkook softly chewed on the inside of his cheek upon hearing that answer. Taehyung had given him absolutely no clue as to where exactly that apartment of his was and thus the brunette hadn't become any wiser than he had been a minute ago. "And where exactly is this apartment?" The hacker decided to ask, not letting the topic slide that easily. He just had to know what was going to happen. Jungkook was someone who couldn't handle it if he didn't know exactly what was going on, that's why he liked to work alone most of the time. That way he had control over everything that happened without having to depend on others.
"Near your own." Taehyung answered shortly before walking outside the hideout and walking over towards the van they had used to escape from the bank too. The car was completely packed with all kinds of stuff and Jungkook's eyes grew big. Multiple guns, blueprints and all kinds of technology could be found in boxes and before he knew it Taehyung softly stepped in, making sure not to hurt Jungkook in the process.
"Can't you just let me out in front of my apartment then?" The brunette tried, hoping that the older would agree and gave him back his own life. However all hope left Jungkook's body as soon as Taehyung slighlty shook his head before locking eyes with Jungkook. "Can't do love. That'd be way too dangerous and besides, I still need you." Taehyung spoke and immediately a soft scoff left Jungkook's mouth. Ohh how he hated to be wrong about Taehyung still needing him. Why did everyone always want something from him?
Ohh how the brunette sometimes wished he wasn't as skilled in hacking as he was..
"Why exactly would my own damn apartment be dangerous for me?" Jungkook asked, annoyance clearly lacing his tone. To say the brunette liked spending more time with all these guys would be a complete misunderstanding. He wanted to get away from them as soon as possible. All they had brought him was injury and a shitload of work for which he still hadn't been paid. No way he'd be willing to work with them again.
"Because Johnny knows where you live." Taehyung answered simply before looking at Jungkook, his eyes displaying a hint of amusement in them. "You've got no choice but to come with us, your home isn't safe." The blonde explained and Jungkook sighed loudly before shifting his gaze towards the window of the van. He didn't like the situation he was in now one bit but he had no other choice than to go with them to Taehyung's apartment. The risk of running into anyone Johnny would sent to his apartment to get rid of him was too high and the brunette didn't like gambling with his life all that much.
"Whatever." Jungkook spoke before the other guys got into the van as well. Jin took place behind the steering wheel and the others sat down on a random seat before Taehyung leaned a bit forward and whispered an adress to the oldest of them all. Jin immediately nodded before taking off. Jungkook carefully looked around himself as he saw the front door of the hideout dissapear out of his sight.
Never before had he gotten himself in such a mess and he had absolutely no idea how to get himself out of it again
