Trials of Flame - Part 2

Trials of Flame

A KOTLC Fan Fic.

The Vacker Legacy Book 2

It had been about a month since the council had banned pyrokinesis. Fintan Pyren was finding it harder and harder to contain his Flame. What the council didn't understand was that elemental abilities were always calling. You can't just ignore the ever-present flames calling to you. To conceal them was a trial. A Trial of Flame. He tried to keep them beneath the surface, but every once in a while they burst through, begging him to listen. The true pity was the fact that Flame was such a beautiful thing. Blazing bright and strong, consuming all... Fintan quickly stopped these thoughts. The last time he thought them he had found himself calling down Everblaze, and that was not ideal.

He found himself looking back on the incident that had caused all of this. It had been a warm night and he and 5 other prokinetics stood in the middle of a field ready to attempt to call down the Everblazing flame. The Fire of the Sun on Earth as Fintan called it. He showed the other prokinetics the exact star to call upon. A star called Solarfilus. The hottest star in the Universe. He had taught them what to say in advance and so as one they chanted "Solaris ignis, descendere" and they raised their hands towards the sun, and pulled them down in a spiral motion. As they did the flame followed them. Neon yellow, and all-consuming. It was Everblaze. Lord Arez was the first to hold it. He looked at it with wonder, and then looked at Fintan. Fintan gave a nod of confirmation, but then saw the sudden change on Lord Arez's face. It went from delighted and proud to shocked and scared. Then the Everblaze leaped from his hand and onto the ground. It raged like wildfire. Seeing this, the other Pyrokinetics tried to snuff their flames out, but it was too late. It was an inferno of Everblaze.

Fintan was drawn back to the present when he heard a voice. The voice of Orem Vacker. He turned to look at him. "Orem," he said, "I am deeply sorry about your father. If I had known how my lesson would have ended, I never would have attempted it." Orem grinned. "Thank you, but I did not come here for condolences, I came here to recruit you." Fintan was intrigued. "To what?" "I am about to give facts, do not argue with me for I know they are true. Number one, you are finding it harder by the day to keep your Flame snuffed out. Number Two, you wish you had never agreed with the council, Number three, you have begged the council to revise its order and they have denied you." Fintan nodded. Orem was scarily accurate. "How do I know these things? Because I know my father. He would have acted the same way you did had the cards been reversed. So I come here to offer you something. I have recently come up with an idea. An underground revolution fighting to bring justice to the Lost Cities." Orem held out his hand. "What do you say." "My Trials are over," Fintan said as took his hand

Ok, there's part two. Vote if you enjoyed. The next to parts will be up tomorrow. The last one is my favorite, so yeah.
