Chapter 44

Elsa's POV

TICK. TOCK. TICK. TOCK.

It's been minutes since Jack called, and I still don't know if I should call him back. Should I? Wait, this is stupid, nope I shouldn't. Then again, I don't know why I feel that it is important for Jack to know that I do too. I should.

I propped myself up again and stood up from my bed. and reached for my phone, almost dropping it in the process. I sat down at the left edge of my bed. I think...

'Ugh, stop thinking so much, Elsa. For once, let your heart decide and do all the talking.' A voice inside my head told me.

I gulped and clicked his number on my phone. No, I won't text him, that'll give him evidence. I'll just call him instead.

My phone rang and my heart started to beat faster at every ring of my phone, finally, he picked it up and said in his usual voice: "hello"

I didn't know what to say. "Uhm.... uh... I guess I woke you up so I'll just end this." I quickly said. But before I could end the call, he responded.

"Wait, no, you didn't. It's just... I couldn't sleep." He chuckled

"Yeah, me too." I said and immediately covered my mouth, don't get suspicious!

"You are?" He asked.

"Mhm..." was all I could say.

"So, why'd you call?" He asked.

"Uh.. well... umm..." I stammered for words... am I sweating?

"You love me too?" He asked hopefully.

"Ahah, stop it you idiot." I tried to laugh then turned serious again.

"Uh... actually, yeah. I love you too." I immediately ended the call and fell face first on the bed, my head rested on the pillow.

After a few seconds, I heard my phone ring, and for the lords knows I am stupid, I answered it before even checking who it was.

"Elsa..." the voice said. My eyes widened then checked the number... gawd it's Jack. This is the only time that I literally want the floor to swallow me whole.

"Don't you even try rubbing in what I just said earlier Mister, or for heaven knows what I'll do to you." I continued to rant of...

"Elsa..." he just said.

"What?!" I panicked.

"Well... uh.. yeah... I love you three." Then before he could end our conversation, I called his attention.

"So you're expecting me to tell you I love you four?" I said sarcastically.

"You just did." I can feel him smirk, that idiot.

"Stop the sarcasm." I surrendered and he chuckled.

"but you started it." He whined making me giggle.

"Whatever" I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Well it's still dark but it's morning so... Good Mornight?" I said and he laughed.

"Good mornight then." He said.

"I love you five, Elsa." Then he ended the call.

That idiot, too much sarcasm, but a smile crept up my lips as I rested on my bed and finally fell asleep, the smile not fading.

"E to the L to the S to the A, wake up or I'll leave ya forevah! Wake uuuup... ELSA!" Anna cheered as she jumped on my bed making me groan and slowly open my eyes.

"E to the L to the S to the A, you woke up so let's eat together! Let's goooo.... ELSA!" Anna giggled as she sat at my bed and laughed some more. I finally stood up and did some stretching.

"Good morning, Anna. Thanks for the morning cheer." I said in between my yawn.

"Good morning! And you're welcome" Anna giggled and handed me my towel and left the room.

I stumbled upon some things like a chair and a table before I could reach the bathroom and take a morning bath.

Anna and I arrived the school really early, but it's better than being late. We were sitting at the swings just near our building when my phone rang.

From : Jack

Meet me at the garden at the back of the school.

As in, right now? I looked at Anna then stood up.

"Anna, I'm just gonna meet Jack at the park. That okay with you?" I asked and she smiled.

"That's great actually. Kristoff said he'll pick me up here so that we could stroll/troll around the campus" she waved goodbye as I headed to the garden. But instead of seeing Jack, an unexpected scenery surprised me.

Only two things could be heard from the garden; the sound of the fountain, and a whimper. Tanya, crying. She was sitting on a bench while crying, I don't know what got into me but I sat next to her.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"You don't care." She coldly said making me sigh.

"For once, could you get rid of that cold heart of yours and at least open up to people?" I looked at her, disappointed.

By that, she looked at me then collapsed in tears again.

"I'm... s-sorry, Elsa." She said in between sobs while I patted her back.

"I've been as evil as a demon to you." She cried even more.

"I-it's alright" I said and smiled. I'm not used to seeing her like this.

"Why are you crying?"I said, no response.

"You want to talk about it?" I asked and she slowly nodded.

"Today was supposed to be our 5th year together." She looked at me sadly.

"May I know who he is?" I asked.

"Evan." She said making me gasp. As in, Evan?

"Was he the reason why you've been so bitter." I asked and she sadly nodded.

"To be honest, I don't even love Jack, I only see him as a brother or friend, it's just... you were just so pretty that I lost Evan as he became your suitor." She cried even more while I felt a bit guilty.

"You know, at least there's one thing you learned from him, he wasn't loyal to you. And I think you deserve a much better guy than him." I patted her back as she wiped her tears using a hanky.

"What you said kinda lessened the pain, but it's still there but... Thank you." She said making me smile. An idea just popped from my head that I think people could see a light bulb on top of me.

"Cmon, we'll show him who's boss." I stood up and reached my hand out for her to grab.

"Friends?" I asked.

"Friends." She smiled and took my hand as we ran to the cafeteria where I just hope that I'll find Anna there.

As we entered the cafeteria, Anna was gladly there with Kristoff. She immediately stood up.

"Why you little, what in the world are you doing with my sister." She was about to charge at her when I stopped her.

"No, Anna, it's fine. She's a friend." I said earning a questioned look from Anna.

"Long story." I shrugged.

"We've got time" Anna said.

So yeah, I basically yold them everything about Tanya, including the plan that I made up. From the look on Tanya's face, I can say that she likes the plan.

I then called Jack who I think was already waiting for me for about 5 minutes.

"Elsa! Where on earth are you?" He worriedly cried out.

"Jack, I'm fi--"

"Are you kidnapped? how much is the ransom? Thau can have the entire mansion if they want to..." and he has lost it, this guy. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

I couldn't help but giggle and get touched at the same time. I didn't know he cared that much.

"Jack, I'm fine. I'm with Anna, Kristoff and Tanya." I smiled.

"I'm sorry, who?" He asked.

"Tanya." I said.

"So you know about it already?" He questioned

"Yeah... wait, you know too?" I said a bit surprised.

"I was supposed to tell you but I guess you already know." He chuckled.

"Jack, could you get to the cafeteria soon?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'll be there in a sec. And don't you ever scare me like that again." He pretended to sound mad.

"Alright, I'm sorry." I laughed and he scowled.

"Just sorry?" He sounded quite disappointed.

"Fine... if it ever makes you feel better, I love you." I whispered the last part so that no one else could hear.

"I always knew you did." He laughed making me roll my eyes.

"Whatever, goodbye." I said.

"Wait, wait, I'm sorry" he chuckled

"Heh, It's fine." I laughed along.

"Goodbye and I love you too." He ended the call.
