Ch.4 Sylvie
~Y/n pov~
We cautiously approached the man.
He grabbed the squad leader's arm and I saw a glow of green before the man collapsed.
Did he just take over her body?
I backed away slightly.
"Is he dead?" Loki asked nonchalantly.
"No. They usually survive." The variant stated, "So, you're the fools the TVA brought in to hunt me down."
"Me, I presume."
"Please, if anyone's anyone.. you're me."
Yep that's definitely Loki.
They both sent forced smiles at each other.
"How nice to meet you." Loki forced out through gritted teeth.
We followed after the variant when they started walking.
Though, we stayed at a bit of a distant.
"Enchantment is a clever trick." Loki stated, "Cowardly, a bit amateur-ish, but clever."
"Almost as cowardly as working for the TVA." The variant quipped.
"I'm working for me." Loki responded, walking towards the variant.
I stayed back, unsure of what to do.
"You really believe that, don't you?"
"Yep."
"And here I was worried that they'd found a better version of me." The variant laughed.
A guy suddenly approached us, "Hi. Are you guys looking for the disaster center?"
"No." The variant then enchanted the man, the body of the squad leader fell to the floor, "Are you going to call your little friends for help?"
They both started fighting.
I wasn't sure what to do so I just watched.
Loki fell to the ground muttering, "I would never treat me like this."
Then 'Randy' revealed themselves.
A figure wearing a black cloak appeared.
They pulled down the cloak revealing a blonde woman.
She was quite attractive. I could tell she was definitely a Loki because of the horns on her head.
She then ran through the portal she created.
"Loki, should we follow?" I asked him.
He thought for a moment before nodding.
He grabbed my hand and we both ran through it.
"Y/n! Loki!" I heard Mobius yelling.
~*~
The female Loki was fighting the Minute men.
I entered the portal with Loki but I couldn't see him anywhere. Did we somehow get split up?
The woman turned to me, "Y/n."
She rushed towards me and hugged me tightly.
"I'm sorry but.. do I know you." I asked her confused.
The blonde haired Loki pulled away, frowning.
"We knew each other. We were lovers..." she smiled sadly, cupping my cheeks, "I'll help you remember."
She brought her hands towards my temple but was stopped with a shout.
"Let go of her!"
I looked behind me and saw Loki stood there.
"She's not yours." The female Loki replied, pulling me towards her, "Have you got nothing better to do?"
"Rude." Loki said, coming towards us, his daggers pointed at us.
The female Loki pushed me behind her and started fighting.
Even if I tried to jump into the fight I'm pretty sure I'd just end up getting hurt.
"Are you sure you're a Loki?" Loki pointed his dagger at the blonde.
"You're in my way."
"You are my way."
Loki offered to work together with her but she rejected.
They continued to fight.
A flash of light suddenly surrounded us and a falling sensation came over me.
~*~
Both the Loki's jumped up and reached for the tempad.
"It's not working." She stated in shock, "No battery... great."
I stood up from the floor and helped the male Loki up.
The blonde turned her attention to me, "Are you okay?"
I stared at her blankly for a second before responding, "Uh.. yeah."
They started fighting over the tempad again.
"Stop it! This is not getting us anywhere." I yelled annoyed.
They both turned to me, surprised I had yelled.
"Let's all work together to get out of here. Then you can kill each other or whatever. I don't care." I sighed.
This was a pain.
"Okay fine." The blonde haired Loki agreed.
"Really?" Loki asked, staring at her incredulously.
"Is there a problem?"
"Why are you listening to her and not to me?"
"Maybe I actually trust her."
"Oh well at least we can agree on something."
"Great."
"Great."
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at them. A Loki meeting another Loki... what a nightmare.
Something suddenly fell through the building we were in and into the ground.
"What the hell was that?" I asked.
"Where did you send us?" The blonde asked in a stern tone.
We all walked out the building to see what was going on.
The moon was falling from the sky.
"You idiot! This is Lamentis-1!"
"I don't know what that means!" Loki yelled back at her.
"The moon that planet is about to crash into and destroy." The female Loki explained.
We all started to run, avoiding the falling parts of the moon.
"Of all the apocalypses saved in them Tempad, this is the worst!"
I noticed a piece of moon falling right on top of them.
Diving, I pushed them both to the floor.
It narrowly avoided us.
"Well I'm sorry! Didn't have time to scan the brochure." Loki continued to argue.
"Enough with the arguing." I frowned, "Just shut up for a minute."
I got up and offered my hands to them.
They both took my hand but then started making faces at each other.
"Stop it. Let's find a way to get off here, okay?"
They both nodded.
"What should we call you?" I asked the blonde.
"Sylvie. My name is Sylvie." She responded.
"Okay.. Sylvie let's work together." I told her.
She nodded.
"Oh, you changed your name, brilliant." Loki responded.
I shot him a glare.
He put his hands up in mock surrender.
The town looked abandoned.
"Did everyone already leave?" I asked.
~*~
There were so many people trying to get on the train.
We would look so suspicious. Not to mention we don't have tickets or anything.
"Well, this looks fun." Loki commented, "We can't fight our way onto the train."
"Who said anything about fighting?" Sylvie replied.
"All your plans involve fighting."
"Not this one. I'm going to enchant a guard, have his lead us through the crowd, and if anyone gives us any trouble.." Sylvie explained.
"Make his start shooting? And then what, kill every guard and hijack the train?"
"I think it's a good plan." I commented.
"No. Absolutely not." Loki responded.
"Oh, are you upset she sided with me and not you?" Sylvie teased him.
"Shut up." Loki grumbled, "We're doing this my way."
"Oh great." I muttered.
Sometimes his ego was just too big. He always wants to be right.
Loki shot me a glare. I guess he heard me.
Sylvie glared at him, "Don't look at her like that."
I quickly cut in to stop them from arguing, "What's the plan?"
Loki smirked and transformed into a guard.
"How do I look?" He asked.
"Stupid." I instantly responded.
"Like someone with a shit plan." Sylvie responded at the same time.
She pointed at me, "Yeah that too. Stupid."
Loki rolled his eyes and grabbed both of our hands, pulling us along.
The guards on the outside let us straight through.
We continued to walk to the entrance.
I exchanged annoyed glances with Sylvie.
She laughed.
Loki shot us both a look to shut up.
"Alright, grumpy pants". I responded.
Sylvie smiled, trying to hold in a laugh.
Loki tried to walk straight onto the train but the guard stopped him.
"Whoa! Hey!"
"Taking these two to Shuroo." Loki stated.
"Okay. And the tickets?"
"Orders come from the top to get them on this train."
The guard clearly didn't believe him.
Sylvie quickly stepped forward and enchanted him.
"Is everything okay?" Another guard asked.
"Yes everything is okay." The enchanted guard responded, "I just remembered that headquarters radioed in their request for them this morning."
The other guard nodded and we were let on.
"Oh yeah. Great plan." I smiled sarcastically at Loki.
"We got on, didn't we?" Loki responded.
"Only because Sylvie helped."
Sylvie smirked, "You're welcome."
I sat on one of the booths. Sylvie slid in beside me.
"Um.. I can't go backwards on a train." Loki told us as if we were supposed to move."
"Well, I never sit with my back to a door." Sylvie responded.
"Loki just sit down." I sighed.
He huffed, "Maybe I will."
He sat down in the seat opposite us.
Sylvie yawned.
"Oh, you a bit tired? Feel free to, you know, get some rest." Loki smiled at her.
"I can't sleep in a place like this."
"You can't sleep on a train?"
"No. I can't sleep around untrustworthy people." As if to make a point, she stared directly at Loki to show he was the untrustworthy person.
"Well.. I haven't slept in God knows how long." I placed my arms on the table and rested my head on them, "Just keep it down."
It was quiet for a few moments.
"I'm not gonna waste my time rooting around for the Tempad when someone taught you fairly decent magic."
"My mother." Loki responded.
I listened as they had a conversation.
I was so tired and yet I couldn't fall asleep.
"What was she like?"
"She was... A Queen of Asgard. She was good. Purely decent."
"Are you sure she was your mother?"
"Oh, no, she's not actually. I was adopted. Is that a bit of a spoiler for you? Sorry about that."
"No, I knew I was adopted."
"What? They told you?"
"Yeah. Did they not tell you?"
"No.... I mean, they did, eventually. Hang on a second. So, tell... Tell me about your mother."
"I barely remember her. Just blips of a dream at this point."
This conversation was definitely depressing. I felt awkward even though they thought I was asleep.
I zoned out a bit of the conversation, desperately trying to fall asleep.
Why couldn't I fall asleep?
~*~
"So, on the subject of love, is there a lucky beau waiting for you at the end of this crusade?"
"Yeah, there is actually."
"Oh?"
"Managed to maintain quite a serious long-distance relationship with a postman while running across time from one apocalypse to another."
"With charm like that, who could resist you?"
"Well, people are quite willing in the face of certain doom. How about you? You're a prince. Must've been would be princesses or perhaps, another prince."
"Nothing ever real.. well."
"You love her don't you?"
"No!"
"Hey, keep your voice down. She's sleeping."
Sleeping... yeah totally.
I felt a hand run through my hair gently. It was relaxing.
"I know you are. In my world there was an Y/n. We were in love. But then all this TVA shit happened and I haven't seen her since. I love her.. so much. I just want all this to be over so I can see her again."
I realised it was Sylvie who was running her hands through my hair.
"I guess I am in love."
The last thing I heard was Loki's response before I drifted into sleep.
