Mistakes are a fact of life!
Everyone makes mistakes.
But, that doesn't always mean that they'd have to pay for all the mistakes that they have done, knowingly or unknowingly, for the rest of their lives.
Sometimes, good people make bad choices. It doesn't mean they are bad;
it means they are human!
But, it doesn't mean mistakes are to be repeated. For, if they are, they no longer remains a mistake, but becomes a habit.

Dr. Suresh Chatterjee was no doubt a good man, with a good heart. But, his only fault was repeating his mistakes... knowingly!
His first mistake was choosing to love the wrong person and not being able to let go.
And, his last mistake was to envy the only person who meant well for him... Envy him to such an extent that the only way Suresh could see happiness was by reaping life out of that person.
Suresh had respected Barrister Anirudh, he was probably awed by his charismatic endeavours too, but, his blind love made him plot against Anirudh's life.
And, that's the worst deed a man can do.

Karma is like a boomerang. You get back what you give. And, hence, the tragedy of Suresh's life was somehow written by his own futile act of vengeance. He wished to eliminate Anirudh from the face of the earth, but, instead, his actions resulted in his own anhiliation.
And, in a way, Mira had hammered the last nail in his coffin.
Suresh had lost everything in his life along with his lady love. And, the only beacon of light was Mira and her son Ani. But, the moment, Mira confessed her undying love for Barrister Anirudh, it felt like a cruel joke that fate was repeating with him. The little aspiration of life that he had, was blown away by this simple revelation, plunging Suresh further into the never-ending abyss of hopelessness and destruction.

Anirudh and Bondita's journey of discovering each other, and their new definition of love, that had begun in Dehradun, was drawing towards a tragic denouement. And, with a heavy heart and mixed emotions, it was finally time for the duo to leave the pleasant warmth of the mountains to start another chapter of their lives. Dehradun had taught them new perspectives on togetherness, and it was time for them to apply those perspectives in life and move forward.
But, as they say, the root of all human sufferings is attachment, and Bondita heart was suffering from the curse of the same. She was torn over the truth that leaving Dehradun would mean parting away from that one emotion, that was thawing it's young tender shoots in her bosom, her motherly affection for baby Ani.

It's been ten days after the tragic accident. The Roy Chowdhury Banglow was shadowed with a melancholic veil of darkness and the only beacon of light was the soft cooing noise that baby Anirudh made throughout the day.
Bondita and Anirudh had hardly spoken to each other during these days.
After Mira recovered, she had been staying in the Roy Chowdhury Banglow in her old room, keeping herself mostly confined in the seclusion of the walls.
Trilochan had left for Tulsipur seven days ago, on the pretext of preparing for Anirudh and Bondita's welcome. But, the real reason wasn't unknown to anyone. It was to much for him to bear the pain that his nephew and daughter-in-law was going through... And, Anirudh hadn't stopped him from leaving. He too, somehow wanted to leave, escape from this deadly place with his Bondita... Dehradun had given them their love, but had taken a lot in return and, Anirudh didn't have the power to give any more.
But, he had his final responsibilities!

Suresh Chatterjee's final letter to his mother and Mira's account against Suresh was proof enough for Rishit Sinha to get a green pass, and Anirudh ensured that the Sinha estate was handed back to him lawfully.

Meenarani Chatterjee had preferred staying indoors, with minimal communication with the outside world since the day of the tragedy after Mira had refused to be called as Suresh's wife.

"It doesn't feel like a marriage!" Mira had remarked, lying in the hospital bed, on the very day of the incident.
"Why do I have to be a widow of a man who doesn't feel like a husband?"

Anirudh couldn't reply to her statement and Meenarani Debi shedded tears of loneliness. Only a few hours before, she had expressed her happiness to Trilochan, but now, she felt lost.
Not only did she lose her only son, but also, her daughter and grandson at once.

"Mira... Suresh Chatterjee legally took responsibility of your son." Anirudh had tried to reason with her politely.
"You can't deny your son of his father's surname!"

Mira had looked blankly at him.
"So let him be the father of my son, but he was never my husband!"

Anirudh let out a deep sigh as he left the hospital that night.
He had dropped Meenarani Debi to her house on his way back. The old woman was quiet the entire way but what surprised him the most was her power over emotions!

"You sure you don't want to return back to our..." Anirudh tried to persuade her to return back to Roy Chowdhury Banglow, but she had politely rejected his invitation.

"My son tried to take your life Anirudh... And, I would have to live with this harsh truth for the rest of my life... I'd prefer to live in seclusion to repent for my dead son's sins."

............................................

There hadn't been a single moment that Bondita had left baby Ani out of her sight. The baby suffered without his mother, but Bondita made sure that all his needs were met with her unbound love and affection. And, in just ten days, they became inseparable.
Anirudh didn't object to this attachment either. Although at times her overprotectiveness towards baby Ani didn't escape his notice, but Bondita needed a distraction, he thought, and Mira needed time alone, time to contemplate the next course of her life.

And, it was on the morning before their final stay in Dehradun, Meenarani Debi visited the Roy Chowdhury Banglow to see her grandson one last time, whom she loved so dearly.

The little baby cooed in his grandmother's lap happily, making it evident how much they had missed each other's company.
Bondita stood infront, making sure the baby was well protected.

"Baba... I don't know when I'll be able to see you next." Tears rolled down from Meenarani's eyes as she kissed the baby lovingly.

Anirudh came out of his study and sat beside her on the couch.

"Anirudh... What happened to your... ?" Meenarani exclaimed as she noticed a small white tape, plastered on Anirudh's forehead, just above his left eyebrow.

"Oh... It's just... Nothing serious, really." Anirudh let out a dry laugh as he exchanged a serious glance with Bondita.

"It was a small accident last night." Bondita intervened. "I did the first aid." She tried to smile forcefully but somehow couldn't.

Meenarani let out a sigh as she handed babu Ani back to Bondita.

"When are you leaving?" She asked slowly hiding her pain.

"Tomorrow, at dawn." Anirudh replied politely.

"Oh... So Mira... She too will be...?"
Meenarani couldn't complete her question as her eyes met with Mira's.
No one noticed when she had come out of her room and stood behind the door quietly.
Anirudh looked at her too.
"Mira hasn't decided yet." He remarked softly.

"I have."
Bondita and Anirudh turned their gaze to look at Mira as she slowly walked inside the dining hall.
She addressed Meenarani Debi and started to speak.

"He hurt his head because of me." She sat on the floor near the old lady's feet.
"Last night I threw a glass to save myself from the lurking shadows of your son... But, I didn't realise he was standing there... with a plate of food for me." She paused. "The glass hit him instead, injuring his crown."

"Mira... It's nothing... really."
Anirudh tried to interject.
But Mira stopped him instead.

"Two days ago, I left my son alone on the bed. He was crying... But, it didn't reach my ears... He rolled down and fell from the bed... It was Bondita Didi who came running to pick him up."
Mira's face was expressionless as she went on speaking her heart out.

"Maa... I'm a bad news... The old man and his family used to say the right thing about me... I am cursed! Whatever I touch, I destroy it!" Mira let out a deep sigh.
"And hence, I have decided... I won't let any harm occur to those whom I love."

"My son is unsafe with me... So, I would be happy if he stays with his grandmother." Mira touched Meenarani Debi feet as she felt a drop of tear fell on her palm dripping from the old woman's eyes.

Mira... Your son staying in Dehradun wouldn't be safe anymore... Bhairav wouldn't give up on..."

"Don't worry Anirudh beta..." Meenarani got up from her seat and walked towards Bondita, as she cradled the baby fondly in her arms.
"I'll take my grandson far... far away from here... Where his father grew... I'll leave for Chittagong tomorrow if needed!"

Mira wiped her tears silently.
She turned around and looked up at Anirudh next.
"I can't see you getting hurt."

"Mira... I'm not..." Anirudh objected as Mira raised her hand to stop him.

"I have thought alot... I know what I'm doing... Wherever i go, destruction follows... And, hence I have decided..."
Mira's voice quivered with an outburst of emotions as she declared her decision firmly.
"I won't go with you to Tulsipur either!"

"But Mira... Where..."
Anirudh couldn't complete his sentence as he saw Bondita walked straight to Mira, as she tied her into a tight hug.

"Barrister Babu... Now, Mira will do what she was always meant to do... She'll study and make an identity of her own."
She wiped Mira's tears lovingly and turned towards Anirudh smilingly.

"Could you please talk to Miss Lenny about her admission."

Anirudh smiled.
"Right away!"
