Chapter 25: Christmas Shopping with my Parents

Sorry, it's been about a month since the last update and it's not really Christmas feels anymore. But, hey, bringing back a little the holidays isn't that bad, am I right? Anyway, enjoy!
-AquamarineOtaku

Saturday, December 16

Wow... It's been at least a month I haven't write down in here... I'm sorry, diary...
Anyway :D

Nine days before Christmas! Can you believe it?! That is my number one holiday, no question about it! Presents, the Christmas tree, candy canes and snow...? Okay, no. I hate snow, that's the worse season for me. I mean think about, it starts getting cold and you have to wear a lot of things to keep you warm and it gets ridiculous!

Also, my Winter break started yesterday and I have three weeks no school. Yay! :D

Speaking of Winter break, I mean think of the possibilities I can do with Emy, Chris and Rus! A Christmas Sleepover? Movie Marathons? The possibilities are just endless! I just need an approval from my parents on when I can do that
though... I should ask them now!

~Living Room~

I was sitting on the opposite side couch of my mom and dad. Discussing about my holiday plans with my buddies.

Heather: "Can I? Pleaaaaase!"

Mom (Kate): "It depends on what day you're planning on... Which day you wanted?"

Heather: "Um... The twenty-fifth? Also know as Christmas?"

Mom (Kate): "Oohhh... Sorry, honey... You can't..."

Heather: "What you mean I can't? What's up?"

Mom (Kate): "Well... Me and your father organized a Christmas Party at our home-"

Heather: "That's awesome! I can invite my friends over! That's not a bad idea-"

Dad (Richard): "Heather... It's not a typical Christmas Party... It's a Christmas Party with our friends... Celebrities buddies y'know?"

I got off the couch angrily and started yelling at them.

Heather: "Why?! Since when you have celebrity friends around here? I thought none of them live here!"

Mom (Kate): "We don't! They're coming over Christmas!"

Heather: "Ohh. You know I hate all of them right?"

Dad (Richard): "Heather!"

Heather: "Especially that one woman that I despise with a passion! Is she invited?"

Mom (Kate): "Well, of course...?"

Heather: "Alright... Well, I'll be in my room when the party will be held. I have no intentions on talking to none!"

Mom (Kate): "Oh really? How about Hugo? Are you going to ignore him too? Stuck with all these people that annoys you that much?"

Heather: "I'll- I'll make him not go to your party and force him to stay in my room for the rest of the night!"

Dad (Richard): "That's enough!! Heather, you're attending the party whether you like it or not!"

Heather: *sigh* "Fine... For Uncle H!"

Mom (Kate): "Thanks sweetie."

Heather: "Speaking of him, where is he? I haven't seen him all morning..."

Dad (Richard): "He went shopping. For I don't know what."

Heather: "So... When are we buying the Christmas preparations?"

Mom & Dad: "Now!"

Heather: "Wha-?"

My mom grabbed my hand while my dad grabbed the other and started dragging to the family car.

Heather: "What about Emilia?! She always comes with us with Christmas shopping!"

Mom (Kate): "Not this year, honey. This is official family time!"

Heather: "This is going to be fun!"

Dad (Richard): "I know! We will all have a great time as a family!"

Heather: "I was being sarcastic..."

~At Walcart~

Mom (Kate): "Here we are!"

Heather: "I can tell that..."

Dad (Richard): "Don't be so negative! It's the holiday season! Be happy!"

Heather: "Okay, whatever. Anyway, what we have to buy?"

Mom (Kate): "Well... Let's see..."

My mom got rolled paper out of her purse and when she unfolded it, it was a very long shopping list... Great. (¬_¬)

Heather: "You know what? I don't want to know anymore."

Mom (Kate): "Alright, then. Let's begin!"

My mom grabbed a shopping cart and we began to go to the Christmas section.

Mom (Kate): "Alright, listen up! Dad, you go take care of the Christmas tree and the ornaments and make sure they're pretty!"

Dad (Richard): "I'll try my best!"

*Dad leaves the scene*

Mom (Kate): "Heather!"

Heather: "Yes, mom?"

Mom (Kate): "Go find pretty ornaments for the Christmas tree and find other decorations for our house."

Heather: "Isn't it dad's job to get the pretty ornaments?"

Mom (Kate): "Well... Your dad doesn't really have a sense on when a ornament is beautiful and I don't trust him when it comes to it..."

Heather: "Why you ask him in the first place?"

Mom (Kate): "I don't want to hurt his feelings!"

Heather: "Alright... I'll find your 'beautiful' ornaments and other decorations."

Mom (Kate): "Thank you!"

Then she gave me a hug and a big smooch. After that, I started running off to find what she asked for.

~5 minutes later~

After browsing the variety of ornaments the store offered, I have difficulty choosing only a few! I mean all of them came in different pretty colors and it was pretty difficult on choosing!

Heather: "C'mon Heather, make up your own mind!"

?: "Please do, I need to look at some of them too."

I recognized that voice anywhere. It's been awhile since I saw him, but I will always remember his voice.

Heather: "Alex... Sorry, I didn't know you were here in the first place."

Alex: "I can tell."

He stood next to me, so he can look at the ornaments and it felt really awkward... He didn't act that rude to me that much and I found it very unusual for him to act that way with me.

Anyway, he picked out five pretty good ones and had a difficult decision on which to get with two specific ornaments.

Alex: "What you think is better, this gingerbread man or this reindeer cookie thing bobber?"

Heather: "The gingerbread man... Seems more appealing."

Alex: "Hmmm... I guess so."

I was very confused on why he needed my opinion. He never really cared about what I think after our 'fight'. Why is he even talking to me?!

Heather: "Why you need my perspective...?"

He looked at me with a neutral face and returned to look at the objects on his hand and gave a tiny smile.

Alex: "Just a tiny present for Ivy. She likes seeing gingerbread mans and reindeers on the holidays. I would buy both, but I can only afford one."

Heather: "Oh... What does that to involve me then?"

Alex: "I just wanted a girl's perspective on what is more better, that's all."

Heather: "Alright. That's cool."

We had a small silence and a thought came to my mind. When he mentioned about Ivy, it just reminded me of what happened to her at the night of the Cheesecake Café incident. I felt really sad about it and haven't heard of her for awhile...

Heather: "Hey... Um... Can I ask you a question?"

Alex: "I would say no, but since it's the holiday season, I guess this once."

Heather: "Um... How's Ivy?"

Alex: "Why-"

Heather: "You heard of her being at the Cheesecake Café a month ago?"

Alex: "Yeah? What about it?"

Heather: "I was there when she was there and things got rough between me and her, like the typical relationship we have and then, Krystal slapped right across the face and said that she doesn't want to be friends with her anymore and Ivy started crying and... I felt bad for her..."

Alex: "Yeah, she told me all about it that night when we were on the phone. On top of that, she started being distant to people, because of that incident... It saddens me, you know?"

Heather: "I'm sorry to hear that..."

Alex: "Yeah..."

Heather: "You still have contact with her right?"

Alex: "Yep. Trying to help her out on what she's been through."

Heather: "That's great of you, Alex. Even if I don't like you for the most part, I really like how you're being such a good boyfriend to her..."

Alex: "I always try... Anyway, I have to buy these now so... Yeah."

Heather: "Wait!"

Alex: "What?"

Heather: "Make this the last time we will ever be this friendly to each other."

Alex: "Why?"

Heather: "It's weird, but I like our despise passion between me and you. Besides, I don't want us to get too comfortable with each other, I find it awkward..."

Alex: "Alright. Merry Christmas you dumb idiot."

Heather: "Happy Holidays jerk face!"

He left with his ornaments and I started running off with mines to look for my next task, finding the decorations.

|( ̄3 ̄)||( ̄3 ̄)||( ̄3 ̄)||( ̄3 ̄)|

When I got there, I saw that pretty awesome decorations to choose from. For example, there were those very sparkling and big Christmas ribbon that you hang on your door, a huge bouncy ornament ball, a cute little kitten with a Santa hat (maybe I should buy that for Christopher) and etc.

Anyway, while browsing once again for new decorations, I had another familiar face to talk to.

Heather: "Hey! Aren't you Brandon?"

Brandon: "Yeah. Hey, aren't you the one with your friends that helped me find the restrooms at that café?"

Heather: "Yep... Nice seeing you here! What are you doing here?"

Brandon: "The same thing you're trying to do, looking for decorations."

Heather: "Sorry for occupying most of the space... Here, I gave you some space."

Brandon: "Thanks, but you didn't have to apologize."

Once again, he did what Alex did with me, installed beside me and we started talking about things.

Heather: "So, what brings you here?"

Brandon: "Buying Christmas decorations for my family as you can see..."

Heather: "Same. By the way, how's you and Krystal coming along?"

Brandon: "We're still hanging out a lot and we've started being good friends."

Heather: "That's cute..."

Brandon: "D-Don't jump into conclusions!"

Heather: "I didn't say anything wrong! Did I?"

Brandon: "Not-- Really... Sorry..."

Heather: "Hey... How's Ivy? You're her cousin, right?"

Brandon: "Sorry... I haven't heard from her in awhile since the incident... I tried calling her, but she doesn't want to answer! Wait a minute, how you know I'm her cousin? I don't remember telling you that..."

I forgot that I was being nosy listening to Brandon, Krystal and Ivy's conversation in the café! Oopsie...

Heather: "I... Overheard?"

Brandon: "Okay, I guess..."

I totally forgot on how really good looking he is... His eyes and how his little bits of hair hangs and covers his eyes a little bit is really nice on him... Oh my god, Heather! Stop thinking like that or you will fall in love with him too! Don't be an idiot!

Brandon: "Hey... Wanna hang out sometime?"

Heather: "With me and my friends or me only?"

Brandon: "Both is great."

Heather: "Sure!"

Brandon: "Sorry, Heather- Wait. That's your name, right?"

Heather: "That's right."

Brandon: "Anyway, I have to go now, since I got what I needed... See you around?"

Heather: "Of course! Advance Merry Christmas!"

Brandon: "You too!"

As he left me, I still stayed for at least five minutes to choose the decorations when I eventually picked the ones I liked the most and started looking for both my parents.

~10 minutes later~

Dad (Richard): "Kate, how come our daughter picked out ornaments? Wasn't that my job?"

She couldn't find an excuse, so I felt I have the obligation to back her off.

Heather: "I past by it and saw some of them are really pretty, so I decided to pick them up and show it to my mama and papa."

Mom (Kate): "Speaking of you, I'm really impressed with your selection. They're really nice! Good job!"

Heather: "Thanks and... Oh! Here's what I found for decorations for the house."

Dad (Richard): "They're nice also! I'm proud of you."

Heather: "Oh shucks... It's not a big deal.."

Dad (Richard): "Wait... Honey... What about my selections? Do you even like them?"

Mom (Kate): "Compare to our daughter, yours suck."

My dad was very shocked when she said that, if I can show you how his face is, I would say this once. The dramatic sad face, fabulous style!

Dad (Richard): "I'll be in the car! Take care of paying everything!"

Mom (Kate): "Where's the Christmas Tree?!"

Dad (Richard): "We have to find somewhere else! All their trees sucks!"

He stormed out of the entrance without looking back at both me and mommy.

Mom (Kate): "I was only joking..."

Heather: "Oh, mom... You know dad is very sensitive..."

Mom (Kate): "I'm sorry... I was just playing around with your father, that's all!"

Heather: "Tell that to him! Not me!"

Mom (Kate): "I will! After I buy all of this..."

Heather: "Let's hurry this up then."

~At the car~

*Awkward silence for a long while*

Mom (Kate): "......"

Dad (Richard): "............"

Heather: "Can you guys just forgive each other? You guys are being immature right now in parent standards..."

Mom (Kate): "Richard, where are we going to buy the tree?"

Dad (Richard): "We'll try Zollards... There should have a good selection of trees there."

Mom (Kate): "I'm sorry for what I said before, if it hurt your feelings..."

Dad (Richard): "What you mean? That didn't hurt my feelings."

Mom (Kate): ".....?"

Dad (Richard): "It was just an excuse to avoid the social awkwardness with the register..."

Mom (Kate): "What the hell!"

Dad (Richard): "Yeah! She was looking at me with a flirty look on her face and it disgusted me!"

Heather: "HAHAHAHAHA! You could've told her to screw herself since you already have a wife and kid!"

Mom (Kate): "Heather! That's a disrespectful comment! Honey, say something!"

Dad (Richard): "I should try it next time. Thanks."

Mom (Kate): "Don't you even think about it! Don't you guys ruin the Williams' image!"

Heather: "I never got it... Why do we have to act all good and nice to everyone? Why does celebrities have to do that? Is it worth it?"

Dad (Richard): "I know it's annoying as hell, but you have to manage it anyway..."

Heather: "Why every kid I know what's to be in my position? It's really not that great as everybody think it is."

Mom (Kate): "It always depends on what person... Everybody has different tastes."

Dad (Richard): "And besides, our privacy isn't that invaded compare to some people."

Heather: "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Dad (Richard): "Woop, we're here."

~At Zollards~

Mom (Kate): "Maybe we should look for the tree. All of us."

Dad (Richard): "Yeah... You're going to need my incredible muscles!"

He showed off his very flat biceps and me and mom chuckled a bit.

Mom (Kate): "Well, your jock days are over, Richard."

Dad (Richard): "Hey, c'mon, I still got the strength!"

Mom (Kate): "Barely."

(((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

We all got to the tree selection and when you know it, another friendly face appeared. Finally someone I am totally friends with.

Christopher: "Hey!"

Heather: "Hi! Here with your family?"

Christopher: "No... I went out by myself for some errands for my family."

Dad (Richard): "You're shopping for a Christmas tree all by yourself?"

Christopher: "Yep."

Mom (Kate): "How are you going to carry it, then?"

Christopher: "I- Uh... I have no idea, actually..."

Heather: "We can bring it for you!"

Mom (Kate): "I don't think so... We don't have enough space in the car to bring two trees."

Dad (Richard): "Uh... Right."

Christopher: "I'm alright. I'll call up someone to pick me and the tree up..."

Heather: "Alright... Sorry though...."

Christopher: "Don't need to apologize. It's just wrong timing, that's all."

Dad (Richard): "Say... Do you have any kind of recommendation on which tree we should get?"

Heather: "Dad!"

Christopher: "The one I have is pretty good, in my opinion... It's a good size for a family and it's really good quality. It's expensive, but I think it won't be an issue for you guys..."

Heather: "Christopher!"

Mom (Kate): "Thanks! I guess we will choose that, then."

While my dad and mom tried to get the packaged tree from the shelf, I spoke quietly with my buddy.

Christopher: "You think I said something too obvious about your family's secret?"

Heather: "Let's see... Don't you think it was a pretty unusual thing to say?!"

Christopher: *scoffs* "I thought it was only you that wanted nobody to know you're a celebrity! Doesn't your parents just wants to rub in people's faces that you guys are famous?!"

Heather: "They were like that when we first came in here! But, when nobody in this town has no knowledge about the oh-so-infamous Williams family, they stopped doing it, but still goes out and wear overly expensive clothing that nobody gives a crap about!"

Christopher: "Speaking of clothing, is your mom still bickering about how you dress? That it's not suitable for your family?"

Heather: "She just accepted it, since she always sees me with it always."

Christopher: "That's great..."

Heather: "I know. It's about freakin' time."

I heard a big thump coming from a shopping cart and I already knew it was my parents.

Dad (Richard): "Sorry kiddo, but we have to get going."

Mom (Kate): "Sorry. It was nice seeing you, Christopher! Come on Heather, say goodbye now."

Heather: "See you later. Merry Christmas!"

Christopher: "Happy holidays!"

~Back in the car~

Heather: "I'm hungryyyyy!"

Dad (Richard): "Don't worry, we're stopping over a place."

Heather: "Dad. You're a life saverrr!"

Mom (Kate): "If you keep acting like this, you'll gain weight in the next couple of days."

Heather: "Like I care! If I'm hungry, I'm hungry!"

Dad (Richard): "It's okay, we're almost there."

Heather: "Alright..."

~At Jim Hortons~

I ordered a mushroom soup, apple juice and a glazed donut and my dad paid for all of us.

While eating, I came across two people (again...), but it's Emily and... Uh... Russell?! Since when they started hanging out privately?!

Heather: "Hey, can I sit with two of them over there?"

Mom (Kate): "You want to sit besides strangers?"

Heather: "Mom! They're not strangers! I know them and you do too!"

Mom (Kate): "I have no idea who they are..."

Heather: "Oh my god, it's Emily and Russell!"

Dad (Richard): "It's obviously them, honey."

Mom (Kate): "I'm sorry! They look different then usual!"

Heather: "Can I then?"

Mom (Kate): "Oh sure, go ahead!"

As I walked to their table, I see how much fun they're having so much fun together. Both smiling happily to each other and laughing to everything the other has to say. I've never seen them interact this way, ever! But, it's almost as if they were on a date...

Wait, what? That's impossible! They wouldn't do that behind my back or Christopher's back! Why am I thinking this way? Ugh... Let's just get this over with...

Heather: "Hey, guys!"

They both turned around to face me and their genuine smiles suddenly turned into fake ones when they noticed me...

Emily: "Hey, Heather... What are you doing here?"

Heather: "I was on a Christmas shopping spree with my parents and we decided to eat here, that's all."

Emily: "Oh. That's nice."

Heather: "I saw Christopher by the way."

Emily: "Thats gr-"

Heather: "And Alex and Brandon."

Russell: "Who Brandon again?"

Heather: "You didn't even greet me a hello and that's the first thing you say to me?"

Russell: "Hi, honeybun. Would you like to have a seat?"

Heather: "Don't! Call me that... And yes, I would like to have a seat."

Russell scooted a little but, so I can sit beside him with my chair. I kissed him on one of his cheeks to greet a hello myself.

Heather: "So! What are you guys doing here?"

Russell: "I was here in the first place and noticed Emily coming in and I told her to sit with me."

Emily: "That's right."

Heather: "That explains."

Emily: "Hey! Can we all hang out on Christmas?"

Heather: "Sorry guys. I can't."

Russell & Emily: "Why?!"

Heather: "My parents' friends are coming over Christmas and we're having a Christmas party..."

Russell: "That's why you went into a Christmas shopping spree?"

Heather: "Yes..."

Emily: "But! If it's a Christmas party, why don't you just invite us?"

Heather: "That's what I proposed! But, my parents wants them, their friends and me..."

Russell: "That's unfair!"

Heather: "I know... I'm sorry."

Emily: "It's not your fault, don't worry about it."

Heather: "I'll make up to you guys after, I really will!"

Russell: "It's not necessary. Really."

Heather: "I'm really sorry..."

Mom (Kate): "Heather! It's time to leave! Let's go!" *from afar*

I got up from my chair and stared at both of them with a glum face.

Heather: "I better get going... It's nice seeing you guys here."

Russell: "C'mere."

I walked closer to him and gave me a goodbye kiss and patted my head.

Russell: "See you after Christmas, then?"

Heather: "Of course. See you guys."

~Back Home in the Living Room~

Heather: "What are doing, Emilia?"

Emilia: "Preparing the invitations for our guests."

Heather: "About guests, who are coming?"

Emilia: "Your dad's brother, some of your mom's friends, some of your dad's friends-"

Heather: "Is she coming?"

Emilia: "Who?"

Heather: "Her."

Emilia: "Ohh. Her... Unfortunately, yes. I'm sorry..."

Heather: "It's not your fault... It's just my mom doesn't know how much of an ass she is. She's a freakin' hypocrite and rude and a-"

Emilia: "I get it! Yes, I don't like her too, but we just have to deal with it."

Before I continued adding more complaints, someone interrupted.

?: "I'm home!"

As I turned around to look behind me, it was just Uncle Hugo.

Heather: "Where have you been all day?"

Hugo: "Looking for a suit for the Christmas party..."

Heather: "Wait... You already knew about this?!"

Hugo: "Uh... Yeah?"

Heather: "Whatever... Anyway, you know who's coming?"

Hugo: "Not really..."

Heather: "Guess what? The most annoying woman in the world is coming to the party!"

Hugo: "C'mon, she can't be that ba-"

Heather: "Trust me. You need to stay close to me as possible when you see her."

Hugo: "If she's that sick, then I will take your offer..."

I wanted to say more about the "sick" woman, but Uncle H turned immediately to Emilia.

Hugo: "Emilia, I have a favor to ask you, if you don't mind..."

Emilia: "Not at all! What's up?"

Hugo: "I need your judgment on the suit I bought, if it looks good on me or not."

Emilia: "Sure! Get dressed!"

Hugo: "I-Um... Want you to go to my room and do the judgment there..."

Emilia's face turned red, embarrassed about my uncle's unusual request.

Emilia: "I-I, possibly can't!"

Hugo: "But, you agreed to my request no matter what, didn't you?" *with a seductive tone*

Emilia: "But- I didn't know it would be like this!"

He grabbed ahold of her wrist and both sprinted to his room.

What's going in his room is really playing with my curiosity, but I wouldn't want to interrupt what they were doing, so shrugged it off...
