Lydia's POV
I'm in the boarding house talking to Stefan,Elijah and Elena about the plan.

"Tonight is the full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse." Elijah tells us.

"Elena and Lydia said that the Sun and the Moon curse is fake? That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus." Stefan says.

"Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it...He'll be a true hybrid." Elijah explains to everyone.

"Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today. With Bonnie." Damon says from behind me making me jump in surprise.

"Damon.." Stefan starts saying.

"No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying." Elena tells him.

"I'll write her a great eulogy." Damon says in a joking matter.

"No, it's not an option Damon." I tell him turning towards him.

"All right, how do we break this curse?" Asks Stefan.

"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know." Elijah tells us.

"The moonstone." Stefan says.

"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each." Elijah tells us.

"Where do I fit into it?" Elena asks.

"The final part of the ritual." Elijah says, grabbing a wooden box from the shelf.

"Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger...to the point of your death." Elijah tells us, he opens the box and takes a small vial from it.

"And that's when you come in?" I ask looking him in the eyes.

"This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation." Elijah explains to us, I look at the vial doubtful it will work.

"So, I'll be dead." Elena says.

"And then you won't." Elijah says.

"That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" Damon says.

"Damon, don't."  I say.

"You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?" Damon suggests.

"It won't work, Damon. The ring only works on humans and unfortunately Elena comes under the supernatural category." I say sadly.

"I'll take those odds over your elixir. What if it doesn't work, Elena?" Damon says looking towards Elena.

"Then I guess I'll just be dead." Elena says.

"No, it'll work. The elixir will work." I say strongly making everyone stare at me.

"It has to."  I whisper softly to myself, Damon puts a hand on my back comfortingly before leaving.

"Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this? Does he have a werewolf?" Elena asks.

"Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over a thousand years. If he doesn't already have a werewolf, my guess is by tonight, he will." Elijah tells us.

Elena And I join Elijah in the library.

"You'd think he'd understand why I'm willing to do this." Elena says, touching the elixir bottle.

"Why are you?" Elijah Asks.

"I'm the key to breaking the curse. Klaus is here because of me. If I don't stop him, then he's going to hurt people. It's that simple." Elena says.

"You know, there's a possibility this elixir won't work. I don't want to mislead you." Elijah says.

"I know the chance I'm taking." Elena says.

"There's always another way." I say looking at her, making her turn to me confused.

"What are you talking about?" Elena asks, I give her a look making her eyes widen.

"No, I don't want to be a vampire, Lydia." Elena tells me.

"But what if something goes wrong and you...." I start to say before stopping not being able to continue looking down.

"Your right, something might go wrong, the Elixir might not work and I could die, but that's a risk I'm willing to take, to make sure the people I care about are safe, that you are safe." Elena says making me look up at her scared. We then starts hear Jenna shouting, we walk out of the library and see Jenna with a crossbow pointed at Rick.

"What's going on?" Elena asks from next to me.

"It's me, Elena, I swear, okay? He let me go. Klaus let me go." Alaric's says looking desperately at us.

"Probe it." Damon says, Alaric then looks at Jenna.

"Okay, uh, first night you and I spent together, Jeremy walked in right when I was about to..." Alaric starts but Jenna cuts him off quickly.

"Okay, it's him." Jenna says lowering the crossbow.

"Why did he let you go?" Stefan asks.

"He wanted me to deliver a message. The sacrifice happens tonight." Alaric says looking at Elena.

We're all in the living room I'm sitting next to Elena on the couch.

"So you don't remember anything that happened?" Stefan asks him.

"No. It's like I blacked out and woke up three days later. Katherine was there." Alaric tells us.

"She's under compulsion. Damon snuck her some vervain, but she can't leave until Klaus tells her she can." Stefan tells him.

"Where is Damon?" Elena Asks.

"I saw him go upstairs." Jenna says, Elena gets up and walks upstairs.

"So what else did I do?" Alaric Asks is.

"You mean beside trying to sleep with me?" I ask, making Alaric's eyes widen in horror.

"I did what?" Alaric asks in horror.

"She's kidding." Stefan says chuckling, making me laugh.

"You should've seen your face." I say with a smile. Stefan then speeds away quickly before we hear a loud noise upstairs. I run upstairs and walk into Damon's room and see Elena on the floor with blood on her mouth, making me look over at Damon realising what just happened. I walk towards Elena putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Go ahead: wish me an eternity of misery. Believe me, you'll get over it." Damon says starring at Elena, Stefan rushes over to Damon and pushes him.

"Stefan." Elena screams, before Damon rushes towards Stefan pushing him against the wall.

"Both of you. Stop it!" I say getting up and in between them.

"Admit it. You just wish you had the balls to do it yourself." Damon says angering Stefan more, Stefan speeds towards Damon going around me and punching Damon in the face several times. Damon falls to the floor with blood on his face making me sigh. Damon then takes a wooden stick and stabs Stefan in the stomach with it. Elena and I rush over to Stefan.

"Get out of here." Elena Shouts upset making Damon stand up and walk back.

"What the hell's going on?" Alaric asks coming in with Jenna.

"Get him out of here." Elena says, Alaric walks towards Damon, but he pushes him and then leaves making me close my eyes briefly.

"Oh, my god." Jenna says looking at Stefan.

"Okay, Jenna, downstairs are some blood bags. Go get them now. Go!" Alaric says, Jenna leaves the room to get them, Elena removes the stick from Stefan's stomach, Stefan puts his head on Elena's lap in pain.

"It's okay. It's okay. You're going to be okay." Elena says looking down at him.

"I'm so sorry." Stefan says.

"Shhh, it's ok." Elena says, after Jenna and Alaric come back with the bloodbags, I walk out and downstairs not finding Damon here, I walk outside and get into my car driving to the Grill knowing that's where Damon will be. I park in the parking lot before getting out and walking inside, I see Damon at the bar. I start to make my way over to him, I sit down on his left taking a sip of his drink.

"You okay?" I after finishing off Damon's drink.

"Why are you here, Lydia?" Damon Asks.

"Am I not allowed to sit next to you?" I say raising an eyebrow.

"I mean why are you with me instead of with your cousin?" Damon asks.

"Because Your my friend." I tell him.

"Shouldn't you be angry at me or giving me a long lecture on what I did was wrong?" Damon asks.

"I probably should." I say, before Alaric comes over and sits on the other side of Damon.

"I'll have the same." Alaric says to the bartender.

"I screwed up." Damon says.

"Yeah. Yeah you did." Alaric says.

"Yeah." Damon says.

"Gentleman? Love? Why so glum?" I hear someone say from next to me, we all look up at him, I do a double take. How can someone so evil be so damn hot.

"Ugh, Klaus I presume?" Damon says.

"In the flesh." Klaus says with a smirk, before glancing over to Alaric.

"Thanks for the loaner, mate." He says, Damon then gets up.

"Any reason you stopped by to say hi?" Damon asks blocking me from their view.

"I'm told you and your brother fancy my doppelgänger. Just thought I'd remind you to not do anything you'll regret." Klaus says.

"Ha. Thanks for the advice. I don't suppose I could talk you into a postponement, by any chance, huh?" Damon asks.

"You are kidding." He says.

"He is kidding, right?" Klaus Asks.

"Nope. Not really." I say.

"I mean, come on, what's one month in the whole grand scheme of things?" Damon says.

"Let me be clear...I have my vampire. I have my werewolf. I have everything I need. The ritual will happen tonight. So if you want to live to see tomorrow, don't screw it up." Klaus says before leaving.

"That was fun." Damon says.

"You're going to screw it up, aren't you?" Alaric Asks.

"You think if I took his werewolf out of the equation, she might...Get over the fact that I tried to turn her into a vampire?" Damon asks us.

"Damon, you heard what Klaus said, if you interfere with the sacrifice. He'll kill you." I tell him turning towards him worried.

"But without the werewolf, he can't perform the ritual tonight, which means I would have bought her one month before the next full moon." Damon says.

"Won't matter, he'll still kill you. Look I want to the stop Elena from dying just as much as anyone, but your not going to be the one to do it, okay?" I tell him.

"Why not?" Damon Asks.

"Because you'll die and... I don't want to loose you." I tell him making Damon look at me softly.

"You won't loose me,ok." Damon says taking my hands in his larger ones.

"So, are you gonna help me or what?" Damon Asks Alaric.

"I'm in." I say, making them look over at me.

"Lydia,no." Damon says.

"Aww, that's cute. You actually think you can tell me what to do." I say giving him a pointed look.

"It's either I go with you or I go by myself. Your choice.

"Fine," Damon says.

"What do you want me to do?" Alaric Asks.
