You'd been waiting for Damon at the Grill for over an hour. It wasn't like him to be late without letting you know but something must have come up. Besides, you'd used the time to eat some dinner and were now on your second post-dinner drink. After this you were going home and your vampire could catch up with you later.
Someone leaned on the bar beside you and you ignored them. "Hello, Darling. It's not often I see you out and about without a Salvatore glued to your side."
You twisted on your seat and gave the Original vampire beside you a small smile. "Hello, Kol. How are you?" Kol was your favorite of his family. The two of you just always seemed to click, much to Damon's annoyance. Despite the truce between the Mikaelsons and the Scooby gang, the eldest Salvatore still held a grudge over Kol and his bat.
"My evening has been immensely improved by your presence," he responded in a flirty tone as he stepped closer.
You rolled your eyes. "Does that actually work for you? Like ever?"
He chuckled and signaled for another round for both of you. "You'd be surprised, Darling."
You propped your chin in your hand with a grin. Kol smirked back as he traced one finger up the length of your arm.
"Hey, sweetheart. Sorry I'm late," came Damon's voice from behind you. "Glad you found something to entertain you. You can go now, Mikaelson."
Kol arched a brow. "Thank you for your permission, mate but we were in the middle of a conversation." He stepped closer and you started to feel slightly claustrophobic stuck between the two vampires. Kol took your free hand in his and intertwined your fingers.
Damon moved around you and put a hand on Kol's chest to push him backward. "Don't fucking touch what's not yours."
The Original's eyes appeared darker than normal and his smile turned wicked. "Pretty sure she doesn't belong to anyone, Salvatore. And doesn't that just piss you off?"
Your gaze moved between the two vampires wondering what the hell they were doing. After a moment, you decided you didn't really care and you didn't want to have anything to do with it. You stood and tossed some money on the bar. "You two have fun with whatever this is."
Damon caught up with you before you reached the door. He held it open for you, but you ignored him as you headed to your car. When you went to open the door, Damon slammed it shut and held it closed with his hand. He leaned into you while his piercing blue eyes ran over you from head to toe. "What was that?"
Your brow furrowed. "What are you talking about?"
"You and Kol."
"What difference does it make, Damon? You and I are just friends, remember?" You'd had this discussion not even three weeks ago. He insisted you were friends and that was good enough. No reason to ruin it by taking things further.
He slammed his hand against your car, startling you. "We're not just friends and you fucking know it."
You crossed your arms over your chest and smirked up at him. "I do know it. Which is why I attempted to have this conversation with you already."
He rolled his eyes before leaning forward and slamming his lips against yours. You fisted your hands in his shirt to hold him in place. When he finally pulled back, it left both of you panting. He pressed his hips against yours so you could feel the hard length of him as he leaned forward to whisper in your ear. "How about I take you home and redefine our relationship?"
You couldn't help the giggle that escaped past your lips. "You and Kol really need to work on your pickup lines."
