Chapter 2: Hellraiser's Storm.

Usonian-Gallian Forward Base of Operation, Randgriz Boulevard, 13/04/1934.

As both the Hellraisers and Squad 7 have formed a base of operation, in a Joint Forces Agreement... In the Makeshift Mess Hall...

As Erika is chopping Vegetables, Granville Scott is busy cutting meats, as he's a Butcher back in Edinburgh, like sharing his Father's trade. While he was left alone, Team Leaders of Squad 7 asked her why she had defected... She just sighed and explained, while doing the Vegetables... She explains her story.

"I was one of the Imperial Young Hunters Corps. My excellence in Marksmanship is noticed and I've been trained a lot to become one of their Elite Sniper. As you expect, yes. I used to share the same sentiments with other Imperials when it comes to Darscens... But unlike others, I'm the type to think... 'Why would the Darscens rebel against the Empire?' I believed that they were just crazy Insurgents using that name..."

Erika then sighed again and said...

"But then I saw the cruel truth... All because of the history of some Darscen Calamity or whatever... I saw the dark side of the Empire. Most would've cheered for the Empire, I begin to question myself... Am I in the wrong or right..."

"And then, Operation Huldenberg happened. Even though it failed, the majority of the Darscens escaped into their boats, with the Usonians Marines giving their lives for their survival... Inspired by their endless bravery, I've defected and joined them on the Transport Ships. Which I then surrendered myself to the Usonian Military."

She then told the Usonian High Command and the Government about the inhumane treatment of the Darscens by the Empire. Due to this, they intended to give her a light sentence, but she asked to join the Usonian Military. After proving her newfound loyalty and Sniping Skills, she gets her wish and ends up in the Elite Hellraisers Airborne Platoon as the Lead Sniper of the Hellraisers' Sniper Team.

"There... Happy?" Erika's tone shows she does not like telling her story to strangers, but she considers this as the exception.

This led to Welkins saying this...

"Thank you for sharing that with us, Erika. It takes courage to question what you've always believed—and even more to act on it. You've already shown where your heart truly lies."

"Your choice to defect couldn't have been easy, especially knowing how others might judge you. Thank you for standing up for what's right." Isara seems glad that Erika defected.

Which Erika replied... "Trust me. It wasn't easy... But at least I've made the right choice."

"Well, that's quite the story. I suppose it's admirable that you came clean, but don't think I'll stop watching you. Actions speak louder than words, darling." Edy, as she gave a simple pat on her shoulder and left.

"Right..." Erika just nodded, knowing she must win the trust of other Gallian Militia and Soldiers through her deeds to win their support.

Meanwhile...

David is now wondering about which requisition the Usonian High Command would provide... after that successful mission of saving Major General Vincent Varrot.

"So? Any ideas, Lt?" Sergeant Major Johnson. "If I were you, I'd go for the BARs. We can barely put a dent on those Imperials with this. Even with the 45ACP on the Thompson is barely enough."

"Sure. We can at least not be worried about the Logistics. We'll have the same Bullets for our Rangers, Snipers, and Rifleman." 1st Sergeant Baker agreed.

"That's nice and all. But I would also replace our previous Mortar teams with our Rifle Grenadiers. they've done well back in Alaska, but we need to be portable." Lance Corporal Granville, now Promoted to Specialist Granville. With his decision to replace their Mortar Team [Grenadiers to Valkyria 4 Players.].

"Or for Erika's case... Two more Snipers." Sgt Bently while stocking up his Shotgun Shells. "Our 12 Gauge Shells couldn't do jack to their Armor, as usual... But that doesn't stop us from ripping at their limbs like no tomorrow."

Yeah. Usonian Sappers always shoot Imperials, Elite or not... To immobilize their Arms or Legs. With a Trench Gun.

But since they're Engineers. It's expected, but the Usonian Way is their way. Somehow the M9 Bazookas were able to be granted freely to his Platoon, thanks to their excellent performance from High Command's report.

Either way...

They're going to head to Yuell. The OSS confirmed the Remnants of the Empire's Frost Legion to capture the town. Hence they're sent to face them. And they're about to give Squad 422 "The Nameless" the surprise of their lives.

At Night on the Gallian HQ...

"And what sort of idiocracy to rely on those Usonian Gangsters to fight our war? Is this how you're defying me?" General Georg von Damon while arguing against Major General Vincent Varrot.

"Defying you?! Since when did you succeed in retaking that bridge aside from the Militia's Squad 7 succeeding with no casualties and the Hellraisers saving my skin?! If anything, I was right to call in the Usonians and trust Squad 7's intuition! You useless Aristocrats!" Vincent barked back.

Of course... The political conflict between a Pro-Usonian Vincent Varrot against the Aristocratic Georg von Damon still ensues...

Vincent believes that the Usonians would bring in the new Decade of Peace which he calls it... The Grand Usonian Decade. Even if he's in a Uphill Battle... He'll welcome this as a challenge.

"You're the unreasonable one here, Major General!" Maurits von Borg rebuked. "Gallia has for long, been the Neutral Nation that has long withstand countless Empires against our Principality! And you have the gall to choose the Usonians?!"

"Yes! And I'd do it again in a heartbeat! The Usonians have fought with endless bravery, and they'll do so again! They're also a Neutral Nation, so this alliance is more valuable than remaining Neutral, every day!" Vincent remained stalwart on his beliefs. And... It continues.

"... My god, Vincent..." Eleanor sighed as Vincent's support towards Usonians grew fervently, after being rescued by David's Units, as Vincent still argues against both Aristocrats.

After some consideration by his troops... David has written his Requisition Orders and it's on the Usonian-Gallian Commander's table...

[Requisition Request to the Usonian-Gallian High Command]

'We formally request that the Thompsons M1A1 currently utilized by all Rangers in the Hellraisers be replaced with M1918A2 BARs. This transition will not only streamline our logistics but also significantly enhance our ability to engage effectively against the Imperials. Our recent operational assessments indicate that the Thompsons have become ineffective in the face of the Imperials' heavy armor, which presents a marked contrast to our experiences in Alaska.'

'We wish to express our sincere gratitude for your generous support in providing M9 Bazookas. This enhancement will ensure that our Anti-Tank Airborne Units have these resources readily available, thereby eliminating the need to hastily access the supply box while exposing themselves to potential enemy fire.'

'Several of my Non-Commissioned Officers are evaluating the possibility of replacing our sole Mortar Team with three Rifle Grenadiers. Sniper Specialist Erika advocates for the recruitment of two additional Snipers to the Platoon, as she believes there may be further enemy Snipers due to the recent disclosure of her loyalties to the Imperials. This decision will be subject to your review, Sir.'

'Written by First Lieutenant David Wilson of the Hellraisers Platoon, 101st Airborne Division.'

[If you're his Superiors, what would you think? Accept or decline?]
