Reflections
Words are probably the most powerful weapon known to the world. It possesses the power to make and break at the same time. Words can destroy... Words can heal.
The connotation and interpretation of the question that Anirudh had suddenly asked Bondita on that lazy Sunday morning was different to both of them.
And both had their reasons.
It was hard for Anirudh to erase Mira's words from his mind.
At that precious moment, when he had held Bondita's beautiful face in his hand and had looked at her large dark eyes, his mind couldn't help but picture another face beside hers, a pale troubled one with a pair of deep-set eyes, looking at him expectantly.
Anirudh couldn't complete his words. He wanted to let Bondita know how he feels for her, he wanted to pour his heart out at her feet, but his words were held back by a strange melancholic feeling. It was as if he could almost hear Mira's voice ringing in his ears.
'Do you promise to take care of my baby!'
And Anirudh's next words were a mere reciprocation of his thoughts.
' Do you like babies?' He had asked Bondita instead.
The ears listen what the mind wants them to listen, the heart feels what it feels!
Unwary of the turbulence in Anirudh's mind, Bondita interpreted the meaning in her own way. Trilochan's letter and the words were fresh in her mind. She heard Anirudh's question and couldn't help but think about those words
'cries and giggles'... she recalled.
A lovely shade of red painted her cheeks as she blushed at his question.
She nodded her head slowly.
" I'd love them!" She murmured.
Anirudh took a deep breath and smiled at Bondita. He took the shirt from her lap and kept it aside.
"May I ?" He asked her as a true gentleman would, and Bondita couldn't help but nod her head in affirmation.
Anirudh had laid down on the mat, resting his head on her lap. The vast blue sky was infront of his eyes and an overwhelming sense of calm enveloped him. Bondita was his only refuge... she was his home!
"You know, I've never held a baby in my arm since Batuk." Anirudh started to speak. " And that too, I didn't want to... initially, because I believed him to be the reason I lost my mother."
Anirudh paused as Bondita touched his forehead lovingly, caressing him. She ran her long artistic fingers through his hair as he closed his eyes in contentment.
" Do you miss your mother?" She asked softly.
Anirudh nodded his head in her lap.
"I do Bondita. She left us too soon and I couldn't do anything for her!"
His voice choked as he spoke the last words.
Both sat in silence, drifted to their own thoughts... Anirudh thought about the lost time whereas Bondita dreamt of the future!
Suddenly, Anirudh felt Bondita's fingers tracing the outline of his face. He felt her fingers on his eyes, before she ran them down his nose, as they outlined his thin pink lips.
A naughty smirk played on his lips.
"Ah... How can I forget!" He remarked with a fake concern." I did hold a baby in my arms the day I got married."
His words earned him a soft ear pinch from Bondita and Anirudh laughed out loud.
"That hurts!" He laughed as he rubbed his ears.
Bondita shook him up from her lap as he sat up straight to face her.
"You had promised you won't call me a baby." Bondita rolled her eyes at him as
Anirudh witnessed a sudden change in her expression. She raised one eyebrow seductively and pulled the pin out of her hair. He gaped as her lovely traces fell down aesthetically like a running waterfall. She looked deep into his eyes and spoke in a low alluring voice.
" Do I look like a baby to you Barrister Anirudh Roy Chowdhury!"
Anirudh was awestruck and mesmerized at the same time. Bondita's beauty was enough to captivate his soul, and now, her words had accelerated his heartbeats.
Bondita was sitting infront of him, as an epitome of sensuality, inviting him to devour her in every way, and for a moment Anirudh couldn't fathom his next course of action.
He felt Bondita slowly inching towards him, he saw her bit her lips seductively as she hushed out the words, " I'm not a baby!"
It was too much for him to bear. Like a possessed soul, Anirudh seized both her arms and forced her down on the mat. He held her hands tightly as he hovered on top of her. He pulled her hands up, over her head, as his strong masculine body crushed her softness with an ardent passion.
"You are MY baby!!" He whispered as his eyes pierced it's gaze on hers. His face dived down to her neckline and her shoulder as she felt his sharp teeth nibbling on her skin.
Bondita wiggled under him. She tried to free her hands from his strong grip.
"Don't move, else I'll have to tie you up." Anirudh hushed lifting his head to face her.
Bondita parted her lips in response.
"Tell me... Do you want me to tie you up in bed?" He hushed again before plunging his tongue into the intoxicating sweetness of her mouth. The inebriety of the kiss was so intoxicating that Bondita curled up her toes and arched her spine under Anirudh's body as her entire being longed for more.
The brightness of the morning, the blue sky, the lush green mountains, the open air of the terrace garden.. nothing could cease the untamed passion that was brewing within these two souls. They felt aloof and unwary of the entire world. They felt liberated, they felt wild!
Anirudh had pulled up Bondita's saree to her thighs as his right hand played and kneaded her soft skin. His fingers moved dangerously close to her sweetspot as Bondita heaved her breasts with rugged breathing. His left hand was still holding her hands up tightly, restricting her movements.
"Someone would come." Bondita muttered.
"Let them." Anirudh replied as he dived on her body again with renewed vigour.
Bondita stretched her neck in pleasure as her eyes met the vast blue sky above. Her eyes sparkled in reflection.
"Koeli!! " She suddenly shouted, toppling Anirudh down from her body.
Anirudh was still in a trance. For a moment, he couldn't fathom the occurrence and was taken aback by the suddenness of the situation.
He quickly sat up and looked at the door in a reflex.
"Chicken!!" Bondita laughed out loud as she quickly stood up and ran away from the terrace.
Anirudh sighed loudly.
"This girl is going to kill me someday!" He thought lovingly.
